Routing in REM

Can we use normal routing,   in REM, if we can use normal routing y  we should use Rate routing
In rate routing production line is to be used,  there are no of work centres with different operations
then wt is this production line,,,,  what is the line hirarchy  pl let me know
i want a  scenario steps where production line  is used in rate routing
thanks all

Dear Himakar,
A rate routing is a routing for repetitive manufacturing. It enables you to easily reproduce the lean
production process. In the rate routing, the production rate per operation is defined (production time
according to a base quantity). *Set-up time is not usually defined, since no changes to setup are
planned.*
So its not required to mention any value for set up time ,so that its not considered for costing and the
other processes.

  • Rate routing in REM

    Hi all,
I am working on REM and I am bit confused about scheduling and capacity data to be entered in workcenter (production line)
Specially the formulas to be entered in both the tab for REM.
1.I want to capture only Machine and labour time . suggest  the std actvity type , std value key and the formulas related to activity type for both scheduling and capacity defined for REM in the system
    2. my second doubt is unlike in std routing I cant define all the operation in Rate Routing I have to define one operation for one production line. but how to define the so many operations used in one production line.
    3. can I use any control key or is there any specfic control key is there for REM
    4. How user will withdraw the material from store for production . like in discrete we have GI.
    Regards
    Mona

    Dear Monalisa,
1.First understand how a formula works during capacity and scheduling by checking the formula in the work center, for some
base quantity, operation quantity and processing time and then choose the relevant one.
2.normally PP01 is used for inhouse produced operations.
3.In a REM scenario if required the materials(raw materials or the components) will be staged using T.Code -MF60(to
accumulate the stock in the production storage location from which the components should get backflushed).Using this the
system creates a stock transfer reservation for 311 movement for the missing parts.
Input can be the planned orders or production orders or else directly for the BOM explosion with the required quantity of the
header material.Once the stock transfer reservation is done, the same can transferred using MF65.
    Kindly check these threads,

  • Incorrect routing in REM Backflush

    Hi Experts,
While doing REM Backflush, after clicking "Actual activities", system is showing previously deleted operations and not showing the added newly added operations, hence these activities are coming in Actual cost.
Where as in preliminary cost estimation, consider the operation correctly .
REM profile is defined with " Post Activities  -  Using data from prelim. costing f. product Cost collector "

  • ISCSI boot with Intel NICs added to windows 2008 r2 routing table causes non iscsi traffic to attempt default routes on iscsi networks

I have a server with Intel 82576 Gigabit Dual Port Nics.  I have configured them to use iSCSI boot the primary looks to 10.0.0.1/24 and the secondary looks to 10.0.1.1/24.  The target is configured correctly.  Everything boots as expected.
I have added the MPIO feature and configured MPIO for the iscsi initiator as per: http://blogs.technet.com/b/migreene/archive/2009/08/29/3277914.aspx.
My issue is that the iSCSI networks show up in the routing table like so:
I did not configure a default route in the Intel setup utility:
I tried to explicitly remove the 0.0.0.0 entry and leave blank, with no change.  As you can see with the above routing table traffic attempts to travel over these routes:
    C:\Users\Administrator>ping google.com
Pinging google.com [209.85.145.99] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.0.0.201: Destination host unreachable.
Reply from 10.0.1.201: Destination host unreachable.
    Reply from 209.85.145.99: bytes=32 time=23ms TTL=51
    Reply from 209.85.145.99: bytes=32 time=22ms TTL=51
    Ping statistics for 209.85.145.99:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
A ping to the outside world first attempts on 10.0.0.x/24 network, then on 10.0.1.x/24 network and then finally on the network the traffic should go over.  I don't want my iSCSI traffic to ever show up with a default route.  How do I get rid of it?
route delete 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 "on-link" results in: The route deletion failed: The parameter is incorrect.
route delete 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 on-link results in: The route deletion failed: The parameter is incorrect.
route delete 0.0.0.0 deletes all default routes, then I have to add back in the "valid default route" of 192.168.100.6.
I would like to not have to do a route delete though.

So I've sort of given up on fixing the gateway assignment in the route for iSCSI boot.  I configured a DHCP server to give out the information required by iSCSI boot and configured the network cards to use DHCP for their configuration.  I insured
that my DHCP server gave out no default gateway entry.  However, I still got the undesired routes in the routing table.  This makes me assume that there isn't a "fix" for it, only the workaround.
Here is the script I run on each iSCSI Boot initiator (you would obviously change the ip number to suit your environment):
    @Echo off
Rem fixes iscsi route problem as shown below:
    Rem IPv4 Route Table
    REM ===========================================================================
    REM Active Routes:

REM The top 2 lines are on the iscsi interface and traffic tries to go out it
REM We need to delete the routes, so we'll just delete all gateway routes and
REM add back in the one we care about.
    route delete 0.0.0.0 >c:\iscsibootroutefix.log
    route -p add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 192.168.100.6 >>c:\iscsibootroutefix.log
    After running it I get:
    IPv4 Route Table

Then I added a task in “task scheduler” of "administrative tools"  that ran as the user “system” “when the computer starts” that runs this script.

  • Standard routing and rate routing

    Hi All,
Can someone tell me what tables I should use to get the standard routing and rate routing for the query?
    Thanks
    Edward.

    Dear,
    Yes you are right.
The main difference between routing and rate routing is you can not create parallel sequence in rate routing CA21 only nothing else.
There are lot of different opinion on this topic but there is no too much difference in them only we use rate routing in REM and normal in Discrete manufacturing.
    Also check this thread ,
Difference between routing and rate routing
    Hope clear to you.

  • Difference between Routing & Rate Routing

    Hi All,
can anyone tell me difference between Routing & Rate Routing? can we use routing for REM? if no, then what will be the effect?
    Thanks,
    Rinky

    Hi Rinky ,
Routing and rate routing are task list in broad manner .
standard task list: Describes the worksteps necessary to produce a material or perform an activity without reference to an order.( that means they are created without reference to order )
Essential objects of a task list are header, operations, material component allocations, production resources/tools and inspection characteristics.
Together with specific dates and quantities, task list data forms an important part of the order.
The following task list types exist in the R/3 System:
    routing
    reference operation set
    rate routing
    reference rate routing
    inspection plan
    maintenance task list
    standard network
    master recipe
Routing is created with ca01 and rate routing by ca21 .
Routing is used in discrete manufacuting and rate routing in repetitive .
Rate routing generally has only one operation  and prod line instead of work centers and operations in routings .
Both routings can be used for scheduling , cosing and capacity planning .
Hope this was helpful answer !

  • Reg REM scenario

    Dear all,
Please clear my doubt what is the difference in REM profile when , we create REM profile we use in control data  back flush from standard cost estimate  for material instead of data from product cost collector
Can we use normal routing in place of rate routing in REM scenario
    Regards
    venkat

    Dear Venkat,
Yes we can use a normal routing instead of rate routing in REM scenario.
When creating REM profile you have 2 option whether to post activities and whether to post as per the standard cost estimate
details or based on the preliminary cost estimate of the product cost collector.
If the option is elected for standard cost estimat is a mandatory before production booking that's backflush using MFBF.
Check and revert back with your queries.

    Eric

    Hi,

  • Tricky design problem

The system I'm working with stores travel paths. The tricky thing is that these travel paths must be unique.
    Path, [Locations]
    1, [A, B, C]
    2, [A, C]
    3, [C, A]
    4, [A, B, C, D]
Note that path 2 and 3 are fine since the order of the locations has changed.
Since the number of places a path can include is relatively small, I thought I could create a compound unique secondary key for each path consisting of the UID of each place in the correct order (in the correct order and separated by a hyphen). To bind a path to Locations and vs. I'd add an associative PathLocations Table (including sequence information) and implement an insert/update/delete trigger that would modify the associated Path's compound key. This would fail if the unique constraint was violated.
Mechanically this will no doubt work, but it feels so ugly I wonder if anybody had an elegant solution for this problem.
Thanks for any ideas and pointers in advance.

  • No automatic goods receipt in MFBF

    hi all,
we encounter the following serious problem:
ECC 6.0, REM environment, specific routes (CA01), Rem Profile with obligatory reporting points and Goods receipt at last reporting point.
aditionally in the operation that is backflushed, the control key is set so that GR Automatic takes places.
however, with all those settings (and proper cost calculation) NO goods receipt takes place.
help appreciated & suggestions are welcome. cheers

    Dear mebuzing,
1.First check what REM profile have assigned to the material in the material master in MRP4 view.
2.Now check the settings for this REM profile in OSP2 for reporting point backflush and automatic GR
    posting atlast RP when backflushing.
3.Now for the last operation which you confirm 131 (GR) will be happening for the product which is
    getting confirmed.
4.Check the document that's getting generated during MFBF through MB03.
    Come back with your queries.

  • REM Routing set-up for SFG & FG

    Hi all,
I just want to ask a question on what is a more logical set-up in REM, to have 2 separate routings for the FG and its SFG, where there are final backflushes for both, or 1 long routing where both routings of FG and SFG are combined, where the last operation is the final back flush of the FG and there is a reporting point back flush in the middle of the routing, for the SFG?
    Thanks in advance!

    Dear Bear,
what i understand a little bit from your query
    1) the reason for maintaining two Rate-Routings with two different Group Counters is
if a material can be processed on two lines at a time then we maintain two lines
    2) i.e Combination of Bom & Rate-Routing is Production version
    3) so per the Lot sizes defined in Production version system will check the demand qty & Pick
    the Production version in MRP
    4) so if you want to distribute the total qty into two PV's then you can go with MF50 ( Planning table )

  • Manual routing selection in REM.

    Dear Gurus,
Is there any configuration settings for manual routing selection in REM ??
    Regards,
    Pradeep

    Dear Pradeep,
Why do you want to select the Rotuing manually?
Once if your Product has got 2 different routing ,it might be
because of Shop Floor constraint or for costing purpose, after
creating a new routing, you have to create a Production version
for a combination of Rate routing And BOM.
After that you have to create a Product Cost collector using the
new Production version and create a preleminary product cost
estimate for the product cost collector and save.
If You want to decide at that time of production
confirmation, which routing has to be used, then before this step
you have to change the REM profile for that particular product (
whose activities are posted  using the Preleminary cost of the
    Product Cost collector).
Check with this, your problem will be solved.
If still exists, revert back to forums.

  • Production Order in REM

    Experts,
I found that even if the material (Fert) is having REM scenario set up, it is possible to create production orders for the same material.
One of the material is having MTS REM scenario for which production is driven by planned Orders(run schd). Periodic settlement is done.
By mistake production Order was created for the same material.Goods receipt/issue is also done for this production Order.
How to restrict the system for not allowing to create the Production Order for REM scenario?
    Thanks.
    Suresh

Please note that Routing is required to create a Production order as the std setting in production ordere dependent parameter-OPL8.
Any way my sugestion is please delete the production order types if you are not using production order types.
In case if you are using production order for other materials then
    goto OMS4
create  a status - XX , with production PO header message = E,
Assign this status in baisc data1 of the material - X material status (for which system should not create a Production order)
    You will get following message
In-house production is not intended for material XXX status cannnot produce with descreet manufactreing
    Message no. CO 050
