Reverse feature of "Go to Bookmark"

In Adobe Reader 9, is there a feature so that from any displayed document page the corresponding bookmark can automatically be found and displayed?
As an example of the need for that feature, I have a 3500-page PDF in which each page is bookmarked. The content of each bookmark is a detailed page reference, and thus the bookmarks provide a citation system for the entire document. While it is straightforward to click a bookmark and thereby "go to" the page which is linked to that bookmark, the opposite does not seem to be possible. In other words, if page 1500 is presently displayed, there is no feature to show the bookmark for that page.
The "Highlight Current Bookmark" feature is only a partial solution for this issue. That feature does not de-nest nested bookmarks, and it does not "go to" a bookmark that is higher or lower in the bookmark tree than the portion of the bookmark tree which is currently displayed.

Why do you not offer a reversion feature when you crash my add on with updates?
I at my advanced age rely on the norton toolbar for storing and remembering my multitude of logins. It seems as if every time you update firefox, I lose this feature and have to search the internet for an hour to find and download the prior version of firefox to get it back, and often it auto updates again within hours and wipes out that effort. Why can you not offer a reversion feature when you update? I have voiced this complaint repeatedly over several years. I am happy with firefox with that one exception. It is VERY annoying and time consuming.
You could set your Firefox to notify you of updates, and give Norton a few days to update before actually updating Firefox. To set that, use this dialog:

The "Check for Updates" option might fit the bill. Definitely easier than rolling back an update. -
I have sync linked to my main laptop. I recently wanted to merge my secondary laptop bookmarks with my main laptop bookmarks and when I linked my secondary, the stupid sync feature overrode all the bookmarks I had on the secondary! WHYYYYYY??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~>:(

Where is the "import/export" feature for backingup/restoring bookmarks file?
In 3.6x, I could go to the Bookmarks tab and open the "Export bookmarks" and backup up my bookmarks to an external back up drive. Conversely, I could go to the Bookmarks tab and open the "Import bookmarks" and bring in a saved bookmark file. I upgraded to 9 this evening and, so far, in 9, for the life of me, I can't find the "Import bookmarks" / "Export Bookmarks" feature. In the past, I've experienced crashes whereby I've lost ALL of my bookmarks. With 3.6x, I could backup the bookmark file daily if I so desired but, with 9, I can't do it! HELP!

And, well, DUH!...I've used "Show all bookmarks" so many times, over the years, I simply forgot what it was called!...I would just go there, click on it and do my backups...When I went to do so, last night, with 9.0.1, I simply didn't recognize it and, thought "Show all bookmarks" would somehow "unpack" all the carefully-foldered bookmarks I've developed over the years...

Hi, when I add a bookmark (on iphone), all the directories (including subdirectories) are shown at once. When you have many directories (nested within each other), it becomes cumbersome to find the relevant directory you want to add the bookmark to. This could be made easier by allowing one to only view the directories within the current folder, and not also show all the subdirectories

I know what you mean. I have extra bookmarks that need cleaned out because I got a little lost in placing them and went back and placed them again. -
With previous versions of Firefox, I was always asked this question whenever I exit the web browser and turning my laptop off: Do you want to save your bookmarks?... At least that was the message of the question. Right now, my only option is actually closing all the bookmarks and manually opening each one of them or starting from a saved bookmark list.

After performing the sync yesterday, I deleted my bookmarks on my old computer, because I am going to be giving it to my wife to use and wanted to let her create her own bookmarks. Is there a way to reinstall an older version to avoid the loss of my valuable extensions an a feature (where there are no add-on upgrades) without first uninstalling the current version.
A great feature now missing from the 34 or 35 version forward, is where I could previously grab a tab, and drop it into my bookmarks and if necessary (which is always), simultaneously scroll up or down with the mouse and drop it in. NOW, i either have to scroll the bookmarks first and then grab and drop, or I have to drag the tab over to the top or bottom of the bookmarks screen for the system to recognize that it's there before it scrolls for me, then drop it to the correct location. Was this feature too difficult to keep from crashes occurring? This feature compensated for a bookmarks save window feature lost in version 3+ for which there is no add-on currently.

Importing Safari bookmarks into IE on Windows XP Pro
I was just given an old PC by my mom. I'm using RDC to control it with my iBook (very nifty - I can sit down here in the living room and control that dumb PC upstairs!). Anyway, is there a way to import my Safari bookmarks into Internet Explorer on the PC?

Use Safari's File --> Export Bookmarks... command to export your bookmarks to a file. I suggest you save the file to your Desktop so that you can find it easily.
Copy that file to your Windows computer and then use Internet Explorer's import feature to import your bookmarks.

I can't import bookmarks (from Firefox) or Sync bookmarks using sync

I'm on a mac desktop and running Firefox 21. I want to import the bookmarks from my laptop and so I have tried the following without any success.:
1. Saving Firefox Bookmarks as a HTML file and using Import Bookmarks feature in 'show all bookmarks'
2. Use sync to sync both machines.
On each occasion, using both methods, I can see the bookmark structure but only the folders seem to be imported and when I hover over the folder the message 'empty' is displayed.
I'm not sure what else I can do but it seems that Firefox will not actually import its own exported files from and identical version of Firefox: 21.You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Can't find out how to organize my bookmarks. can't do it after updating. Person tried to help, we had long conversations, I sent lots of images, it got to where I think the answer given were not related to the problem. I asked for help from a technician or to give my emails to one. She won't do it and I can't get help. So I'm starting over. It shouldn't be this hard. I need someone else to help me.

You say you have a lot of duplicate bookmarks, and want to know how to organize bookmarks, but from the pictures shown, I really only see a news subscription, some sample bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar that you don't display on the toolbars so I don't see point in deleting anything there most of it are reports from the database or from a news subscription nothing of much concern, really. I would dump the news subscription if you don't use it.
How do you want to arrange your bookmarks, but you must keep within some boundaries of what was expected of the three major folders.
Bookmarks Menu -- this is your folder categorized bookmarks, originally all bookmarks were in this folder and the bookmarks toolbar was one folder within -- that has changed.
Bookmarks Toolbar -- intended to be visible on the toolbar with main bookmarks and folders spread out horizontally to save one level of drilling down into folders, with very few bookmarks and folders visible on the toolbar but quickly accessed. You can use the bookmarks showing essentially as buttons a few primary bookmarklets. You can have folder structure there so you could actually have thousands of bookmarks there within folders.
Unsorted Bookmarks (no folders within by intent not by restriction) -- new concept to not categorize bookmarks into folders because of bookmark tagging. Delicious.com will show you what they intended where you have lots of people. I think the concept of tagging breaks down with one person. The other reason bookmarks no longer had to be put into folders was the "AwesomeBar" feature of Firefox that is a great feature it will find bookmarks whatever folder they are in -- I hope you are familiar with it. You can throw bookmark separators into any folder but they are especially useful in the unsorted bookmarks folder, especially if you sort the folder. In other words a group probably within a date range.
So how do you see yourself categorizing your bookmarks ?
I'd like to get an idea of '''how many bookmarks '''you have altogether and how big your places.sqlite file is. To find out how many bookmarks you have all together bring up the Bookmarks Library list, place a colon (":") into the search field this will do a find on all of your bookmarks. At the bottom of the library window you will see the total number of bookmarks you may have to nudge the vertical scrollbar down, and as long as no bookmarks are selected you will see an '''item count'''.
Open your profile folder Help > Troubleshooting information... then click on "Open containing folder" then looking in bookmarkbackups folder and report size of last .json file in there -- hope you can see the extension the filenames have dates.
From the library list you can see if you actually do have a lot or any duplicated by eyeballing the list sorted by the location. You don't want to delete anything yet until you know what you want to do and what folders the bookmarks actually in, as you would not want to delete a categorized bookmark for an uncategorized one.
I have 1256 bookmarks, a bookmarks backup file (.json) is 1849 KB.
I have 750 of those bookmarks have a keyword shortcut -- most of my bookmarks may not actually be bookmarks to webpages.
Install the "Show Parent Folder" extension, it would be important for manually categorizing and deleting bookmarks.

At some point you will want to install the "Sort Places" extension that allows you to sort folders recursively in a matter of seconds. Only sort when you want to sort, never automatically.

The columns in the bookmarks library list that I show are
:Name, Location, Parent Folder, visit date, visit count, Keyword, Description, Last Modified
The important columns for eliminating duplicates are
:Name, Location, Parent Folder, Keyword, Description
:if you have Tags then that column would also be important not to delete the bookmark
Sort on Location look for duplicates, expect you won't find as many as you thought you would, because Firefox makes it difficult to create duplicates if you use the bookmarks star. I wouldn't delete any until you really know what you want to do, if you have duplicate you would not want to delete one a primary location based on parent directory or the one you use with a keyword.
I don't really think you have much to delete in your toolbars list, they are basically examples. Would highly recommend you keep something in the bookmarks toolbar even though you are not displaying it.
The only case of having major duplicates are if you have imported bookmarks at the bottom of your bookmarks menu also named bookmarks menu or something similar. You would see that in the parent folder column -- you cannot sort on the parent folder column. -
Firefox 13.0+ bookmarked RSS feeds won't auto refresh
Hello. Since Firefox 13.0 and above (up to the latest 17 pre alpha nightly) the feature that allows your bookmarked RSS feeds to be automatically updated is GONE. Previously popular browser.bookmarks.livemark_refresh_seconds (I had to enter this value) either broken or does not exist in the latest FF versions, it is simply does not work.
I've tried everything, starting from disabling add-ons to safe mode but nothing helps in solving this problem. Could you please tell if this is a bug or this feature is no longer supported in Firefox so I can stop bothering and switch to another browser

Where is the folder containing all my bookmarks?
I need to locate the folder on my C: drive containing the bookmarks I saved through Firefox. This is easy to do with IE. I have a Favorites icon on my desktop and I can open it and see all my bookmarks.
The same question applies to Xmarks. Xmarks lists all my bookmarks but I have to access them from the browser. I need the folder.
I haven't started using Delicious yet, so maybe that's a solution to organizing bookmarks. But so far, none of the applications or Add-ons for organizing bookmarks works. The best solution is to organize them manually. I create my own folders then transfer the bookmarks into the folders they belong in.
Even Yahoo Bookmarks doesn't have an import feature. So if I want to use it, I have to start from scratch.

The library may not look much at present, because you have not started using it, but it is highly customisable.
Even without using any bookmark related extensions. The library feature of firefox allows you to move around bookmarks and folders of bookmarks easily. You can drag and drop &/or copy and paste.
It is easy with firefox to for instance have rows of folders on the bookmarks toolbar each with nested bookmarks folders, you can also tag bookmarks, and or use shortcut keywords of one or more letters. Or you can open them from the bookmark menu, or the bookmark sidebar, and if you wish the location bar will utilise them.
You can temporarily re-sort your library, with a mouse click or two, by any column heading either up and down or down to up. You can export the bookmark library files as HTMl if you want.
'''However''' firefox works with the bookmarks in a special format and the files have the extension .json Be very careful if you work with them. Firefox does automatically create some autobackups, but if used they overwrite existing bookmarks, you must remember to make manual backups first.

Creation and Reversal are veiwed as two different business processes by SAP. Thats why you have reversal process for every creation process.
It really doesnt matter, if the finance postings have been done for a particular invoice or not...........it is a business functioanlity that is provided by SAP. Creating Credit memo or Debit memo are part of this reversal process.
As you know, Billing / Invoicing comes under the SD functionality. When an invoice is created, an accounting document is automatically created. In the actual business scenario.........the invoice amount is still due.
But the actual payment is physcially received by the company, the finance dept does an payment receivables and clears the postings.
Creating an invoice and sending a copy to your client is a part of the business process that is handled by the sales dept.
on the other hand, handling the amounts received from the customer is your internal process i.e. postings.

I've found a workaround and now his bookmarks are back in order by date added, but they are reversed, i.e., the last bookmark is at the top.
For those wanting the workaround (as I see this question was never properly answered) I opened "Show all Bookmarks", clicked on Bookmarks Menu, and View, Sort, and Sort by Added.
Then highlighted all his bookmarks, and copied.
Then created a new folder in the Bookmarks Menu, and pasted to that new folder.
I then created another folder and did it again as a backup, and deleted all his bookmarks in alphabetical order, then opened one of the folders I just made, copied the bookmarks and pasted them into the Bookmarks Menu.
(I made that extra folder just in case things didn't go as planned. He would have understandably freaked out had I deleted all his bookmarks without making another backup of them! After I saw that everything was cool, I deleted the extra folder.)
But still the order is reversed.
How do I reverse the reversed order?I am trying to think how your friends bookmarks came to be in a different order permanently and how you may be able to reverse that.
I note you have been copying bookmark folders. You have already discovered that the sort orders used to display may be varied and that second clicks toggle the order to be ascending or descending. If you copy a bookmark folder contents they retain the order that they were sorted on in the display when copied.
So if you have a folder. The bookmarks are in the order in which they were added. You may however display them in Alphabetical or reverse alphabetical order or reverse of the order added etc.
