Robohelp 9 Chinese output

Hi,
I am working on a Chinese language help file. I have an issue while generating chm output, using the Robohelp source files. I am using Robohelp 9.
If a file name is in Chinese font, in the chm output the content of the htm file is not displayed. Output is as follows:
This program cannot display the webpage
But if I change the file name to English, the content(Chinese)  is displayed in hte chm file, as in the source htm files.
Please let me know, how to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.
NOTE: I used the same source files and generated a Web Help output, which has come out well.

Hi,
The info from the above link is useful. But it is not related to my question. Hence, I am giving a detailed picture of my problem, once again.
If the htm source file name is in Chinese font, the chm output of the htm file is not displayed. Output is as follows:
Here you can see that my system is not able to recognise the chinese characters. Even in the left side TOC column the file names are displayed as question marks (????) in place of chinese characters.
But if I change the htm file name to English, the content(Chinese) is displayed as in the source htm file.
For example see the following image:
Here the Chinese content is displayed as in the htm source file for the topic, whose file name is changed to English. For example, the output of the topic Test (marked with a red arrow), is displayed as in the above image.
NOTE: I used the same source files and generated a Web Help output, which has come out well. The content both in the TOC and reading pane, is displayed as in the HTM source files of RoboHelp.
Also note that  the Operating System language, in my system is US (English).
Please let me know, how to solve this issue.    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have used Robohelp 8 to create help file. The webhelp output can be perfectly seen in IE 7 OR 8. However, in IE 10,  when the start page in the webhelp folder is cliked, the TOC is opening but the topics are not getting displayed in the right pane. • Search tab malfunction in RoboHelp 8 (WebHelp output)

I am trying to create a WebHelp output after importing a Word doc into RobobHelp HTML 8.  Once I generate WebHelp as the primary layout, the TOC and Index tabs work fine.  However, the Search tab isn't working: Regardless of the key word I use in my  search, the only result I get is a link to the imported doc (which imports as a single topic).  This isn't a helpful Search function at all.  What am I missing?

  • Using RoboHelp 7 CHM Output on a Server

CHM output from RoboHelp 7 (6, . . .), as well as any
application that produced CHM, will not load on a network device.
This is a known issue confirmed by Adobe. When Microsoft
Security Update 896358 was installed to address remote code
execution, chm files located on a server will not work load.
Typically, a single "Page Cannot Be Displayed" message appears when
you attempt to open the CHM.
My employer wishes to use the compiled output on SharePoint
and is asking me why we cannot. : - (
The only fix I've found, beyond downloading the file locally,
    is to hack the registry.
Does anyone have a fix or suggestion?

    Hi again Joe
As for books, all there is to the best of my knowledge is
Kevin Siegel's "Skills and Drills" book. It's intended to help you
learn RoboHelp with no instructor present and no help from anyone
else. It is the guide that many of us RoboHelp instructors use as
an outline. (Of course we add lots of additional value by offering
what the book doesn't cover) If you go looking on Amazon, beware
that a "RoboHelp 7 for Dummies" book also exists. But it is
severely outdated. This is because RoboHelp 7 was the "new" version
back in 1998! (Yeah, Adobe didn't conform to the logical standard.
If they had, version 7 would have been version 14. Version 7 is
    logically version 15.)
Not sure what to advise about the .CHM issue other than to
ask if you have used the Single Source Layouts folder and tried
double-clicking the layout. That action tells RoboHelp to generate
the output. If you try that, what do you see? Do you see a dialog
with a button labeled "View Result"? If so, what happens when you
    click it?
    Cheers... Rick

    Hi chalai369,
    Welcome to the Community,
If you don't have the chinese language in your device then you have to download that include " All Language "  or " East Asian " OS pack from your Carrier and then install it in you device using application loader from BB desktop software , Have a look on how to obtain a language pack .

  • RoboHelp won't output AIR Help

I'm making my first forays into outputting an Adobe AIR help application. The problem is... I can't figure out how to actually output it! I'm attempting to output from RH8, and when I attempt to output, I get a rather unhelpful message: "Adobe AIR Output could not be generated." When I look at the output log, there are no apparent errors:
    Starting compilation...

As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with my initial setup settings, but since this is my first time trying to get this to work, it's certainly possible.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Hmmm. i just did an air build and my log looks just like yours.
I have a lot more topics, but not sure why your update says 0 secs?
The only thing that caught my eye was
    Updating HTML topics...
    [file  names redacted]
    Finished updating HTML topics in 0 sec(s) : total 11 topic(s).
Do you have a project with more topics that you can test?
I just did an AIR build on a short project that only has only 5 topics with any thing in them but the Titles.
Update of 26 topics took 1 sec. Again the 0. sec in your log looks "hinky" to me.
I have attached my build log for you to see.
    Hope that helps

  • Robohelp 10 iPad output

In Robohelp 10, Multiscreen_HTML5 layout, I assigned the Desktop Layout to both the Desktop and the iPad. Both platforms show the content and work great, but the Search function does not work on the iPad. Typing a search term leads to the Search results page, but no results, just arrows ( < > ). The same search term does produce results on the desktop. Any ideas?

If you create a single topic project showing this problem and send it to me as directed on the Contact page of my site, I will take a look.

  • RoboHelp 10 EPUB3 output not supported in ADE 4.x?

In ADE 3.0 our monster help system looks OK but has some formatting and styling issues. I had expected by this time we'd see ADE pick up the CSS styling at least, but it appears to be even worse. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who may have used this publishing route and overcome issues.

I removed my photos and formatted the camera's flash card but it didn't help.  I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and they couldn't resolve the issue either.  The support person is forwarding the problem to Apple engineering.
    Thank you for your suggestions.

  • Internet Exploer 11 suddenly isn't showing my Table of Contents or Index for RoboHelp 10 output

I generated a WebHelp project with Adobe RoboHelp 10 last November. I had no problems with the TOC or index. Whenever I try to view output today, IE won't show the left pane with the list of topics in the Table of Contents. It also doesn't show index tags. I have no problem viewing this same output in Mozilla Firefox. I just set Firefox to be my default browser b/c it is so frustrating that I can't immediately view changes to my help project. Has anyone else experienced issues with IE 11? I even cleared cookies and the cache, and I still can't see my TOC and index. This never happened before.

    Hi,
Thanks to the forums I have found useful patches for RoboHelp 10 (sample links are below). I find that even after installing the latest AdobePatchInstaller.exe fix for RoboHelp 10 that I have to overwrite the whutil.js file in my !SSL! WebHelp_PRO output folder every single time I need to check changes in my output in the browser. I just want to confirm that there is no better workaround than manually copying whutil.js every time I generate my output to check it. Thanks.

  • RoboHelp 6 Print Docs

I was really looking forward to using RH6 to produce printed
documentation because I attended an Adobe seminar where the
presenter mentioned that there were lots of improvements. Well, I
am very disappointed. I have yet to create a print doc in RH 6
without first going through quite a number of 'Code execution has
been interrupted' message boxes. With RHX5, there were quite a few
formatting issues, which I hoped would be corrected, but I never
    got error messages like this.
I don't know what the problem is, but I would sure appreciate
    some guidance.
    Thanks,
    Mary

I'm also encountering this problem with RoboHelp 8 and Word 2007. Just started noticing it this week. At first I thought it was related to a language output. I was seeing it when I produced Chinese output. But it happens when I create my printed output for English.
I get the code execution error dialog over and over again:
Saw some discussion on it being related to macros enabled/disabled in Word but then found this thread. As the earlier poster noted, I tried searching my registry for  RoboPDF in the registry. No hits found. I checked my addin list in Word and I didn't see the Robohook.WLLs listed. I did find RoboHook.wll in the Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 8\RoboHELP\Startup folder. But there was only instance of it, so I didn't touch it.
I checked Add-Ins in Word and found that the RoboHelp Word COM Addin was disabled. I re-enabled it  in Word and restarted Word. Also restarted RoboHelp. No change. Same error message occurs.
    Any thoughts?

  • Automatic merging of map files in RoboHelp?

[Hope this isn't a double post; my first attempt ended in
network error and forum doesn't seem to have that post]
My group is charged with developing a help system using
RoboHelp 7. Output type will be WebHelp. The interface between
context-sensitive Help system and the target application will be a
single project's output and a single map file. The plan for help
development is to divide the work up into multiple layers of
projects. The final output will be the result of multiple project
merges from the bottom layer up.
RH7 enables this methodology with the WebHelp merge
module...except that it doesn't automatically merge sub projects'
map ID files (individual BSSCDefaults.h) into the master project's
map ID file BSSCDefaults.h. I can use a different name for the sub
projects' map files and import them into the master project, but
this still does not result in the master's map file being modified.
The map IDs remain dispersed across the multiple map files within
    the master project.
Is there a way to get an automatic concatenation of map ID
    files?

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping that the answer would
be other than that it's a manual procedure outside of RH7, but
that's the conclusion given my previous [admittedly brief]
searching within this site and thinking more about the RH paradigm
(as explained in the Grainge article as well as the other Adobe
    articles).
For now, I'm going to have the team use the following process
while we're shaking out our development methodology:
    - each author follows the established naming convention for
Topic IDs and use his/her assigned map number range when creating
map IDs which should guarantee that the IDs are unique across all
    projects
    - each author will export his/her projects' map file (for
java applications) to a subfolder within their project
    - rename the resultant BSSCDefaults.properties file to a
    globally unique filename
    - copy that project-unique properties file to the specified
    folder
    - one person/admin will concatenate the individual properties
files into a single file to be used by the application developers

  • Running RoboHelp 10 and RoboHelp 11 on the same system

    Background
    Windows 7, 64-bit operating system.
Upgraded RoboHelp 10 to RoboHelp 11 this week. Upgraded my RH10 WebHelp Proj project (released with our 2.0 application) to start editing for release with 3.0 application next June .
The upgrade did not uninstall RoboHelp 10.
I work from within Visual Studio 2010 Professional. (I know that this is not a Source Control thread, but my issues are intertwined here.)
I create WebHelp Pro (even though we are not yet publishing to RH Server, although we're working on it!).
I check the output into Release folders in Souce Control, and the build picks up the files for installation with our application.
    Questions
If I need to update the 2.0 application Help, does anyone know whether I can still use RH10 to update that project? (I've posed the question to an Adobe consultant, but have not yet heard back.)
If I can't use RH10 to update the 2.0 application Help (and have to open the 2.0 project in RH11 and, therefore, upgrade it), are there new things in RH11 that could affect the WebHelp Pro output and, therefore, affect the use of the WebHelp Pro HTM files by the application? (Our release engineer believes that, for version control purposes, I must make changes to the 2.0  project in the same RH Client used to develop it.)
    Thanks for any help.
    Carol Levine
    AIR Worldwide

    Hi,Carol
First, (and to reiterate what Rick said) if you are not publishing to RoboHelp Server right now. Do NOT use WebHelp Pro. The Pro flavor is strictly for hosting on a RoboHelp Server installation.
The good news is that when and if you do decide to use RoboHelp Server, you simply take the Rh project (whether from Rh 10 or 11) and publish it with the WebHelp Pro SSL. It sounds like there is a some confusion between RoboHelp Server and Source Control. It is a common option to use RoboHelp Server and Source Control. But they are mutually exclusive. (While both may be used, they have nothing to do with one another.)
If you think about it, RoboHelp Server is output (by definition not "source")
So, you can continue using Rh 10 and 11 clients on the same computer, but as you note, you cannot open an Rh 10 project in Rh 11 because it is a one-way forward conversion (as Peter said).
As for publishing, be aware that when you move to RoboHelp Server, the publishing workflow is different. The web admin can't simply copy/paste WebHelp Pro output (from source control as you describe) to the Rh Server (or, as you said, "pick up files"). The project must be published from the RoboHelp 10/11 client directly to the Rh Server. This is because Rh Server is a database application and in order for the database to be "aware" of the new content, it must come from the RoboHelp client app (10 or 11). Also, in terms of Application Help and context sensitivity, there is a CSH API and a syntax that is used to call the Rh Server help topics from the application. This is covered in the online help. See the sub head "Access context-sensitive Help" in the Adobe RoboHelp Server 9 * RoboHelp Server Web Administrator tasks as well as Adobe RoboHelp 11 * Program Help for web pages
