Role of PI developer during and after upgade SP in PI

Hi PI Gurus,
Can any one guide me, what all the activities I need to keep in mind before and after going upgade to SP.
We are currently using PI7.1
The interfaces which are in QA system, are they going to be impacted? Can I transport objects during upgrade, or i have to wait for upgrade of all the 3 systems.

Hi,
Before starting SP upgrade, Unregister the queue in SMQR and close all the communication channels.
After upgrade, we have register the queues and start the CC. Test all the channels for the connectivity.
Check all the links in RWB i.e alert inbox, message monitoring etc.

ESR role in different development, test, and production systems

Hello,
I want to know the role of ESR in development, test, and production system. Do I have to install ESR in every seprate installated SAP CE machine??? or should It be centrally and development., test and production systems can use it?? Does software release process effects in the whole landscape??
does Test and Production system requires ESR??? or all used services are embed into released software SCA files to test and production system???

Hey,
as far as I understood the ESR is a design time tool, i think you don't need to have a productive instance.
I think it should be installed on your PI systems. And I would prefer to have at least a devel and a test installation, to
separate services on test machines from those who are running on productive systems.
as you can't differentiate the services by their name but just by their systems, you should have separate ESR Instances.
Nevertheless I think it could be possible to run only one ESR....

[Dell E5510] Blank screen during and after boot

Hello,
I performed system update some time ago (2 or 3 weeks) and left my computer unused. Today I tried to power on it and I was very surprised, because I didn't see anything on screen during boot and after it. I rebooted computer in fallback mode (I also added "i915.modeset=0" to kernel init args), and I saw command line. Then I updated whole system and rebooted it again - no luck again blank screen during boot and after.
I rebooted it one more time, but with default kernel (I disabled KMS again via GRUB command line) and I saw systemd output during boot. I teems, that all services were started successfully, because all messages were prefixed with "OK". Then I cloud only use command line, because Gnome 3 was not running under seventh console.
Any idea what is going one here?

SPA112 FW bug confirmed: registration broken during and after outbound call

After receiving and configuring my new SPA112, everything seemed to work out just fine: registration to the SIP proxy, inbound calls, etc. However, at some point I discovered that outbound calls would typically only work for a certain amount of time, after which the connection to the callee would be lost, just like the my registration to the SIP proxy. In the SPA112's Web interface, the device reports "Registration State: Failed" in such cases. Only a reboot of the device will result in a successful registration again. Firmware version: 1.3.5(004).
To diagnose the problem, I enabled both syslog and debug logging and started capturing and analyzing what is going wrong:
[Before call]

These two registration sequences (regular SIP messages at the one hand and the debug messages at the other hand) are alternating, and the succesfull registration is followed by the failing registration in a short time, so most typical state is "Failed".
Any suggestion on what I could try to solve the issue is welcome!

I'm able to reproduce the problem in my test lab.
It seems that device can't fetch IP address of the SIP proxy from it's internal cache during active call (GetServerAddrErr error -101). And the issue doesn't solve in full even after the calls end.
It is not networking issue between device and DNS server as no DNS query has been issued (the IP address is cached from previous query that has been responded successfully).
As a workaround I configured proxy IP instead of name.
It work.
It seems we hit (another) firmware bug.

Copy Paste doesn't work during and after a remote login session

Hi
I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 laptop to login into Linux. I am using Putty and Xming to SSH and view the desktop. Whenever I start a session the copy paste functionality gets disabled in my laptop,i.e., I cannot copy text from one text
file to another or within the same text file. The copy paste doesn't work even upon closing the connection.
From what I have gathered it is not possible to copy from one computer(host) to another(guest) during a remote login session but I am not able to copy within my windows laptop.
Is there some setting that I need to change to prevent it from happening? What are the possible solutions?

Are you able to copy and paste in the putty session, with mouse or keyboard?

Please restart your PC to check whether you can get back the copy and paste function. It can be caused by some compatibility issue.
Please also run "sfc /scannow", check if it find and fix any errors.

Blue screen error (BSOD) during and after installation of Windows 7

I had to reinstall Windows 7 via the recovery partition. During the installation I kept getting Blue screen errors and even now I am still getting BSOD within minutes. I have no problem in safe mode.
My laptop is a Satellite C650D-12C. I wanted to update BIOS but I can't in safe mode. What should I do next?

Recovery image saved on HDD is tested so everything should be OK with recovery image installation.
What you can try is to use Microsoft installation disc to see if the same will happen again.
If yes, Im afraid you need professional help with this. Notebook has probably valid warranty so the service guys should check this.
Have you created recovery DVD?
BTW: I think BIOS update is not solution. Recovery installation must work with this original BIOS version.

Multiple Problems during and after Factor Reset

Hi, I am using the mobile for the past month and had a great experience using it. the phone was good in every context. recently I just had to do a factory reset and when i was doing the reset for the first time, it took about 25 min or so which is too long. After the reset I started noticing so much lags whenever i try to perform multitask or play a normal 5mb game. Also the phone takes about 5-6 min for a normal restart which it did in 1.30 min previously. The battery backup is reduced to 19hrs from 38hrs. Experiencing heat problems too I have the phone updated to S144. No new apps installed. Is there anything you can do about it? Thanks in advance

Constant uploading during and after opening Safari

Hi- for the last few days, every time I open Safari, it immediately begins uploading upwards of 300 kbps of data, and continues even after I quit and have no other applications open. I had thought this kind of thing doesn't happen to Macs, and it seems I can't find any instructions anywhere on how to stop it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have no idea where it's going, or what is sending it; my internet connection is just constantly uploading while Safari is on and keeps doing it, without any applications open, until you restart the computer.

Crashed during and after itunes export

I wanted to export a track to itunes from GB3. My itunes resides on external drive. When given the command to do so, GB3 displayed itunes as if it had never run. It cleared my whole list. (The files survived.) I then copied them to the "new " itunes, reset all preferences and smartlists and though I was fine. But the next time I restarted my imac, all user preferences were lost. It was as if I had turned on the machine for the first time. itunes library (again), Address Book, bookmarks, my Pictures file wont open (says "volume cannot be found"), and worst of all 3 GB# songs are gone completley. Somehow Home documents were saved. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to ever turning my computer off ever again. Is there a way to retrieve my GB# tracks? How do I get my Picture file found? Can i reverse Sync with .mac to save address book and Bookmarks even though they were not officially backed up but still show up on the .mac site. Can I ever restart my computer again?

You are right. it is a system issue...although I have to stress that the original loss of my itunes library happened as I was attempting to export a track to the itunes library (on an external drive) from Gargeband 3. Is there a "way" to do this beside "export track to itunes?" Did it matter that itunes was on an external drive?

During and after downloads, the file is not viewable in the download window. I can find the file later by going to Explore and selecting my documents/downloads.

When I download a file the download window opens but not files are viewable. I cannot execute a file from this window. I can open the download file using Explorer and then execute the file from there. Why are the files not viewable.

In the Finder,navigate to your projec folder. Look in the Shared Items folder. Is there a video ffile inside? Does it play intact?

Can I download final cut pro X trial version and use final cut pro 7 during and after the trial period ?

My company uses Final cut pro 7 and I have to know if we can try Final cut pro X on one of our G5 and, in the case of we can't switch to FCPX, if we can use FCP7 again without re-initialise it. Thanks

You cannot use FCPX on a G5. It's Intel only.

2009 i7 iMac Screen Stuck at Black during and after Startup

Have had this iMac since early March 2010, its been great and my favorite apple product to date. 4 Weeks ago I left to Europe and left my computer OFF and with the power cord not plugged into the wall. I came back, plugged it all back in and turned it on...everything worked fine, surfing the net and CS:S i leave again last week to Denver and left the computer in the same way, OFF and unplugged. I came back today turned it on, i hear the fans, I hear the computer starting up, my external hdd gets power but my logitech mouse would not get power through USB. Ten minutes later my screen is still black, no flickering no nothing just black. I then went ahead and turned it off via power button and disconnected all peripherals mentioned earlier and still nothing. Called applecare they made me do some power cycle thing and still nothing, now I have a Genius appointment tomorrow afternoon....any ideas? Could the screen just have died or some connection on the board burned out? Thanks in advanced!

Should still be under the one year limited warranty.

Mac running very slow during and after downloads (even if they are just small docs)

I'm getting very frustrated with my MacBook. Whenever I download something, no matter how small the file is, the MacBook really slows down to the point that it is impossible to work on.
Any ideas why or what I can do to fix it would be much appreciated please.

Keeping my line and hub going during and after maj...

I'm doing a bit of work to my house
Basically, the wall on which the phone socket curently sits (and where the Home Hub is plugged in) is going to be knocked down.
I'll be staying in the property for most of the works and need constant internet access for my work.
So I guess I've got to get an engineer to come out and reroute everything. Do BT do that?

It Openreach that would do the work. They can only be booked via BT, or whichever service provider you pay for your phone service.
The charge is normally £130, unless there is a lot of work needed.
