Safari can't open specifics web sites

i'm having troubles to re-open some web sites visited earlier.
I'm on a macbook pro with leopard and safari 5.0.1, all updates installed
Example: www.tgcom.it
The first time opened without any problem, the second time can't open again.
after typing the address and hit the return key, safari display immediately (without even trying to load the page) the white page with the alert:
Safari can't connect to the server.
Safari can't open the page “http://www.tgcom.it/” because safari can't connect to the server “www.tgcom.it”.
I've try already to reset Safari and clean the cache. No changes.
On the same network I have an iMac, which is loading this page anytime without any problem.
As well a windows PC is on the same home network, the page can be loaded too.
Only on this macbook pro i'm experiencing this issue.
I don't know what to think more..... the problem can't be the web-site (it works with other machines)
Other web sites on the macbook are working properly, only three address seams to be blocked from this machine only....

I suspect it has something to do with your ISP.
Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results:
If you are using a single computer: Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

I have actualised the safari to 5.0.5 (for Leopard) and still cant open any web site.
I use leopard Mac OS X 10.5.8
Without opening safari my xmarks for safari ask to download an actualisation but it cant go to the web page.
With Firefox or Chrome I dont have any trouble.

Haveing problems with Safari. It gives me an error message. Safari can't open the web page, because it can't establish a secure connection to the server. It only seams to have a problem on https sites. Any help would be apreciated.

The "s" in "https" indicates the site is a secure server--usually a site that will require a password. Connections to secure servers can be blocked by parental controls. Are you using any parental controls, either through OSX's settings (in System Preferences) or third party parental control software (such as Netnanny)? If so, check the settings to make sure they will allow the connection.

I have a problem with my Mac Mini: From Yesterday Safari doesn' t open many web sites. I tried to cancel cache and chronology, but without success.
I tried to download another browser, but It I can' t.

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Exensions tab.
If there are any installed, switch the button to off, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If there is more than one extension insalled, uninstall one a time, quit and relaunch Safari and test.

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

Safari doesn't open certain web sites

I'm a web designer working on a new site. My clients say that their Mac which is running Safari 5.1.5 won't open their web site which is: http://www.adventuress.us
I've asked about 5 other people to see if they could open it up on a mac using Safari. So far, everyone can open it except for my client.
Can you help me troubleshoot this? The site is created with wordpress. It's not redirecting.
I'm really not sure which Mac they have or their operating system. I just chose two so that I could submit this ticket.
What in the world would stop them from being able to see the site? They can go to other sites.

Ask if they have anti virus software installed ..
It would help to know for sure which Mac OS X they have installed. Click the Apple menu icon top left corner of the screen. From the drop down menu click: About This Mac.
I'm running Lion v10.7.3 with Safari 5.1.5 on one Mac without any problems loading that site. Same with another Mac running Snow Leopard v10.6.8.
I am using OpenDNS which may help your client and is suggested by Apple > Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, blocks the flashback trojan, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
208.67.222.222
Click +
208.67.220.220
Then click OK.
Quit then relaunch Safari. Try that site.

I tried to open bank web site but it gave me this massage
''Safari can’t open the page “http://www.sabb.com/” because the server where this page is located isn’t responding'' .
I was able to open this site before, I can't remember what I have change.
I change Safari Security to accept cookies always and firewall to allow all incoming connection but no use........ Any suggestion????

Internet explore can not open some web site!!

Internet explore cannot open some web site including yahoo game.
whenever opening it, it says that i need to download java virtual machine
and it leads me to Microsoft to download MS virtual machine
but after intalling it, the problem does not disappear.
Some people suggest that using opera, but it is not working, either!!
What is the problem? Does anyone know the solution?

do have applets in homepage,probabily you are able to download the applet but that cannot be
executed due to lack of environment(JVM).Although the Explored does have the inbuilt JVM but
I believe in the latest versions they are not providing.
i hope yours is not that case.The other alternative can be explorer getting corrupt or change
in the setting(which I believe you must not have changed)
See if the application comes on different machines explorer.

Anyone notice that Safari 3.1 can't open TurboTax Web site?

I just updated to Safari 3.1 (4525.13) this morning via Software Update and now cannot access TurboTax Web site http://turbotax.intuit.com/. Each time I try, there is no response other than an entry in the Downloads window stating "0 of ? bytes - bad server response". Firefox opens the page without incident.
Not a shrewd move on Apple's part; breaking Safari for Web TurboTax users during high tax season!

Yup, today it's working! Must have been sun spots or something. Sorry for the false alarm. I guess I jumped to a premature conclusion by associating the recent update to Safari with the problem. However, that being said, I did Restart and try a few times before I posted my question.
All's well that ends well I guess.

Flash itself is not supported on any iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) which is why you can't download it (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/)
Depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

Sometimes, but rarely, developers use ActiveX, which only works with Internet Explorer. The Real Estate Site referenced by the other poster is one example. However, some developers only test a site using certain browsers, and then lock out all other browsers even if they would otherwise work. One way to test to see if developers are just locking out certain browsers as opposed to using Active X, is to tell Safari to identify itself to websites as Explorer. To do that go to the Debug Menu, select user agent, and then select MSIE 6.
Another thing to check is to see if you have the block pop ups feature enabled in Safari. Some sites do not work properly with that feature enabled. I would test the Site for you, but I do not have an account there.

Can't open secure web site

Safari public bets 3 returns an error to the effect that a secure connection could not be established. I've been led to believe this might be because the browser doesn't support 128-bit encryption. Can anybody tell me if this is true? Apple's site is no help.

I too get the yellow box on ebay that i should upgrade my browser to "use ebay more efficently", but that can be ignored, everything works fine.

Safari can't find any web sites on hotel wifi?

I have connected to the wifi service at the hotel I'm staying at but the only site I can get is google. If I type an address into the browser it says my computer isn't connected to the Internet, even though internet connect says I'm connected.
It did this at the last hotel I stayed at. Both my iPod touch and my wife's Archos can connect fine.
Is it likely to be a setting that needs changing on my Macbook?

you should get output similar to below, otherwise dhcp has not assigned your network settings (or you are not setup for dhcp).

Go into system preferences --> Network
Click on TCP/IP
Check if it is set for DHCP
You could also try to renew the DHCP lease to have an IP addr / Gateway / DNS reassigned.
