Restoring Game Cener

Hi,
My son has an 8GB 4thGen Touch and manged to reset it last night.  Luckily I back everything up and was able to restore it to how he had it set up, with one exception.  I can't get Game Center to allow him to log back in with his AppleID.  If we try to log back in it say that the AppleID hasn't been registered, if we set up a new account it says his username is already in use.  I have all of the passwords, etc written down, so I known they're correct.  He can sign into facetime & messages so I know the AppleID is live.  I've re-set the password and still get the same results.

You probably can't if the app is syncing data with iCloud.  If it isn't, you may be able to recover your game progress by restoring your last backup.  You would have to ask the app developer if the app data is synced with iCloud, and if so, if it can be recovered.

    Some ways to get space
You can first remove seldom used apps. If you decide later you want them back you can always download them again. You can also download the Dropbox app and off load some of your little used pics and files to open up space. The app is free and you get 2 gb of free storage and if you get friends to install Dropbox they will give you 500 extra mb for each friend who installs it. Many apps will let you save direct to Dropbox.

  • Best way to restore game app data to iPad after rebuild

I rebuilt my UMBP over the weekend. Before doing so I took a copy of my documents, movies etc, and the entire iTunes library folder and placed it onto an external HDD. This was not a Time Machine backup, but a straight copy. After rebuilding, reinstalled latest iTunes and copied just the songs back across and re-authorized the library. I didn't copy the entire folder into the new place, but I still have all the items.
When I went to connect the wifes iPad for sync, it begins the whole "new device" process and must be "erased to sync." Problem with this is she has one or two apps on there with significant game data (Bejeweled for instance) that she doesn't want to loose.
Any advice on best way to resolve this, i.e. able to connect the iPad and sync to rebuilt machine without losing the data? Can I obtain the old backup(s) from the folder and use that or am I better just copying the entire folder across from the external drive onto the rebuilt machine. I did have a search and while there is plenty of backup / restore advice, nothing seems to match my situation 100%.
    Thanks in advance.

Try to backup manually. Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your device, right click on it in the device list and choose backup. This will copy all settings, photos and 3rd party data including your game settings to iTunes. Do the same thing to transfer your purchases to be sure to have the latest apps and media copied over.
Set up at least one contact and event on the computer, so that calendars and contacts are being merged during the first sync.
Since all data will be erased during this first sync, use this backup to restore your settings afterwards.

  • HT4623 when you restore games from your iPod touch that are backed up to the cloud, does it restore your game play history as it was at the last backup?

grandson loaded up the iPad touch we gifted him. iTunes (he uses a PC at home) says to restore factory settings.  we understand that will wipe data from iPod touch - but we did confirm his "Minecraft" app and a half-dozen others were backed up as recently as 1 pm today.  If we restore to factory settings, then "restore" his iPod from the iCloud back up, can anyone confirm his "gameplay" will also be restored as of the last backup?  Not a gamer, never had this concern...  I know his Purchased Apps are still on iTunes, but he's panicked about losing his minecraft "score."

Yes it you restore from iCloud backup game status will also be restore provided that the app is still avaialbe form the App store.

  • Restore game data if iPod is restored due to forgotten passcode?

It's amazing how many posts/discussions there are about lost/forgotten passcodes.  Apple really needs to do something about how to fix this other than completing wiping out the ipod.  Totally ridiculous.
We set a restrictions passcode on my son's ipod, but it somehow magically changed at some point.  We ended up having to restore and then re-sync apps, etc. in order to reset the restrictions passcode.  A restore of a previous backup doesn't work since the passcode is part of the backup.
Since we couldn't 'restore' from previous backup, we had to re-sync all the games back after the touch was setup as a 'new' device, but they all ended up going back on the touch as if they were newly installed - all game data lost.  Is there a way to get it back since I cannot restore?  Is there a way to prevent this?
When I updated all 3 of our iPods to IOS 5.01, it also wiped out the ipods, but we were able to sync the apps/games back and keep the progress data.  I'm confused as to what the difference is and if I could have avoided this.
    Thanks!

Compare what you did to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nANBANgD40Q.
This will place it in DFU mode and allow you to restore it.

  • Restoring Games from IPOD to Itunes

My entire ITunes directory was erased. I had a backup copy and restored. However, my games were not restored. How do I transfer my games (which I purchased from Itunes Store) to the Itunes directory?
    PC   Windows XP Pro

The transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
Alternatively, you could try iPodCopy which will retrieve videos and games, you can find it at this link: iPodCopy

  • Restoring games level or score to new phone

I changed to a new iPhone and my games history gone. Any way to restore to the same level off your game like angry birds?

What does that mean? I have no idea how to help when all you tell me is "didn't work for me."
With that description the problem could be anything from the computer wouldn't boot up to I can't find my BlackBerry.

  • Restore game progress deletes Siri

To keep game progress, I restored my new iPhone 4S to my old iPhone4 backup, only to find Siri gone.  I've restored it back to 'new' and selected 'New iPhone' instead of restore to backup and Siri is back but I can't copy games and maintain my progress in them.  Is there any way around this without losing Siri?

You are correct!  You post inspired me to try one more time and bingo, it worked.
    To recap:
I restored new 4s to 4 backup and Siri was gone
I reverted back to new iphone and selected 'new iphone' and Siri was back
I've just reverted back to new iphone and restored to 4 backup and Siri was there with game progress restored.
This implied the iPhone shipped had different installed sw to the restore through iTunes.

  • Restore Game settings

Well an update to one app got corrupt and had to install APP again.  Doing so I lost all saved games and progress.  It is just for this one APP, eg.  Angry birds star wars.  Is there a way to go in with iexplorer and restore from a backup from time machine or have to restore from an old backup.  The device already backed up again so it may have overwritten the device backup.  Am I SOL?
    Thanks.

As long as you back up before you restore you are fine.

  • Restore Game Data?

Is there any way to restore my progress in a game if I have to delete and re-install it? I'm looking to Re-Install Angry Birds and have a Game Center and Crystal account but want to know for sure if I can restore my progress or not?

It depends on the app. If the app stores it's data on the iPhone, then it will be gone once you delete it (unless you restore the entire phone from iTunes with the last good backup containing that data). If the app stores it's data on a web server someplace, then erasing the app will not affect your progress.
It may be better to check on that app's website before deleting to see what they recommend.

  • Does iCloud restore game saves?

I'm having a few problems with Game Centre. It doesn't stay logged in for very long, which is annoying, and games like Cut the Rope Experiments keep crashing back to the home screen.
Also, frustratingly, my laptop won't back up my iPhone.
If I back up my iPhone to iCloud right now, restore my iPhone to factory settings, and then restore from iCloud, will I get my game saves back too?
    Thanks.

    1. Will iCloud restore the in-app data, including all of his classroom work?
    2. Not being the main passcode, can I get around the lost Restrictions-passcode some other, more simple way?
    1. Yes icloud will restore data and the passcode - completely useless for results
    2. No you can't get around.
Your 14 years old may have used some logical number and that is your only hope, cause the only difference between those pass codes,  with restrictions you
have unlimited amount of attempts as far as I know.
Loading apps from purchased does not save data. It is like brand new app.

  • I wanted to delete a app so I could redownload  to restore and start game over and so I deleted it then went to re down load and it says it's still installed so I can't re download but the I con is not any where on my iPad where can I find it?

Where do I find a I con that is gone but on the app store it says it's installed when I deleted the app to restore game and now I can't install the game because it says it already is but I deleted it and Icon doesn't show any where on my screen?

    Check here:
Settings>General>Usage>Show all Apps (you'll likely need to scroll down)
Find the app you wish to delete, tap on it, then tap "Delete App"

  • Restoring iTunes Games

I recently upgraded to a new computer and was able to bring all my iTunes music, podcasts, and videos back, but I did NOT get any of the games. I'm affraid to sync the games because it will remove what is on my iPod classic. I looked at aftermarket software packages, but I couldn't find one that restores games. I really don't want to have to buy them again. Can anyone suggest how I can get my games back on my iTunes?

I would have expected that since games are just another type of iTunes purchase you could use iTunes to copy your purchases directly from the iPod to the computer. I don't have any games so I can't give any more personal advice on this but you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
In the area of third party solutions I believe TouchCopy will transfer games from an iPod, you can find it at this link: TouchCopy

  • What will happen for games after restoring?

    Hello,
As my iphone has problem with push notification and it sends them even after reading the message, I want to restore my phone.  I have backup on iTuens but not sure if I restore to them it solves my problem, because created the backup last night, when there was this problem.
Also I am not sure what will happen on some games like NFS or Temple Run? How can I have the corrent score on the restored game?
    Thanks,

Hard to say, but if your problem is being caused by corrupt data on your phone, restoring from backup will merely restore the problem. What you could do is first try restoring from backup. If your issue is fixed, you're good to go. If not, then you'll have to restore as new.
