Rows to display in narrative

Hi ,
In narrative OBIEE, at the section : Rows to display .
We can inpurt number of row to display, but I want to display from 4th to 8th of rows :
Ex:
1      Robert Ter
2      NameTr
3      Iden Roo
4       Adam Lio
I want to display row 2nd to row 4th.
The result :
2      NameTr
3      Iden Roo
4 Adam Lio
Please suggests me how can I do that?

On 2nd column sort it alphabetical order and use 'Rows to display' in Narrative view with value 3 (ie. N-1) .
That would avoid first row ie value Robert Ter

Hi, Trying it once more to give more clarity of my scenario.
I have to navigate from 1 screen to the other by picking a given table record/row from the 1st screen. While displaying the record on the 2nd screen the catch is that, I have to display it as many times as the value in a cell of the selected record.
eg.
screen 1
col1 col2 col3
2 order1 item1
[next]
On clicking next it should look like
screen2
col1 col2 col3 col4
order1 item1
order1 item1
where col3 and col4 will be editable by the user and col1 is the value depends how many times i have repeat the row/record

Empty report with pagination, rows not displayed

Dear HTML DB Team,
We have in our reports the next error: An empty report with pagination appears , no rows not displayed
The test case to reproduce the error:
1. Create "SQL report" with next report attributes in "Layout and Pagination"
a. Row ranges 1-15 16-30 in select list (with pagination)
b. Number of Rows : 15
c. Number of Rows (Item): empty
d. Max Row Count: empty
2. Fill the table on which the report is based with 17 rows
3. Go to the 2nd page of the report , pagination rows 16-17 of 17
4. Remove 2 rows from the table, refresh report
5, The pagination shows now 1 - 15 of 15 rows
- no rows displayed
- no "previous button" ( only )
- no way to get the rows displayed, except logging out and in again

Hello,
i encountered the same problem while developing in HTMLDB.
In application builder, i select application Application 106, then click on items, then click next ( the application has 22 global items). Now i want to take a look at the global items in application 105 (there are only 5). In the menu i click Builder - Application 106, select application 105 from Available Applications, click Go and Items. It shows no rows, but says that is displaying rows 1-5, and offers a Next button. No way to see/modify the items unless make a new session or go back to Application 106, Click Previous to see the first page of global items and then again switch to Appication 105 or click to the next button and then manually set pg_min_row=1 in URL.
One more question - is this forum the right place to report bug suspicions, or is there some other special place for that?

Max number of rows to display in a pivot table

I have a pivot table with two row levels and I need to fix the max amount of rows to display at the second level to five. Can I do that on excel 2013?
Example

Hello,
you can use a filter to display only the top 5 items of the second level, based on their value. To do that, right-click on a label in the second level, then select Filter > Top 10. Change the 10 to a 5 in the next dialog.
You can also create a label filter, but it only takes one filter condition.
Another way is to select the rows you don't want to be shown, then use right-click > Filter > Hide Selected Items

Adding new rows after displaying subtotals in an ALV report by using OOABAP

Dear All,
I am creating an ALV report, displaying subtotals and total by using Classes. I have used classes CL_SALV_AGGREGATIONS (Method : add_aggregation) and CL_SALV_AGGREGATIONS (Method : add_sort) for sorting and doing subtotals.
Output of my report as follows :- (I have used * for displaying spaces between fields)

-> Basically I need to add few more rows for displaying above additional information in the ALV grid after displaying subtotal .
Q: Do we have any methods for change the layout for the above requirement.

For such type of requirement you need to use ALV hierchical table.
You can have your main table in master table.
For quantity greater than 1 you need to move the data into a seperate internal table....this internal table will have material as the key between the main table and the second table.

Selecting first 15 rows and displaying next 15

I wish to select the first 15 rows from my database and then have an option select a next page, whereby the next 15 rows are displayed. I'm not sure how to go about it, could someone enlighten me. For reference, it would be something like how the forums is done, whereby they display x amount of threads, and you would have to go to the next page.

This can be done by retrieving the first 15 using something like rownum <= 15 in the where clause.
Then, by remembering the ID of the last thread that was displayed you select threads id > lastID and rownum <= 15... that is the first 15 rows that match your query starting immediately after the last thread searched.
It's not unusual to retrieve and store a list of the Thread IDs completely as this allows a more stable feedback at the expense of heavier session information being stored.

LOV throws NullPointerException when there are no rows to display

Hi,
I have cascading LOVs in my application. I have 3 of them. I select values for the first 2 LOVs, and then I click on the 3rd LOV. The query for the third LOV returns no records from the database and so, a NullPointerException is thrown.
When there are no rows to display in the LOV, I want the LOV to still pop up with a message saying "No rows to display".
Is there a way I can achieve this functionality using the existing features?
I am using JDev 11.1.1.3.0

Not all rows are displayed in OBIEE answers

Hi,
When I include a dimension column(PRODUCT) along with my fact column(SALES AMT), I am getting only one PRODUCT row displayed.
If I select just the PRODUCT column without any FACT column, I am getting the list of all PRODUCT(25 rows).
I used the query generated by OBIEE, and ran it in my database and I am getting all product listing and the sales amount. (25 rows).
I am assuming my problem is in my RPD. But where in my RPD should I look to debug this issue?

This is probably correct behavior - you probably only have one product existing in your fact table? If you want to see all the lists of products along with $0 for the facts, you'd have to do an outer join between the dimension and the fact.
Of course, if your fact table does have other products in, then there's some other problem - maybe dim joined to fact on wrong column name or something.

In the case stmt for particular button you can do:

Front Row - External display

Hi everyone,
Hope I'm posting in the right forum.
I was so happy when Snow Leopard (automatically) used my external display for Front Row display. However, it left me with a new "wish".
Front Row fades the display on my iMac to black... Is there a way to leave the display active so I can use the computer while my wife watches films?

Return more than one row to display as text?

I don't know if this is possible or not. I'd rather not create a report for one item.
is there a way to allow a display as text filed show more than one item from a query? I've tryed several things none work. I have one field that I'd like to show multiple data as just text. but everything I try displays one row only in the field. is there a way around this?

If you're trying to display multiple records as separate parts (not just concatenated together), the easiest solution would be a report. If you just want to append values together and present them in a single item, you should be able to create a query to build your string pretty easily, though you might need to write an Oracle function to do the concatenation for you.
I wrote a function to do that a while back, obvious you should check it thoroughly before you use it.

Unselect all the rows when display my table the first time

Hi all,
When I execute my webdynpro the first time my table is displayed with the first row selected, but this is false, this line is not selected.
If i execute the method get_selected_elements don't return anything in the table, but if i do a Click in this row then works fine.
I tried to unselect all the rows when i display the table the first time in the method WDDOINIT doing the following;
DATA lo_nd_my_table TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA: lt_elements TYPE wdr_context_element_set,
             lo_element TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
             lo_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
lo_nd_my_table = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_my_table ).
lt_elements = lo_nd_my_table->get_elements( ).
LOOP AT lt_elements INTO lo_element.
    lo_element->set_selected( SPACE ).
ENDLOOP.
But, doesn't work...
How can i do it?

You don't need to DE-SELECT each element of the context node.
You can try the following:
lo_node->set_lead_selection_index( -1 ).
"lo_node is the context node which is bound to your table.

Number of rows to display in a popup LOV

My popup LOVs display 10 rows at a time by default. Can that be changed, and if so, how?

you can use a filter to display only the top 5 items of the second level, based on their value. To do that, right-click on a label in the second level, then select Filter > Top 10. Change the 10 to a 5 in the next dialog.
You can also create a label filter, but it only takes one filter condition.
Another way is to select the rows you don't want to be shown, then use right-click > Filter > Hide Selected Items

This is my Report format

Now my requirement is to display Count in the result row as
Date             A/c number    Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07        123            10   20   0
                234            20   30 30
                456            50    0 25
                789             0   25   0
                Result          3    3   2
01.07.07        124            10    0 10
                134            30   30 30
                457            40    0   0

and to be more precise this is my requirement

I made key figure Calculate Result as Count <> 0 and Calculate single value as Supress Result for each key Figure and A/c Number No display I got result like this showing all data as blank, however the rows will exist.
Date          Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07
3    3   2
01.07.07
3    2   3
But I need my result should be like this
Date        Kf1 Kf2 Kf3
01.06.07     3    3   2
01.07.07     3    2   3
How can I Acheive this either by work Book Or by Query ,

If I remove Ac no from this it gives me a result as summation
Date        Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07    30 22
In the same way the KF should give me count of the accounts
Date        Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07    3    2
But I am getting now as If I mention Count<> 0 in KF properties
Date        Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07     1    1
If I place Account Number in report which I dont want to Then i will get count
Date        AC no Kf1 Kf2
01.06.07     XXX   10 12
             yyy   15 10
             zzz    5   0
            Result 3   2
