Safari doesn't work with some websites

When i went on Comcast.net from my iPod Touch, it said that this website doesn't support your current browser, please use one of the listed browser. one of which was Safari! and i was using Safari! How do i get it to work?

This is a Comcast issue, they appear to have designed the website to only work with Safari for computers and not for Safari on the iPhone.
Basically the Comcast website will be looking for the browser type when you go to the site and it is not recognising the iPhone Safari browser as a valid browser they support.
Nothing you can do about it other than contacting Comcast to tell them, or you can select the link lover on the Comcast page that says " I don't want to upgrade- take me to Comcast.net"

Allthough Safari works fine with most websites, I recently discovered that with a few it does not work properly.
With one: http://prive.eneco.nl/ the webside does not recognise my user IDE
With the other:http://prive.eneco.nl/ it does not load the page after a selection is made
In both cases Mozilla works fine.
Is there any body who could advise a solution?

4. Visit http://my-site.com/scripts/form_check.php in a web browser and make sure you see all green checkmarks. If some items do not display green checkmarks that means that the hosting server is not configured correctly to allow the Form widgets to send email messages to the address you've specified.
Contact your web-hosting provider about the server configuration problem. Describe the items that are not marked as green in the form check page, so that they can help you set up the servers to use the correct settings.

What is the "From" email address in your form?
Also, have you checked the spam folder?

Back Button Doesn't Work on Some Websites

How come my Back Button Doesn't Work on Some Websites? It just keeps redisplaying the same page over and over. Example:

Back button behaviour can be pretty wierd. I usually use the keyboard combination, but for some reason it doesn't work on PDF's and I have to end up using the graphical back button.
There are some websites out there that for some reason or another break the Back button's behaviour. Sometimes I have to hold down the mouse button to get the back button menu in order to work around that problem.
In another case there was this page in Amazon that wouldn't allow me to go back to. Everytime I went to that page the browser to automatically kick me to the next page. I had to disable javascript to work around that problem.

Updated to Flash 10 for OSX10.4 but it doesn't work on some websites

I'm using Firefox but it happens in Safari as well. Some websites are OK. But others with flash appear blank or on myspace the music says i need to update my flash player. I have the newest flash player. I went to the check if flash installed correctly and i see the animation and all is fine. But some websites with flash don't seem to work.
Is there an easy fix somehow? Why do some work and others left blank?

there must be a solution. come on guys... i uninstalled using the adobe uninstaller and reinstalled but still no good. works for some websites, doesn't work for others

Javscript doesn't work on some websites with FireFox 8

When I login to some site, like my online banking site (https://www.txn.banking.pcfinancial.ca), some JavaScript links do not work in FF8 (but they work in FF7 and IE7/8). Most annoyingly, the Logout link doesn't work, so I can't safely logout from my banking site. I contacted the bank, but they say that because it works in other browsers, it must be a problem with FF8, and I tend to agree.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Flash player doesn't work on some websites

Hi,
For some reason, video stays black on some websites, some other websites like youtube work. I applied the permissions fix that I found which worked at first but now the problem is back and this fix doesn't work anymore.
I tried everything from fresh install to using older version, nothing works.
I don't know what else to do.

For some reason flash player doesn't load the swf file with Shockwave Flash 11.4 r402 enabled, only the Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0 works.
Since the swf file was build to work fine with 10.2 from flash player version(build on flash builder 4.5), i really don't know what is happening

Preview of Ken Burns effect doesn't work with some pictures

I just recently installed a new graphics card (ATI Radeon 7500) on my Sawtooth, 1.2 GHz, so I could utilize the Ken Burns effect in imovie HD. It works but only partly. It works great but with some pictures the preview pane doesn't show the photo. What I see is a what looks like bad reception on an old TV (fuzzies and the picture is distorted so bad you can't even make it out). With other pictures the preview shows up fine. I'm sure I've loaded the drivers. What else can I do?

I am presenting the same problem. I can set the Ken Burns' effect while I am with the pictures before placing them in the Clip or Timeframe viewer. After placing them there, if I try to edit the picture (either by right clicking and choosing -edit picture or by control clicking and doing the same, I ended up with a black background. If you change the setting in this black ackground and update this changes they will be effective. So, you can change the slide duration, and everything in the sliders but without an image.
I was running System 10.3.9 and I thought this was the reason. Today, I went and bought Tiger but it didn't sove the problem. I do believe it is a bug in the program. According to Apple's Help and David Pogue's "The Missing Manual" this shouldn't happen.

The back button doesn't work for some websites after downloading version 4.0

I recently downloaded firefox version 4.0. Upon downloading it I had a few issues occur with my browser. One issue was that all of my bookmarks that were on my toolbar disappeared. Also, when I visit a website and am browsing through it, if I want to go back to a previous page the back button doesn't work properly. Instead of sending me back to the previous page I was viewing it sends me all the way back to the home page or wherever I started on that website. This problem basically affects all websites that I visit. I would like to uninstall the new version of firefox and just go back to my old one if that's possible? Thanks

To respond to your comments first of all, the Bookmarks toolbar has been removed in Firefox 4.0
The back button should work as it normally does, but you can also right click it and select it from the list.
To revert to a previous version of Firefox, download v3.6.16 from here: [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.16]
Then uninstall Mozilla Firefox 4.0 choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc.
Finally run the Firefox installation file you downloaded earlier.

Safari doesn't work with Mountain Lion

I have installed OS X Mountain Lion. Now Safari and Apple Store doesn't work anymore. :-( What can I do? I've tried to Install Safari again but the problem is always the same!

Generally this will solve it, you can also try repairing permissions, once in a while it will help as well:
Repair your permissions. Go to applications then to the "other" folder then go to disk utility, on the left hand side you will see a white box. Select the second option, usually called "mac HD" with that selected click on "repair permissions" in the center towards the bottom of the screen. Wait for it to complete, then see if this fixes the issue.

I Have Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard and all the softwares are updated. Safari works in the sites that Firefox doesn't work.

Front USB doesn't work with some devices

Hi,
I have 2 front USB ports and have wired everything correctly (not using the 10th pin). I tried my digital camera and the maxtor USB hard drive and they both work. When I try plugging the Adaptec VideOh! USB capturing device, it doesn't seem to work right. It is detected and the drivers for it installed correctly, but I can't capture any video. When I unplugged it and plugged it to any of the 4 ports on the back, it works fine. The D-bracket ports also worked ok with the device. I wired the 2 front usb ports the same way as the d-bracket (they both have the same color wirings). The front ports seemed to work ok with the other devices I mentioned, just not the Adaptec Videoh! USB device. There is a JUSB1 and a JUSB2 on the motherboard. Are both the same? I have JUSB1 for the D-bracket and JUSB2 for the front usb ports. Both are wired the same. I just wonder why the Adaptec device can work with the D-bracket and not the front USB ports even when they are connected the same way. Any suggestions?

Contact form doesn't work with some email addresses

My contact form was working fine until a few weeks ago, now it won't work with the e-mail address I was using. I have tried different address some work some don't , what gives here.
For what I'm paying I should not be having this problem.

My macbook air 11" suddenly doesn't work with some software

this is the warning I saw: You can’t open the application “Install VectorWorks (A)” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
What's going on?? I erased my hard drive and I reinstalled it the Mountain Lion, and nothing happened. I need some advice. Thanks

if it's a PowerPC program, there is no way it works with 10.9 Mavericks. Search the forums and you will see hundreds of similar posts with the same answer. The only way to use a PowerPC program is with 10.6 or prior.

Unicode Input doesn't work with some languages

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the "Languages" Tab
2. Check "Install files for complex..." checkbox
3. Press Apply, Windows may ask you to insert your Windows XP
Installation CD
4. Press on the "Details" button
5. Press the "Add" button
6. Choose the "Armenian" or select item from the first combo
box,
7. Press OK
8. Press the "Language Bar..." button
9. Check the "Show the Language bar on the desktop" checkbox
if it is not checked
Now try to write in Armenian language in the edit box, the
font is Sylfaen which is supporting Armenian.
You will see "?"-s instead of letters.
Now open the Notepad, select the Sylfaen font in
Format->Font menu item, write something in mentioned language,
you will see normal letters,
now copy them and pasete them to the edit box below, you will
see normal text, so, normal input doesn't working, copy-paste is
working.

It looks like the syntax has changed slightly. I verified this works in Mavericks
Here is the new syntax:

The reverse is
defaults delete com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles
