when i try to download a "free" app for my ipod touch, it wants credit card billing info? a "free"" app is just that isn't it? How do I resolve this guys/gals? any advice? P.S. I don't use credit cards.
You normally need to provide some sort of payment method (in part as proof of residence in the country) before you can get even the free apps. It is possible to set up a new iTunes Store account just for free apps, but you have to create a new Apple ID; you cannot use an existing one. If you want to do that, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note again that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free content without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

There is a long line of displays at the bottom of the Firefox screen, all starting with "div#" or "iframe.rr" or "html" or "body" --- at the far right is a rectangular box with the word "Style" and an "x" right beside it. The x will not close this bar even though it says "close inspector."
On the far left of the bothersome string is a gear/sprocket icon that is for "inspector options" which, when clicked, offers "dim the node" or "show node info." I don't want a "node" or even know what it is. On Ibooks Author, my programmed image for the Chapter page no longer shows up on new pages, just appears as a question mark inside a box, How do I fix this? Please help, its the same when I try and copy and paste the same image within Ibooks author.

You may have moved or removed content on your page or its possible you used the"Adjust Image" and over sharpeed one or more images.
I assume you mean it does not show up of new Chapter pages... have you checked the template?
Where you see the ? you need to either reduce teh box outline size - or drop anther copy of the original image onto it, it may fill the ? box or sit on top.... delete the ? box.
If its Chapter page only related, its better doing this in the template.
Is you image .jpg or .png? -
When I start mozilla or open any link in a new window I get the desired page to load but an additional new tab page opens up along with it. I've tried switching my homepage to different things (new tab, firefox home, show blank page) but I always get an additional new tab to open. How do I get only a single page to open?

I'm getting an error message when I try the click on a link in an email. No associated application could be found. How do I fix this problem?
Is this a one-off or a general problem? If a one-off, is it a link to a web page or something else? If not a web page, try control-clicking on it and choosing to download the linked file. This will at least access the file though it might be to something you don't have an application to open with. If you do this, what sort of file do you get? - select it and hit command-i to get information on it.

This is a mean one. I don't have time to try and find the cause, but at least some answers to your questions, to hopefully shed some more light on this.
Where was the original destination? iCloud folder.
On another drive? Tried to Save as... to Hard Drive (also changing name of file), always get the same non-descript short Error "Couldn't auto-save document." (slides down from top with a yellow warning triangle). Status to the right of document name is "Not Saved".
Another Server? No access at this time.
I also tried File, Revert to, Browse all versions, to check what I'd be losing. Saw I wasn't losing much and selected the last version and pressed Restore - same error. In the end I just quit Pages and re-opened. The document opened with the last few edits missing (but with the status "Edited" next to the name). I re-edited and could save. Good old habit of saving often. -
I click a link but it doesn’t open. Instead I get a popup saying “Open the link in a new window,” “Open link in a new tab,” etc. How can I kill this popup or whatever it is forever?
That happens if the server sends the file as text/plain.

when I'm on a page with many links it used to highlight or underline the link I was looking at ... so when it opened the link in a new window, I could look back and not lose my place
It sounds like you have chosen a publishing template rather than a word processing template. There are two basic modes in MS Word: word processing and publishing layout. Word processing mode (and all word processing templates) have a continuous text box in the page for writing text. The publishing layout mode (and publishing templates) are documents that have text boxes placed for articles, titles, pictures, etc. Be sure to choose the word document template and you’ll get what you expect. Do not choose the word publishing document.

I've installed the Adobe Reader Plug In. Yet every time I click to see a PDF, it opens another browser and it is blank. The Browser reads about:blank. How can I fix this so that PDF's open in the browser?

When I open a web page link in "a new window" the link opens, but the web page information does not appear in the location bar. It is blank. If I open the link in a new tab, there is ho problem.
Further, if a open a link from the tab without a location in a new tab on the same window and then go back to the original tab, the location bar fills with the web address.
Have done this starting in several locations, so it not location dependent.That behaviour is likely top be caused by an add-on, and in your case the likely culprit is IE Tab 2, the various versions of IE Tab have caused problems with Firefox 4 beta including issues with the location bar not being updated.
You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling it and then seeing if the location bar in a new window shows the address. If it is not that add-on causing the problem, see [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]].
For info, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you may want to try that one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html -
When I copy/paste a paragraph from a PDF doc (onto Facebook status bar, for example) it pastes with no spaces between words. I.e: "The manhadajugofcoolwaterand offeredmeadrink." How can I fix this? I can't speak about this occurring with FaceBook since I don't use FaceBook, but I see the same type of thing when I copy and pasted from websites. It doesn't always happen and I cannot find any particular set of circumstances under which it occurs or does not occur.
I am merely responding to let you know that it happens to me as well and I have seen no way to correct it. I'm not so sure that there is a way to correct in in that it may have something to do with how the original text is formatted in the PDF or on the website and how it eventually "fits" into the text field or the area in which it is pasted. -
