Safari asking for UAC every time with Windows 7

Hi,
I have been using Safari for two years, never had any issue until yesterday, no updates or changes were made to the PC recently. The problem is Safari is asking for UAC every time I open it, Aero also gets disabled at times, I'm having exact issue posted in the following thread:- http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12485852&#12485852
See this:- http://i52.tinypic.com/jjqis2.png
Safari never used to ask for UAC or disabled Aero before, I've run a full scan with my anti-virus, there is no sign of virus/spyware/malware etc.
My PC has current drivers from the manufacturer with all Windows Update applied, I'm also using most recent version of Safari. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Safari to no avail. Any help to pointer to solve this (other than disabling UAC) would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

... it's a strange one ...
The one thing I can think of that I know can produce the symptoms is if (somehow) the "Run as administrator" checkbox has been checked in the Compatibility tab of the preferences for your Safari.exe. (Sometimes they get ticked without user intervention, for no apparent reason.) So we'd better check on that, just in case.
Quit Safari first.
In Computer, open Local Disk C.
If you've got a 32-bit Windows, open the "Program Files" folder.
If you've got a 64-bit Windows, open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
Open the Safari folder.
Right-click on your safari.exe and select "Properties"
Go to the Compatibility tab and make sure *no boxes whatsoever* are checked in the tab. (Just in case.)
Click OK.
Does Safari launch without the error now?

It's been a while since I've had to do this, but at some point in that process, is there a checkbox to save your password in the keychain? If so, make sure you check this box before you continue.
Edit: Try this: Go to System Preferences > Network, click on Airport in the left pane and click the Advanced button. Click on the Airport tab at the top and look for your Airport network name in the list of preferred networks. Click on it to highlight it and click the Edit button below that list. Does it already have your Airport password entered? If not, enter it there and check the "Remember this network" checkbox.

What you're seeing isn't normal. That is, Firefox on the Mac will normally allow you to open multiple windows, multiple tabs, whatever you want.
What happens why you try to open a new window in Firefox via File > New Window or Command-N? Is there an error message? Or is it that Firefox won't open links in new windows (or tabs)?

Why does Safari ask me this every time I open my Macbook?  "NONE OF YOUR PREFERRED NETWORKS ARE AVAILABLE.  CHOOSE THE WI-FI NETWORK YOU WANT TO JOIN FROM THE LIST BELOW. "

Open System Preferences > Netwwork then click Advanced then select the Wi-Fi tab.
Under Preferred Networks, if you see more than one network name listed, click and drag yours to the top then click OK.
    Quit and relaunch Safari.

  • Photoshop ask for registration every time I launch and won't except user name and password even when signed in

I have tried for two weeks with adobe chat and have got nowhere. Every time I try to launch photoshop it asks to register the software, I pay monthly via CC but every time I enter my details it thanks me and says "enjoy the software" tries to launch and then starts the process again. I have disabled firewall but it still will not launch.
    Anyone had similar problems?

You don't mention the OS you have, if it's windows right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator" you should get the message again and then it should go away

  • Why does firefox keep asking for permission every time it starts, it never has before?

I'm using Windows 7 and recently used CCleaner to clean my registry and now Firefox asks for permission to make changes to my computer every time it starts. I have checked for viruses and malware, tried running Firefox as the administrator, removed all but one of my add-ons but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.<br />
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".<br />
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.<br />
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.<br />
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.<br />

  • Airport utility asks for password every time?

I have to enter my password every time I use the Airport utility. I enter it and exit the app and as soon as I click on it again I have tomre-enter the password again!
I tried to reset the AirPort Extreme and iPad. It works fine with all my iPhone and Mac. I tried to delete the app and reinstall it. No joy!

Try the following on your MacBook Pro, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
    1. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
    2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
    Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

  • ModemManager asks for password every time.

Suddenly every time after startup and login ModemManager ask for my user password, and I'm first on the web when I have type it in..
Anyone know why, and how to avoid it/do it automatically.?
    Screenshot: http://db.tt/MqkFsjY4

Even though I had a very similar Problem, I had it with ModemManager in connection with NetworkManager on Debian. I found this thread (as so often you find good answers in the arch forums that help for many other distributions ) but the Problem presented differently (and much much more recent - this weekend in fact)
The Pin Dialog would pop up every restart of NetworkManager, saving or applying the Pin would be rejected with an error that the system policy forbids "org.freedesktop.ModemManager1.Device.Control" and nothing else than aborting ended the dialog. Controlling WLAN was not possible anymore either.
I then found out that though NetworkManager could not find a systemd-session for the current user (by stracing NetworkManager - not very accurate). I guess there was a problem running logind properly from X or something like that, since the system was running SysV-Init with logind. Switching to systemd as a startup manager helped but I didn't find out what broke in the first place.
I hope this helps people finding this thread somehow.

  • Keychain Asks for Password Every Time I Log In

I just got a new MacBook Pro. Every time I log into my account, the keychain asks for my password. My old Mac didn't do this, and I cannot figure out how to have it remember me/not ask every time.

There should be a check mark on that window from keychain that says remember password.

  • Wireless asks for password every time on Lion

First time Mac user with Brand new Macbook Air with Lion.
First thing I do after taking it out of the box is to connect it to my work wireless.  It is checked off to remember the password.  Everytime I close the lid and open it ask for they password again...
There are no updates available.  None of the suggestions from googling and the apple forums help.
Have deleted everything including all remebered networks, keychain passwords, certificates and recreated new locations and it still asks for a password every time.  Started from scratch countless times with still no luck.  Half a dozen Mac cetrans and IT experts have looked at this in person and are stumped.  So much for "it just works".  It just doesn't work!  Very Annoying

Suggest that you try a post over in the Lion support area.
We primarily handle questions about the AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule in this support area.

  • Native Cisco VPN - Works but asks for password every time

After installing Snow Leopard, I found that my Cisco Application didnt work anymore. No worries, there is a native app now.
I made a new connection with the native app, and it works.
    Except.
Every time I go to connect, it prompts me for my password. Even if I've already entered it in the network settings panel. That's rather annoying, as I would prefer it remember the password for me.

not a problem here is a solution just follow the instructions from this link and you should be able to save your password in your keychain, i have tried and it works great. incase you dont find the keyAux thing just use the search bar at the top of the keychain access window and you should find it

  • Office 2013 continues to ask for reactivation every time

    Hello:
Every time we open office 2013 using Azure, it asks me to reactivate it. Are there any solution for this.
    TEK

    Hi Brian123456,
Installing and using Office Programs on Azure VMs are not allowed because they are Technically Client Applications.
Below in Quotes is an Exerpt from the MSDN Licensing White Paper (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13350) under the Subtitle "MSDN Cloud Use Rights:
Running the MSDN Software on Microsoft Azure VMs and VMs on Shared Servers Run by 3rd Parties"
"Example 3: A developer who is licensed for Visual Studio Premium with MSDN has deployed Visual Studio and SQL Server in a VM running on Azure in order to develop new stored procedures for a database application. Using Visual Studio in this Azure VM to write
code is allowed as part of MSDN cloud use rights. The developer could access this VM without needing to purchase a RDS CAL. The developer would also like to install Office in the VM to access his emails and Lync to communicate with other developers. Using
Outlook to access emails or using Lync to communicate with other users in the VM is not allowed because this is not within the MSDN use rights to design, develop, test or demonstrate software."
I hope this answers your Question, If you have any doubts please let us know.

Our company's https Intranet site worked OK with FF 22. With v23 a small drop down box keeps appearing every time we go to a different page on the site. It asks for permission to load the page. With constant use this is extremely irritating. There is no option to allow the site. What's the fix or should I go back to IE which had its own set of stupid questions.

hello, for details on why this blocking mechanism was introduced in firefox please refer to [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]].
if you'd like to generally turn of mixed content blocking nevertheless, enter '''about:config''' into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''security.mixed_content.block_active_content'''. double-click it and change its value to '''false'''.

  • OS X Mail. Asks for password every time...

Mail app, asks for an account password everytime I relaunch it, restart or reconnect to the internet. Only asks the password for whatever account is the bottom one in preferences. If i go to preferences and check the account info the password field is just blank, I reenter and no luck, it cleans it again if I disconnect, restart or relaunch the app. I had to go as far as to register a new mail acc and place it at the bottom in preferences and just cancel every time the password prompt pops up. Its really annoing.

Launch Keychain Access, Keychain First Aid, and repair your login.keychain, repair permissions, restart, and see if that fixes things.

  • IPad popup Wifi panel asks for password every time...

I have an iPad 2. Seems to be an issue with iOS 5.  I have a dev account but don't recall encountering this issue in previous betas.
I use tethering a lot, but i have to restart the tether often because it doesn't stay discoverable. If i restart the hotspot on my phone and im not in the settings app on the iPad, i get the standard popup "Select a wifi network" box.  If i select my tether, or even wifi router in this popup panel, it demands i put in my password or it won't connect.  If i cancel that and go to the Settings app, I can click network, see the same access point, and select it without having to re-enter my password. If i disconnect and retry the event, the popup box comes up, and once again, demands i put in the password i've entered in this box around 30 times already.  If i cancel it and go back to settings, it connects without having to put a password in.
Frustrating bug. Is there anyone else having this issue? I mean, i know i can always go back into settings to get it to recoonect, but should I have to when that panel is there for a reason?  I've tried resetting my network settings, restoring my iPad, all sorts of stuff but it still seems to occur.   Any assistance or even verification of this bug would be cool.
    Thanks,
    - BJ

Look under settings and restrictions and see how the password is set to appear. I think the default is that you only have to log in every 15 minutes, but it can also be set to require it every time.
