Requirement of E-sourcing and e-CLM (contract life cycle management) in SRM

Dear Experts,
Does one need to install e-sourcing and eCLM (contract life cycle management) in SRM 7.0 to take the benefit of full functionality available in SRM 7.0?
My understanding says that e-Sourcing and CLM are not must for SRM 7.0. They are basically available separately as on demand product who may not have SRM landscape.
Any ideas shared will be highly appreciated.
Reagrds,
Ranjan

Hi Ranjan -
The answer is NO, you do not need E-Sourcing/CLM to install and work with the contract functionality in SRM 7.0.  These are completely different products / systems.  The contracts functionality in CLM is oriented toward contract authoring / qualitative information management about contracts, while the functionality in SRM is more oriented toward the quantitative contract information/execution of the contracts against orders.
Hope this helps,
Emily

  • Business Partner Roles and Account Life Cycle management in IC

    Hi all,
We have IC agents creating prospects but also back office people (i.e. sales staff) creating prospects. Back office staff uses account life cycle management to identify the prospect role. However, I noticed that the business partner role (prospect in this case) is not visible within the IC - during account creation - because the role is used within the account life cycle role exclusion group.
I can always enhance the IC component to remove the filter on the BP Role. but question I have is why does SAP IC remove the roles from the role drop down list in the IC account creation screen and how did other people get around this?
    Thanks,
    John

I am also looking for an answer on this. How did other people who work on Interaction Center get around this? How do you create accounts when IC removes the BP roles mentioned in the Exclusion group config in SPRO ?

  • What is (sdlc) software developement life cycle management in hyperion esssbase and planning ?

what is (sdlc) software developement life cycle management in hyperion esssbase and planning ?

SDLC is a high-level concept (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_development_life_cycle) not a feature of a particular software package, so I'm really not sure what you're asking.
If you're asking about the somewhat related topic of moving changes through environments, look at About Lifecycle Management.

  • Difference between life cycle manager and import wizard

Can any one tell me about life cycle manger. To my knowledge we use import wizard to move the data from from one environment to other. then what is the purpose of life cycle manager.
weather we need to install on the boe xi 3.1 server(solaris server) or do i need to install on the client machine. do we need separate licence to get this are is it free.

LCM enables you to store several versions of the same BOBJ object (eg reports). This is very helpful for development projects eg. if your testing phase fails you can rollback to an older version of your reports.
Regarding the license you have to ask your local SAP sales representative. I know that the license is normally bundled in BO license packages but only SAP sales can provide an official statement about this.
My personal recommendation: If you want to move a limited number of objects on-demand and fast then use the Import WIzard. Otherwise use the LCM.

  • Feedback on the potential use of the tool and about the Task Life Cycle

    Hi
The task statuses does not considers some statues. We have worked on the task lifecycle for workflows (see image below). You are missing: Created, offered, allocated before getting the category of not started because otherwise your problem might be to not have resources availables.
Once In Progress a task can be suspended/resumed, delegated.Failed or Cancelled, skipped. Once a task is Completed, At Risk and Failed.:
We have been working on workflow modeling for developing UIs. The WorkflowLab project has a lot of potential if we imagine an automated process to generate Flex (Information Systems) applications based on Workflows. Imagine that the granular details of a task are mapped onto Flex UIs.
Have you ever consider this potential of using a workflow model as a design of an Information system?

If you need further information, this is a site with publicly available papers of this topic.
    http://www.isys.ucl.ac.be/bchi/members/jgu/publications.htm
The main topic is on how from a workflow model the User Interfaces of the system modeled can be generated but special atention has been paid to task modeling.
If we can be of any help we would be very pleased to collaborate with your project.

  • Contract authoring using Duet in SRM 7

    Hi,
I have attended SRM 6 presentation a couple years back, and I remember that SAP proming there will be contract authoring tool within SRM 6 that can use Duet with Microsoft Word. Now my company is about to implement SRM 7, and nowthere in the library nor the training materials for SRM 7 explaining the concept of authoring with Duet.
Is this function scraped in SRM 7?
Can someone shed light on this?
    BR
    Josh

Contract authoring with MS Word integration is more a feature in the Contract Life-cycle Management of SAP Sourcing application (formerly known as e-Sourcing), not a readily standard functionality in SRM 7. Refer to the following link for more information:

  • SAP SRM Contracts Vs SAP CLM Contract

    Hi SAP Gurus,
Can you guys please tell me the difference between SAP SRM Contracts and SAP CLM Contracts.
In which factors SAP CLM serves better than SAP SRM??
Why SAP CLM came into existence when we have SRM Contracts? What are the draw back and what is not achieved with SRM Contracts?
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Sanjay
There are many differences, SAP CLM Contract run in Sourcing and SAP SRM Contracts run in SRM.
    Advantages CLM Contracts:
    - Establish a contract as a result of a project
    - build the draft agreement from a template
    -   - Create your own folder structure to organize your contract attachments
        - Transfer quickly attachments between the different folders
    -   - Download easily multiple attachments with a single click
    - Administrator can create new customer fields (extensions) and customer tables (extension collections) for all      master agreements or specific master agreements
         - New customer fields are immediately available in the UI and as a search parameters
          - All is done via configuration, therefore no upgrade issues
         - Generation of contract document out of master agreement
         - Template Library with approved legal contract templates for quick contract generation
         -  Possibility to provide end user with flexibility to modify the provided content from the template during contract creation
          - Adjust contract by adding or removing of clauses and sections to the content provided by the selected contract template
          - Multiple content options (alternative clause content) available to provide end user with controlled flexibility
          - Automated transfer of master agreement meta data into generated contact document
          - Creation and transfer of line item table into contract document
    -     - Creation of a unique barcode on the contract header
          - Contract negotiation with clause changes in MS Word are tracked in the contract repository
          - Change of meta data like Agreement Effective Date in MS Word possible and transfer back to master agreement in repository
          - etc
The are the possibility to integrate CLM contract to SRM Contracts

  • CLM ( Contract lifecycle management

    Hi
I have a few quries regarding CLM( Contract LifeCycle Management)
    1) CLM is Standard module in SAP ECC 6.0.
    2) if 'NO' what are the additional features with respect to standard Outline Agreement ( Contract/Scheduling Agreement)
    3) If it is complete different module , how can we integrate?
    please suggest.
    Regards

CLM is not a module, it's an application. As per SAP website "The SAP Contract Lifecycle Management (SAP CLM) application supports your company's entire contract management process. The application supports all contract types and can integrate with back-end systems in support of contract compliance.
By enabling proactive management of all aspects of the contract life cycle, SAP CLM will help you:
Accelerate time to contract through automated contract creation and collaboration
Lower legal, financial, and regulatory risk through standardized language and reporting
    Protect your company's bottom line
Realize full savings and revenue through contract visibility and awareness
Ensure more control and better compliance throughout the contract life cycle via system integration, alerting, and reporting"
    For details, check http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/30101293-5766-2a10-759a-a2c2eb9b3ec0&overridelayout=true

  • Lift cycle management not migrating epma and security

    Hi,
Essbase 11.2 unix, planning 11.2.unix, epma
A customer has a number of environments and the life cycle management is used to migrate planning between environments. However, the process is not robust with shared services and epma not being copied correctly.
To get around this the epma db is being copied but this hasn't resolved the problem. What is the best way manually copy empa data between environments? Is the meta data info stored in the plann app db itself which is also being copied?
    Thanks,
    Nathan

For EPMA the best solution is going to be LCM, I am not sure what you mean by not being copied correctly.
If you are having specific problems with LCM then these should be logged with Oracle.
    Cheers

  • SQL ENTERPRISE: The edition of Reporting Services that you are using requires that you use local SQL Server relational databases for report data sources and the report server database

The error below makes absolutely no sense! I'm using Enterprise Core...yet I'm being told I can't use remote data sources:
w3wp!library!8!03/05/2015-19:08:48:: i INFO: Catalog SQL Server Edition = EnterpriseCore

    Services that you are using requires that you use local SQL Server relational databases for report data sources and the report server database." is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services.;
Really? This totally contradicts the documentation found here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157285(v=sql.110).aspx
That article says remote connections are completely supported.
ARGH! Why does this have to be so difficult to setup?!?

    Hi jeffoliver1000,
According to your description, you are using Enterprise Core edition and you are prompted that you can’t use remote data sources.
In your scenario, we neither ignore your point nor be doubt with what you say. But actually we have met the case before that even though the SQL Server engine is Enterprise but the reporting services is still standard. So I would recommend you to find the
actual edition of reporting services you are using. You can find Reporting Services starting SKU in the Reporting Service logs ( default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<instance name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles). For more information,
please refer to the similar thread below:

  • Create two or more data sources and mapping to DSO

    Hi,
I´m using SAP Netweaver BI 7.0.
If there are two or three data sources which have to be mapped to DSO which field from Data Sources has to be mapped to which field in DSO?
Is it possible to have only one DSO or should it be three DSOs because of the three Data Sources?
The thing is I have created one view out of three tables. For the view I have created one DSO. Everything worked fine. But now the requirements have changed because of currencies.
The view I have created is now mixing currencies because in the view is only one currency field, which is filled from the three tables. Two tables have different currencies and one table has one currency.
The one currency of the one table is important and should stay like it is.
I´m thinking about something like three different currency key fields in DSO which are mapped from data source. Also for every field of data source mapping with corresponding field in DSO.
Some hints? I have found articles in SDN about creating data sources and so on but they don´t help me in this matter.
    Thank you in advance!

Thank you guys for explaining! I´m new to SAP BW and trying to better understand.
I`ll try it also with the view. It sounds "easier".
But if I´m doing it with the 3 data sources, that means that for each currency field of the data source I will need an corresponding currency field in the DSO for mapping.
Is it possible to have 3 times the 0Currency field in the DSO and each data source currency field will be mapped to the DSO?
If that would work the 0Currency has to be contained in the key figures.
But if the 0Currency is contained in each key figure will the assignment of currency work correct?
    +For example:+
    Data Source1:
    Turnover in Euro.
    (All currency is in Euro)
    Data Source2:
    Profit in Dollar.
    Profit in Euro.
    Profit in Yen.
    Profit in different currencies available.
    Data Source3:
    Sales in Dollar.
    Sales in Euro.
    Sales in Yen.
    Sales in different currencies available.
For mapping from DataSources to DSO if it is possible to have 3 times 0Currency in DSO:
    Data Source1 currency fiield ---> DSO 0Currency
    Data Source2 currency fiield ---> DSO 0Currency
    Data Source3 currency fiield ---> DSO 0Currency
    Does it make sense?

  • Allow Non-Administrator accounts to create event sources and write to event logs

We are setting up BizTalk 2013 in Windows Server 2012 and one of the requirements is to allow the service account to create sources and write in event logs (Application) of the BizTalk servers. We have found what it seems to be a simple solution for this
without giving service accounts local admin rights.
Give Full control for the following registry keys to the service accounts or groups to allow creating of event sources and write to event logs:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Security
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Application
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog\Security
Note: when changing permissions for EventLog key, the child keys will inherit the permissions by default except Security key which must be done manually.
Initial tests using a .net test app seems to work as expected. New event sources are being created in the event logs and writing to the event logs after that works perfectly.
The above method has been deployed in production and this is the most suitable solution for us.
