Roadrunner e-mail just doubled?????

My roadrunner e-mail account on my iPhone 4s just doubled every e-mail that I have. It shows that I have over 1,800 new e-mails, but these are old e-mails that I've read and/or deleted. What would cause this and why would it double every single e-mail that I have on this account? I hit edit and selected all and mark as read, but I still have all of these old messages in my account now.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks,
J

Are you getting an error when trying to send the message or are you getting a bounceback after it's sent? What error are you getting?

Of course. To do it, open a Finder window, go to Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > General, and untick "Open folders in tabs instead of new windows".

My regular google gmail works fine.

You should be able to do it with Dropbox.

I have been experiencing the same problem. My mail app won't even open on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro. It will show as open, but the app will never actually show up.

    Hello Naila1,
It sounds like you are unable to send emails, as they go straight to the outbox, but you can get the emails without issue. I recommend using the Connection Doctor to help you troubleshoot what is happening with the following article:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Mail just stops receiving email

Mail just stops receiving mail randomly and multiple times through out the day.  We are using an in house IMAP mail server.  I can use Sparrow, PostBox, etc and it never stops receiving using those clients.  All I have to do to get Mail working again is close Mail and then restart.  It will work for a few hours then stop receiving.  When it is not receiving and can still send.  I have IMAP set up on my iPhone and it continues to receive even when Mail stops.  It has got to be a setting or something in Mail I just can find what it is.  I am running and iMac 3.4ghz, I7 with 16GB RAM, 256K SSD and 1TD SATA, and Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Any assistance would be appreciated.  I don't want to use the other clients, I would rather use Apple Mail.
    Thanks.

I re-booted and it went away... for now.  Will get back to you when it happens again so I can describe it.

  • TWC Roadrunner "get mail" button not working in Mail client

Roadrunner "Get Mail" button doesn't work in Mail client 10.4.6 on iMac Intel dual core running 10.6.8 . Activity bar shows 100's of emails downloading, but none appear in inbox.  sent and draft mails box updates normally. outgoing emails send normally. web version and iPhone Mail inbox work normally and showall incoming messages.  Preferences reset per TWC -  updated user names, servers, password etc.  Incoming and outgoing servers on desktop changed to "mail.twc.com" Ports correct.  Restarted computer, no help.  Connection doctor shows computer accesses internet and mail server.  memory capacity 65% of allowable by TWC.  Any suggestions appreciated.

  • How do I hide the "preview panel" in Mail. Double clicking the "separator bar" hasn't worked ( I think I know where that bar is.)

How can I hide the "preview panel" in Mail? Double clicking on the "separator bar" , as directed by Mail Help, does nothing. ( I am not certain where that bar is, but believe it to be the zone where the preview panel and the message space meet.) This issue only arose after I upgraded to Mavericks.

The only way I found to hide the "preview panel" is to drag the separator to the edge of the window. It shrinks the panel down to perhaps 1/2 inch in height and then disappears only when you drag it to the bottom (classic layout) or perhaps a couple inches wide (in the new layout). It is also annoying to me that you can double click to open the preview panel but you cannot repeat that to hide it. [sigh]
I submitted feedback about the help file as well - you may want to do the same. I could not find the double click mentioned in the new "Mail Help" - I know it was in the old version.

  • Every music file was just doubled HELP

How do I delete all the double music files? They are even doubled in the folders. Annoying. I paciently await you wisdom.
    Ipod Video   Windows XP Pro

First just so Im clear, Are they just double listed in iTUnes alone, or are they double listed in iTUnes and the folder there in, Like "Emenim -Im real" is listed twice in the "My MUisc" folder of windows?
If there doubled in the EXACT SAME folder in windows check each ones file format. You might of converted each song so one "Emenim" is a MP3 and the other is a AAC format

How to Adjust Mouse Settings in Mac OS X Lion
    By Bob LeVitus
7 of 9 in Series: The Essentials of Adjusting Settings in Mac OS X Lion
Some Mac OS X Lion users like to customize the way their mouse works. The Mouse System Preferences pane in OS X Lion is where you set your mouse speed and double-click delays.
If you have a notebook Mac, you may see a Mouse icon in the System Preferences application, but unless you have a mouse connected via USB or Bluetooth, it will just sit there searching for a mouse that's not there.
The first item in this pane is a check box that’s new in Mac OS X Lion: Move Content in the Direction of Finger Movement When Scrolling or Navigating. If scrolling or navigating in windows feels backward to you, try un-checking this box.
Next are the features you’ll find in the Mouse System Preferences pane (if you have a mouse connected):
Move the Tracking Speed slider to change the relationship between hand movement of the mouse and cursor movement on-screen.
The Double-Click Speed setting determines how close together two clicks must be for the Mac to interpret them as a double click and not as two separate clicks.
If your mouse has a scroll ball or scroll wheel, you also see a Scrolling Speed slider, which lets you adjust how fast the contents of a window scroll when you use the scroll wheel or ball.
If your mouse has more than one button, you see a pair of Primary Mouse Button radio buttons. These let you choose which button you use to make your primary (regular) click. Conversely, the other mouse button (the one you didn’t choose) becomes your secondary (Control or right) click. This is a setting many lefties like to change. Set the primary button as the right button, and you can click with the index finger of your left hand.

  • Mail just disappears (IMAP)

    hi all,
quite often I have the problem that some mails just get lost in Mail's Inbox folder of my IMAP mail account.
The thing is: when I log into my mail account via Safari I can see the missing mails there! So, the server has them in the normal Inbox folder but OSX's Mail doesn't have them any more.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to solve that problem?
Is there a way to resync Mail's Inbox folder with the remote Inbox folder on the IMAP server?
    Thanks a lot!
    Stefan.

    Thanks, David,
    for the quick reply.
Unfortunately, it didn't help. But don't worry -- I somehow lost the mails that were missing in Apple Mail on the server, too during my experiments.
So currently I can't reproduce it.
I'll further investigate if it happens again.
    Bye,
    Stefan.

  • Can't receive Gmail in Mac Mail - just started

I can't seem to get any of my imap Gmail in my Mac Mail account - just started happening. Connection doctor is ok, but the little spinner just spins and spins next to my Gmail acct and nothing downloads. Have access through Time Warner Roadrunner. I can see in my online Gmail acct that a few new messages have come in, but nothing will download in MacMail. My me.com acct works ok, just seems to be Gmail. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Mark

I should also add that when I try to send a Gmail message to myself at my Gmail address using the Gmail smtp server, the message activity bar goes about 1/2 way across and then just stalls.. Then I have two spinning gizmos - one next to my Sent box and one next to my Gmail box. I just tried sending out of my mobile me acct and that doesn't seem to go out either now.
I should also mention that yesterday I accidentally drug in a whole Project out of iPhoto to send a picture to someone and didn't realize Mail was trying to send the whole project. I saw under Mail activity that this was going to take forever, so I tried to cancel it. That may be part of the problem. Bad things started happening after that. I do also in my Gmail acct under the Sent Folder, a solid circle to the right of it with just a tiny part of it showing white, like it was at the beginning of sending something big, but never finished. Is there a way to clear all this out, as I'm suspecting something went amiss there - just a guess.
    Thanks,
    Mark
