Right-click File then select to email

Is there an option to do this in OS X? I would like to be able to like right click a file on my desktop and then select an option to email, so then it would automatically attach the file in an email. Any help would be appreciated.

You can very easily build a little menu item to do this - or anything else you'd like - using the built-in application Automater. Read the Help files on your computer for details.

  • Right click a weblink in an email not working in Mavericks Mail

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I used to right-click a weblink in an email to 'add to reading list'.
This worked every time and it would add to the reading list, and I could later visit Safari and go from there.
Since the upgrade, when I click I don't get this, I have to hold down the control key to get the 'add to reading list' contextual menu, however this differs from email to email, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
Anybody else getting this and have a possible solution?
I don't have any weired contextual menu extensions or anything like that, and I've the latest version of Mavericks.

    Jerry,
Thanks for replying again. I've got a little bit further thanks to you. I tried the US keyboard layout as you seemed pretty definte that it should work. This time I applied the setting and also started the language toolbar and selected it from there.
Hey presto, I've got the @ where it should be. Excellent.
However the single quote ' works in a weird way. When I press it, it doesn't show up on the screen. But when I press another key, I get the single quote plus the next key I press. When I press the single quote twice, I get 2 of them. This is also the same with the SHIFT ' key. i.e. for the double quotes.
Very strange. I'll look at other keyboards and see where that gets me.
    Thanks,  Maz

  • Since upgrading to Mail 7.0 the menu popup from right clicking an element in an email has changed.

Since upgrading to Mail 7.0 the menu popup from right clicking an element in an email has changed.  There is now only a short three item menu:
Previously there was a longer menu (like the one when right clicking an item on a Safari page):
I've looked in Preferences and at all the Mail dropdown items but can't find any way to get the old menu back (or why it changed).  In particular, I miss the "copy image" item which allowed me to copy an item image into a new email for forwarding.  I've got two email accounts, an IMAP and a POP.  The behavior is the same with both.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Richard

Your screen shots are not visible to me.  But I think I understand your question.
    Several thoughts come to mind:

You can still, of course, simply forward the entire email message containing the image.
You could also use the "Save Attachment ..." feature available when you right click and copy and paste from there once the image is saved.
Less likely, you could also use the "Share" feature available when you right click, though I suspect it may not offer sharing options that you would like.

  • Right click file and send as attachment to email

can someone point me in the right direction on this. i want to be able to right click on a file and have an option to send email with the selected file(s) attached.
    thanks

Very simple, it only takes one action.
Create a workflow with the *New Mail Message* action, and that's all you need in it. Save this as a Finder plug-in with a nice name such as "New Email", or any name that makes sense to you.
When you use your right-click, choose the More menu and then the Automator menu inside that, and in there you'll see it in there by whatever name you gave it when you saved it.
You can find out more how the *New Mail Message* action works with and without files by reading its description.

  • Right clicking on a person's email address no longer allows me to "copy email address" a feature I used a ton. How can I do this now?

Hello, We use a program called Zimbra for work which houses our email and calendar systems. I used to be able to hover over someone's email address, right click, and an option would pop up to allow me to "copy email address". This feature stopped a week or more ago and I called my business tech support and they said it is not a feature of Zimbra so perhaps it is a Firefox issue. Thought I would ask. I do a lot of copy and pasting of email addresses for our job listservs and this was a helpful feature.

Thanks Barney.  Yes, duplicating the file is a work around and I will use it for now.  I was hoping that I could set a preference or something to have TextEdit save new files like it used to.  Not sure why a redesign would limit options for saving files.  That, to me, is crazy. Using the duplicating feature means more clicks to get it to do what I used to be able to do more easy.  I hate "improvements" like this to an app.
I have "Documents and Data" checked in my iCloud preferences and when I uncheck it warns me that unchecking means that if I turn it off then all documents stored in iCloud will be deleted from the Mac.  Not sure if I want to do that or nor.  I don't like using iCloud for storage, but I think my photos from my iphoneare on there and I am not sure I want to keep those deleted off of this Mac as I use some photos for work related items and this is a work related Mac.  What do you think?
I would like to try a "save as" option, but that does not even come up when the "File" menu is selected.  Using the command key does not make it appear either.
And thanks for the advice about a hidden preference for iCloud.  I have not found it, but I amnot sure why they would hide such a preference either.
I switched to Mac a few years ago because they were so much better than PCs. Now, they seem to be creeping into PC **** with unnecessary changes to apps that do not make any sense to me.

  • Right click table cell selection

I'm making a GUI interface including a table. What I'd like to implement is ability to right click on the cell and open the options selection, similar as to when right click the icon on the desktop. Any ideas ?

You will need to create the component that will show your options and then add a MouseListener to your table that detects the mouse event and shows your options.
A good place to start would be to have a look at this link: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html

  • How do I right click on a document and email with outlook?

Right now I right click, and under share it offers only airdrop or messages. There is no email option. I would rather not have to open a seperate email window and then drag and drop the document. This seems so tedious. Any suggestions?

A few suggestions in this post, they may do what you want. I use Apples Mail client and this does give the option to email from Finder, hopefully one of the suggestions in the post will help.

  • Right click file send option disappeared from Snow Leopard.

    Hi people,
does anyone know how to re-enable leopard's send-to option when right clicking on a file? I'd need it to send to bluetooth devices directly...
    Thanks!

go to system preferences->keyboard->keyboard shortcuts->services and check the box next to "send file to bluetooth device".

  • Kde 4: good ole right click file association

    Hi,
There used to be no problem, until today . Right Click->Open With->Other->Open With Dialog.
The Open With Dialog used to present a checkbox Always use this app for this type of file or something to that effect. Now the checkbox's gone. Where to?

In my case they are flacs: somebody else decided to use .fla extension.
Does the same problem happen when you try to assign other unknown extensions, or just .fla?
The same happens with any unknown extension.

  • No right-click "Property" to screen unknown email senders

In my old Outlook Express I could right-click on an unknown sender in the Inbox and click "Propertiies" which contained information on the sender, message origin and routing to help screen unwanted or phishing emails before I opened it. As far as I can tell Thunderbird (v.24.30) does not have this useful feature.

You can inspect the message headers if you think it's useful.

  • Right Click File = Configure Acrobat 9

I installed Acrobat 9 Pro Extended on a system running Vista Ultimate. Now every time I right click a file Acrobat wants to go through install/configuration. This also happens when after starting my computer I attempt to go into Acrobat for the first time. Very frustrating. I've attempted to reinstall, repair to no avail. I've attempted it on another system running same as above with duplicate results.

I have the same problem. Been searching all over hell and back and can't find an answer.
I right click or even launch a program, and the installer launches. Goes through the whole bit and tells me I have to reboot for the changes to take effect.
I reboot and the installer does nothing, so I assume I'm done.

  • Firefox Will not open a link in a new tab after I right click and then click on open link in new tab

When I right click A bunch of new options pop up and firfox will not open links in new tabs. Safe mode did nothing.

What do you mean with ''A bunch of new options pop up"''?
Can you open a new tab by clicking the plus button on the Tab bar?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
