RSS updating - Episodes in iTunes - many questions

First off, I am completely HTML stupid. I bought a mac, bought a .mac account and started making podcasts in garageband.
Two nights ago I uploaded my fifth episode, just like the previous four. here's the link:

So, why hasn't iTunes updated my podcast in the store?
Why won't it show all five episodes under the description?
If you answer in code, I seriously won't know what you are talking about. I bought the .mac account to make everything really easy, and I want to see this podcast in the queue...

You forgot to include the link to the mp3 in your last episode.
You are missing titles for all your episodes.
You have a random <itunes:block> tag in your feed which could cause iTunes to block your whole feed.
Your itunes category is out of date...try "music"

I have a podcast that is not showing newer episodes. My feed appears to be fine because I can subscribe to it and see the new episodes. I've also updated iTunes artwork and the store updated that within a day. Is there something wrong with my feed?

This is rather weird - it would be more usual for episodes after a given date not to show because of an error, and earlier ones shouldn't be affected.
However, there are a number of minor errors in the feed and I would refer you to the FeedValidator report. There is one which struck me as a possible cause for problems. The title tag of one of the episodes for 18 December reads
<title><![CDATA[Already Opened My GiftsÔøΩ]]></title>
The characters after 'Gifts' show up as a '?' in most readers but from what you see above it looks as if you've managed to insert something odd, probably by initially writing in a word processor (never a good idea). You should delete whatever you see after 'Gifts' and if you want a question mark type it directly in a plain text editor. -
Updating episode on iTunes store

which is a web page containing a download link. This won't work: you must provide a direct link to your media file. If you enter the URL in Safari it should play in its own window in Safari with nothing else. Sendspace doesn't look to be a suitable place to host your media files.
The filename has spaces in it - spaces are not allowed in a URL: the feed has correctly substituted the code %20 so it wouldn't be a problem if that URL didn't redirect, but it's bad practice and you should remove the space - replace them with underscore.
You don't have an 'itunes:duration' tag containing the duration in HH:MM:SS format, which is why no duration shows. -
Podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes

I am having a problem with my podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes. The last 5 episodes I published appeared in iTunes at the bottom of the episode list, as if they were old episodes--i.e., they appear as if they were the first 5 episodes published. They also do not have a date assigned to them as the rest of the episodes do. They were not distributed to podcast subscribers, possibly because iTunes is not recognizing them as new episodes.

The problem began with last Wednesday's episode, which was Episode 30, and has continued ever since. I did not do anything differently when I published that episode than I did when I published the previous 29 episodes, and those updated just fine, or at least seemed to as far as I could tell (i.e., they appeared correctly on iTunes, and appeared as a new episode for me as a podcast subscriber). Also, after examining the rss feed, I could not see any difference between episodes 1-29 and episodes 30--34, at least as far as the way the feed was formatted. So, I have no idea what triggered the problem, and no idea how to fix it. If I can't resolve the issue then I think I'll have to abandon the podcast, since there's no point in publishing a podcast that doesn't distribute new episodes to subscribers.
If anyone can shed light on this problem for me, it would be most appreciated. Thanks!
-KevinAs you say, in the Store the latest episodes don't show a publishing date. When subscribing in iTunes, none of the episodes show a publishing date, and they are listed in the order they appear in the feed.
In the feed, none of your episodes has a 'pubDate' tag, which is where iTunes gets the date from. Since most of the episodes in the Store have a date, it looks as if originally your episodes had this tag, but that five episodes back you did something in whatever method you are using to create your feed which removed these tags: the Store is presumably getting the dates from its cache since the episodes haven't changed, but obviously doesn't have the dates for the last 5 episodes. -
Using iTunes/Ipod mini on multiple computers (many questions)
Hello I recently purchased another computer for myself. I would like to use iTunes and my ipod mini on this computer but I would also like to continue to use it on my family's main pc. Is this possible? Do I have to worry about that deauthorization of computers, or the license, or is it fine to use on two pcs? I just don't know how all that stuff works but I think I remember something about having iTunes on one pc only.
Now for the second part of my questions. How do I actually go about transfering iTunes and my ipod to another pc? Do I just install iTunes like normal and transfer my files using an external hard drive? My family pc will remain as the main one for now but eventually I'll switch it to my laptop. I don't care about playlists and song ratings because I don't bother with that. What I want to do is simply have the music that's on my family pc put onto my laptop. I have bought an external hard drive so I could transfer the music without much problems.
Finally can I switch between my laptop and home pc? I mean can I use my mini from my laptop and then later update it from my home pc and do other things like that. I'll use the songlist from my home pc for now but eventually my laptop will become my main one. I know I read something about clicking no if I want to change the music library when plugging in my ipod to another pc. Do I have to keep both iTunes updated to the same version and the songlist the same? I'm wondering if there will be any conflicts between the two.
I'm sorry about how confusing this all is and the many questions I have but I hope somebody can help out. Thank you.

Installed 11.0.3 today. Tried to update apps. iTunes response was, "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." I REALLY don't understand. I paid for MANY applications and stole or borrowed NOTHING.

To move to iphoto 9.6 (required for Yosemite) You must log in to the App store using the Apple ID that was used to set up the compter (or purchase the application if it was purchased later), backup your iPhoto library and then download and install iPhoto 9.6 from the App store

PDF as podcast episodes in itunes?
I have seen this question asked before in forums but with not with an answer.
I want my video podcasts also to have pdfs downloaded as separate aside podcasts. I've seen this done many times especially in language learning podcasts. Can this be achieved using iweb?

Thank you!I’ve seen .pdf files in iTunes also. I’ve done some investigating as I may be using this feature in the future for lecture suppliments. This is what I’ve found:
As you may know, you can create an ‘enhanced’ podcast in Garageband. This will allow you to place images (any kind – like lecture slides) or even .pdf files as ‘chapter markers.’ There should be a little tutorial (video I think) about how to do this with Garageband. There’s a plus and a minus to adding extra content this way. The plus, is that you can present images to your listeners at any point in the podcast. If they have the latest version of iTunes (or maybe even earlier – I’m not sure) they will see this extra content in the ‘album art’ window. They can click on the content and see it full size in a separate window. In addition, you can give this content a url – meaning that listeners can click on the link and go to a webpage or even a .pdf file (hosted somewhere). The downside is that this embedded content is ‘one dimensional.’ I tried to embed a multipage .pdf file and was only able to access the first page (because the podcast treats this as a chapter marker). All that to say that this ‘enhanced’ podcast is not what you are seeing on iTunes.
The .pdf files that you see in iTunes come from the RSS feed of the subscribed podcast. I found a tip on doing this here:

This seems to be how it works: When a person subscribes to the RSS feed, it’s a simple file on the web somewhere. This file tells iTunes what to go and get, as well as things like content and file type. You can have an RSS feed that tells iTunes to get a podcast and a corresponding .pdf file. It’s actually pretty cool.
But here’s the hang-up: iWeb creates your RSS feed. And like most things in the 1.0 version of iWeb, advanced things require work-arounds. It looks like iWeb creates a RSS feed from your podcast blog structure. I don’t know of anyway of altering the RSS feed (like you would as shown in the link above) except for just ‘getting in there.’ As we know, iWeb has a tendency to create brand new files when performing changes. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if your ‘altered’ RSS feed that includes the .pdf link goes away when you add a new podcast episode (hence creating a new RSS feed). That means a lot of tedious work every time you add a new episode (to re-alter the RSS file to include the .pdf files).
Here’s what I see as the least ‘bang you head against the wall’ solution. Use an enhanced podcast with urls to the pdf files. You can add the file to the main episode page in your podcast or have it hosted on an ‘invisible’ page on your site. Listeners in iTunes will be able to link to the .pdf, and listeners off the iWeb page will also have the .pdf in front of them. iWeb should be OK with this, as the RSS feed isn’t being changed after publishing and the links should be stable. The other solution is to create podcasts and not separate pages for the episodes (just drag the podcast files to a folder on your iDisk under iWeb). This way, you can create an RSS feed that includes the .pdf files. However, this means that people will only be able to listen (and get the .pdf) if they are using iTunes with a subscription to your RSS feed.

My feeds are updating but the iTunes store has not updated
I put my rss feed up on feedburner and all my feeds have updated but the iTunes store has not updated. I was wondering if there a simple explanation for it. Subscribers to the podcast have gotten the most recent update but the store hasn't reflected the new changes.
When you add a new episode to your feed and upload it, it appears immediately for subscribers because their iTunes application reads the feed directly and the Store is not involved.
However because of the huge number of podcasts in the Store (thousands) the Store caches the feed and checks it for updates periodically. For this reason it usually takes 1-2 days for new episodes to appear in the Store: sometimes it can be less, and occasionally the whole process seems to get stuck and it can take several days.
All this assumes that you haven't made an error of some sort in adding your episode: it's not possible to comment on that unless you would like to publish the URLs of both your feed and the Store page - this latter can be found by control-clicking on the podcast image (or where it should be) - and choosing 'Copy link'. Please include the http:// in both cases to make the links clickable. -
Podcast episode in iTunes feed but not on preview page
I have been experiencing different behavior with my podcast in the iTunes store this week. My latest two episodes took a couple of days to update in the iTunes feed when for the past two months they have appeared within an hour. What concerns me is that they are not displaying on the preview page for my podcast in the iTunes store, even the one that was published two and a half days ago. Apple's email support persists in telling me how to submit a podcast to the store and suggesting that I phone support and ask my question for a fee. Liberated Syndication tells me that the feed URL is accurate and that the episodes in question have been published. It also says several of its customers are experiencing this problem currently with iTunes.
Any ideas?

iTunes is unable to read this feed because there is a fatal error in the episode of 27 November. The 'itunes:subtitle' tag contains an ampersand ('&') by itself - because an ampersand indicates the beginning of a code sequence which is never completed, and this renders the feed unreadable. You need instead to use the code
&
as you have in fact done elsewhere. Since this is in episode 5 this is why your subscription stopped at episode 4. I'm not clear how the Store has managed to keep updating, except that the Store and the iTunes application are quite different things and it may be that the Store software has been arranged to ignore this error. Anyway, make the change and it will work again. (Make sure there aren't any more instances of this.) -
Safari RSS update prompt since last update?
Since the last update about 2 weeks ago, when I'm on Safari a Safari window pops up every 5 - 10 minutes asking for my name and password regarding "new RSS email update". I have never seen this before, don't know what it is, see no RSS update option on my gmail page, can't figure out why this window asks for my password and also says it will send me a password, and until I know more I've just been canceling it. Why is this happening and how do I get it to stop? I've looked at the google mail blogs and at least 12 other gmail/Safari users have had the same problem but no one seems to know what to do. I've also posted a question to google support but haven't received an answer. However, as the window that pops up has a Safari symbol, I assume it has something to do with Safari.
Also, since the update, it is taking significantly longer for pages to load and often times out, at which point I check diagnostics and see that I have a connection but then I can't close diagnostics, have to force quit, and restart. This is happening very frequently. I do 3-6 hours of research a day and frequently clear my browsing history (sometimes as often as every 15 minutes). I've spoken to the provider (Comcast) and all seems fine on that front. I am at a loss and incredibly frustrated. Help. Please. Thank you!! (I searched support topics and discussions for nearly 30 minutes and found no relevant topics - however, I can't possibly be the only one having this problem.)I have been having the RSS feed problem too since the safari update, I didn't even know which name and password it was asking for, my gmail or Apple.. After trying several alternatives it went away and hasn't come back since. However, now gmail is not working very well at all, (since the safari update). Sometimes it will let me log into gmail and show me my inbox, sometimes it will even let me read one or 2 e-mails before hanging up, but it will not let me send any e-mails, yielding a box saying something like 'oops gmail have encountered a problem......blaa blaa #104' sometimes the number is different. I can only get into my inbox if i have just reset safari prior to loading the gmail log in page. It's very convoluted. I can't believe that there is no solution to this either. I thought there would have been many people with the same problem and fix procured instantly. Do we have to wait for another safari update to solve the problem?

Go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings. the connecto to iTunes and restore as a New phone. Do not restore any backup. If the problem persists you have a hardware problem. Take it to Apple for exchange.
This assumes that the phone is not hacked or jailbroken. If it is you will have to go elsewhere on the internet for help. -
I have a problem with my Iphone 4s since I did my first update at your Itunes, the bluetooth and the WiFi it is not workinhg anymore.

So here I am with no wifi and bluetooth, with apple technicians and experts that don't know what to do with the problem that the sofware they developed cause in my iphone 4s.
and the solution is for me to pay $199.00 US dollars for a problem that I did not cause.
