Runtime error on Oracle Designer

Hello
I have Oracle Designer 10g installed on windows server 2003 sp2
its suddenly give me error when i try to run the Oracle Designer as follows :
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way .
Please contact the applications's support team for more information
regards

Did you check your exact version against the certification matrix? Designer is really a client tool, not a server tool. My guess is that there are not many versions certified against Windows Server 2003.

  • Error installing Oracle Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6 patch

    Hi.
I am trying to install Oracle Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6 patch. I've already installed Oracle 9i Forms and Reports 9.0.2.1.0 (patch 2705870) and 9.0.2.3.0 (patch 3129219). The Oracle Installer version is 2.2.0.18.0, but when I try to install Designer/SCM Release 9.0.2.6.0, which uses Oracle Installer version is 2.3.0.0.0, I get the following error in my hs_err log file:

What exactly do you want to do with Designer? You need to install the Designer repository in a Oracle database before you can use Designer.
I suggest that you read the Repository Installation Guide (installed with the product or on OTN) and then go through the Designer Tutorial on OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/9i_collateral.htm#tut) to understand some Designer concepts.

  • C++ Runtime error using LiveCycle Designer

I have been using Adobe Pro 9 for some time, my system is running XP Professional and Service Pack 3. Each time I edit a form which I am adding tables to the form crashes with the runtime error.  We had a system upgrade for some unrelated software on the weekend and everything worked fine up to that point.
I continue to save each time I add a section in the table, I have edited the form 5 times now with the same result. The file ends up being corrupt with 0bytes.
Can anyone offer advice on this.
    Christine..

    Hi Christine,
This is a typical problem in LiveCycle Designer ES (8.2). I have faced this issue several times. Though I do not know the actual reason for this. There are many things responsible for this behaviour.
    - Is the form opened for several hours in LiveCycle Designer?
    - Have you made repeated copy paste operation of the fields as well as of the Javascript?
    - Have you saved the form repeatedly for small changes without doing the "Save As" operation?
    - Have you long lines of JavaScript?
    Few Suggestions might Help...
    - Do not open the LiveCycle Designer for longer duration like more than 4 hours. Save changes. Close it and reopen it.
    - Instead of doing the "save" operation do the "Save As" operation. It will also help in reducing the size of the form.
    - Avoid Copy pasting of the fields or JavaScript always. While you do it, if you see the XMl Source you will some designer id would be added exponentially.
    - Use events intelligently.
    Thanks,
    Bibhu.

  • Sqlj runtime error with oracle 10G in Websphere6 or 5.1

We are trying to migrate from oracle 9i to 10G and we are compiled all our sqlj code with codegen = -oracle option.(previously we used to use codegen=-jdbc which for some reason doesnot work).it compiles fine with out any erros.. But when we try to run then get this exception.
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: SQLJ programs translated with the option -codegen=oracle must be run under Oracle JDBC 9.0.0 or higher. If the Oracle JDBC driver is wrapped, then the wrapper must implement all of the oracle.jdbc.OracleXxxx interfaces. Alternatively, you can translate SQLJ programs either with -codegen=iso. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: SQLJ programs translated with the option -codegen=oracle must be run under Oracle JDBC 9.0.0 or higher. at sqlj.runtime.ExecutionContext$OracleContext.prepareOracleStatement(ExecutionContext.java:1397)
We are using ojdbc14.jar that came with oracle 10G.
Hope any one can give any pointers.

I'm having same issue - but I'm having it when I try to invoke a method that contains a database Object type from a Tibco Business Works Process called a Java Method.
How exactly do you do the codegen=iso configuration?
    I've tried:
    1. Project Properties / Compiler SQLJ and then select from Code Generation drop down iso.
    2. From Connections / Database / Navigate to package / right-click / Generate Java / Browse to my custom jpub.properties file where I have tried multiple entries such as (by themselves and in some combination.:
    - jpub.codegen=jdbc
    - jpub.codegen=iso
    - jpub.compatible=9i
    - jpub.compatible=8i
    - compatible=both8i
    - jpub.usertypes=oracle
    - jpub.compatible=customdatum
    - jpub.compatible=sqlj
I've also played with changing from the default some of the Mapping Options in Connections / Database / Navigate to package / right-click / Generate Java / Mapping Options.
This doc here, says that code should change (section 6 JPublisher Input Files - based on configuration of Input files)
    Oracle® Database
    JPublisher User's Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.2)
    B14188-01
No matter what I do, the code that gets generate is the same.
Also, the documentation talks about running things from the command line but how exactly do you do that? Do I need to be in specific directory? I tried the c:\ C:\jdev\system and c\jdev\ and c:jdev\bin and always get error message: 'jpub' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
I've built a java client in JDeveloper to successfully call the same method and I don't see the error.

  • Java iView Runtime Error in BEx Designer

Through analyzer, Query is working absolutely fine
When trying to run a query via the query designer I get the two messages :

    Thanking you,
    Tarun Brijwani.

    Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
From your reply, I have some doubts.
You mentioned that you reduced the no of info objects in the rows in query definition and the problem got solved.
1.Did you check that for the some queries which were already containing less no.of rows, it did not show this error.
2.And you were getting this this error only in the those particular queries which were containing more no.of rows?
3.Have you again tried by placing more no.of info objects in rows after you solved the error?
Please reply even if you didn't try all these things coz it will be very helpfull for us in further investigation.
    Thanking You,
    Tarun Brijwani.

  • B2 Error:   B2B-50029:  B2B runtime error

    Hi there,
I'm pretty new to the Oracle B2B world and I'm having problems making a simple sample that receives, changes some parameters in the message (using BPEL) and forwards the changed message to a designated endpoint.
The message is received successfully in B2B and sent to BPEL. There I'm changing the MSH.3 and MSH.5 (source and destination of the message) and I'm sending it back to B2B.
I've also tried to change the internal properties of the message that refer to the destination/origin of the message and removing all the internal properties but with the same result.
My problem is that when I send the message back from BPEL to the B2B engine the message gives the following error and I'm unable to understand what can be happening.
The logging information that I was able to get my hands on is the following:

    Hi there,
I didn't change the MSH.4 and MSH.6 because they are the same... I'm trying to create an example of exchange of messages between 2 applications in the same facility with a Middleware Structure in the middle.
I can't find anymore information about the error... What I've inserted in the last post was the information of the log file (soa_server1-diagnostic.log)... Don't know anywhere else to look for more information... Is there other place?
The message that I'm trying to send, after the BPEL process, is the following:

  • New runtime error JBO-27014 appears by upgrating JDv 9.0.2.289 to 9.0.3.1035

Without changing the application source, after the upgrade from Upgrade from JDeveloper 9.0.2.289 to 9.0.3.1035 we are receiving the runtime error code:
oracle.jbo.AttrValException: JBO-27014: Attribute AtyId in Appointmenttypes is required

The AtyId is defined as surrogate key. sequence number
It is strange. This field is a defined DBSequence number and should be automaticaly incremented each new record.
At the "old" version it was working and with the upgrade, not more.
Should one new parameter be defined to have it running again?
    Thanks

A bug 2535331 was reported for this issue:
The bug was in 902 that BC4J did not enforce null checks for domains properly. In 903 it does and that leads to validation failure in DBSequence case as in this case, the DB value for the domain is null as database generates the right value for new entities. To fix that when you open/close the Entity-editor it re-establishes the domain settings on the attribute leading it to be non-mandatory.
In JDev 903, Entity editor should not allow DBSequence domains to be "checked" as "Mandatory"
A known workaround is to visit all such entities that have DBSequence attribute marked as mandatory and open/finish editor so that attribute properties for the DBsequence attribute is regenerated and the wizard takes off the mandatory setting.
You may say that the migration/upgrade process should have 'fixed' this and we missed that boat on this issue.

  • B2B-50029:  B2B runtime error

    Hello All,
In Order to better understand the channal concept in 11g , I tried creating a simple OutBound case wherein a file will be picked up from c:\temp2 folder and will be written to c:\temp1 folder.
    1. Created One Generic File 1.0 Listening Channal and selected 'Internal' checkbox. Folder name = c:\temp2
    2. Defined Custom--->1.0---->PurchaseOrder----->PurchaseOrderDef
And in the PurchaseOrder (Document Type) tab, in the ebMS Section, I have filled the following values...
    Action Name : PurchaseOrder
    Service Name : PurchaseOrder
    From Role : OracleServices
    To Role: MarketInc
And in the definition tab, i have given the following values...
    xsd : po.xsd
    Identification xpath expression : /*[local-name()='PurchaseOrder']
    3. For Trading Partner 'MarketInc' i have created a channel with Generic File 1.0 protocol. Folder name= c:\temp1
    4. Created an agreement for MarketInc, selected the File channel for MarketInc , selected the document definition and deployed the code. Sender is OracleServices and Receiver is MarketInc.
When I kept a file OracleServices_1234.txt in c:\temp2, it is getting picked up but B2B report is not showing anything, neither this file has been written to c:\temp1. I also could not see any message in IP_OUT_QUEUE. I also tried with MarketInc_1234.txt withot luck.
In 'Application Messgae' TAB of report section , I see record with Direction 'OUTBOUND' and State as 'MSG_COMPLETE'.
I am seeign below error message in command prompt

I also could not see any message in IP_OUT_QUEUE. I also tried with MarketInc_1234.txt withot luck.Filename is incorrect. By default Oracle B2B expects, filename in below format for outbound case -
    <RemoteTPname>_<DocType>_<DocTypeRevision>_<MsgType>_<MsgID>.<AnyFileExtn>
So in your case, filename should be -
    MarketInc_PurchaseOrder_1.0_1_12345.xml

  • RunTime Error and Xml Source

    Hi,
When I try to view the xml source of my form, I have a runtime error c++ and Designer crashes. It doesn't happen on all my forms. Has my form to many scripts or objects ? Or Is my development environment not appropriate to work correctly ?
I develop with Windows XP 2GO ram, Livecycle ES JBOSS Turnkey installation.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hello Paul,
Thank you for your help, but the project that I'm working on I'm unable to send to you the PDF file, for security policies reason.
The form has 11 pages and trying to solve the problem I deleted 10 pages. So now I can see the XML Source but I found a weird thing:
in a Decimal Field, I found up to 65.000 occurrences of
instead of just one. What is it mean?
Is there another way to see the XML source?

  • Java runtime error while  executing install.sh - installing Oracle Clinical 4i

    Hello DBA's
    1. I am trying to install an Oracle App on a SUN SPARC 20 with 256 MB / 9.1
    GB. (solaris 8)
    2. I installed Oracle 8i EE completely and created the DB using Oracle
Universal Installer. So the Java components and runtime were also installed
I presume. I have it in /usr/java1.2 with links made during install.
    3. Did post installation according to the manual.
    4. Did pre-installation for install of Oracle Clinical application.
    5. Put the OC CD into the drive and typed install.sh as requested.
Error: The Java Runtime environment was not found at
    .. /../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8.10/1/Datafiles/Expanded/solaris/bin/
jre Hence the universal installer cannot be run.
I am struggling for 2 months now and I am hoping that some guru will wipe
out the frustration and anxiety that has made my hair grey. I have also
included the contents of the oraparam.ini for Oracle 8i and Oracle CLinical.
They look almost the same but for some reason, the Oracle Universal
installer does not seem to work for the Oracle Clinical installation.
What could be the reason for this Jav runtime Error. I check the web and
other sites, but no conceivable answer. I have no access to Metalink. What
do I have to do to make the universal installer work.
Your help is really really appreciated.

I have installed Oracle 8.1.6 Rel 2 on the SUN Sparc. Everything is fine and a customised DB has been created. Now I
have to install an Oracle application on the same server. I have a working knowledge of Unix but I don't know scripting.
I logged in as OPAPPS as required. (.chsrc). I have set the path with all possible directories and made it a member of
    group DBA as requested.
I put the CD in the CDROM and then cd /cdrom
    # install.sh
BUT I get this message: install.sh not found.
install.sh is there on the CD. This is the contents of install.sh from the CD

Would anybody know why I get install.sh NOT found when it is there?. This executabel is on the CD. I am not sure why it gives
a java runtime error message when it is OK. Remember, I have already installed Oracle 8i using the same environment with the existing java runtime .
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
I am installing Oracle clinical 4.5.x.
I need to know whether both the Database server and application server for Oracle Clinical can be installed on same server(windows 2000 server).
Both of them are installed on windows platform.
It seems that u have tried the single node installation.
So,please give all the possible details regarding the single node installation for oracle clinical no matter what platform it is.
Please reply me as soon as possible, its urgent.
    Thanking u in advance.

  • B2B-50029:  B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

    Dear All,
    I am a beginner to Oracle B2B.
I have created an agreement to Recieve 852, Product Activity data(POS) from one of the Trading partner. This is an inbound process.
A  SOA composite application is created to Recieve the data and insert into perticular columns of the database table using database adapter.
I have tested the Interface with some couple of file and it went perfect without any error. Now I have to test the interface with some other files.
This time also I am not getting any error in Business Message, Wire message and Application message but the composite application is not picked.
The log file shows : B2B-50029: B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParserException: Start of root element expected.
Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue. it will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Abhas Kushwaha

    Hello,
Just a thought, When I had the similar problem, it appeared to be a BOM (Byte order mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in the xml file, which is the very first character in the xml file, so the file was not identified to be a valid xml file. Removing the BOM from the xml file fixed my problem, however, I did not spend much time in fixing using B2B, the vendor  (sender of the file) fixed the file and started sending without BOM. So my work was easier.
The character is not visible in all XML editors, however, it was visible in JDeveloper. I used a tool to identify and remove during testing until the vendor fixed the file, the tool is called file bom detector,http://www.bryntyounce.com/filebomdetector.htm
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    Venkatesh

  • CDS-11025 Error: Oracle Designer generation error with PL/SQL package

    Hi friends,
We tried to generate a database package from Oracle Designer (10.1.2.6) and getting "syntax errors" but the package has no syntax errors when we copy and paste the code and compile in TOAD (10.6)
    Error from Designer:
    Server Generator 10.1.2.6 (Build 10.1.2.11.12) , Wed Oct 17 10:58:43 2012

    AND AvpValve.VLV_INTL_ID = rec_update_dist.VLV_INTL_ID;
    END LOOP;
    Thanks for any feedback,
    Jim

    Found the problem.
It was an issue with the CURSOR with the SELECT ... FROM (SELECT CASE WHEN THEN ELSE END). After swithing to the DECODE statement, Designer is able to generate the package.
    CASE
    WHEN ISOLATION_IND = 'Y' THEN
    'A'
    WHEN OPERATED_IND = 'Y' THEN
    'B'
    ELSE
    'C'
    END
    decode(ISOLATION_IND,'Y','A',decode(OPERATED_IND,'Y','B','C'))
However, still strange to me that Designer doesn't like the CASE as part of SELECT.

  • Query Designer, Execute fails with missing iView (Portal Runtime Error)

    Hi,
I have followed all steps to integrate Sap NetWeaver 2004s BI into EP. Checks done so far indicate that all is well between the EP and BI.  From within the EP, I can execute the Bex Web Analyser iView and from there I can execute a query on the BI backend.  From the BI backend, executing the function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST returns the 'BI test service' success message.  SSO is working fine as no user/passwords were prompted for. From the trace file, I can see no errors appear but I do see authentication success messages.  So far, so good
But, when I execute a query from within the Query Designer, it calls the browser and then errors with the following error:
    <b><i>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.
    Exception id: 10:06_03/03/06_0012_26285450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</i></b>
Looking at the trace file, all it tells me is the same, that this iView is not found.
If I logon to the portal and have a look at the iViews within the 'platform-add-ons/bi' folder, I can see the following 4 iViews:
    BEx Broadcaster (com.sap.ip.bi.bexbroadcaster)
    BEx Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.bexportfolio)
    BEx Web Analyser (com.sap.ip.bi.bexwebanalyzer)
    My Portfolio (com.sap.ip.bi.myportfolio)
I cannot find the missing iView (com.sap.ip.bi.bex).
    Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ashish,
Thanks for the suggestions.  Here is what happened:
    1. I have run the deploy and change template again (BIPostInstall).  Step 10 failed but I am not too concerned as it does appear that SSO is working both directions.  Also, step 13 failed which is the 'Configure Repository Manager'.  The error I got here was USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "" not found.  I am not sure where it is getting the blank userid from.
    2. The 'com.sap.ip.bi.business_explorer_showcase' role suggestion looked very promising.   I found some doco on it and it does mention this role and when assigned, then you see the Business Explorer tab.  I assigned it to all users and to all groups.  When I went back into the portal, sure enough, the Business Explorer tab was visible.  From within there, I could run query which all worked fine.
BUT, when executing a query from within the BEx Query Designer, I still got the same error:
    <i><b>Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
    iView not found: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex.
    Exception id: 11:25_05/03/06_0003_26285450
See the details for the exception ID in the log file</b></i>
Do you know if this is an actual iView that should exist in the portal content ?  If you have this working, can you see this iView in the portal?
    3. I had a look at this note (872043) but I could not get the sap download manager to work to get the zip files attached to the note download.  If you have it still, could you email it to me ([email protected]) and I will try that. Did you apply the zip file?
I can't find any further trace information on why this missing iView error is happening.  I've amended the severity level on the areas which a SAP note detailed but the only information I get is that a missing iView was called.
Function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST still works fine and I can execute a query from the Web BEx Analyser iView.
I just can't execute a query from the BEx query designer due to the missing iView.
I don't know whether it is a communication problem even though SSO both directions seem to work OR whether I do have some content missing from my portal.
    Regards
