    My iPad Air gets an unknown error when I try to backup.   It does sync properly.  My iPhone backs up and syncs without isssue.  I am running latest itunes and iOS 8 versions.  Thank you.

    Try rebooting your computer and reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

  • I got a error when i trying to backup my iphone with the usb cable

    i got a error when i trying to backup my iphone with the usb cable. After i update to ios7 and also update itunes to last version, i got a message like 'could not back up the iphone, because a session could not be start with the iphone'. does anyone know how to deal with it. I never meet this question before i update to ios7

    Hello Lazyboy7,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
    It sounds like you are getting an error message from iTunes when trying to manually backup with your USB cord.
    I found this article to help troubleshoot what might be going on here:
    iOS: Troubleshooting backup issues in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2529
    Take care,

    hi ... i want to ask why i can't download (whatsapp,skype,faceboo)on my iphone ???? and why always appear message my password error when i want doing download ??? if my password error i can't sign in here !!!! what's the problem???

    Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
    Update to the latest version of iTunes.
    Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
    Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
    Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
    An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
    Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
    Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • Backup with delete input

    Hi
    I use the command below :
    backup database plus archivelog delete input,
    Works fine.
    I just want to know why the directory of archivelog file (like 2007_09_13) stay there empty.
    Is there a way to delete it as the archivelog ?
    Thanks.

    When you use DELETE INPUT while taking the backup of archivelogs then it takes the backup of archivelogs and delete them from their original location.
    But it doesn't delete the folder, you can delete it if you want to, there is no harm in doing this just make sure the folder is empty and I dont think there is any way to delete those empty folders through RMAN.

  • Got RMAN error when running RMAN backup of archivelogs on physical standby database

    Got below error when running RMAN backup of datafiles and archivelogs on physical standby database.
    RMAN-06820: WARNING: failed to archive current log at primary database
    ORACLE error from target database:
    ORA-17629: Cannot connect to the remote database server
    ORA-17627: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    Could anyone help me? Thanks,

    Hello;
    When you connect RMAN to the source database as TARGET you must specify a password even if RMAN uses operating system authentication.
    So the errors ORA-17627 and ORA-00942 appear to be cause and effect.
    What version of Oracle?  ( 11.2.0.4 according to the tag )
    Can you post your backup script?
    Best Regards
    mseberg
    Update
    According to :
    Database Error Messages 11g Release 2 (11.2) E17766-03
    RMAN-06820: WARNING: failed to archive current log at primary database
    Cause: An attempt to switch the archived log at the primary database failed.
    So I would check my Primary alert log for an issue.

    Dear experts,

  • RMAN error when restoring controlfile from tape

    Hi,
    We have a Production database with instance name PROD.
    We use Symantec Netbackup software to backup this database to tape library.
    We want to test some recovery scenarios on a test server. So we want to restore the production backups from Tape to this test server.
    We did the following:
    Cloned the ORACLE Home to the Test Server.
    Changed the db_name parameter to PROD and also set ORACLE_SID to PROD.
    then we connected to RMAN and ran the following command to restore the control files:
    RMAN> run {
    set dbid 4155532403
    set controlfile autobackup format for device type 'sbt_type' to '%F';
    set until time "to_date('16/12/2012:10:13:37','dd/mm/yyyy:hh24:mi:ss')";
    allocate channel t1 device type 'sbt_tape';
    SEND 'NB_ORA_SERV=riysvbkp-001,NB_ORA_CLIENT=lh-erp';
    restore controlfile to '/testerp/dbexec/tmp/cf1.ctl' from autobackup;

  • Error when performing the first backup using RMAN

    I have installed Oracle 10g on a new server and created a fresh database.
    I set up the backup to the disk using OEM and tested the credentials in OEM. The database is in noarchivelog mode. I created settings for an immediate backup and when I submitted the job, I got the following error. What can be the reason?

         at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534)If the database is in the open stage and is in the noarchivelog mode, RMAN wouldn't be able to do the backup since the database is inconsistent and there are no archivelogs to make the backup usable in the case of recovery. If yes, bring the DB in the stage and then try to do the backup again and I would suggest to practice RMAN using the command-line interface. It's much better to diagnose the error messages appearing there rather than EM which adds it's own messages as well with RMAN.

  • Error when making an image backup to external harddrive: Files on Z-drive unable to access.

    Hello, this is the 3rd time I have this problem. Every time after a major Windows (mine is Vista) update R&R does no longer work.
    When I start to create a full image back-up I get some 2 times 5 error messages saying something like: Unable to access or copy to/from
    5 times the message z:\tvtos\winpe.wim      error 1393 = disk structure problem er something
    5 times the message z:\Preload\drivers\E1e5032.SYS  Error 5 no access
    I may or may not get a message: " Fcopier MFC application is not functioning" (during the copy to/from z: ),
    then after 30 minutes the backup gets cancelled automatically.
    I assume the Z disk is a virtual memory disk.
    I had stopped my virusprotection, firewall software.
    I have run this as Administartor
    The problem is the same when I run the R&R as Administrator ( I am).
    Then after tens of minutes the backup operation gets automatically cancelled.
    I have not been able to find a fix for this problem, but before it was fixed by a Lenovo R&R update.
    Thanks,

    Lenovo Toolbox Warning:
    No system backup has been made for the past 212 days..   and counting
    I really do not understand this Lenovo support attitude. How can anybody that is customer focused and enjoys his/her job, just fully ignore a customer problems ??
    Only one retired employee that is interested (thanks for that) but can not do much.

  • Unknown Error when trying to restore backup on iPad

    I'm trying to restore a backup onto my iPad 2, and every time I try to restore it, it does what it should where it starts to load and has the estimated time, etc. But when it finishes it says that there was an unknown error. When I tried to restore it, it did the same thing but instead gave me the error 1604, which I still can't get fixed either, but I tried restoring it on a different computer and it worked fine. So I thought there was something wrong with the computer that I originally tried it with that was causing the problem, so I transferred the backup onto the other computer and tried it and it game me the exact same error. I've spent days trying to fix this, and nothing has worked. I already looked at and tried doing what the support sites say with troubleshooting, restoring, recovery/DFU mode, etc. but nothing has worked. My iPad is on iOS 6.1 and I just upgraded iTunes to the latest version before I started all of this, and it is jailbroken with Evasi0n, although I've tried it with and without the jailbreak installed and it still has the same outcome. Is it a memory problem? Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it, or has any suggestions? And if not, is there a way that I can easily extract all of the files from the backup and put them on my iPad without using iTunes? Thanks.

    Error 1604
    This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
    If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
    Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
    Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
    Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
    The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
    If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
