Right JRE for forms 10gR2(10.1.2.0.2) on Windows 7 64bit

Hi All,
What is the right JRE for windows 7 64bit OS and our forms app server is 10.1.2.0.2. Any one's help is much appreciated.
Regards

Thanks Carlos,
We are using some custom java beans and image jar files along with the frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,,jacob.jar,ojdbc14.jar. After using Java Plug-in 1.6.0_45. I am hitting this error
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-2" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/bali/share/sort/StringComparator
and
Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.bali.share.sort.StringComparator
Do you suggest to apply the patch 10.1.2.3. I have noticed few people still have some issues after applying this patch.
Please suggest.
Regards.

    HI ,
I have developed and tested Encryption using Ciphers and SecretKey , i used the JRE1.4 .But other components are being developed using JRE1.3.If i try to run my code in JRE1.3 i get many errors.
Is there anything i need to do before i integrate with other components on a diff JRE..
    Thanks in anticipation...

    Hi Mark,
We are developing a big product and everything is in JRE1.3 ,we have no plans of upgrading to 1.4 for a mere security component. My question is
1.If i have to use JCE should i have JRE1.4.
2.The runtime error which i get is 'Algorithm DES not found'.Does DES only ship with JRE1.4
3.Can u suggest any step which can be useful for configuring it with JRE1.3
4.JRE1.4 is still in Beta right?
    Thanks in anticipation...

I created a pdf form and then imported it to Forms Central for distribute. It is now loaded to my website and setup so a person clicks on the link to open the form. At this point they then have to go to upper right to open form using a different view. I would like the form to open directly in Adobe Reader form to make it easier to enter information. Thanks, Ike

If you created it in Forms Central, you have to edit it there. I believe Forms Central is similar to LiveCycle Designer in that the form created is no longer able to be edited in Acrobat. I might be wrong, but that is my understanding. You add the submit button in Forms Central. Within Acrobat, you should be able to go to the forms menu and Manage Data to save the data to an Excel file. Others better with forms should be by to clarify things, but this should get you started. In the future you might find it better to post a forms question in the forms discussions.

  • Can I get rid of parts of the JRE for my app?

I am trying to figure out how to easily deploy a stand-alone desktop Swing application. It's more like Microsoft Word than the typical Swing business app that deals with networks and databases. I'd like to make this easily downloadable by regular people, like a 10-year old who has installed an IM client, or a 70-year old who has downloaded the latest version of a browser, i.e., just download an installation file and then click to install in the relatively standard manner in which Windows apps are installed.
What I am definitely trying to avoid is making the user go to Sun's Java distribution website, which is written by computer geeks for computer geeks. If a potential user sees that, they'll get confused, give-up, and I'll have lost a potential user.. Since a Swing application that is developed and tested using an earlier version of the JRE won't necessarily work with a later version, I can't make the assumption that as long as the latest JRE is installed on the user machine, everything is fine. As far as I can tell, I need to download a self-contained version of the JRE that I developed with in order to guarantee that the app will run as expected. I also don't want the user to have to download a 15 Mb 1.5 JRE, or the purported 50 Mb 1.6 JRE just to be able to run my little program. (I'm really starting to see why there are no popular Java desktop apps.)
So my question is - if I compile my application down into machine code from binary code, does anyone know if can I get away with running it with a stripped-down JRE? I'm wondering if I can get rid of parts of the JRE that deal with things like interpreting bytecode, networking or database access, none of which I need to worry about. Sun's legal department might not like this, but is this at all technically feasible? I'm actually happy to hear about any ideas regarding shrinking the size of the distribution. Thanks.

I voted for the enhancement request. It is almost exactly what I am concerned with.
I am a big fan of Excelsior Jet. I tried out the free version about a year-and-a-half ago, and was pretty happy with it. It was actually the only machine-code compiler I tried out of several that worked. If I ever get to the point where I can start selling my app, I expect that I'll use it. I've been checking the website every so often since then, and reading about the next version, where a JRE can be included in the distribution. That helped spark my original question. While the worry about making sure my application had the right JRE version will be solved, it still bugs me that I have to ship so much unnecessary JRE code. (I blame Sun for that, not Excelsior Jet.) I was wondering if it was at all technically feasible to strip out the unnecessary code, irrespective of the legal issues. When compiled to byte-code, my program is under 1 MB. When I compiled it to machine code under JDK 1.4, it was about 5 MB. I imagine that compiling to machine-code with the included 1.5 JRE, after compression, will result in a size in the 15-20 MB range. And this after refactoring my program to where it's about 1/3 it's original size. I'm really worried about the direction this is going, and I don't even want to think about what including the 1.6 JRE will require.
Where did you read that I've been programming Java since '97. I was a contractor at Sun between 1995 and 1997, and started working on Java 1.0 apps back then, but I don't ever remember mentioning that. If you asked because you're thinking I should know more about JVM/JRE issues, you're probably right, but I focus almost exclusively on higher-level application and GUI/Graphics issues. The deep-down Java stuff makes me break out into a cold-sweat.

  • JRE for Windows 64 bit on Intel

    Hello,
in Supported System Configurations Windows AMD64/EM64T 64-bit mode is shown as not supported.
In the release notes (1.5.0_04) the following is written:
With the release, J2SE support for Windows 64-bit has progressed from release candidate to final release. This version runs on AMD64/EM64T 64-bit mode machines with Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions.
    What is right?
Is jre-1_5_0_05-windows-amd64.exe the right file for Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions on Intel processor?
What about Windows XP Professional x64 Edition?
    regards,
    Sven

You're not going to get them from Apple. I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed in Boot Camp and had to find video and network drivers on my own. The built-in iSight doesn't work and neither does the other MacBook specific features. I use Windows sparingly so it's good enough for my usage.

  • Destination for Forms contents

I am making a form for a website that will allow the user to send his/her email and comments to a nightclub managment so they can in turn send out information on parties to all who submit theyre emails. I was practicing the technique in a practice file. I was able to create the text fields as well as the submit button. My only issue and question is how do i set up the submit button properly so when the button is pressed the information is sent to a specific email address.
Ill include the code and css.

        margin-right: auto;
        margin-left: auto;
        background-color: #FFFFFF;
        position: relative;

The form's action needs to point to a server side script that processes the form contents. For starters check with your host to see if they have a script that will work with your hosting plan. And please search this forum for 'form mail' for more details.

  • Oracle forms 10g 32bit with Oracle 10g database on windows itanium for x64

    Hi.....
Currently we are planning to have this configuration
    1. Oracle10g RAC on HP rx6600 with windows itanium for x64 architecture
    2. Oracle Application Server (32-bit) on windows 2003 (forms & reports services)
    3. Application migrated from 6i to 10g
I have to things to ask about?
1.Will it be ok to connect from an application compiled with _(32-bit)_ 10g forms to a x64_ platform without problems ?
    2. Can we connect forms and reports of developer 6i +(32-bit)+ to 10g RAC on x64_ platform if the character set is not UTF8 ?

1.Will it be ok to connect from an application compiled with (32-bit) 10g forms to a x64 platform without problems ?I did this also. A 32bit Oracle Form(10gR2) on Linux and a 64 bit (10gR2) database. And this works without a problem. Since you didn't mentioned your versions I would suggest you look for your combination if it is certified combination.
    2. Can we connect forms and reports of developer 6i (32-bit) to 10g RAC on x64 platform if the character set is not UTF8 ?I don't know if the combination is certified. But regarding your character set, you have a character set setting (NLS_LANG, DEVELOPER_LANG, etc.. ) for your developer 6i, your database has it's own character set. Depending on those setting a conversion of the character set will take place between your developer 6i and the database, when you get and put data to the database. But like I said I don't know if developer 6i and 10g is still a supported combination.

  • Certification for Forms 11.1.2 to run on RHEL 6

    Hello,
We have Oracle Froms & Reports upgraded 11.1.2 running on RHEL 5. Our System Admins are planning to upgrade O/S to RHEL 6. We have checked the support matrix for Forms & Reports and it says 11.1.1.6 is certified to run on RHEL6 but not 11.1.2. We dont want to downgrade. So our System Admins are looking for an approximate estimation when Forms & Rports 11.1.2 will be certified for RHEL 6 so that they can make decision on upgrading O/S. Please let us know if you have any rough estimates.
    Thanks.

Currently (as of 8/13/2012), FMw 11.1.2.x has not been certified for use on Linux 6. Unfortunately, due to policy, we are not permitted to share information about future products, patches, or certifications unless an official statement has already been released by Product Management or higher. To date, no such statement has been made. I can say that discussions are onging regarding the certification of Linux 6 with FMw11R2. So, at least that's a step in the right direction. Keep in mind that with only some rare exceptions, new certifications are only offered upon the release of a new patch or major product version. In other words, for example in order to get official certification of Linux 6 it would have to come with or related to a patch release. So, don't expect to see 11.1.2.0 certified on any platforms not already listed. You will likely need to install the latest patch to be considered on a certified environment.
Hopefully, we will have more information as we get closer to the patch 1 release. And no, I cannot discuss when that is expected to be released either. ;)
If anyone happens to share a date or other details and they are not Oracle employees, I would not put too much faith in that information at this point beause it likely would only be speculation.

  • Viewport setting is Not giving right output when forms on the Web

I have a stacked canvas which has a rounded rectangular graphics. When I manipulate the viewable area using viewport settings, I am getting different (unxepected) view when the form is deployed on the web. for example, with the viewport x position on canvas set at 0, viewport y position on canvas set at 13, and view height set at say 18, the form displays unexpected area when on the web. when on client/server arch. it behaves fine.
I have oracle 9.0.2 for the web application. It is running using ocj4. Please assist. If there is any patch out incase, advise me the right one.
    Thanx

    Hi,
This has been reported as a bug for Forms 6i and was fixed in a recent patch set. I assume that For,s 9i inherited this problem form 6i. The work around for this issue is to dynamically set x pos of the viewport:
    SET_VIEW_PROPERTY('stacked1',VIEWPORT_X_POS_ON_CANVAS,get_view_property('stacked1',VIEWPORT_X_POS_ON_CANVAS));

  • Tutorial for: Form -- PDF -- Inbox

I am new to the forum and I hope this is the right place for this question. I apologize in advance. I am a webmaster for an association and I have been asked to create an application that we will have on our site as a "go green" project.
My goal is to have the application filled out by the individuals then once they hit submit the server will generate a PDF and send it to our inbox. I want to eliminate the individual having to send the PDF as an attachemtn via their e-mail account because it is one more step that they do not want to do.
Is there a tutorial for this, or what keyword should I type into google, etc.
    Thanks

Here is a new form that I personally would like to know how to have this automatically sent to my e-mail after client fills this out?
I guess I have to create a php dump file that connects to mySQL and then populates the PDF, etc. How ????

  • Does EchoSign have a solution for forms that require more than 1 signature?

We have a form that requires the employee to sign and the supervisor.  The employee and the supervisor are often at 2 different locations.  We want to use formscentral for the form.  We would like the form to go to the supervisor for their signature before it comes to our department.  Does echosign have a solution for form and signature process flow?

If you are sending a document to be signed by multiple signers you will want to define the Role for the various fields. The Role is who is allowed  to interact with that field. By default the signers will sign in the order that their email addresses were entered into the To: field. It is important to keep this workflow in mind when setting up the signature fields.
When a signature field is placed you can set the Role for that field (who can click to sign). Right click on the signature field for the 1st signer and select edit. This will open a window where you can define the options for that field. Select the 1st signers email address in the drop down list for the Role: field.
Repeat this step to associate all the other signature fields for the other signers.
Please watch this short tutorial video to see how to author a multi-signer document:

  • Is BI Integrated Planning / STS right tools for this kind of application

    Hi Everyone,
I need your advise/help. I need to create a simple web application to do as below:
    1) Data Entry Form on web - Enter / Edit / Delete data i.e. order entry
    2) Save the data in BW cube or datastore
    3) E-mail to Managers for approvals
    4) Click a button to approve
    5) Retrieve the data from BW and show it as a web report
Is BI Integrated Planning / STS right tools for this kind of application?  If yes, can you please recommend some documentations?; if no, Which tool will be the best fit for this kind of requirement?
    Thanks a Million, Jin Freda

STS allows you to lock/release/approve one set of plan data (say many records). I thought your requirement is to approve individual order documents. configuring this in STS would be unnecessarily complicated I think.
Similarly IP is to work on a set of data (say all order quantity for a region or period), not for individual orders. Building all the checks and validations that you would probably want in an order entry may not be easy to build in IP.
VC or Webdynpro can't post to a infocube. They can certainly write to a transactional ODS (which probably would be a better place to write such data).
I have limited knowledge of your requirement so can't say whether it is a problem - probably not a show-stopper. If you are entering a set of orders in one go, may be IP is appropriate, but if you are looking for an application where users may be posting individual orders at random times, IP would be a bad choice I think.
