Hi Iam having strange behavior with my mighty mouse.If i right click more then 2 times everything close and finder relaunch automatic.I repair permissions but no luck. do u have any idea why more the 2 click finder rest..?
Hi moni05...I remember reading about Stuffit Expander causing some problems pertaining to right clicking to access the Contextual menu
Updating Stuffit to the most current edition...was the fix

I am guessing the plugin that you are speaking of is for Stuffit and I think it resides in your Home Folder>Library>Contextual Menu Items...if it is there drag it to the DeskTop and try a right click to see if it fixes the issue

Always before when I wanted to click on a new website or a location I found searching google for example, the new website or place I found ALWAYS POPPED UP IN A NEW TAB AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT me having to right click and say 'open in new tab'. For some reason it is not doing that anymore and when I click on an item it is coming up in the tab I am currently in. How can I set FF to automatically open a new tab whenever I click on a new site like it did before? This is driving me nuts since I am not a computer person at all and had it working the way I was used to before. Please help me fix it back.

Logic Pro X. Right-click not working in the piano-roll editor. And colour issues.
I usually use the right mouse-button to open the toolbox under the cursor but this doesn't appear to work within the piano-roll edit window in Pro X. Is this the same for everyone? The right-click works in all other windows. Seems pretty odd.
Also is it just me who finds the near-black background very oppressive? I worked in front of Pro X for several hours yesterday and was left wishing I could change the background colour of the main and edit windows. Is there any way to do this?
I also really need to be able to access custom colours for the colour palette as the new palette doen't sit at all well with me. Any ideas anyone? The manual states that if you double-click on a colour it should open the colour editor but it doesn't.....It turns out that if you assign the right button to 'Open Tools and Shortcut Menu', it works in the piano roll. It's obviously a bug which should get ironed out.
The other thing that's driving me nuts though is that when I change tools in the main window, the pointer still appears like an arrow, even though its function has changed. When I pass it over a region, it usually changes to to the correct icon - but not always! Aarghhh I'm going back to Pro 9 for now...... -
Hi can anyone help me out, I'm going insane trying to figure out what to do I need my macbook for work and
using my parents PC is driving me nuts...
So today my mac was working compleletly fine, then I just closed it for maybe 20 mins and when I reopen it
I touch pad wont work at all when moving the curser over the screen it will highlight with out touching but wont click,
so I plugged in my mouse and it wont right click at all, but I can left click which a pain in the butt cause I still cant
open or close anything, it will not allow me to search or basically do anything, I have no clue what is going on,
was I hacked?
I tried putting in the start up disk to maybe just restart my whole operating system but it wont even allow me to click
continue to do so with it... I'm basically so stuck, i live 5 hours from the closest Apple store too, and I no long have any apple care

Disabling CTRL+click Mapping to Right-click
How do I disable CTRL+click from acting as a right-click? I have a Picasa Web Album < <a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://picasaweb.google.com > and in order to move groups of photos I need to use the CTRL key but everytime I use that it registers as a right-click. I've looked in the Keyboard Preference Pane but couldn't find any way to disable this behavior.
12" PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.7)Bump. I have exactly the same issue. The fact that I can't disable the Ctrl-click-to-right-click mapping is driving me nuts!

Right-Click w/ Mighty Mouse issue
Alright, I set my mouse up right for the button being secondary and all that so that I can right click. However it only seems to work sometimes and on certain things. Is this normal? For example, when I right click a link in firefox it just opens the page. No right click menu. It drives me nuts. Or when I right click to try and copy highlighted text it won't do it. Grrr...
Any advice or is it just a bug?
SarahNevermind. It seems I have to click the very tip of the right side of the mouse. Not easy when you just want to click in the middle of the right side.

Creating a new document in Finder with right-click--How?
Is there a way to create a new document in a Finder folder by right-clicking (or Ctrl-left)? So that the new file will be created at that very spot, in that very folder.
In Windows-Explorer this was quick and easy. Just right-click and you could choose from a menu to create a new empty doc of the most popular (installed) programs. Text file was mandatory. The file was created where the curser was at. VERY handy as that way you didn't have to open the application, create a new doc and then when saving having to crawl your way all the way to the position in the Explorer/ Finder.
Since I started with Apple and Tiger I've been missing this feature and Snow Leopard still does not seem to have it. Or did I miss something? I checked all the menue as well. There's not even a "Create new document". Only a "Create new folder".
I was just reminded of this when I wanted to create a new file on an external drive on a server to save some text in it. There was no way other than first opening Textedit, saving the empty file on the local Mac, THEN transferring the empty file to the server. Only THEN I could open it and edit it.
There MUST be a quicker way.
Also, in Windows you could edit this list in the menu (and add programs that would not by themselves do this). Is there a way for the Mac?

And for those of you who don't understand why this is useful: Try it.
Open Textedit, Apple-N, and then save the darned file somewhere deep in the labyrinth of the Finder where you've just been but withouth the file. It takes AGES.
I, on the other hand -- at least in Windows --, right-click, new, double-click AAAND I'm on editing the file.
VERY quick.
It's beyond me why this is not possible on a Mac. -
Is there a way to open the right click menu on the left side of your pointer?
Whenever I try to right-click an object that's located on the right side of the screen, the pointer always automatically click whatever entry in the right-click menu which just happens to be under the pointer the moment the menu is opened. I noticed that the reason this happens is because the right click menu always forces itself to open on the right side of the pointer, and when there isn't enough space, the right-click menu will open underneath the pointer. Since this is horribly inconvenient, is there a way to open the right-click menu on the left side of your pointer?
Are you saying you have an icon on the far right side and when you rt click on it, your pointer ends up opening wherever it lands? That is a two step process, or normally should be at least a two step process. Do you have a Mouse in your Control Panel? You should check, because there may be some properties with which you can play. For instance, I can switch primary and secondary functions on my mouse buttons by checking a box.
When I rt click on right side, the menu opens on the left.
When I rt click on left side, the menu opens on the right.
In order for me to take an action, I then have to move to an area in that menu and click.

I installed Firefox 27 and then Firefox 28 a while back and these two bugs described below were still present and now I have just checked again with Firefox 29 by installing it and yet again, these two bugs described below are present!! UNBELIEVABLE THAT THESE TWO CRITICAL BUGS ARE STILL PRESENT IN FIREFOX 29 WHEN I CLEARLY INFORMED YOU ABOUT THEM IN THE HELP, SUBMIT LINK OF FIREFOX!!
I am forced to revert to Firefox 26!
First, I use Windows 7 64-bit and I always use Firefox with at least 120 tabs opened. BUT I have 8 GB of RAM, an Intel core i7 quad-core processor and more than 1 TB of hard disk space. Consequently, I do not understand why I would have these two critical bugs.
With Firefox 26, I also have at least 120 tabs opened when I start Firefox and I do not have the two critical bugs described below, therefore I do not believe that the number of tabs is the reason of the two critical bugs that are present in Firefox 27, 28, and 29.
---FIRST CRITICAL BUG:
When I open ANY web page and do File, "Save Page As", the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this web page does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
---SECOND CRITICAL BUG:
When I use Google Images, for instance entering model in the search field of Google Images and then pressing enter.
Then I select any picture, open to a new tab this selected picture, then open a new tab by selecting the option View for this picture. Then right-click the picture and select "Save Image As".

Once again, these two bugs touch at two vital, critical very basic functions of Firefox and therefore I will NOT be able to use any version above 26 if these two bugs are still present, as they are present in Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!!!

I am still reading it again to try to figure out exactly what the person did to make his problems be solved, as the post is not clear at all on what solved the problems!
In any case, all the suggestions proposed in this post do not work and I surely cannot do a system restore when it is obvious that the two bugs do not appear in Internet Explorer.First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset. -
Unable to select an image with right click of the mouse
When in Library mode using grid view, right clicking on a thumbnail does not select the thumbnail, and previously selected items remain selected. If you then try to delete the item, you can inadvertently delete multiple items that you did not intend to delete and not the item you wanted to delete.
Right clicking on an already selected image or one of a group of selected images works and all selected images can be deleted. However a right click on a non selected image should should drop any current selections and select only the image clicked. (This can be verified in Bridge)
I am using Lightroom 1.3.1 in Windows XP SP2 with 2 gig of ram.Have you switched your mouse buttons i.e have you changed assignments to your mouse buttons in the control panel?
If not, then clicking on an image will select it, CTRL-Click will select non-contiguous images, SHIFT-Click will select contiguous images.
Right-clicking will show a context menu. (and the context menu will change if you have single multiple images selected: e.g if you select two images you will see a menu item Open in Compare that is not there if only a single image is selected, Delete Photo... becomes Delete Photos... etc)
Also, in grid or filmstrip view you will see up to three levels of brightness on the frames around thumbnails:
-lightest frame: the active image i.e. the one that will be opened if you go to develop mode, or will be used as "source" for synchronize command etc
-medium: other images that you have selected.
-darkest: images that are not selected.
Selected images will also have a white frame immediately around the thumbnail. -

Having the exact same issue. Also, on right click, many apps freeze/beachball and must force close. Additionally, uTorrent and Transmission are not operating correctly-uTorrent constantly beachballing and unresponsive. Right-click freezes with everything from Word to iMovie. Takes way too much time to do anything, and lots of cursor freezing, here is a sys log excerpt:

disk2s1 (disk2s1) <not mounted>: 209.7 MBI'm having the same issue - started a few months ago and had to forcibly shut down the Mac. That killed the hard drive, so I got a new hard drive and had the Apple Store install Lion on it, then used Migration Assistant to bring files over. Is there a way to bring back the "Open a New Tab" option via right-clicking on the Tab?
I just upgraded to latest version of Firefox (6.0). Yesterday it informed me that an upgrade to Firefox 5.(something) was available and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I went for it. However, I hadn't used it since then till today. Now when I opened it today it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to version 6.0. Without hesitation, I went for it too.
While this version looks nice, it feels a bit odd to use it. Previously whenever I wanted to open a new Tab, I right-clicked on any of the Tabs (active tab or any other Tab) and after right-clicking, it had the option to '''''Open a New Tab''''' along with few other options. Now there's no such option. There's the + button to open a new tab, but what if I want to open a link in a new tab by right-clicking on it? Similarly the option to Open in New Window is also missing.
Is there a way to bring back those previous Tab options/settings? If yes, how?
P.S. In my bookmark toolbar, when I click on a bookmark icon, it has the same options/settings as it previously had in the last version I used (last version I used was 3.something; while I'd upgraded to version 5.something I hadn't used it except for opening the browser when it asked me to upgrade to version 6.0). Options on right clicking the bookmark icon are:

I'd also like to mention here that I know of the shortcut keys; so please don't waste your time by trying to help me that way. Thanks.No. The Tab bar is a regular toolbar in current Firefox versions, so you get the normal right-click context menu of a toolbar if you right-click the tab bar.
You can double click on empty space on the tab bar to open a new tab if you do not want to use the new tab button.<br />
You can drag a link on that new tab button to open that link in a new tab.<br />
You can also drag the new tab button on another toolbar if you would like that better.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"<br /> -
Right click issues on Satellite P50T-B
I don't know how to change the setting so that I can have a traditional right click on the touch pad.
I know that you can press with both fingers to do some functions like a right click, but when I am using Microsoft word or Facebook I cannot figure out how to right click a misspelt word and see how its spelt. When I right click a work in word or facebook the cursor changes to the scrolling.
Please help, it is getting really annoying taking a minute to figure out how to spell a word because I cant right click

Go to control panel -> mouse
Here you would find some standard options to control the USB mouse and touchpad.
In order to find some advanced touchpad control settings, you should go to last tab.
I guess your notebook supports ELAN touchpad and therefore the last tab should be called ELAN
Within this tab you have to click on Options button.
Now new window (ELAN smart pad) would open providing different control options.
In One finger tab you would find the option to control the tapping, clicking, drag and drop, edge scroll.
Additionally you find the tabs for Multi-finger and Additional features. -
Right click - save image keeps saving to wrong location
I moved my firefox profile over from my old computer.
Now when i do right click -> save image as, it SOMETIMES defaults to C:\Users\test\Documents. Which was my old default location.
I have changed it to C:\Users\Question\Documents on my current computer but it randomly changes back to C:\Users\test\Documents. I cannot find a pattern that causes it to change, but it seems to happen mainly after i restart my computer (not always though).
Can someone please tell me how to get it to change to C:\Users\Question\Documents PERMANENTLY?Oh right i forgot the first answer to every problem is "reinstall firefox".
Does anyone have a suggestion that does not involve reinstalling firefox and wiping my profile? -
How do I use Right Click Functionality in Captivate 5
Hello there,
I am trialing Adobe Captivate 5, with a view to purchasing it, and I have been loving it, but have hit a snag. My Right Click actions are not working except with the web preview. I noted from the manual a lot of restrictions and from reading here I am not able to change AS3 to AS2. Does this mean Captivate 5 does not let you use Right Click options.
I would greatly appreciate your help because I do love this software but if I can't create elearning with multiple Click Boxes and Right Click functionality, I may have to look elsewhere.

I downloaded and unzipped the file you linked. On my work laptop with XP, IE 8, and Captivate 4, it ran perfectly.
On my personal laptop with Windows 7, IE 8, and Captivate 5, it did not run. (I got the JavaScript line 81 error.)
On my personal laptop, I created my own right click project in Captivate 5, published with accessibility turned off, and it would not run (line 81).
I copied my Captivate 5 published files to my work laptop, and it would not run there either.
I don't have any third party toolbars installed on either machine. I'm running Symantec antivirus on my work laptop (where your project worked but mine didn't) and AVG on my personal laptop (where neither project worked.)
Is there something you did in your JS file? Or some little tweak you made in your Captivate project?

hi, I have a segment tree with 2 branches. The first branch is assigned to treatment A, the other one to treatment B. If I load the campaign then 2 lists are generated and the number of clients reflect the treatment splits. However if I launch the ca
