Returning money to customers

Hi all.
Business scenario is like this:
- ACME ltd. issues an invoice to a John Doe to $100
- John Doe accidently pays $120
- After he realizes that, John $20 of his money back to his bank account. He doesnt want it to be left over for clearing the next invoice nor he wants to be payed via cash journal. He is willing to provide the bank account details.
What would be the best way of handling this situation?
One of the solutions (ill try to leave this for the last option) is creating manual payment to his bank account and then recording it via FPE1 transaction. Is there any payment run option that would go throught the contract account, select the candidates (or let me choose them), and then create a bank payment form?
Thanks!
Marko

Marko:
for that open item - go to payment data tab and enter/maintain a payment method, eg check or ACH.  ACH would require the data to be stored on the BP.
Alternately, you can go to txn FPTCRPO and process the credit individually.
regards,
bill.

  • Returnable packaging from customers

    Hi,
how Returnable packaging from customers is handled in sd module... in sales order, delivery.... etc.
could someone explain with the help of a business scenario with config.
    regards
    sachin

    Hi..
When you sell goods to a customer, you may send the goods in returnable packaging. During sales order processing, you simply enter the returnable packaging as an item in your order. You can process returnable packaging either as main items or as sub-items. For example, if you sell drinks in bottles and want the empty bottles to be returned, you can enter the bottles as sub-items for the drinks in the sales order. The item category group LEIH must be assigned to the bottles in the material master record so that they are processed as returnable packaging. During processing, the system recognizes that it is dealing with returnable packaging because the item category group LEIH is assigned to the material. The system then determines another item category in the sales order to allow the material to be processed as returnable packaging. As a result of entering returnable packaging in a sales order, the system carries out the following actions.
If special stock does not yet exist in your inventory for the customer (or special stock partner), the system creates it when goods issue is posted
The relevant quantity is removed from regular inventory in your plant and is added to the special stock for the customer. The total valuated stock for the plant remains the same.
The transaction is not relevant for pricing since the consignment stock remains the property of your company.
    Returnable Packaging Pick-Up
If the customer returns the returnable packaging to you, you record the transaction in the system by creating a returnable packaging pick-up order (order type LA). As a result, the system carries out the following actions:
When goods issue is posted, the relevant quantity is deducted from the customeru2019s special stock and is added back into your regular stock at the plant where the goods are returned. Your total valuated stock remains the same since the returned stock was regarded as part of your own inventory even while it was at the customeru2019s premises.
This transaction is not relevant for billing.
    Returnable Packaging Issue
In the following situations, you can create a returnable packaging issue order (order type LN):
The customer decides to keep the returnable packaging
The customer damages the returnable packaging and you decide to charge the customer
The customer sells the returnable packaging to a third party
As a result of processing a returnable packaging issue, the system carries out the following actions:
When goods issue is posted, the relevant quantity is deducted from both the customeru2019s special stock and your own total valuated stock.
The transaction is relevant for billing since the goods have become the property of the customer.
    Sales Order Types
The following table provides an overview of the order types used in the standard system for processing returnable packaging:
    Transaction
    Sales order type
    Returnable packaging pick-up
    LA
    Returnable packaging issue
    LN
When you ship returnable packaging to the customer, you do not need to use a special order type. The transaction is a normal business transaction and you can use either a standard sales order or, if appropriate, a free of charge delivery.
    Pricing and Availability Check
Whether pricing is carried out for the individual transactions depends on the item category. The schedule line category controls the availability check and the transfer of requirements in each of the transactions. The schedule line category itself is determined by the item category and the MRP type of the material. The order types LN and LA check against returnable packaging for the relevant customer. Requirement records for returnable packaging stock are stored as individual requirements, independently of the setting in the material master record.

  • How to treat returned goods from customers

    Hi,
How do I treat returned from customers in SAP FICO? The example I have in mind is if company decides to break down raw materials from the finished goods and re-use it Maybe anyone of you have other examples. But in any case, what I want to know is how we treat it in Finance? What are the accounting entries upon return and upon re-use?
    Thanks,
    Josef

    Hi Josef
    Quite an interesting question!!
    1. when you receive the returned goods,
               Stock Dr
                  Change in Stock Cr
    2. Assume your material returned is FG A and it has components B and C... Now you want to cannibalize A and retrieve B and C out of it
This process is more like a rework.. Process steps could be as below
    a. Create a Production order for B - Planned Qty = 1 (Separate order type)
    b. Component in the Production order will be FG A (1 Qty)
    c. Add Component C as a By Product in the Production order BOM i.e. with Qty =  - 1 (Negative)
    d. If you wanna add any Labor or machine hrs, you can aadd manually in the Production order operations
Now, when FG is consumed in the Prod order,
        Consumption of FG   Dr
               Stock   Cr
When stock of B and C will be received,
         Stock of RM   Dr
Change in stock / COGM  Cr

  • What is T code for return  money of advance payment.

    hello Gurus.

now some money is not spent by site engineer. and They want to revoke it back  to account department.
so how acount department take entry of that money.
which t code is use to collect that money back.
    we are waiting your reply.
    Regard,
    Riten patel

    Dear,
Create one special G/L for advance payment to site engineer. For e.g. you have create special G/L T - Advance to site engineer.
Whenever you make advance payment of Rs. 1000 to site engineer the entry will be - Use transaction F-02
    PK              Account                 Sp G/L          Amount
    29               Vendor a/c                 T                 1000
    50               Cash a/c                                       1000
When engineer returns Rs. 200. then - Use transaction F-02
    PK              Account                 Sp G/L          Amount
    39               Vendor a/c                 T                 200
    40               Bank a/c                                       200
It is better if you create your own document type for e.g. ZR - Return of adv payment from engineer so that this transaction will identified very easily.

  • BT Are Stealing Money From Customers

Hi, i recently. Contacted a BT sales agent who, explained the new BT Package. I paid a fee of £141 up front, as was explained this allowed for cheaper monthly payments. The funds have been taken from my card. I did not get an order reference proviced to me as the sales person explained there few things to sort out and would call back and if i missed the call i would get an email witht he details.
When i contacted BT today. They have no record of an order placed. to the address or me.
I have the sales persons name, but feel it inappropriate to mention on a forum.
From talking to a advasor at BT today, it is not looking positive i will be getting the money back as there is record of.

  • Returns Process for Customers

    Hi,
I understand about the Standard Process of Return Sales. After Creation of Return Sales Order and creation of Returns Delivery with reference to Returns Sales Order things are clear.
My Question is after Creation of Return Sales Order we need to create Credit Memo for the Returns happened. System is giving an Error. When observed in Copy Controls from Sales Document to Billing Document VTFA I have not found SAP Standard Copy Controls i.e. RE to G2 such that I can configure with my Document Types.
Can some one suggest a Solution how to create a Credit Memo wrt Returns Order.
    Regards
    Hari

    Hi
    Welcome to SDN
Standard SAP return process from the customer
RE is the return sales order type in VOV8
LR is the return delivery type in OVLK
RE is the returns billing type in VOFA It is RE billing type and not G2 (  These  two settings are configured in VOV8 for RE sales doc type)
When you do a return sales from the customer with RE  sales document type the item category determined will be REN
If you go the config of REN in VOV7  the billing relevance  will be order related billing
This means that you have to do  return billing  RE referencing your sales order created with doc type RE and not delivery
This means the copy controls in VTFA should be properly defined between source sales doc type RE and tgt billing type RE at header level and for item category REN (it is already readily available in standard no need to worry)
This RE billing type is also a credit memo only used for returns
So when you create a return sales order without doing  return delivery and PGR you can do return billing
The delivery part can be done later
This is how SAP has defined the return process
Based on the business requirement you cal also customize to match the needs
So in returns the billing type is not G2 and it is RE

  • Apple steals my money - they lost my UPC label and no rebate!!!

I found a very bad attitude of Apple about rebate claims.
I bought MAcBook and Canon printer with perfect companion promotion.
Then, I sent UPC labels from the boxes.
They lost my UPC label (of course, they deny their fault) and then said no label and no rebate!
    I cannot believe this.
I have a copy of it, but it is also non-acceptable.
So, just lost claims and save lots of money from customers?
I'm thinking returning all of items from Apple.

I would have to disagree about the photocopies. You cannot send an original rebate request with photocopies it must be the original upcs. However, I sent in a Sony rebate that was somehow lost I contacted the company handling rebates for Sony and they asked me to send in copies of my rebate coupon, upcs, and sales receipts they were accepted as proof and I was issued my rebate. In some cases this can work, but I don't know about Apple in this case. You might want to try again and send a letter explaining your situation and enclose copies of all docs. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

  • Why doesn't Adobe reward its existing customers?

I see today Adobe once again is offering 40% off new customer's first year subscriptions. This is extremely frustrating. As someone who signed up for Creative Cloud within the first month of release, I've been paying the full price for the last three years.
Adobe should reward their customers who have been on board since the beginning. It's frankly insulting that the people who have kept them going in the early days when they faced a lot of scrutiny and backlash for switching to a subscription service are still bankrolling them 3 years in, while they continue to entice new customers with a huge annual discount. It was understandable when Adobe offered that deal early on to build their install base. They said very clearly back then it would be a limited time offer. Yet they've made the offer multiple times now and it continues. I'm paying $600 US a year while new people pay $360.
I really hope other users in the same situation comment on here and encourage Adobe to reward those customers who have been on board since day one. Honestly if they don't, I'm just going to cancel my renewal and sign up at the end of May under my wife's name. A loophole that will work, but frankly I don't think we should need loopholes to save money for a service by a company that presents a strong image of customer loyalty.
Hope Adobe's listening and others will agree with me here...
    Beverley Gray

Well I'm sorry to say but you're wrong, just tried signing up with a dummy account. See the screen below. Clicking on the "Accept" button takes you to the payment screen, with NO request for confirmation of previous Adobe packages.
This is an offer being made to NEW customers, period. No previous allegiance to the brand. My point of view stands, Adobe should really step up and offer something in return to those customers who've been paying full price for CC since the beginning. This $30 introductory rate shouldn't be offered 3 years in, CC isn't some break-out thing trying to gain traction anymore, it has a massive install base. This is spitting in the face of people who've always been on board. kglad

  • Query to return separate rows for date range including NULLs

I'm trying to write a query that will return all customers from table 1. Table 1 also provides a start date and an end date that may be different for different customers. Left join with Table 2  provides all matches and NULL if NO matches.
If there is any match at all, I do not get the NULLs for other dates. There should be a match for each date from start to end. How can I write the code so that my return will loop thru each date and provide the match or NULL?

Sorry. I am somewhat new to this and am not sure what you are requesting. I receive a return of all customers with the code below but if customer 1 has a start date of 1/1/15 and a stop date of 1/5/15 and a document exists for 1/1/15 and 1/3/15
I do not receive the rows with NUL for 1/2/15, 1/4/15, and 1/5/15 which is what I'm trying to accomplish. If there is no match at all, I only receive the one row with NULL and I would like to see a row for each date from start to stop.

  • Credit memo for returns

    Hi experts,
If I want to create credit memo only after return delivery has been PGR, is it proper to make credit memo create with reference to return delivery? You know, SAP standard is to create this kind of credit memo with reference to return order.
If not proper, is it the reason that credit memo is set in SAP to create with reference to order or billing?
    Pls advise. Many thanks.

    Hi
In standard SAP credit memo billing RE is created with reference to credit memo order type RE not with reference to return delivery  and PGR
The basic reason is  return order item category REN is billing relence is Order releted billing hence it doesnot refer to return delivery
In VOV7 if you make the billing relevance as A that is delivery related billing  for REN then system  will allow you to create credit memo with reference to return delivery only
This is the first customization reqd
Secondly there should be copy controls in VTFL between delivery type LR to billing type RE at header level and at item level for item category REN defined properly
This may not be there in standard settings and this we should define
Normally VTFA is referred for order releted billing and we are making that as delivery related so we should define copy controls in VTFL
is it proper to make credit memo create with reference to return delivery?
This is purely a client call
In one my assignments the major requirement was to create returns credit memo with reference to delivery (returned delivery qty ) only
    His business prctise was
his customers will telephonically give the return order for 5 units and send back only 4 units to him
In this case if he makes a return return order for 5 and make a returm credit memo for 5 then that is not proper
So we made this customization to him for creating  return credit memo with with reference to  return delivery
His customers will telephonically give the return order for 5 units and send back only 4 units to him That was his operational shortcomings but we had to set the system accordingly
We used to close the balance 1 unit with reason of rejection
So according to me it is more proper to create return credit memo with reference to return delivery
