RFC Sender problem  between 46D and RFC adapter

Hi,
I have this simple integration scenario where I want to send data to a archiving system;
SAP -> (tRFC) -> XI -> (MQ) -> BizTalk -> (MQ) Arch.syst.
SAP side ***
A Z-program using a Z func. like;
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZSD_DCF_SEND_TAG'
      IN BACKGROUND TASK
      DESTINATION 'XISYSTEM_TRFC_DCF'
      EXPORTING
        pt_filing_info = gt_filing.
    COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.
XI side ***
Both IR and ID is configured correctly, in the development environment everything works just great. I have created a test program where I can define how many calls I will do, looping over the func. call with a commit inside the loop - 500 or more msgs are ok.
The integration scenario is transported to quality enviroment using CMS, and the RFC sender comm.ch. is configured accordingly.
The problem in quality ***
When sending just 1 msg, everything is just fine, message received and delivered to MQ.
When sending >= 2 msgs, the 1 msg is always ok, BUT all others fails due to the following from Adapter monitor;
RFC_HISTORY
- Error: 2006-01-19 10:55:18 CET: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed for channel 'RFCSender_XI0002' (02d4d30de3593874942ed0659add0827, party '', schema 'TechnicalSystem', identifier 'Q93#120')
- OK: 2006-01-19 10:55:17 CET: Message processed for interface ZSD_DCF_SEND_TAG
My sending system is Q93 CLI 505 so I can understand the error, BUT I cannot understand why the RFC adapter is saying the TechnicalSystem is Q93#120 - it should be Q93#505. My Q XI has client 120...
It seems to me that the RFC adapter is kind of confused about the sender..
I have created a OSS message and SAP has looged on and looked into it with both a XI expert and RFC expert without being able to answer - all is configured correctly.
- The SLD config. for bus.system Q93 is ok -
- The bus.system in ID is showing correct vaues for
Adapter Specific Identifiers (SID Q93, client 505)
- Both Dev. and Qual. environment are running on XI 3.0 SP 14 latest patch, RFC component version on the SAP side is identical between dev. and qual. SAP systems
- It doesn't matter which gw I use (Q93 gw or XI gw), the error is persistent
- It doesn't matter if I increase initial conn, max conn.
I have also tried to use qRFC instead, but with the same result.
Anyone using tRFC for asynch. communication from SAP to XI seeing something similar?
Meanwhile, I will do RFC trace on GW and RFC Adapter on AE....
Please, do not say SP15, oss msg for FAQ RFC adapter or links to RFCAdapter config....
best regards
Torstein

Hi,
SAP Note 730870 FAQ: XI 3.0 RfcAdapter Q.no 15
<i>Q 15: Whats wrong when the error message "lookup of alternativeServiceIdentifier via CPA-cache failed" shows up while sending a RFC call to the RfcAdapter?
A: A RFC sender channel is located beneath a service within the Integration Directory. Within this service choose "Service" -> "Adapter-Specific Identifiers". The values in the fields "R/3 System ID" and "Client" has to be maintained with the correct values of the system, that sends the RFC call to the RfcAdapter. It normaly only makes sense to have these values filled for services of type "Business System". If maintained in SLD, this fields will be filled automaticaly for services of type "Business System" and can be updated with the button "Compare with System Landscape Directory".</i>
- Give correct appserver and gateway service details in XI.
- Open the service holding the RFC adapter you are trying to use. On the top menu, goto Service -> Adapter Specific Identifiers..

  • Dynamic link send problem between AE and CS4

Every clip or composition I attempt to send to AE CS3 causes an App Hang in Premiere CS4. AE opens, but no clip appears, then CS4 hangs. After about 5 minutes it responds and gives a message that it could not link
Going the other way seems to partially work, for instance AE linking to CS4 capture module from a new AE project, but sending a project to CS4 does not work--nothing happens, and no error messages.
Anyone else having this problem? Any potential solutions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks josh, I'll stop pounding my head against the bricks.
I was beginning to suspect that. Strangely, when choosing to Replace with AE composition, it goes as far as opening AE CS3, but then hangs for a while, then unhangs and says it can't find AE.

  • Difference between idoc and rfc

what is the difference between idoc and rfc? when and where it is used? when there is idoc, why rfc vice versa?

IDoc (for intermediate document) is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system.
IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions:  Each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database.
Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
A large enterprise's networked computing environment is likely to connect many geographically distributed computers to the main database. These computers are likely to use different hardware and/or operating system platforms. An IDoc encapsulates data so that it can be exchanged between different systems without conversion from one format to another.
IDoc types define different categories of data, such as purchase orders or invoices, which may then be broken down into more specific categories called message types. Greater specificity means that an IDoc type is capable of storing only the data required for a particular transaction, which increases efficiency and decreases resource demands.
An IDoc can be generated at any point in a transaction process. For example, during a shipping transaction process, an IDoc may be generated that includes the data fields required to print a shipping manifest. After a user performs an SAP transaction, one or more IDocs are generated in the sending database and passed to the ALE communication layer. The communication
layer performs a Remote Function Call (RFC), using the port definition and RFC destination specified by the customer model.
The IDoc is transmitted to the receiver, which may be an R/3, R/2, or some external system
    RFC
Remote Function Calls (RFC) and data exchange through IDoc message documents. RFC makes direct and synchronous calls of a program in the remote system. If the caller is an external program it will call an RFC-enabled function in R/3 and if the calling program is the R/3 system it will call an RFC-function in another R/3-system or it will call a non-R/3 program through a gateway-proxy (usually rfcexec.exe). BAPIs are a subset of the RFC-enabled function modules, especially designed as Application Programming Interface (API) to the SAP business object, or in other words: are function modules officially released by SAP to be called from external programs.

    Hi,
BAPI's are associated with Business Objects and also they are RFC enabled.
But RFC's are the FM's which can be called from external systems, those FM's can be used in many places based on the applications..

  • Difference between BAPI and RFC?

    Difference between BAPI and RFC?
also where to use BAPI and where to use RFC?

    Hi,
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( )  With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail()  With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method.  BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. For example, if, after sales order 1 has been created, a second sales order 2 is created in the same transaction, the second BAPI call must not affect the consistency of the sales order 2. After completing the transaction with a COMMIT WORK, both the orders are saved consistently in the database.
    Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
    Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( )  The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.
The BAPI Undelete() removes a deletion flag. These BAPIs are instance methods.
Cancel ( )  Unlike the BAPI Delete(), the BAPI Cancel() cancels an instance of a business object type. The instance to be cancelled remains in the database and an additional instance is created and this is the one that is actually canceled. The Cancel() BAPI is an instance method.
Add<subobject> ( ) and Remove<subobject> ( )  The BAPI Add<subobject> adds a subobject to an existing object inst! ance and the BAPI and Remove<subobject> removes a subobject from an object instance. These BAPIs are instance methods.

  • Difference Between BAPI And RFC in ABAP

    Hi,
i want to know difference between BAPI and RFC in SAP,
can we call SAP GUI screen from NON SAP System Using BAPI.
    Reg,
    Hariharan

    Hi Ravishankar,
The difference is not importat while you understand the concept.
I think, RFC is the protocol for calling functions from external systems in R/3.
I understand like BAPI a series of complet functions that SAP offers you for use and model a business use.
But if I need program a function that can be called for external system i would call it RFC_NAME, because is a unique function that makes a single task.
In other words, the difference i think is about work idea more than another thing.
    RFC
A remote function call is a call to a function module running in a system different from the caller's. The remote function can also be called from within the same system (as a remote call).
RFC consists of two interfaces : A calling interface for ABAP Programs and a calling interface for Non-SAP programs.
The RFC Interface takes care of :-
    - Converting all parameter data to the representation needed in the remote system
Calling the communication routines needed to talk to the remote system.
Handling communications errors, and notifying the caller, if desired ( using EXCEPTIONS paramater of the CALL FUNCTION).
    BAPI
BAPIs are standardized programming interfaces (methods) enabling external applications to access business processes and data in the R/3 System.
BAPIs provide stable and standardized methods to achieve seamless integration between the R/3 System and external applications, legacy systems and add-ons.
BAPIs are defined in the BOR(Business object repository) as methods of SAP business object types that carry out specific business functions.
BAPIs are implemented as RFC-enabled function modules and are created in the Function Builder of the ABAP Workbench.
The most critical difference btwn BAPI and FM is that BAPI can be wrapped in Business objects whereas RFC cant.

  • Could someone help me to clearly distinguish between SOAP and HTTP adapter?

In which scenarios we can go for HTTP adapter and when to go for SOAP adapter?

    Hi Lekshmi !!
A SOAP message will be bundled inside the soap envelope.HTTP is not an adapter in adapter engine whereas soap is an adapter i.e, HTTP doesn't require a communication channel where as SOAP requires. You can send soap messages using some SOAP client.
SOAP Adapter is used to xchange SOAP messages bw remote clients and webservices....
check this link for more differences..
    SOAP and HTTP adapter
When you need to Send Data to XI from a Webservice , your SOAP adapter is used.
HTTP adapter is used when you want to post a HTTP request message from a web application to XI.
How can i make use of SOAP Sender Adapter without using any tools like XML Spy etc....
XML SPy is used as a TEST tool when you are sending SOAP information to XI. TO actually send data , you need to configure a webservice and construct a SOAP request message and post the data .
we use SOAP adapter when we need to connect to remote system or use Webservices in these cases we use SOAP adapter.
HTTP Adapter is used by extenal systems to connect to Intergartin server using native HTTP Interface.
the http adapter is a service which is directly connected to integration engine. Adapter Framework (Java) isnt involved. It is much more performant than SOAP adapter.
The SOAP adapter is written in Java and is responsible for the SOAP envelope around the real XML message. You can build/remove that envelope as well in the mapping and use instead http adapter. But standard for webservices is using SOAP adapter.

Facebook apparently has their site coded poorly for tablets with touch screens. Try using the Facebook app. It is not perfect either but it is better than view in a browser lately.

When I view the drawing, the ruler at the top of the screen shows it being the correct length and when I checked the deminsion in the resize box, it also has the correct length. Have I done something wrong or should I delete the drawing and start over from scratch?

I used to be able to print correctly using Firefox as my browser, but something changed in the last month or so,possibly after a Firefox update. I`m not really sure how it happened but there seems to be a problem between Firefox and my printer. So I have been using Internet Explorer as my default so I can print. I would prefer to use Firefox again since that is where my bookmarks are. Is there a way to get the connection between Firefox and my printer back?

'''Save as''' = sounds like you don't have your printer selected, or you have ''Print to file'' selected

  • RFC Sender Problem...

    Hi all,
I configured the RFC Sender communication channel in the XI . The RFC Server parameter and Metadata Repository for this CC, point to a R/3 Application System. In SM59 I configured the TCP/IP connection and it work fine.
Was configured, too, the Sender Agreement and Receiver Determination for the RFC message.
When I test the RFC call in XI server with the destination configured in SM59, the RFC is not processed in the target R/3 system and no message is returned. In the Channel communication I get the error: Message processed for interface ZBR_RFC_SD_BPMAG_START_WKFIORD: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.RfcAdapterException: failed to identify XML document:org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.
Any idea about this error?  Is there any configuration to set the username and password to connect wikth R/3 target system using this channel comunnication?
    thanks.

    Hi,
    >In the Channel communication I get the error: Message processed for interface ZBR_RFC_SD_BPMAG_START_WKFIORD
    1) Check the User ID & password  is Correct
    2) With the help of Basis team Find it out whether the User Id  has the RFC Role to Connect
    3) From XI test the Connection..tcode Sm59 whether RFC Connection is  existing between SAP XI & R3
    4) Check Whether the  Function Module - ZBR_RFC_SD_BPMAG_START_WKFIORD  Exists

  • Wat is the differnce between ARFC and RFC

    plz send answers immediately

    Hi
    RFC
RFC is the protocol used to call functions in an R/3 system by a caller external to R/3 or to call programs external to R/3 from an R/3 system.
Functions can only be called via RFC, if they are tagged as RFC functions in the SAP development workbench. They are then called RFC function modules. BAPIs are complete sets of (BAPI) function modules that model a business application.
When you are familiar with web developments: RFC can be compared to HTTP and BAPIs are CGI applications.
    Adaptive RFC
The Adaptive Remote Function Call (Adaptive RFC) is a technology that enables the Web Dynpro application developer to use the business functions encapsulated in Business APIs (BAPIs) even after a structure modification, without having to provide the new data using a second back end or a new structure with subsequent regeneration of the proxies.
This new RFC model shows adaptive behavior. This means that the RFC proxies do not use the original design time structure definition at runtime. Instead, this Web Dynpro model automatically adapts the data of the structure passed in the Java proxy generation to the current data u2013 that is, a structure definition in the back-end system that may have been modified.
Generated structures are used for the context definition; the context ensures type-specific access to the attributes, as they are valid at runtime. However, the context attribute does not create the structure attributes until runtime and can therefore automatically take any changes made a later stage into account.
All structures, fields, and data types are maintained by the Java Dictionary runtime. A memory is available for this, which acts like a virtual machine: Load definitions are automatically loaded from the back end on demand.
The Web Dynpro context therefore shows adaptive, non-static behavior. At runtime, not just those fields are visible that were generated at design time. The following modification scenarios show the support offered by the Adaptive RFC in detail:

  • Difference between Webservice and RFC

    Dear Experts,
We have an application to implement where the application will be called from other NON SAP technology. We got two solutions one is developing RFC's and calling it from other NON SAP Technology OR developing Webservice. Could any one please suggest us to which way do we need to choose?
    Regards,
    Gopinath A.

That's more or less up to you. In a nutshell: RFC is a known SAP technology for communication between SAP and (NON) SAP systems (both ways, inbound and outbound). Communication is set up quite easily (check SCN for that, work for Basis Administrator).
From an RFC, you can get to a WebService within a few clicks. RFC is basis of a webservice, which is based on known (internet) standards.
You decide, together with NON-SAP system (can it consume or provide RFC requests, or webservices for that matter) and basis administrators.
You can find a lot of info in SCN on both methods about architecture etc. This should help you decide.
