Rule table error in OPM 10.4

Hi,
I converted a rulebase from 10.3 (no errors) to 10.4. Conversion was successful. However, I received an error during compilation in a rule table, saying "Error: 0 is not a valid text for identifying attribute <attribute name>" and "Error: InstanceCount(the people) is not a valid text for identifying attribute <attribute name>". I checked the attribute editor and the properties file and found the attribute type to be 'Number' in both cases. Please tell me why this error occurs. The rule table is very important in the rulebase.
PS: Please give me a solution if possible.

Solution: change the identifying attribute of your entity to a text attribute.
The identifying attribute is used in substituting the entity text within decision reports, screen labels etc. In OPA v10.4, the identifying attribute is also used to identify inferred entity instances, which is why the validation is more strict - although the requirement for the identifying attribute to be a text attribute has always existed. Therefore ensure that the correct attribute is being assigned as the identifying attribute for your entities, and if necessary create an inferred text attribute that is equivalent to the number attribute you are currently using and make that the identifying attribute.

Business Rule error: Accounts are not available in the rule table

Hi everybody,
I have a problem running the Business Rule for the profit/loss copy to the equity account.
The Business Rule I set reads from all P&L accounts, P&L specific flow, acual category, all datasources and then it writes everything keeping the source settings apart from the account destination (the equity profit/loss account) and the flow destination (I write in two different flows, so the rule is made up of two equal lines differing only in the flow destination). "PROFIT" is the ID I chose.
Then I created the related script logic (ID=CALCACCOUNT):

Dear BPC gurus,
I experience the following error while trying to run a Business Rule (Account transformation). Setting are to change the flow dimension of an account and apply to YTD.
Script logic that is used is:

CURRENY CONVERSION RULES TABLE - FORMULA FIELD

Hi,
I have a list of rate types (avg,end,hist etc) defined in the Rate account dimension. The currency conversion (SPRUNConversion) procedure is running fine for all these rate types.
Now I have added two new ratetypes to the rate account dimension. I have added corresponding rate date for these accounts for all reporting currencies for the required category and time. I have then used these new rate accounts in the 'FORMULA' field of the Currency Conv Business Rule table. When I now run the SPRUNConversion procedure I get the following error
SPRunConversion Version 7.0.112
ERROR FX-310 Timeid=20090300 - Nothing Extract from Fact - RATE
When I go back to the Rate dimension and change the 'Ratetype' property for the new rates to blank (from 'FX') then I dont get any error with SPRunconversion however the accounts related to the new Ratetypes do not get processed.
I have tried everything (Full process of dimensions, Optimizing applications etc) but nothing seems to work.
Any idea why the CC table is not accepting the new rate accounts?

Hi Craig,
There is an inherent limitation in BPC 7 MS version in the number of characters of the combined total of rate id characters with rates that you can define in the rate application. In my case we are trying to maintain in 'GLOBAL' rate entity about 12 different rates (avg, end, historical etc) and the combined char total is around 750. When we run currency conversion all the rateids are put into a field, but the char limit of this field is 500 char, so the system gives out an error.
The currency conversion logic only considers those rate accounts with Group 'FXTYPE'. So when I remove this property for a few rate accounts, they were not considered and since the rateids char limt as mentioned above is within the 500 char limit the currency conversion was happening without error.
This has been reported to SAP and they confirmed that it is a bug and this will be addressed in the SP being relaeased end of this year.
We did a workaround by maintaining single alphabets for the rate ids i.e., AVG=A,END=B etc ... and used Rate entities to take care of the number of rates that we had.

Asset acquisition-Table error

While doing an Asset posting from MM Side, the following error is happening:
"No accounts have been entered for depreciation area 01 account allocation 31000 (Chart of accounts 1000)".
"Table Error"
I have assigned accounts in AO90 for the acquisition/depreciation accounts. Still I dont not understand why this error is happening ? Please give some helpful inputs.

I'm not sure what you did to create the rule you are running here. Did you try the Rules chapter of the 105 sample on the TP3 page? That one does work.
Once you have it working using the sample, try your exercise again and let us know what you did to create your rule. There are many permutations here and we want to know what doesn't work.

ANSWER: out of the box installation on an XP Dell laptop resulted in NO installation errors but a missing subdirectory - or the in-application updates removed subdirectories.
re-installing the complete application installed the missing subdirectories.
hopefully those with the same error now have something to check on with their application directory structure. there is at least one other who has this error on a Mac.

Another User Modified Table Error.

Dear All,
My Client is using SAP B1 2007 B PL 11, When he is updating the Freight Amount in the Freight Window at that time he is getting the Error of Another User Modified Table Error.
Plz guide me solving this issues.

This problem occurs when 2 users access the same form simultaneously .
So just restart the SAP , It will work ..

Derivation Rule Tables

My users have created some transparent tables using the derivation rules in the Grants Management module. I need to read these tables in a Z program. The issue is, when the rule is run in each client the table name is generated by the system and varies from client to client. Does anyone know of a way to get these table names dynamically either from a function module or another table?

Submit the concurrent program Synchronize WF LOCAL tables.
Log file shows error.

Solution Description
해당 error 는 per_all_people_f table 의 global_name 이 null 이기 때문에 발생하는 error 로 가장 간단하게는 아래와 같이 처리 하면 된다.
update per_all_people_f
set global_name = full_name
where global_name is null;
commit;
위의 작업 후 다시 Synchronize WF LOCAL tables process 를 수행 한다.
해당 issue 에 대한 원인은 note. 397219.1 - Why Are There NULL Values For global_name In 를 참조 하도록 한다.

I have successfully setup a WebDav directory. Inside the ruleAuthor, I connect to a repository file, selecting WebDav, inputted the url to the Webdav folder and user credentials, and successfully connected to the webdav directory.

I just faced the same problem you have. In my case it seemed to be associated to have extra content in the WebDav address (files). If you are having this problem try with an empty address.

I am trying to activate the update rules for the BI statistics cubes and am getting the below error.

I am able to install the cubes and info sources/data sources but not the update rules.
Our system is on below versions:
SAP_BW 701 0004 SAPKW70104
BI_CONT 703 0014 SAPKIBIIQ4

I think you're going to have to open an SAP Message for this issue. There is an OSS Note that perfectly matches the description of the error you're getting, but because you're on BI 7.0 EHP1, the change in that OSS Note is already made in the affected Class and Methods.

we are working on the BUSINESS RULE: CURRENCY CONVERSION TABLE.
here we have a easy three row table:
Account Rate Type: AVG; Formula: [AVG]
Account Rate Type: END; Formula: [END]
Line 3: Account Rate Type: TRANS: Destination Account: XYZ; >> Formula:[END]-[AVG]
this works fine and great!!!!! differences within accounts of AVG and accounts of END between AVG to END rate are being posted in Account XYZ.
here the is the requirement we trying to establish:
for Line 3: using the AVG (of ACTUALS) and the AVG (of BUDGET) ... so different VERSIONS of the SAME ACCOUNT_1. We like to have the same differences (but differen versions) posted to XYZ account.
what calculation do i put in the Formula field in the chart???
anybody done this? got an idea? -

Thanks Ethans that was good explanation. So, we stayed within the version and the calculation worked fine. However, now I am wondering about the following:
We take the [END]-[AVG] and we get the wanted result. let's say 1.5 - 1.3 = 0.2 ... So desitnation account will post 0.2. - Correct!
Now if i run Currency Conversion / FX Trans again. it again takes 1.5 - 1.3 = 0.2 and it adds this 0.2 to the already noted 0.2 in the account = 0.4 in total. Run CC again an addiotional difference of 0.2 to the already there 0.4 which equals 0.6 total; and so on. It is adding on top what has been posted, not continiously just showing the difference in accounts.
How do i modify that it is NOT adding, but everytime ONLY finding the difference?
