Restrict revaluation of existing stock after cost estimate

Hi experts,
Our users are having Finished goods in Standard price. I understand that there will be automatic posting in FI for updating existing inventory value once we release cost estimate. However, the users do not want this update.
Any chance that we can execute cost estimate, still release price to use for the new period but no inventory value update for existing inventory?
Thanks in advanced!!
Best Regards,
Jacqueline

Hi
I think it may not possible, However, release of cost estimates for not for inv val can be done.

  • Error during variance calculation for production order "NO cost estimate "

    hi all,
I'm gettin this error message while trying to calculate the variance for a production order. error is "No cost estimate for material xxxx for 01.10.2008.
when i look at material xxx in MM02, under cost estimate for current period there is a value but nothing for previous period. So i'm guessing the the Cost estimate was not run of this material? am i correct here?
Now if i try to run cost estimate for material for the missing periods using CK11N, i get an error "cannot save for past period"
Could some one tell me how can i get a prior year estimate into the material master?
I tried CK40N and CKN1 but just cant get it to work...
    Thanks heaps

    Hi Tom
unfortunately there is no easy way to get a product cost estimate for a past date. One of the reasons for this would be inconsistant product valuation.
You could in theory create a cost estimate in a current date and use an ABAP or manually adjust the valid from and to dates directly in the tables (e.g. KEKO). To do this in a production environment would be restrictive off course.
The standard cost estimate is the basis for the target costs so as an alternative you could look to change the configuration of the target cost version in OKV6 to either of the following:
    - Plan Cost/Preliminary Costing (that is the plan calc done on your production order)
    - Alternative Material Cost Estimate (one that is not necessarily a product costing that is set for marking and release).
I hope this is of some help.

  • How SAP use transfer control or material cost estimate

    Hello!
I have strategy "3-Previous standard cost estimate" in transfer control material cost estimate.
I have cost estimate for product AAA with status KA and costing date from 01.01.2014.
Product AAA produced from component BBB.
Component BBB has two cost estimates with costing date from 01.01.2014 and 01.02.2014.
I run cost estimate for product AAA with costing date from 06.03.2014.
Cost estimate not use existing cost estimate for component and create new cost estimate.
In help.sap.com contains next information about transfer strategy 3 - The system searches for existing previous cost estimate.
why my system does not use the existing cost estimate for component?
    Thanks for attention.

    Thanks, Szymon!
I use russian interface and read russian help. Where stragegy 3 has name "Прошедшая плановая калькуляция" which means "The last planned cost estimate".
    This led me astray.
In english help i read next:
    Previous standard cost estimates
The system searches for an existing previous standard cost estimate.
    You are completely right!
    two more questions:
    - We can not use strategy 3 if we not realesed cost estimate as standard price?
    - What strategy we should use for transfer material cost estimate with status KA?
    Thanks

  • Sytem restrictions during Releasing new Cost Estimate during the year

    Hi,
We are currently using Moving Average Price for Traded materials (Material type ZHAW) with Price Control indicator "V". We have an internal requirement to change the basis of valuation to Standard Cost immediately. Thus we have to change the following immediately before the close of the current Financial year:
    1) Change the Price control indicator from 'V' to 'S' in the material master of Traded materials.
    2) Thereafter, release new Standard cost estimates for all such materials in the current year. This is required because the business wants to have a different standard cost from the existing Moving average price.
I would like to know what are the system restrictions / safeguards to be taken care of before doing the above activities, since we are doing this before the period-end & year -end.
Your early response will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    R.Rajaraman

You can change the price control from V to S or vice versa. You might need some additional config for if required to send the price differnece to variances account in OBYC. Other than that since it is trading materials which are not produced you might not need Product Costing Planning.

  • CKCPRCH025-A current or future cost estimate exist

    Hi,
I am getting the error message while doing GR-A current or future cost estimate exist.
And its saying to follow the procedure that you can set the price of a marked cost estimate through the radio button 'Default planned price' and release it by saving.
Please help as where to correct this.
    Govind

    Dear,
I think you have not updated the Cost Estimate. Please check in Costing view 2 tab of Material Master under Future Price any cost exist for the current period.

  • CO - After cost revaluation is it possible to see its original value?

    Hi SAP consultants !
After cost revaluation is it possible to see both: the new cost (revaluated) and its prior value (before revaluation)? Despite I think it is not possible I searched for such information in some tables (COEJT, COEJL,  COEPL, and others) but find nothing.
    Thank you all,

Eli, Matej thanks for your input. My question is pretty much answered as for as CO-CCA is concerned, in that it cannot be done.
As for this requirement, I have decided to go another route in entering customer forecast data by using CO-PA. Entry of customer forecast data via SD schedule line (with MRP turned off) and having that data transferred to CO-PA.
    Thanks again,

  • K/834 no standard cost estimate and ke435 costing key 000 does not exist

    Hi ,
scenario as under we have following type of materials
normal Material that has cost estimate
    Configuarable material
Material without cost estimate -prices are updated thru MR21 (as some legacy system calculated the price)
There are many company codes and use one or more above  category of material. further we have common Material type and valuation class.
we need cost component split to get updated in COPA and for that i create 2 costing key one for normal and other for normal one and developed an enhancement (KEPC) that check whether material is configurable or not. based on that it assign 001 or 002 costing key
it went well but failed for material that has no cost estimate and got error K/834.
To tackle same we insert further logic to check for normal material whether cost estimate exist, if yes then assign costing key 001 else ignore it. configurable material logic remain as it is. it working fine for normal and Configuarable material but normal material without cost estimate resulted in error KE435.
    need to know:
-at first place why system  generates K/834 error for enhancement - earlier we were using assignment rule (KEPC) where we use valuation class and assigned costing key 001, it worked for normal one and ignore configurable one and normal material without cost estimate. I haven't changed costing key rule and exclusive error is not marked .
    - any other way to tackle besides resetting message class from error to warning or changing Materila type or valuation class as that is not acceptable due to other complexity.
    Regards,
    Atul

    Hi,
    It resolved thru enhancement

  • How do I revalue inventory for change in cost?

    Hi,
How do I revalue inventory for change in cost? BOM exists for manufactured Portland cement, backflusing relieves inventory per this BOM, however, old cost still appears as valuation for this product. I did a cost estimate for this product (2000000004), marked, and released this product. Effective date of this BOM was 07/01/2009.
    kindly help me
    Thanks
    Suvarna

    Dear Suvarna,
Once after taking a new released cost estimate for a product,it's stock gets automatically revaluated as per the new price or
    say new value.
Can you please confirm whether in the accounting view of the material master you are able to see the last price change date is
same as your cost estimate date.Only then it means the new price was marked and stamped properly and based on the new
standard price the stock get's valuated automatically.
There is no other transaction required for this process.
Check and revert back with your further queries.

  • Material ledger and standard cost estimate

    Hi Gurus,
When standard cost estimate is done in a scenario, where  material ledger is activated, does the entire stock get revaluated andl post a credit in my P/L? Is it possible  to keep my inventory(FG and SFG) at periodic unit price ie at the actual manufacturing price over a longer period say 3 years? Please fill this gap in my understanding.
    Best regards
    Vimal

    Hi Vimal,
Material ledger uses the standard price as 'preliminary price' always during the current month, independent of the question if a new standard price was estimated and released.
But: After period end, when the actual price is calculated the posting will adjust the inventory and P/L accounts to the actual price, with posting date in the recent period.
That means if you have a material that was manufactured once and then consumed over a 3 year period, and during that period you calculate the same material in a standard cost estimate with changing results, that would mean: Looking back at any month during the 3 years the consumption and stock values will be valued at the actual price of manufacturing. But during the currently open period it will always be valuated at the price of the last released cost estimate.
I hope I understood your scenario correct...
    Best regards,  Udo

  • CK11N, release new costing estimate

    Hello all experts,
Please help me on the following question, thank you!!
For example: Product A, it has a standard cost estimate which is released on 01.01.2010, it's costing date from is 01.01.2010 and costing end date is 31.12.2010. In the middle of the year, for example in May, the exchage rate was change a lot, so we want to release a new cost estimate for it. The costing start date is 01.05.2010 and costing end date is 31.12.2010.
My question is: Is it possible for me to do so directly in CK11N and then mark and release it in CK24?
    Thank you very much!!!
    Mavis

    Dear,
The Standard Cost Estimate/Costing  Run will be executed only in Company Code Currency i.e., Local Currency. Exchange rate differences will happen only during execution of Actual Postings.
For example : Goods Receipt of 100 units @ $ value of Rs. 45.
    Finished Goods Account   DR      4500
    GR/IR Clearing Account    CR       4500
    Invoice Receipt/Invoice Verification -MIRO:
    Invoice Receipt 100 units @ $ Value of Rs.48
If the stock is available, the Inventory/Stock Value will be revaluated with the new price. If the stock is not available the Exchange difference will be posted to Exchange Gain/Loss Account based on OBYC settings,  like this.
    Exchange Gain/Loss A/c     DR     300
    GR/IR clearing A/c               DR   4500
    Vendor A/c                            CR   4800
If you want to update the Material Master with new Standard Price, you need to Reorganize existing Cost Estimate through t-code CKR1 and re-run t-codes CK11N and CK24 for Mark and Release the new price.

  • Target Cost in the settled process order become zero after cost deletion

    Dear all,
User has standard cost estimates created in Jan 2010 that valid until the end of 2010 for every material in the system.  user created a process order in April 2010. Target cost of the order was created based on the standard cost estimate and recipes as well as order qty.    The order was also confirmed and settled in April 2010 without problem.
However, after I deleted all old costing estimates before I did a costing run for all materials in May 2010, the old order was resettled and all Target cost is removed from the order.  I guess system try to look at April costing estimate but it is not there since it was deleted before I created the new costing estimate in May.  Therefore, all varainces are throwed into remaining variances since the target cost become zero.
Other than mark the settled order for deletion or keep all old costing estimates,  I am just wondering is anyway in the configuration to prevent the system to recaculate the target cost again for the settlement so I can avoid the problem happens?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Target costs are only calculated after goods movements have occured on the order, the Target Costs are then calculated during the Variance calculation.
Target costs will only be calculated after the first goods receipt has been posted to the order. Also you have to ensure that the information to calculate target costs exists on the system in particular in OKV6.
This estimation is based on the customizing for the Target cost version in transaction OKV6 as in turn will the "real" calculation of the Target costs via the variance calculation.
So in OKV6 the Target cost will be based on preliminary costing on the order, an alternative cost estimate or the current standard cost estimate. Importantly if the choosen option is not fulfilled e.g. no current standard cost estimate, the target costs will not be predicted or calculated.
    regards

  • Material cost estimate with quantity structure (tcode: CK11N)

    Hey dear friends.
I donu2019t know in which forum I should put my question above.
In fact, Iu2019m new to SAP PM module.
Iu2019m trying to create material cost estimate with quantity structure (tcode: CK11N) for a material u201CXu201D.
    This material is manufactured.
While running the transaction CK11N, I got an error message.
After analyzing this error message, Iu2019ve realised that somebody had assigned wrong activity types to cost centers which are linked to this material in tcode: CR03, tab: costing.
So Iu2019ve changed and assigned the right activity types.
Then, Iu2019ve tried to run the tcode CK11N again. But the system still brings the wrong activity types and seems to ignore the ones that Iu2019ve assignedu2026
It seems like the old activity types still linked to the cost centers somewhere else than in tcode CR03u2026
Any idea about what am I mising ?
    Thank's in advance.
    Bahia.

    Dear Bahia,
If its rate routing means,i guess you must be working in REM scenario.
So goto CA22,delete the existing operation and then assign the same work center in a new
operation, check what activity types is it proposing in the rate routing,if its reflecting correctly means
    save the datas.
Also goto KKF6N--->click the change mode icon and then calculator button to create a preliminary cost
estimate and then save the datas.
One of our forum friend has asked you to check the production order read PP master data once
again, but understand there is no production order concept in REM scenario, only planned orders.
Then come back with your queries.

  • Cost estimate

    Hi Guru's
Our project go live was this month of 11th. At the time i run cost estimate for all the materials. But i know this is month end activity.
But my doubt is before next cost estimate for all the materials. Is it required for all the PP orders settlements are required or not.
I their any relation of Order settlement process and cost estimation for all the materials.
    Please give me the solution.
    Thx
    Siva Ala

    Dear Siva,
Production settlement is done at the month end,and cost estimate will be done in the month beginning
for the period. In some cases cost estimate may be carried out quarterly wise also.
There may be some production orders which may be carried out for more than a month. In that case at
the month end we cannot do the settlement, because the order will be still open for some confirmation.
From the Production order settlement point of view,
When a production order is settled, the actual costs incurred for the order are settled to one or more
receiver cost-objects (for example, to the account for the material produced or to a sales order).
Offsetting entries are generated automatically to credit the production order:
If the costs for the production order are settled to a material account, the order is credited each time
material is delivered to stock. The material stock account is debited accordingly.
If the costs for the production order are settled to another receiver (for example to a sales order), the
order is credited automatically at the time of settlement. The cost-objects are debited accordingly.
The debit posting remains in the order and can be displayed even after the costs have been settled. The
settled costs are updated in the corresponding receiver cost-object and can be displayed in reporting.

  • Release Cost estimates

    Hi all
Hope you all had a wonderful time during vacation.
I've got a problem here, when I'm trying to release the cost estimates. I get an error message that "Account 650300 requires an assignment to a CO object". The above gl account is a stock reval gains P&L account, but this problem was never there before.
Any ideas what could be the reason for this?
    Many thanks
    Rasa

    Hi,
    Good evening and greetings,
This revaluation is hit when there is a difference in Material Master price and the new Standard cost estimate...Earlier you would have defaulted a cost centre inside the cost element...please check inside the cost element for a cost centre...the best way to maintain is OKB9...Alternatively if CO-PA is active, the differences can be settled to the product hierarchy which is again a cost object.
Please reward points if found useful
    Thanking you
    With kindest regards
