Robohelp Server Reports - No Data with Webhelp Pro Output

We recently installed Robohelp Server and while the admin client recognizes our published project, the searched term reports return 'no data found'. Is there additional configuration that needs to take place?

Creating PDF's with Central Pro Output Server for AS400 (iseries)

Today we generate spool files on the AS400 (iSeries)using Central Pro Output Server on the AS400. The user now wants to create the spool files as PDF's and then email them as attachments with a password to open them. Can this be done ?

I don't know if there is anything specific about the AS400 version of Central Pro that would prevent you from doing that. The Windows version comes with a task "JFPVMRG" that demonstrates how to create a PDF. Of course, the forms have to include the PDF "Presentation Target" before this will work. There is also a "JFEMSEND" task/agent for firing up the "messaging agent" that would do the emailing. I have no idea if you can require a password before opening an attachment.

Flexible upload of Reported Financial Data with Dr/Cr Sign

Hi! All.
I want to upload the reported financial data of Cons. Unit with Dr./Cr. Signhowever, there is no field in
Flexible upload that Dr/Cr Sign can be mapped to. If I map Dr/Cr Sign to Free Field , the system does not recognize that (Dr/Cr Sign) field..Please advise.
Secondly, Does the Reptd. Financial data has to have signs for FS Items.why does not the system pick up the signs of the FS Items of Cons. Units from the FS Items defined in BCS??

Hi Victor,
Do you know the concept of master and transaction data? -- As usually, you populate master data (attributes, like DR/Cr sign as in your case) first, and only then - the transaction data.
Load attributes of FS items through flexible upload or enter them manually.
After that the system will interpet incoming totals records according to the signs of the item and data.
Pay attention to the fact that not only item sign, but also a movement type sign might be interpreted by the system during a load.
Check if in your flexible upload method you checked the appropriate flags: take into account signs of item or MovType.
The interpretation is occurred as follows:
For example, your item has a negative sign and want to see in the totals negative amount. In this case the data record for this item should have a positive sign.
If the load method also takes into account a movement type sign, then loading data with 140 MoveType will result in + amount:
''(in data) * '-'(in item) * '-'(in MoveType) = ''.
However, with MoveType 120 you'll bring into the system the negative amnt:
''(in data) * '-'(in item) * ''(in MoveType) = '-'.
I'm assuming here that you set the appropriate (standard) signs for a MovType.

Simple question on uploading reported Fin. data with Flexible upload

Hi.
I am trying to upload Rep. Fin. Data with Flexible upload. I found that the all CR item should have the number with - sign. Firstly I think that Dr/Cr sign field in FS item will work for deciding the sign of all number but it doesn't seem to be. Is my finding right?
or do I missed something?.

You define a fixed debit/credit sign so that item values can be entered without the need for specifying the debit/credit sign (for example, in manual data entry or in flexible upload).
● You enter a debit (plus/) sign for asset items and expense items.+
● You enter a credit (minus/-) sign for equity and liability items and revenue items.
When you enter item values, you only enter absolute amounts or quantities. When the values are written to the database, the system multiplies each entered value by the debit/credit sign of the item (and when applicable, by the debit/credit sign of the item's subassignment).
If I missed anything, please advise me.
If my finding is right, please let me know what is the use of DR/CR sign in FS item.

Hi,
Your findings are correct.
Your may have (and may use) the sign of FS item and sign of MovementType. They may work during data load, in order to place data into database with the proper sign. That's all.

TOC/Search window not displayed in WebHelp Pro output

Robohelp10, WebHelp Pro -
I've got what I have to think is pretty fundamental question: When I generate my WebHelp Pro project, everything works perfectly until I move the contents of the output folder to a network drive for viewing. When the default topic opens, rather than displaying the TOC/Search window on the left, I'm getting a link that says "Show". Click that link, and the TOC opens right up.
I would like to have the TOC displayed on that initial view, without requiring users to click the "Show" link.
Again, when I view the results of the output on my local drive, the TOC is displayed. The obvious problem is, the generated help needs to reside on a network drive to be accessed by our users...
PS: The project is on my local drive, only the contents of the output folder are being moved to the network drive. Also, everything other than the TOC display seems to be working fine.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Larry, Rick has solved your conditional build issue. However, do check to make sure you have all the updates installed for RoboHelp 10.
WebHelp issues in RoboHelp versions 10 and 11
I notice you are using IE. Does the Show link occur with Chrome or Firefox as well?
Meanwhile, I'm still suspect that you are not opening the correct "default" start page file to launch the WebHelp and that's why you're getting that "Show" link. This is "tell-tale" that you are opening the default topic file instead of the default Start Page. By chance have you somehow named your "default topic", index.html? If so, this is not correct.

Content Server Report- Document types with file sizes & Status history

Hi
We are about to start with implementing Seal Systems, however we are a global company with to start with 4 content servers in different regions of the world. In order to determine bandwidth for future strategies, I need to know what is stored on each content server in terms of document types, type file and size of files attached to each document type and of course date created and status changes of each document.
In addition we are of course contemplating usage of SAP Cache servers, not only for better responses, but also for backup purposes.
What we are using is SAP ECC 6 with the content servers using MAX DB. I have contemplated creating a Z program in order to return only the required information for import in Excel where I can then manipulate the returned result to a report which fits us.
But before I start with this, does anyone know of any report or tools just to do that within SAP? I have seen these capabilities in other PLM solutions.
I would appreciate any feedback in this regard

maybe transaction DB20 could help you here.
From DMS side tables DMS_PHIO2FILE and DMS_PH_CD1 are most relevant for original data stored in Content Server.
Regarding the changes of documents report MCDOKABL will show you all the changes done for a specific document.
For maintaining and monitoring content repositories please see transaction CSADMIN.

URL problems with SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 with wildcard SSL certificate

I have single server, domain member, with SQL Server 2012 SP1 Reporting Services.
I am trying to get work with url: https://reports.mydomain.com
I have valid wildcard certificate (*.mydomain.com) implemented and configured URLs in Configuration Manager.
https://reports.mydomain.com/ReportServer - works fine
https://reports.3pro.hr/Reports/ - I got error:
The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
In rsreportserver.config I have:

When looking my ReportServerService_date.log file I have something like:

I spent one of my 4 free support incidents with Microsoft (part of MSDN subscription) this year to get this investigated. The tech support person helped me through several issues but had to leave to attend some training, and I got past the last hurdle
before she called me back. Here are the steps that resolved this issue for me. I know for sure that step 5 was necessary. Step 1 may not apply to you, and steps 2-4 may or may not have been necessary (they didn't immediately fix the issue,
but I didn't roll them back either so they may have been necessary.)
Step 1:
Ensure you are editing the correct rsreportserver.config file. I had been making changes to a file that was installed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\14\WebServices\Reporting, but that was a rsreportserver.config
file for some sharepoint integration that I'm not using. The correct path on my system was E:\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config, but yours may vary. If you can't figure it out, look in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft
SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Setup in the key named SQLPath, and then go to the ReportServer subdirectory of that path.
Step 2:
In rsreportserver.config, ensure that SecureConnectionLevel is set to the value 3. Was set to 0 in my configuration. Corrected line in your rsreportserver.confiog file should look like:

Step 3:
In rsreportserver.config, add the correct value to the <URLRoot> element (which already exists in the file.) In my configuration, this value was blank. The value should be the fully qualified path to your report server, with a hostname that
is valid for your certificate. For example, if my cert matches *.mydomain.local:
<UrlRoot>
https://myserver.mydomain.local/ReportServer
</UrlRoot>
Step 4:
Ensure that your certificate exists in Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certmgr for the local machine. I had the certificate installed as a Personal certificate for the local machine, which I still think was correct (the certificate wasn't actually
the problem and worked correctly for Report Server, and the failure was caused by SSRS incorrectly making a https request to a localhost URL), but she had me remove the certificate from Personal and add it to Trusted Root Certificate Authorities. That
broke things and the cert was no longer listed as a cert I could bind to, so we then copied it so it existed in both Personal and Trusted Root Certificate Authorities. This is how I left it, not sure if that was necessary.
Step 5:
This was the fix that finally got things to work. In rsreportserver.config, add the same value to the <ReportServerUrl> element (which also already exists in the file) that you added in step 3. In my configuration, this value was also blank.
The corrected value should be the same as in step 3, for example:
<ReportServerUrl>
https://myserver.mydomain.local/ReportServer
</ReportServerUrl>
Then restart your report server (stop & then start in Report Server Configuration Manager), and the problem should go away. At least it did for me.

Does Server Monitor software work with Mac Pros?

Last time we were purchasing a new server we noticed that Server Monitor doesn't work with Power Macs. Is this still the case with the latest Intel-based Mac Pros?

Just to clarify, are you saying that OSX Server is running on the Power Mac and you are using another computer to connect?
If so, which version of each software and which Power Mac?

Search external files on RoboHelp Server

With the RoboHelp Server (previously called the RoboEngine)
installed on a server, you can add external files to your WebHelp
or FlashHelp project and have the Search tab also search the
contents of those files (PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, and HTML). All you
have to do is create an HTTP or FTP link to the external files and
the RoboHelp Server will scan them and add them to the search
index.

Data Driven EMail Subscription in SQL Server Reporting Services...

I have a clarification in SQL Server Reporting Services Data Driven Subscription. We have a request to send an email a report based on the report parameter Site . The request is to send email For each site the report is running, email should sent to different recipients list. We have 97 different sites in the Site parameter.
If Report is running for Site C004 the email should be sent to one recipient, if the Report is running for Site C007 , then the email should be sent to another recipient. Here we have been requested to do with Data-Driven Subscription. How to send the report as a email for each site for different Recipients using Data Driven EMail Subscription.
Please give us a suggestion to overcome this problem.

Thanks for your comments. We understand the Data Driven subscription, but we dont know how to write query for this subscription. here is our scenario.
There are list of sites in the table. like C004, C007, C008 etc..... in the report,
We have Site parameter (All Sites (default), C004, C007 etc....) and also date range parameter (Start Date, End date) (which are not defaulted in the report) and other 2 parameters. Here we need to send the report to different recipients based on the site. C004 report results should be develivered to one recipient, C007 site results should be delivered to another recipient and so on....
As we are new to Data driven subscription, can you explain how to create table that will be saving the email recipients list and the query that we are specifying in the Data Driven Subscription. Please help us to how to create the data driven subscription for the above scenarion.

Does Robohelp Server store all of its data in the backend database?

Does RoboHelp Server store all data in the database and only code and templates on the web server?

We need a separate web server and database server. All the content must be in the database. It looks like RoboHelp Server might not be the right architecture.
Web Server > XSLT
> Client Web Page XSLT/XML
Database Server > XML

Upgrading from RoboEngine 3.1 to RoboHelp Server 9

Old-time user, new ID. My company recently upgraded from RoboHelp 4 to RoboHelp 9. (Yes, we're slow about some things.) I was recently asked to upgrade our WebHelp Pro output, which had been posted to an old RoboEngine 3.1 server. Of course, the new RoboHelp 9 output does not play well with RE 3.1, and I got a "RoboHelp Engine server is not available" message when I attempted to upgrade the output. After doing a little research, I discovered that this lack of backward compatibility began with RoboHelp 7.
Fortunately, I made backups of my old WebHelp Pro output, and our users can still access the Help files. But I've been tasked with researching the upgrade path from our old version to the new one. So here's what I'd like to know:
Is buying RoboHelp Server 9 sufficient?
Is the process of publishing the Help files to the server reasonably similar?
The server that hosts RE 3.1 is a Windows 2000 machine. Will I be able to run RH Server 9 on it?
Will I need to provide new URLs for the Help links inside our Internet-based software after the upgrade, or will the old links, which use the format http://machine.org/roboapi.asp?project=ProjectName, still work?

Welcome back Chet. I nearly typed the obligatory "Welcome to the RH forums" greeting when I saw your single post but that doesn't seem right here
The issue here is that the underlying RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server code was completely rewritten in Java. Personally I'm surprised you managed to get RH9 output running on RE 3.1 at all. It just goes to show what a error tolerant application it is.
You'd be far better off upgrading both the client and the server applications. I think you'll be surprised at just how easy RHServer is to install and use these days. No more fiddling with permissions. As for publishing, you still have a WebHelp Pro SSL in RH9. It does have some additional options and the UI of the RH Server application will have changed also. There is a lot of new functionality. You may find that the URL for the help is different though. There is an excellent guide that is worth reading called the RoboHelp Server Reviewers Guide. You can find it here and it will answer a lot of your questions.
One thing you may want to consider is migrating the data from RE3.1 to RHServer 9. The new app has a migration tool that can migrate from an earlier release. However I am not sure if it could cope with data from RE3.1. You could try, and it is doesn't get the data into the new database with SQL.

What are the major difference in server and desktop version.
Precisely, i am looking for anwers of :
1. can we create independent (does not look for robohelp
server to get data) executable files (.exe, .htm) so that we can
link it to our application software.
2. if we buy RoboHelp Desktop, then what are we MISSING...if
we buy robohelp server

Hi Rohit.
RoboHelp 7 client (or desktop) is the tool used to produce
the help documentation output files. It allows numerous output
types to be generated, one of which is Webhelp Pro. Webhelp is
designed to be located on a server, website or intranet. Webhelp
Pro is a version of Webhelp designed specifically for the RoboHelp
7 Server product.
RoboHelp 7 Server takes Webhelp Pro output and publishes it
to a server. It's main advantages are that it allows you to produce
reports of the usage of the help to identify its usefulness. It
also allows you to include standalone files and make them
searchable to the user. This includes PDFs, HTM and MS Office files
but not .EXE files. To be honest I can't see what could usefully be
included in a .EXE file that would be useful to a user of the help.
So in summary, you need a copy of RoboHep 7 to produce your
help output (Webhelp Pro) and a copy of RoboHep 7 Server to publish
the help to the Server and get the usage/search capabilities. If
you don't want these capabilities you can do without RoboHelp 7
Server and still publish Webhelp output to a server.
BTW I'd remove your email address from your post if I was
you. If you don't you'll be offered all sorts of additional
(non-RH) advice involving parts of your anatomy, world peace and
financial well being.

RH7 - connection error when try to access RoboHelp Server 8 from Pod menu

I'm using RoboHelp 7 with WebHelp Pro layout to publish my project(s) to RoboHelp Server 8. I've got RHServer 8 set up and can view the Admin window when I access the server.
However, locally when I open my project in RH7, I get a "Connection to Server Failed" message below when I select View > Pods > RoboHelp Server and then click "Connect Now" on the RoboHelp Server tab.
Connection to Server Failed - The server you entered in the Properties dialog for the primary layout cannot be contacted. Please verify the spelling or contact your system administrator to verify the server is running.
This makes no sense because I'm able to view the project published to the server via File > View Primary Layout from Server.
I'm also able to publish my updated project files to the server without a problem.
FYI - I'm still testing RoboHelp 8 and when I select the RoboHelp Server option indicated above, I am able to view the Admin window prompts in RH8 on the RoboHelp Server tab.
So why can I see the Admin function in RH8 but not in RH7?

Glad that somebody else too got this problem. Well, as I had mentioned in my previous posting too, I think there are some procedures in the package, dbms_lob, like the writeappend, createtemporary etc.. which is not found in my dbms_lob.sql file, I am using 8.0.5, but I found these procedures in the 8i, I think it is becos of that.
By the way if anybody got this solution and got any workaround, please help me too.
I am still waiting for the solution to that.
