Run from itunes 7.0.X ! Stay with 6.0.5

Sorry folks - not a winner here. I run both Windows Xp pro and OS 10.3.9 and I have problems galore on both platforms. My biggest issue seems to be with my MP3 collection on a shared network drive. All previous itunes versions that I ran had no problems with network drives. If I run itunes while I'm not connected to the library (traveling with my laptop), then run it again at home when I am, it can no longer find the song location. What's even funnier is that it will ask me to find it, open up the directory where it thinks it is and it's right there where it's supposed to be on the network. Truly weird. 7.0.2 did not fix this.
Other problems:
- gapless playback feature renders my system useless because it ***** up my processor.
- Terribly slow updating my ipod
- I use to like watching downloaded tunes being unchecked when they were uploaded to my ipod. I haven't found a way to do that with the 7.0.X versions.
The result: Stick with 6.0.5 until they get to at least 7.1

I tried installing 6.0, but I got an error message afterwards that "it could not install 6.0 because a later version was already on the machine. Sorry."
What kind of BS is this? And I heard that Apple has good software? I'll never buy anything Apple again in my life. This is crap.

Where are you looking to download them from ? You might be able to redownload them via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes. If that album shows there but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading then that implies that it's still in your iTunes library

What happens when playing the same books in iTunes. Is there sound after 15 min?
If also silent in iTunes, check the info tab where you can see the item is an audiobook, etc. Check the volume bar, this normally is on the zero point.
When an audio book is really low in audio, I tend to move this to the plus side (+1=max), but for some strange reason this bar was at -1 in some books I had and they also seemed to play in absolute silence.

Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.

Video purchased from iTunes Music Store not compatible with my video iPod?

I purchased the White Stripes music video for "The Hardest Button to Button" from iTunes, but when I plug in my video iPod, it says it can't copy it over because it "can't be played" on my iPod. I don't understand what to do! All the other videos I've purchased from iTunes has copied/played fine...
Can someone please help me figure out what to do? Is it a bad video and I need to seek a replacement from Apple? I'm using iTunes 6.1, not the newest iPod updater (because of all the problems with it), video iPod, and Windows XP.

So I bought some Kim Possible episodes from iTunes and I am trying to put them on a DVD. I can't figure out how, because for one thing, even if I try to put the video in iMovie first, the video cant even be used...so any ideas from anyone? And I can't figure out how to play with the movies in iDVD either, but I have played around with music and photos though...

you have two options, to override that:
* using a "screen recorder" as SnapzPro

Receipts from Itunes for purchasing songs, etc. with a prepaid card?

I don't understand this at all. I had purchased a prepaid card for Itunes and put it under my account. Whenever I purchase something from Itunes, it deducts it from the card, yet I am getting a receipt everytime I purchase something. Apple is not taking it out of the credit card that was put in, along with the prepaid card, are they?

You get an invoice even if you purchase something with the prepaid card. It's the same as if you were to go to the grocery store with a gift card - you still get a receipt.

Streaming from iTunes to AirPort Express interrupted with good conectivity

I connect from my iMac to a radio in the kitchen via AirPort Express. The stream from iTunes is interrupted ever so often and the second speaker in AirPlay is dimmed. The connection to the AirPort Express remains excellent throughout. Restarting helps, but then it tends to happen again. Sometimes after an interruption it starts working again. I did not notice any specific timing or other activity on my iMac that could cause this.
Any ideas?

besides changing the radio channel used, also try this:
open system preferences
open network pane
select airport in the left list
click the advanced button
go to the TCP/IP tab
set the configure IPv6 field to OFF.
click OK
click apply
now try again to connect to your remote speakers.

Songs that I recently added to my iTunes (not purchased from iTunes store) will not sync with my iPod touch 4th generation. How can I fix this?

I typically download my music directly from youtube. I have never had any issue when it came to putting it on my ipod touch (4th generation). However, today, I downloaded a couple of songs, added them to my iTunes (11.1.4). When I hit "sync" it said at the top that it was "Synching iPod: Steps 1of 3." It went through these steps incredibly quickly, a matter of seconds really, and I went to check it they had synced. They had not. I tried this several times before uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. Even with the re-install, it does not work. I am wondering if it is because these songs were not downloaded directly from the iTunes store. i tried downloading a song from the iTunes store and it is currently in my iPod, so I know that it is able to sync music. I just started using this version of iTunes as I just installed it on the laptop I just bought (windows 8).

Was the iPod setup via iTunes on this computer?
Setup via wifi?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Music from iTunes on MAC not syncing with iPAD2.

I have had an IPAD2 for 18 months and have had no problem synchronising with iTunes until recently.
I'm not if the problem started when I moved from using a PC to a MacBook Pro Retina for iTunes, or when I did the last iOS upgrade on my IPAD.
Here's the issue...
I connect my iPAD to the Mac using the USB cable.
The iPAD is recognised in iTunes and I can select it.
All synchronisation automaticaly works fine (Photos, Apps, Other) except the Music.
I select the Music tab on iTunes and Sync Music is selected.
If I select "Entire music library" or "Selected playlists, artists...", then the blue bar in the Capacity diagram appears to indicate the volume of Music.
I select Apply. The sync process starts.
At the end of the sync process, which does not try to sync the Music, the blue Audio part of the Capacity bar dissapears and I have no Music on my iPAD.
Can anyone help?

OK - I maaged to work it for myself and it is embarrassingly simple....
When I moved from having iTunes on my PC to having it on my MacBook Pro I decided to keep the ITunes library on a network shared storage rather than on one machine.
What had happened is that the shared storage drive had been disconnected from the network. iTunes on my Mac was still listing all the Music and even calculated how much of my iPAD capacity the tracks that I wanted to synchronise would take. But when I tried to synchronise it couldn't find the tracks, so nothing was copied to the iPAD.
Of course it would have been useful for an error message to pop-up stating that the media couldn't be found, but there you go. With the network storage now connected all is working fine again.

Thank you to anyone who can help me with this. When I got my iPod touch a few months ago, I first imported music from CDs into iTunes. I then created playlists and hooked up my iPod and synched it. My music library and playlists no longer appear in iTunes. When I sync my iPod, the songs and playlists still remain on my iPod. Is there any way to get the songs and playlists to show in iTunes again?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.

Editing Tags in itunes - does tag info stay with file?

I have a question about editing tags in itunes, hopefully I can explain myself clearly enough here...
I have a very large music collection...almost 10,000 files now, and have spent alot of time editing the tags, renaming mispelled artists and song names etc...my question is, when that tag is edited, will all that tag info remain intact when I copy the actual mp3's to another computer? I want to back all the music up to my laptop, which is running same version of itunes, but I don't want to have to start over again with editing the tags. When I initially put the files on my computer the tags were really messed.

TS2818 I have purchased songs from iTunes and when I sync with my Ipad only some are imported....then it says contact Itunes as to why your songs are not being synced.

I have purchased many songs on Itunes and then I sync to my Ipad. Then it tells me so many songs cannot be synced. Why? I also attach my connection and it is now saying this iphone is not connected when it is an Ipad connected to my MacBook Air. I also think that when you have an account with Apple they should honour your email to all your music and not just your laptop as I now have to use my old laptop which is about to die so what happens then.

Were all songs purchased by the same iTunes account?
