Resetting the export to excel sheet on ALV output

Hi !
One of the user ran an ALV report and then tried to expot the report output to spread sheet . When she clicked on the export tab it poped her a screen to enter the format in which she wanted to export it and then checked the checkbox * Always use the selected format. Now whenever she clicks the export button on the ALV output it directly directs her to the spread sheet with the export. We would like to reset that so that she can choose back the desired format from the list of options. I would like to know where do we have to go or which table its gets stored so that we can re-set it back to original?

Hi experts,
I am not able to download all the rows which are displayed in alv grid display for some material numbers.
for some materials i am able to download, i used two ways to download 1) from icon(local file) on grid 2) menu list->export.
i checked in debugging till selecting the spread sheet pop up window, i am able to see all the data in internal table.
Can you suggest me what will be the problem....

Long Text In ALV - Exporting to Excel sheet

Hi,
Currently my ALV report reads the text using READ_TEXT fm and it displays only the first line of the text in the report.
To the see the remaining lines of the text, user needs to double click on the text in the report and it creates another ALV report with one column showing all the lines of that particular text.
Now the problem is when user exports the report in excel sheet, obviously only the first line of the text is downloaded in the excel file. User wants all the lines to be downloaded but at the same time, it should be line by line in a single cell not in a single line.

Here's my suggestion: Install OpenOffice.org and ask SAP to deliver good integration with OpenOffice.org.
Alternative suggestion: re-install SAP Gui on the PC where the integration is not working. If that does not help, re-install Microsoft Office as well.
Here's my comment: I think you should ask this question in a different forum, e.g. in the Duet forum. That may not be the correct forum either, but as it is a Microsoft/SAP integration technology forum, someone there may know the solution.

I have problem exporting data to excel sheet In the java servlet.
I am getting a date field as 03/15/2004 in servlet but after exporting to excel sheet it displayed as 3/15/2004 in excel.
Is there a way I can show the way its comming in java servlet.

Excel will format stuff in its own way - depending upon the settings for date/time format on your computer.
ie It will read the string from the servlet "03/15/2004" but then format the date according to its default rules.
This may end up being "15 March 2004"
Solution: change the default date format on your computer.
In other words, you can't easily tell excel what to do from Java.

And, the data within the cell in excel sheet is not displaying the same value as it actually contains as the size of the number is large and the format is changed to fit the excel sheet column width as standard excel functionality. Try fixing the format of the excel sheet column through code (specific node attribute passed), but I am not sure how to do that.

If I run the program it want to store the data into excel sheet(first few lines) , if i run the program again I want to store the next result in the same excel sheet after that data(first time data).
is it any solution available to store the data in the same excel sheet again again in different row of that excel sheet.

I am not sure which FM u r using for downloading. The FM GUI_DOWNLOAD will work for your requirement. Set the parameter Append to value 'A'. Every time it will append the data to ur file.

I would recommend you to have a look at the VI attached. It makes use of a VI named 'Read from Spreadsheet' to read the row and column data from the tab delimited excel file. The read data is then searched for the Alphabet specified and finally returns you the corresponding string. The test file used to validate the operation of the VI is also attached.

HI, I am using GET TIME IN SECONDS ,and after that i placed SECONDS TO DATE /TIME instruction ,and i had taken a write to measurement file instruction

please help me ... The question has nothing to do with 'getting' data from excel and certainly not with putting it into MySQL.
The stack trace specifically tells you that your connection string is wrong.
It also tells you which connection string is wrong.
Which you can use to determine specifically which one is wrong. And which you did not provide that info to us.

Issue in Excel download from ALV output

I have generated an ALV Output using FM "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY". When i try to download the ALV Output in Excel spreadsheet, I am not getting the data in Excel sheet. Kindly help me in this regard.

Please try below options.
after getting the ALV disply , Go to Menu LIST->Export->Spreadsheet.or microsoft excel view (Cntrl + Shift + F7)
It will give some options to see the data in spread sheet format, hope you can save this to local desktop also.
or
please check the extension, it should be .XLS not .XLSX .some times .XLSX format wont be supported

I have done an ALV report using reuse_alv_grid _display , out put is fine , but when i click on excel view icon i could only see an excel sheet without any data ., but when i use export to local file and choose spread sheet its giving the data in excel, but the user wants to click only the excel view icon.

Note : i have already tried changing the macro security in excel to Low .

see it will give you the Status message as ...
<b>View cannot be switched: Product is not installed or integration is not active.</b>
it means the Excel Integration was not done in you sap system . ask basis there will be a Patch for it ... once it was applied automatically in all the ALV the excel view will work
in my system it was working

You can edit the report to display the specific information you need. After choosing "Edit" for the report, you'll find a section at the bottom called "Columns to Display". Pick and choose exactly what you want, and then click the button for "Save and Run".

Hi,
I am downloading Records from ALV GRID DIsplay to Excel sheet but i am unable to get all records that are displayed in ALV report.
I am getting only 73 records if i have only 180
Any inputs please for correctine the error

you can follow these stapes and get ur work done
go to List > select Export > Spreadsheet or just click the excel icon from the tool bar.This would download the data to excel.
