RESTRICTION -POSTING FOR PREVIOUS F.Y.

Hi
We wish to restrict during any postings under fiscal year 2006 for all users across the globe and willing to allow only few users for posting any journal entries as per recommendations of statutory auditors.
At present, we have not given any access to the users for changing any posting period during data entry. The system redetermines the posting period based on posting date.
Please guide us, whether the above facility is available under SAP. If available, can we do this restriction through Basis?

Anilkumar

Hi,
If you want to use this authorization, proceed as follows:
o  Specify an authorization group for the allowed posting periods which
   are to be protected.
o  Define the authorization which you want to assign to selected
employees by listing the authorization groups allowed.
o  Assign this authorization using the corresponding profile.
If the  profiles have the value *, posting is permitted in every
period.
If you don't need it in your company, you can delete this; but clarify
the scope of the mentioned objects before with the author of the
object.
If only a limited set of users is to be able to post in a particular
posting period, proceed as follows:
o   Add the posting period authorization (authorization object
F_BKPF_BUP) to the authorizations of the selected users. Assign an
     authorization group
o   Enter the account type '+' for the posting period variant to which
the restriction is to apply. Enter the period(s) whose use is to be
restricted in the first period, those which are available to all
users in the second period, and the authorization group assigned
     above in the last column.
Please assign points if it useful.

  • Config for Restricting Posting for WBS Element

    Hi,
I would like to know if there is a central CO config that could restrict posting of WBS elements (set as not allowed for all WBS element posting). Another way to do this is to lock account assignment to prevent postings to come in but this would be difficult since there are too many WBS elements involved. (We only need to do this temporarily during cutover)
    Thanks!

  • Asset posting for previous year

    Dear Experts,
We're working in SAP for our Compnay since 2008. After that we've closed period for Asset in 2008 and 2009. But the problem is in year 2010 no body did post any asset in system due to shoratge of skilled manpower. Now in 2011 how can we post those asstes which we purchased in 2010. Even I can not do GR for purchased asstes in 2011 as we didn't close 2010. So, I need solution for two questions:
    - How can I do asset posting for 2010 now ?
    - How can I do asste posting for 2011 as we didn't close 2010?
I'm eagerly waiting for your suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.
    Ripon Kumar Paul

    Hi Paul
Please refer to following inline answer:
    - How can I do asset posting for 2010 now ?
A: first of all, you need to check if fiscal year 2010 in GL side is still open. If fiscal year 2010 in both GL and AA is open, then you can post AA transactions in 2010 as usual.
    - How can I do asste posting for 2011 as we didn't close 2010?
A: if transactions happened in 2011, then you can post those AA transactions in 2011 as usual. No matter whether fiscal year 2010 is opened or not.
    Hope itu2019s helpful.

  • Allow posting to previous period only for invoices (only invoices).

    Hi gurus,
We want to cancel invoice document s(MR8M) with the same date that the invoice was created (previous period). We know that we can use MMRV transaction for this but MMRV will posting of all MM documents, whereas we need to restrict posting  to previous period only for invoices.
It´s possible? Can you please help on this with complete steps?
    thanks!!!

I don´t know if there is a better way to do that, but you could flag the field "Allow Posting to Previous Period" in MMRV and configure the posting date in all the transaction (MIGO, MIRO, MB1A,MB1B, etc) for only display except MR8M transaction.

  • How tio restrict the generation of Calib.Maint Order for Previous dates

    Dear PM Guru's
i required one restriction option to prevent the generation of calibration  maintenance orders for previous dates.please under stand the full information in following example.
one of my gauge frequency was every 6months. for every 6months user wants one calibration order. in between these 6months frequency user checks the gauge for every 1month as a Inspection / verification of gauge. while uploading the data in SAP, user enters the dates 02.02.2011 as  a start of cycle, but we upload the data in sap 02.05.2011. on 05.05.2011 we will go for live. here system should generate the order every month as 02.03.2011,02.04.2011,02.05.2011,02.06.2011,02.07.2011,02.08.2011. As per out condition 02.08.2011 has Inspection / verification and calibration remaining months are inspection / verification. Now here how i can restrict the order generation for 02.03.2011,02.04.2011,02.05.2011dates. Please give me the suggestion and solution to avoid the order generation. if i left same as it is somany orders should be generated.
please help me. thanks so much in advance to all PM gurus.
    regards
    PM

    First method:
You can define offset in strategy so that first call will be created after the offset period (in your case, it is 4 months).
    Second method:
You can define the start date of cycle as 02.05. instead of 02.02, as system is going live only by 05.05.

  • Restrict display and posting for specific document types

    Hi,
Is it possible to restrict display and posting for specific document types? I want to restrict authorization to SM document type in FS10N, and KSB1 tcode. Please help
    Best Regards,
    KIRAN.

    Sandipan Choudhury wrote:
FS10N checks for this object ("Check" in Su24) but when user doesnot has this authorization object he gets access to all doc types and when the user is restricted to specific doc types (object present in user's authorization) he will get access to only those doc types. This is how the authorization check for F_BKPF_BLA works, in other words this authorization is Optional.
Sorry, but this is not true and seems to be an invention of how you would like it to work...
The coding works like this (generally):
        if sy-subrc ne 0.
          select single * from  t003 where blart = postab-blart.
          check sy-subrc = 0.
          blrtab-blart = t003-blart.
          blrtab-brgru = t003-brgru.
          append blrtab.
        endif.
if blrtab-brgru ne space.    "<--- important condition!!
          authority-check object 'F_BKPF_BLA'
               id 'BRGRU' field blrtab-brgru
               id 'ACTVT' field actvt.
          if sy-subrc ne 0.
            rcode = 4.
          endif.
        endif.
      endif.
The "optional" aspect is whether or not the document type has an auth group on it in T003, failing which the check is suppressed.
If it reaches the check, then it found something and then checks that selected value.
    Moral of the story:
    --> Do not believe SU53.
--> Do not make assumptions from ST01 traces.
    --> Read the documentation carefully.
--> Read the code to see how it really works (you can jump to the coding location from the trace).
    Cheers,

  • Manual postings to PCA for previous periods seems to get posted twice

    Dear All,
Actual postings to PCA are performed manually using a custom job from SA38. Postings were made in FI for all previous (closed) periods . After running those jobs for previous periods to transfer those entries, some companies and accounts are showing duplicate amounts or just a balance on comparison ledger and not in base ledger. How to correct this.
Thanks a lot for your help

    Hi
You will have to use 9KE0 or a custom job again to rectify this

  • Posting period issue while deleting a confirmation posted for a limit PO

    Hi ..
I am facing an issue whiel deleting a confirmation posted for a limit PO.
Confirmation was posted for a limit PO in SRM and it created a service entry sheet in SAP. If I deleted that confirmation in the same posting period, then it is getting deleted. No issue here.
But if I deleted that confirmation in the next posting period then the reversal document is going to error in process. RZ20 is showing the error "Positng only possible in periods 2012/2 and 2012/3".
Posting date of reversal document is current date only and the backend posting period is 2012/3, but still it is failing with this posting period error.
If I tried to delete a confirmation posted for a normal PO then I could able to delete it even in next posting period by just changing the posting date.
Why this posting occurs while deleting the limit confirmation, even through the posting date is falls within the backenn posting periiod? Is it like, SAP system is trying to delete the service entry sheet in original posting period? Kindly help.
    I am in SRM 5.0 (server 5.5) SP12.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    OK.
Well, if the variable is not used in any interval selection, then I would say "something happened to it".
I would make a copy of the query and run it to check if I get the same problem with period 12.
-> If not, something is wrong in the original query (you can proceed as below, if changes to original are permitted).
If so, then try removing the variable completely from the query and hardcode restriction to 12.
-> If problem still persists, I would have to do some thinking.
If problem is gone, then add the variable again. Check.
-> If problem is back, then the variable "is sick". Only quick thing to do, is to build an identical variable and use that one.
If problem also happens with the new variable, then it's time to share this experience with someone else and consider raising an OSS.
    Good luck!
    Jacob
P.S: what fisc year variant are you using?

  • How to change the posting date in UD stock posting for a HU managed item?

    Hi,
We are using Handling Unit managed items with QM activation. For a specific HU managed material, we wanted to post the stock on a previous date. We have created PO on a back date and made GR also on a back date. Now the problem is, the system has generated an inspection lot. Now while trying to do UD and stock posting, I do not see the "Doc" tab which we normally see in UD stock posting for normal inspection lots (non-HU managed items) for changing the date.
I don't see any other way to change the posting date for the HU managed item in UD stock posting. Anyone can help please?
    Thanks & Regards,

    I don't think you can.

  • "lock" values of tax depreciation for previous periods

    Hi all,
is it possible to lock calculated values of depreciation for previous periods? We need it for the case when e.g. depreciation key is changed. Then we want preserve the values for previous periods and change only the future values. But please note that we want this for depreciation area, which does not post values to GL.
    thanks
    Zbynek

    Hi,
It did not work for me. I changed the useful life from 30 to 20 yrs and then used menu path Edit/Recalculate values. Then I used the Tx S_ALR_87012936 to display the depreciation values for individual months. But all the values were the same, i.e. the values for previous periods were not kept.
So is there a way to keep these values?

  • Invoices not posted for accounting(Error:Max. no of items in FI is reached)

    Dear Experts,
I have an issue in the billing document. It is not getting posted for Accounting even it is 23(230)and in some cases it is 30 lines line items in it.
It is shoing the error as Max. no of items in FI is reached.
This problem is in Production client only.As we have seen and checked the setting in all the client. It is same every where.
    Could any one help.
The SAP help says:The number of accounting line items are restricted to 999 therefore your billing document line items should be significantly less than that to prevent a failure to post an accounting document.
There are two options open to you, one is to split the billing document automatically each time a maximum number of line items are reached, take a look at IMG > Billing >Country Specific Features > Maximum number of Billing Items, then in your copy control line item Data VBRK/VBRP include the following codeu201D

    Hi,
Check Note 36353 'AC interface: Summarizing FI documents', it give you ideas as how you can avoid this big number of FI items.
    I hope this helps you,

  • Vendor master - restricting posting and allowing payment run

    Hi,
We have a list of Vendors which needs to be deleted.
Our requirement is that we have certain Vendors who have open items, so our requirement to restrict further postings to the Vendor but allow the open items for Payment run.
Is there a possibility in SAP for such facility?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
    Good morning and greetings,
There is an option to achieve your requirement without blocking the vendor.
Step No.1 : Establish a purchasing block for the vendor and that would mean no purchases can be made from the vendor and in turn no open items. Please go through the following link for more understanding.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/53/c9866eca3711d2b494006094b9114a/frameset.htm
Step No.2 : There are chances that user can still use FB60 to create invoice for vendor...to control that, create a validation rule in OB28 stating that no entry can be posted for the vendor code...if it is going to be for a set of vendors then create a set ID using GS01 for those set of vendors and call the set ID in OB28...This step would arrest the open item being created for the vendor.
In this way, the vendor master would be still open for making payments for the existing open items, but no new open items would come for the vendor.
Once the open items are cleared, delete the vendor once and for all.
I am sure this would meet your requirement.
Please reward points if found useful
    Thanking you
    With kindest regards
    Ramesh Padmanabhan
