RSS portlet Error!
Hi,
I am using the RSSPortlet 1.0 downloaded from Sun's site. I have deployed it in Open Portlet Container but its giving out an error!!
Invalid URL, please re-enter
Invalid XML: Error on line 4: The element type "meta" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</meta>".
This error comes when I am entering a new feed URL and saving in the edit page. Again, this error comes in the view page as well while reading the first rss feed.
I have tried using well formated xml file as well as I have tested the URLs which I am entering.
Can anyone suggest anything? Has anyone used the RSS portlet?

Did you put future date and month intentionally ? Sun, January 2016 ?

Hi,
I am currently using Weblogic 7.0. Does weblogic provide a RSS portlet for Content
Syndication on the web. The "WorldNews" porltet available with SamplePortal of
Bea Weblogic. throws an error on accessing that particular page(on which the World
News Porltet resides). Any pointers why this error could be occuring would be
helpful.
The error that is thrown at the server is

RSS Portlet ... rendering markup?
I installed the RSS reader portlet (by the way, it works in 6.1) and noticed that html markup isn't being rendered as html markup.
For example, if the rss has a link, the user actually sees the brackets, br tags, etc.
Anyone found an easy fix for this?
Also on my wish list was fixing the proxy settings and allowing it to ignore SSL errors...AAARG. I'm starting to hate this RSS portlet.
So I have a forums software (phpbb3), that I'm pulling in RSS feeds from.
So I can put javascript into a forum post, and it will be propertly html escaped in the forum and in the feed....
it looks like this in the forum and in the rss feed:
<script>alert("hello world")</script> <-- those are supposed to be "& l t ;" and "&g t ;" instead of the actual angle brackets
however, in the RSS portlet, you actually see the hello world alert, and when you view source you see the angle brackets and not the < >...
sigh ... any ideas?
I"m not sure what the solution should be here...if I turn on html encoding in reader.jsp, then every tag gets encoded, even br...so its not really a good solution

i switched up some things in the RSS feed for my forum so it double-escaped the script tags. all's well that ends well.

Portlet Errors at Initial Login
We are receiving random portlet errors upon initial login. It simply says "Error" in the portlet title heading and the portlet contents are not displayed.
Refreshing the web page corrects the problem, but you'd think that a fresh login wouldn't mean it was a caching problem, right? This is happening to all users from different workstations, and different portlets are affected at different times - but always at initial login....

Are there any timeout logs in your provider log files? My guess is that the error is due to timeouts. You could try increasing the provider timeouts to a sizeable amount :)

describes how you can use this portlet in your own portal application. Furthermore,
it claims that it is possible to use different instances of the RSS portlet with
different contentURLs. I am unable to figure out how I can set the contentURL
as an instance property. It appears that it can only be globally changed for the
entire portlet itself, meaning that all instances of this portlet have the same
content.
Any hints appreciated.
Jani can only assume that it is a portlet preference. you can go in through the admin
tools and set them or if the portlet hase an 'edit' button they should be editable
through there for the end user.

I made some changes to the footer - color portlet, and now, all I get is an error when I try to open the portlet to edit. The error is copied below. Any suggestions?

I don't see an error message their but I do see a Cascading style sheet printing
out. you may just be experiencing an html problem.

Strut-Portlets errors in Weblogic 8.1 SP5
I am getting the below mentioned error when running a portal containing Struts-Portlet in Webloigc 8.1Sp5.
I have tried everything but not able to resolve it, does anyone know how to resolve and how to successfully run a Struts-Portlet application?

NetUI to get the action to forward to. The problem appears to be that the struts-config is not getting picked up or registered with NetUI.
One thing to try is to do inter-op between Struts and NetUI/pageflows first to make sure the struts-config is being picked up and then layer on the Portal layer.

RSS implementation: error MM_XSLTransform error.
I'm new to this forum so please forgive in advance any dumb questions. I am using CS3 trying to post RSS feeds on my web site from an external xml source. I have configured a testing server running Suse 11.1 / Apache/ PHP 5.2 for development purposes. I create the XSL fragment and can preview the data fine in the browser using the F12 in DW; however, when I import the XSL fragment into a (PHP) web page I get the following message:
MM_XSLTransform error.
The specified file /frag7.xsl could not be found.
I have imported the above fragment with the site root parameter selected, which obviously doesn't work. If I select the document root then I get a plethora of really ugly errors when I preview the page using F12. So the problem appears to be some incorrect interaction of the XSL fragment after it gets imported into the php page, aside from that it works fine.
I am at a loss how to troubleshoot this from here.Will this help

I created a Web Service - Remote Portlet,then set value of Basic Authentication Settings is "User's Basic Authentication Information". When related remote server refer to tomcat5.5,the Web Service - Remote Portlet is fine to run,but not when the related remote server refer to weblogic9.2.
When value of Basic Authentication Settings is "Use Remote Server Basic Authentication Information", related remote server refer to weblogic9.2 or tomcate5.5, the portlet is fine.

If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. I set value of Basic Authentication Settings is "User's Basic Authentication Information" because the Web Service - Remote Portlet need to get the portal's login user infomation.If the value is "Use Remote Server Basic Authentication Information",the application is fine to run.
The follow is the way to get login user infomation.

The behavior that you are seeing is an expected one. As i can understand, you have an HTML form element whose name is a fully qualified parameter & currently at runtime it is _piref1_41281_1_1.next_page If you carefully observe this, this name itself contains a period (dot).Hence when the browser tries to execute this, it thinks that _piref1_41281_1_1 is an object (which it isn't).
The whole issue is because there is a dot in the fully qualified name which has this format _piref<portletInstanceRefId>.<ParamName>
You could do the following to get it work. Use the following,
document.standinglist.elements["._piref1_41281_1_1.next_page"].value = "/htdocs/stand/standcancel.jsp?flag=flag";
Note however that this method call will not work on portal 3.0.9. when viewed using IE. This is due to IE's bizzare handling of this javascript call.
Since, you are using Portal 9.0.2, you should not face any issues.

Hi,
OCS Mail works well in Webmail and it works well in WAC also.
But, my problem is about Mail Portlet.
For the first time of the opening OCS 10g, Mail portlet works well.
So, it tells the recent inbox mails' subjects to me.
But, it occurs error now.
For all mail user, it occurs error.
Error message is the followings :
Failed to retrieve content. Contact System Administrator if problem persists.
Help me!
