[Request] GT70 2PE Dominator Pro MS-1763 Full Unlocked BIOS

Hello Svet, I'm looking for fully unlocked BIOS for my laptop.
I have some questions though (before I make the donation):
- Do I need to specify which features I want or do you bundle every feature by default?
The main thing I want is an option to enable/disable HyperThreading, but it would be nice to also have whatever other features are available.
- What is the preferred method for flashing the unlocked BIOS? I have been using the built-in BIOS flash utility, is this ok?
Specs & Screenies:
Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit
Intel Core i7 4810 MQ
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 880M
8 GB RAM
128 GB SSD / 1 TB HDD (non RAID)
Thanks in advance!

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Pro increasing static/white noise during different games.

    Hello.
I'm quite in a predicament here. I have an MSI GT70 2PE Dominator gaming laptop.
Every time I play a game[doesnt matter which one, ones demanding high specs and also with games that can run on toasters :p ] after a couple of minutes I start hearing this increasing static, white noise coming from my speakers or headset. After a couple of moments it also sort of disables my microphone as well. IE When in in VoiP while playing a game, after the noise increases my mic also stops working.
I tried everything I could think of. Reinstall drives, format the laptop, all the little advice people give in other threads about this kind of problem. I also sent it into repairs and they said it was fixed but alas it still isnt. I tried using different power adapters and that doesnt seem to make a difference.
One interesting thing is that when I just play on batter power - no issues at all. As soon as I plug in the adapter - the noise start building up again.
Anyone has any ideas what might help?
Running Windows 8.1 and realtek audio for the sound.

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Pro Turbo Boost Doubt

    Hi!
I'm new into MSI laptops and I've bought an GT70 PE Dominator Pro.
All buttons and apps work perfect but when I press the G button nothing happens. It just light for a second and nothing else. My question is: How can I enable de Boost in this laptop?
    Thank you very much!!

The turbo boost feature is automatic. As long as your power settings include it. Typically only high performance is the only one that allows turbo boost. Turbo boost is only activiated if windows power settings allow for 100% cpu. 99% or anything lower disables turbo boost. This is typically set up this way, because of battery life. Running turbo boost, even when not needing this top speed, will make the chip run as fast as it needs to, so running cpu at 99% limits this turbo feature, but still leaves the 2.7ghz. This greatly increases battery. Personal experiences with this, I run high performance, and then I run the msi 'office' power settings. Doing stuff like this (web browsing ect) will get me 2-3 hours high performance setting, and 4-5 hours on office.
The turbo boost speeds you 'claim' 3.7 are only for single core. I'm not 100% sure, but it goes something like 1 core 3.7, 2 cores active its 3.5, and all 4 cores is something like 3.2. This is all non overclocked. And the biggest things with the 4810 chips that's in our gt70 dominator pro laptops is actually hindered by the tdp of the chip. The tdp is 47w. And unless you get the 4960mx chip, all the i7's have this 47w limit. That is, the total amount of wattage the chips will or can allow. So typical 'gaming' or 'workstation' loads, with turbo boost active, you will typically see 3.299 ghz. Those programs are very much typically multi core (4 core) loads.
I hope this helps. If not, just post a more specific question.

  • Unlocked BIOS requested for GT70 2PE Dominator Pro BIOS E1763IMS.51B

    Svet,
Could you create for me an unlocked BIOS of BIOS version E1763IMS.51B.
I need it for the windows phone virtual machines ... I need to enable hardware virtualization support.
Why on earth is vt-x not enabled???
    Sv.

Let me explain a bit more... I am using visual studio and want to emulate windows phone on windows. Thus the hardware requirements are that i need to have activated:
    Hardware requirements for Hyper-V
1.A 64-bit (x64) processor ◦Windows Server 2008 was the last 32-bit (x86) Windows Server release and Windows Server 2008 32-bit version *does not* include Hyper-V
2.Hardware Virtualization Assists in the form of:
    ◦Intel VT-x (initially codenamed Vanderpool)
◦AMD AMD-V (also called SVM and initially codename Pacifica)
    3.Hardware Data Execution Prevention (DEP*):
◦On Intel processors this is called Execute Disable (XD). This feature must be enabled in the system BIOS.
◦On  AMD processors this is called No Execute (NX). This feature must be enabled in the system BIOS.
Note: When you enable hardware assisted virtualization (Intel VT or AMD AMD-V) in the BIOS, you must TURN THE SYSTEM OFF. NOT REBOOT. OFF.
    Hyper-V R2 and SLAT Hardware
For traditional server virtualization or virtualization desktops without RemoteFX, SLAT hardware is not required, but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for improved performance.
•On Intel systems this is called Extended Page Tables (EPT)
•On AMD systems this is called Nested Page Tables (NPT) or Rapid Virtualization Indexing (RVI)
These features are usually on by default. If there are BIOS options, enable them.
NOTE: For virtualizing desktops using RemoteFX, SLAT hardware is REQUIRED.  To take advantage of SLAT hardware, you must be running Windows Server 2008 R2 or later or Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 or later. Previous versions (Windows Server 2008/2008 SP2 & Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008/2008 SP2) do not support SLAT hardware and will simply ignore these hardware capabilities.
Hyper-V : What to Disable in the BIOS
There are some hardware features that Hyper-V does not utilize and enabling them will prevent Hyper-V from loading. Specifically, please be sure that:
    •Intel VT-d is disabled
    •Trusted Execution is disabled
If either of these options is enabled, Hyper-V won’t launch and errors will be posted to the Event Log, for example:
•Event ID 41: Hyper-V Launch failed; Either VMX not present or not enabled in the BIOS
•Event ID 32: Hyper-V Launch failed; At least one of the processors in this system does not appear to provide a virtualization platform supported by Hyper-V
My question: Are these options properly set in the bios, because windows refuses to execute the virtual machine.
    Hopefully it helps...

    Hello bintug_esen,
According to the spec of DVI, the 144Hz is totally out of the performance of the DVI, even the HDMI cable can't do that.
    DVI spec:
    Single: 1920x1080@60Hz
Dual: Limited by copper bandwidth limitations, DVI source limitations, and DVI sync limitations.
I am wondering why your external monitor can't get the signal via the mini DP to DP cable. Did you try to press Fn+F2 to switch on the signal output?
like RX-8 said to get the 144Hz to work you need to use DisplayPort or w.e it's called since HDMI and DVI wont meet it's requirements to handle 144Hz

  • MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro popping (crackling) noise

I bought this laptop a few days ago and I noticed a popping (or crackling) sound coming from the speakers of the laptop. At first I thought it was a problem with the speakers so I plugged in my earphones but the noise was still there. I already tried installing the newest drivers but nothing happened, so I don't have any other ideas on how to solve this problem. I also checked the configuration of the speakers properties and the Realtek HD sound manager but it didn't help at all. If anyone could please help I would be very grateful because the noise is irritating and frustrating me a lot already.

    yes its possible

  • MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro - KLM

Just putting the finishing touches on an upgrade and installing all the drivers.
Have done lots of searching but the driver or software for KLM (Keyboard LED Manager)
seems to be missing from the download support page for this laptop, anyone know where i can find KLM.

For your model, install Steelseries Engine (SSE) for keyboard LED control.
KLM is used for earlier models or Workstation series.

  • Re-assign quick launch buttons [GT70 2PE Dominator Pro]

Is there any way to re-assign the quick launch buttons on my touch panel? I unstalled the pre-installed software that launched when I originally pressed the button and now it defaults to Windows Media Player. Could I change it to VLC Player at all?

I think it is possible, but in my opinion it should be  universal: so should control the software that is running. If not, then look through the software that it came with to see if you can change default player or something like this. Also would be worth trying to change VLC settings to see if you can get anything from there.

if breached, "Will void the Warranty."
Can I ask where you're located? Because in Europe (and USA I believe), removing the sticker will not void the warranty if you don't do any damage. And that applies to notebooks and graphics cards. But if you rather not believe me, contact MSI and ask if you can reapply paste. Also anyone with experience with MSI products can actually approve what I just said

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Pro: Is it safe to turn on cool boost 2 everytime playing a game?

I was wondering if it is safe for the computer and the fan to run it at max everytime I play a game. The reason I do that is because I want my GPU and CPU to remain at a relatively safe temperature around 55-75 C. If I don't turn on cool boost 2 the GPU temperature rise up over 80 C.

The temp head up to 90C+, its designed to handle those temps
you no need to use it all the time

  • Not maximum size after upgrading the SSD on GT70 2PE Dominator

    I have a GT70 2PE Dominator Pro.
i upgraded the SSD to increase the size to be able to install more games.
I removed the two SSD (128g each under raid 0) and replaced with one Samsung EVO series 500g SSD.
But after running the recovery DVD on the new SSD, the program split the new SSD into two partitions.
one partition has 270g (OS install ) and the other 180g (data).
How do i recover the system with the new SSD (500g) with only one partition? so that i could have bigger space on drive C:

    Hi emorterajr,
There might be a way to use your Recovery DVD so that it allows you to control the partitioning of your new SSD. But I'm not familiar with it. It would be helpful to know how your SSD was partitioned to begin with. It might have been partitioned into those partitions from the factory. If it was, then you simply need to re-partition it like you want before using the Recovery DVD.
It is also possible to eliminate your 180 GB partition, then expand your 270 GB partition into that area and thereby make your "C" drive as big as possible. You'll need to obtain partitioning software that will do that. There used to be several programs available years ago for that purpose but I'm not sure what is available now. The trick is to grow your 270 GB partition without erasing it---many partitioning programs would erase your 270 GB partition if you resize it. But it can be done without losing anything---you just have to get the right software.
About capacity, the advertised size of an SSD or HD is almost always its unformatted capacity. Once the drive has been partitioned and formatted, the usable capacity is always less. Plus, if you are savvy and wise you'll understand about "wear leveling" which is used by SSDs to distribute use evenly across the entire storage area in order to prevent premature failure. This "wear leveling" works best if you leave a portion of your SSD unallocated. You'll read different advice around the internet about this. Some say to leave 5% unallocated. Others claim you need to leave 20% unallocated. I use 10%. What this means is that you'll only partition a total of 90% of the available capacity of your SSD and leave the remaining 10% unpartitioned. Obviously, this further reduces the available storage capacity.
Leaving part of our SSD unallocated is not essential---your SSD will operate okay even if its full capacity is allocated. But this technique will help you get the best life from your SSD and it will help it to maintain its read/write performance over that lifespan.
    Kind regards, David

  • GT70 2PE Dominator Killer WLAN problem

    Hello everyone.
I recently bought a GT70 2PE Dominator Pro gaming computer.
As I grew tired of Windows 8.1 in a few days, I installed Windows 7, 64 instead.
After having set the BIOS and all that to Legacy, so that I could install and run Windows 7, I ran into problems with the Killer LAN drivers.
I downloaded all drivers, chipset etc. including the Killer Network Manager from the MSI support page, but the WLAN still isn't working. In the administration of the computer, it can find it OK, but says that it can't start this device.
I have followed every guide I could find with both trying installing the drivers 'clean', using the KillerCleaner etc., but still nothing works.
Is there any more help to find?
    Thank you

Take a look in the SteelSeries Engine, the exclusive gaming software only for MSI gaming notebooks. This macro keys software built in Keypress macro, Text macro, 1 key launch program and Disable key function, besides F1~F12, all other keys could be used for macros setup, and 4 layers of keyboards o setup 4 sets of macros with 4 sets of different backlit combinations, so this is really a great software for smarter and stylish gaming experience.
With CPU-Z tool to check, the upgraded Intel Core i7 4800MQ @ 2.7GHz, TDP 47W, 4 Cores 8 Threads is really great performance, CPU Boost could up to 3.5~3.7GHz.
Because of Core i7 4800MQ and GTX880M, the 3D benchmarks comes with breakthrough scores than ever on the notebook platform, 3D Mark Fire Strike: P5351 pts.
The GT60 Dominator Pro on 3D Mark 11 gains P8461 pts, it’s whole new level of the gaming notebooks, and It’s over 15% faster than GTX780M!
The 3D Mark Vantage boost up to P33115 scores, it’s 14% faster than GTX780M!
Then we check on other software of DirectX11 3D performance, the Heaven Benchmark is world’s 1st software tool to test DirectX11 effects, this time we use Heaven Benchmark version 3.0 to test.
Set the Tessellation on normal to enable DirectX11 effects and run Benchmark, the Full HD resolution could get 78.2 FPS(Frames Per Second) high score result.
Since this GT60 is 3K IPS panel edition, of course we have to try 3K resolution, you could see that the result block is smaller at 2880x1620 resolution, the result is 42.7 FPS with same setup, so we could say that 3K resolution will reduce over 45% of the FPS rate in this test, but GTX880M is too powerful, so still over 40FPS, and most games we need to get over 30 FPS to play and feel smoother, at least 20 FPS to play a game, if lower than 20 FPS, that will makes people feel lag obviously and feel dizzy easily.
Since we tried some benchmark, of course we have to try at least a famous game to the real world experience. Battlefield 4, the biggest FPS game title since end of 2013, is one of the heaviest loading games on PC platform.
First we made Battlefield 4 detail at 1920x1080 with Ultra Graphics Quality setup.
The gaming frames is 46 FPS, really smooth and around 20% faster than GTX780M.
Once we tune up the resolution to 2880x1620, the FPS drops a lot because the Ultra mode also set 4xMSAA (Anti-Aliasing), that will impact the performance a lot in higher resolution, also make graphics memory demand around 3GB~4GB, seems the 8GB GDDR5 with GTX880M is prepared for upcoming games with such as 3K or even higher resolutions!
We could see it’s about 24~28 FPS under 3K resolution with Ultra Graphics Quality, most time it will reduce over 40% FPS rate of the gaming performance.
Seems to set the Battlefield 4 with “High” graphics quality on 2880x1620 resolution is more suitable to play the game smoother in every theme.
It’s about 42 FPS, close to the 1920x1080 Ultra graphics quality. So if we want to play heavy loading games at 2880x1620 resolution, set to High graphics quality setup is a good option for 3K gaming!
After these 3D and gaming tests, let’s take a look on the temperature of the cooling system. The room temperature is 25 degree C, the temperature of fan out part is 71.2 degree C, it’s not a surprise because of GTX880M and Core i7 4800MQ, even it’s a bit lower than most gaming notebooks with this 2 combinations. The palm rest and keyboard side is 30.6 degree C, it’s really cool for users to hands on.
After the fabulous experience of great 3D performance, let’s take a look on the benefits of “Super RAID 2”, normal 2.5” HDD is about 80~100MB/s, single SSD is about 400~550MB/s, BUT, GT60 Dominator Pro boost over 1536MB/s and average is 1477MB/s, that’s 15x faster than single HDD, almost 3x faster than single SSD.
If we check on the AS SSD Benchmark tests, you could see more detail of the storage access performance is amazing, the Sequential read is 1116.76MB/s, write is 786.79MB/s. 4K-64Thrd read is 665.09MB/s, write is 461.18MB/s, it’s ultra fast!
The GT60 Dominator Pro 3K IPS edition comes with Killer Doubleshot LAN and WiFi, it provides faster response time of gaming experience, when you at different LAN/WiFi environment, Killer software will ask you to make an internet speed test, this will fine tune your LAN/WiFi for smoother and faster online experience.
MSI also got a new software tool called “Dragon Gaming Center”, this tool is also good for hardware monitor and utility launch tool. Also could show the status of Hybrid Power enable or disable.
The ultimate weapon for enthusiast gamers:
The GT60 2PE Dominator Pro 3K IPS version is extremely powerful, it comes with most of the features that a great gaming notebook could have, 3K IPS panel is really great effect of vision quality, SteelSeries keyboard with SSE is amazing for gamers to play their games smarter, Sound By Dybaudio present really good detail sound quality, Killer Doubleshot is faster for online gaming, of course the GTX880M is awesome for gamer to play Full HD even 3K resolution games, the backlit of Dragon logo and keyboard is really beautiful.
    Conclusion:
The overall score I will give this GT60 2PE Dominator Pro 3K IPS edition with Super Pack is 95 out of 100, this is really great machine for any hard core gaming or power user usage, I would recommend any one to must-have this notebook if it’s affordable for you!!

Ok either you work for MSI or you changed the settings in 3dmark11. I only scored around 5K with my GT60 2PE 3k. Any idea why I'm scoring 3k below you? Laptop was plugged in btw. Also how can you enter bios settings with this laptop? I suspect that maybe the hybrid gpu thing is affecting my score, and the Pc is probably not fully utilizing the GTX 880M, maybe in bios I can disable the integrated CPU's video card??? Please let me know. Thanks.
