RSA1 - Source system connection : Change in logical system name

Dear friends,
Can you please tell me how can i change the logical system name for a source system connection.
There is no change in source system & source system connection check works well, just we have decided that from current logical system name SID_100 should be changed to SIDCLNT100.
Can i do this by running BDLS in BW for RSBASIDOC table from SID_100 to SIDCLNT100 ?
thanks
ashish

HI Sunny,
This is not the same problem, may be similar though..i am not getting a way.
let me describe u in a bit more details.

  • JDBC to Idoc scenario - change of logical system name

    Hi,
I have a JDBC to idoc scenario that worked. Now i had to change the logical system name from my sender system from ABC_123 into ABC123 in the SLD (Business System - Integration - Logical System name). I did so and also refreshed my Cache.
Afterwards I started the process, but it failed in the Receiver system. The idoc is correct expect of the partner name. My receiver system expect ABC123 - as I changed in the SLD - but PI send ABC_123.
If io look in SXI_CACHE - Services my Business System still got the "old" name (ABC_123).
Did i miss something resp. how can i load the current configuration from SLD?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Again Import the changed logical system in the Integration directory of you PI system.
And check the scenario (Sender Agreement, Receiver agreement ) what system they are reflecting.
If they are showing old system then you have to replace the business system in all the scenario.

  • 'SPROXY' - Multiple PI Systems connected to one ECC System for ABAP Proxies

    Dear Experts
I am currently facing an issue when I want to connected multiple PI instances to one ECC client for

In transaction 'SPROXY', in the Enterprise Service Brower, only one PI instance is shown and accessable.
Can this setting be changed to allow multiple PI systems in this Enterprise Service Browser?

  • BW system connecting to multiple ECC systems

    Hi,
I am new to BW world & has a question to Gurus
    1. Can I connecte a single BW system to source from multiple ECC systems (activley) with out any technical issues ? I am assuming that the multiple ECC systems are pretty much mirror images.
    2. If possible what are the areas ( at a high level) I need to double check to make this happen ?
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Hari,
Yes, you can connect multiple ECC systems to one BI system in one of my project we had more than 20 ECC systems connected to BI Production system.
How this works is because source system and BI system has got different provisions for that,
    1) For connecting different systems you simply need to create RFC connection between them. After the RFC is formed you can load data from any of the systems.
How BI system differentiate similar data coming from these systems?
There is a field called 0SOURCE SYSTEM which is used as Compounding field, or primary key field where ever you have data loading from multiple systems, this field basically contains the 3 char source system ID and is used to differentiate records coming from different source system.
How delta is managed in this scenario?
In source system for each data source, a new delta queue is maintained for each target system.

    Durgesh.

  • Change of logical system name

    Dear Experts,
I have following situation in ECC 6 EHP4 system:
a system copy of PRD system was peformed on QAS. POst system copy BDLS was NOT run, and logical system of QAS client was maintained manually.
Now  client 300 in QAS has logical system as QASCLNT300 (after copy it was PRDCLNT300). The problem is that many accounting documents still point to PRDCLNT300 and hence can not be viewed now since log sys is QASCLNT300 now.
I can not run bdls now bcoz for BDLS target logical system should be new. Also for last few months new accounting docs has been generated for QASCLNT300.
Is there any way around? pls suggest
    -Thanks,
    Richa

This is a situation , where you cannot run BDLS now and you face issues with accounting docs .
As far as I feel , you will have have to redo the system copy and run BDLS again. The logical system name should never be maintained manually in SCC4.

  • Is it possible to change the Logical System name in ID

    Hi,
I am doing a file to Idoc scenario. My requirement is to overwrite the logical system name, which is set in SLD for sender (system). Is it possible to overwrite it in ID or in mapping somewhere.
    Thanks,

    Hi Dehra,
Go through the below help file of SLD. It will give you information regarding logical name as well:

  • Mutliple R/3 Systems connected to 1 APO System - Location CIFing issue

    Hi,
I have a situation like 2 R/3 systems(S1&S2) are connected to 1 APO system.  S1 is old system and S2 is new system, I am trying to connect with APO system.
    In Development environment:
I have IMs in S1 to APO system, to CIF the master/transactional data. Some of the master/transaction data will be CIFing from new R/3 system(S2). I set the deletion flag to LOCATION in APO and CIFed from new R/3 system, it worked fine. This is working fine in Development.
    In Test environment:
I have set the deletion flag to LOCATION and trying to CIF from new R/3 system. I am getting the following message
"Location 9999 of type 1002 (BSG BSG_TEST) already exists in APO".
I have verified the /SAPAPO/C1, /SAPAPO/C2 about the logical system and BSGs set up. It looks same as development. I also verified the the data in /SAPAPO/LOC, /SAPAPO/LOCMAP table for data. There is no record for location type 1002 and location 9999.
Any one has got this kind of issue? How did you resolve? Am I missing any config?
Thanks for your time and efforts in advance.
    Thanks,
    Sree

    Hi ,
Have you mapped both the R/3 instances to same BSG group in APO ?
    is it that location 9999 exists in both R/3 systems (S1 & S2) ?
in APO transaction /sapapo/loc3 just put this location number without the location type field and click on display. If the location is shown in APO , means that the location existis in APO and it is transferred as distribution center (loc type 1002).
Now you might be trying to send the same location as production location (loc typr 1001) , so it is conflicting with the exisiting definition.
Even though location is flagged for deletion for APO , you have run the report /SAPAPO/DELETE_LOCATIONS which can be scheduled as job in /sapapo/loc3 -
    > Extras -
    >Delete locations.

  • One R/3 system connecting to TWO BW systems

    Hi ,
When we connect two bw systems to one R/3 system,
could you please exlain what is the imact to SAP and BW in terms of query performance, batch performance,Develoment ,Quality system, security,BW Support.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    kranthi

    Hi,
Well at first thought, i wouldnt go for the Landscape that you are suggesting. Because of obvious reasons:
    1. Performance issues while loading, on reporting.
    2. Data sources might work fine for one system and not for the other, then the whole setup is hit badly.
    3. Security and management of the 2 systems, will be a big task.
    4. Jobs would take a longer time if the Batch processes are not sufficient.

  • Two BW systems connecting to an OLTP system

We are upgrading our BW systems(3.5) to  BI 7.0.
We are planning for a parallel Break-fix path. so we made a copy of our BW dev system(BWS)
    BWS-BWQ-BWP
    BWS2-BWQ2
BWS2 is a copy of BWS and plan to upgrade it to BI 7.0 .we plan to retire BWS after upgrade is completed. When we try to restore connection for R/3 sourcesystem(DV1), it  gives a message with DELETE and DO NOT DELETE option
" The connection BB is used in DV1 sourcesystem as a connection BWS to BW
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system
The connection is restored after it is deleted successfully."
If i select "delete" it deletes connection to BWS and restores connection to BWS2, but if i select  "do not delete" it is not creating a connection for BWS2.
How do i restore connection for BWS2 to DV1 without deleting the connection For BWS to DV1.
I need to connect BWS and BWS2 to DV1.Please let me know How can we do this?
If we can have connection for both BW systems to R/3 system, Do you see any issue with Delta loads?

Did you resolve this? if yes how ? please let me know.
    Thank

  • One Portal System connecting to Two CRM Systems

    Hi All,
We have One Portal System EP 6.0 and we are trying to connect CRM 4.0 DEV and CRM quality.
i mean one portal system connecting tow CRM systems.
How the ivew connects two different CRM system.(dev and quality).
One way I am thinking that we have to maintain tow system alias ie SAP_CRM, SAP_CRM_QTY
and for the CRM quality, i have to change system alias all the iveiws.( becoz by default the system alias is SAP_CRM
    1. Is there any other solution for this?
    2. How to maintain the crm content for two different CRM systems.

  • Two SCM Systems connected to one ERP System

    Hello Experts,
Here again I got a doubt.
Is it technically possible to connect two SCM Systems via CIF to one ERP System?
Because I heard that we could connect more than one ERP System to one SCM System, but not vice versa.
If you have seen a system in production like this, what are the pros and cons of having such a scenario?
    Expecting your valuable replies!
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi,
technically it's no problem to connect two or more SCM systems to the same ERP system. We have one for DP/ PP/DS, one for EWM and one for SNC connected to the same R/3 systems. You however might get problems with the bom explosion for planned orders being sent from SCM to R/3.
The bom explosion uses field MARC-APOKZ which is maintained automatically by CIF. If there are multiple SCM system using CIF for product master data the field might not be set up correctly and the bom explosion could be wrong.
As a solution SAP provided OSS note 1576703.

  • Archiving : Change of Logical File Name & physical path

    Hello friends,
We are doing archiving for a Z* archiving object.
We run a write job(not delete job till now) for this archiving object and it created archive files in .../SYS/GLOBAL directory as was expected from settings of Logical File Name and hence physical path corresponding to it. So far no problem..
Now, requirement is to change this path and for this i created a new Logical File Name with a different physical path.
My concern is, about already archived data in older path. Should i only run delete job for that session ?
Or should i copy the archive files to new path and then start delete job OR do a write job once again..
    please suggest.
    thanks
    ashish

    Hello Juan,
Ok, i can copy the files, those are not too many as we did it only for 2 months selection.
Can i go for write job again for same selection ? If yes, probably it will create a new session.. correct ? and then i will go for deletion for new session.
If this is also correct way, i want to do this.. as till now this has been one for only 2 months and we are going to do for 8 yrs.
One more question, will the be any problem for having 2 sessions for same selection.. means 2 write or archive job for same selection.
    thanks

  • JDBC System Connection VS BI JDBC System Connection

    Hi All,
I've created a BI JDBC System which connects to the MS SQL Server 2005, and the connection tested successfully. I am now able to browse for tables.
But I need to access stored procedure as well, so i created a JDBC System with the same Database URL, Driver Class Name, and User Mapping. But i failed the connection test with the error:
com.sap.guimachine.portalconnector.commandhandler.CommandException: Failed to connect to backend system. Check your system definition and user privileges.#
    Any idea?
    Thanks & Regards,
