Safari not able to access internet through wifi after updating iphone 3gs with ios6

i have updated my iphone 3GS with ios 6 and initially my wifi worked fine but for some strange reason it stopped connecting to internet even though its connected to my home wifi i have and tried and failed with all the possible solutions given in this forum i am able to use safari with my cellular data network but with wifi its not working please provide me with a solution

well, first check whether you're connected to the blackberry network...
how can I check whether myself connected to blackberry?
Check within the network bars on the phone whether it is showing you 3G, EDGE or GPRS in capital letters...!!
If not give a hard-reset to the phone (remove the battery put it back once)...
And if it shows in caps letters then try requesting for services again... how? on the phone desktop > within the search bar > type "Host Routing Table".... search results shows you as "options"... select that & select host routing table... afterwards, hit the blackberry menu button > select register...

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5209 might help you.  An iPhone 4 can airplay content from apps that support airplay and iTunes but it cannot mirror.  If your game does not have airplay in the app you cannot mirror it to the apple TV so I don't know if you can play just the music.  You should have no problem playing your iTunes over airplay though.

SMS. Deggie, had them check that.  After a lengthy discussion with Senior Tech advisor, it appears it is iMessage/Face Time server (they are the same) issue, which will strong arm those into purchasing Data if they use iMessage over multiple devices, as the server registers the phone number associated with apple ID.  Not impressed. I put what I've learned here in a simliar thread
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17416082#17416082
and this is what I've put in apple.com/feedback
"iMessage requires internet.  SMS does not.  iMessage/FaceTime auto logs phone numbers to the iMessage/Facetime  server (it's the same server as I've come to learn), this means that when iMessage/Face Time is turned on anyone sending a message through the server to me will only be sent as an iMessage- not when I'm not connected to internet, meaning I will not receive the message as an SMS by default, when I have another device using iMessage (such as MacBook) logged in.
This feature is a problem for me, bottom line, in that iMessage strong arms the consumer (me) into having to buy a data plan that they either do not want, or do not need."

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Not able to access DB on VM after getting Reserved IP

    Hi,
I have Reserved an Public Virtual IP for my VM 23.102.xxx.xxx  The OS WIN server 2012 R2 and and has SQL server 2012 running on it.
    Problem:
    1. I'm not able to access the DB or connect to the server form outside( from my local machine). I was able to connect when the Public Virtual IP wasn't reserved.
    2. As my website is hosted on the same VM, I use the Internal IP address as the Binding IP address, however I recently noticed that the Internal IP address has changed and my website was down.
    3. How do I prevent the Internal IP address from changing. So that I don't have to reset my webconfig and binding IP address frequently?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your question.
    1. How did you connect to the VM? I recommend you to use DNS name of the cloud service(xxx.cloudapp.net) with the public port for RDP to connect to see if the issue persists.
    2. In general, if you shut down an Azure VM to stopped (deallocated) status, the resources for the VM will be released and the internal IP address may be changed.
    3. You can assign a static internal IP address to an existing VM if it is in a virtual network. For more detailed information, please refer to the link below:
Configure a Static Internal IP Address for a VM
    Best regards,
    Susie

  • My iPad-2 is getting connected to Wi-Fi(full signal strength),but its not able to access internet.I tried few solutions from this forum, but nothing worked out.I am in India and i am in need of a remedy to it.

    Plz someone help me.

It's rather difficult to give you advice since you do not say what you have tried or anything about your networking equipment but your underlying problem may be that you are not really be properly connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet. Other devices on your network may still have a proper IP address and continue to function.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • Am not able to back up through WiFi

    Hello apples..
My iPhone was automatically backin up once connected to Wifi, plugged in, and locked. today i checked the last back up done it was 27/3. i tried to back up manually but it keeps sayin (backing up.... estimating time remaining) and keeps like that for ever. i connected my iPhone to iTunes and backed up from there (To iCloud and not to my computer) it worked fine and showed the last back up 5 minutes ago. so i can back up to iCloud throug iTunes and not through WiFi.
    Any suggestions ...

    Hi shahnawaz56,
If you are having issues backing up your iPad in iTunes, you may find the troubleshooting steps in the following article helpful:

  • Cannot access internet through itunes after last itunes update. Cannot get to itunes store or itunes help. Everything else works fine.

After last itunes update I cannot get to the internet through itunes. Cannot get to itunes store, itunes help, etc. Also, now when I sync everything syncs properly but I get message at end that tells me that my phone cannot be backed up on the laptop.

Something may be corrupt in your iTunes installation. The backup problem may or may not be related. The first step is reboot your system, disable your antivirus and firewall and try again. The next thing to try is completely removing iTunes and reinstalling: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925.
Also, if you used TinyUmbrella or Recboot as unauthorized apps to help with the update they corrupted your network settings on your computer. You will have to edit your hosts file and remove all references to Apple servers.

  • Safari not able to access myspace

Hi. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 and Safari v4.1.2 on a G5. I am having all kinds of problems trying to access myspace. Sometimes I get the message saying Safari cannot connect to myspace.com and then I'll try again later and everything will be fine. And a bit later I will not be able to connect again. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this behavior. Often when I try to log in to myspace I will get a message saying that Safari cannot connect to the server (forget the name). And then the next day I can. Sometimes when I am able to log in to my myspace page some of the modules are blank and sometimes they're fine. Sometimes I'm automatically directed to another user's profile (the same user but it may not be a bonafile profile). I am not having problems w/ any other sites, only myspace. Firefox seems to be much more dependable for the most part but even it too is sometimes a little quirky but only w/ myspace. Here's something really weird that happened. You know the Apple - Mac OS X icon on the dock that normally opens to a page displaying info about the latest version of OS X? One time recently it opened to a weird combination of a myspace profile and info about Mac OS X as if Mac OS X was a person. Wish I'd taken a screen shot. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

+Also, login to another account on your Mac. See if you can login to MySpace there. If not, it's a system wide problem, not just your user account.+
+You may want to check your startup disk for errors just in case. Follow the instructions here.+
    +http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417+
+Scroll down to where you see: Try Disk Utility.+
Thanks for the apple link. Tried a safe boot and things seem to be better. I had tried logging in w/ another user account and that seemed to be better also, but not always. Just as using a different browser seemed to work better but not always. I also reset my router which seemed to have bettered Safari's performance w/ myspace somewhat. It's an intermittent problem and just seems to pop up w/o rhyme or reason. For the most part myspace loads fine now but sometimes certain elements on the page will not display or sometimes "pages cannot be found" and I'm redirected elsewhere. And then the next day everything will be fine (or almost fine).

  • Not able to access ports through firewall

I'm setting up our new server, and we want to run a Quark license server through port 1028.
In the Server Admin, under Firewall->Services->Settings, I set up a service for the license server on port 1028 using TCP and UDP protocols. It's allowed for any traffic.
under Firewall->Advanced->, I set up a rule to:
    Allow all Quark services
    Source: any port 1028
Destitnation: any port 1028 interface IN
when I scan the open ports onthe server, I don't get a reponse from this port, or any ports. I've tried turning the firewall off completely, and it still doesn't show in the port scan.
The only major change we're made to this server is that we're running bonded Ethernet on the 2 ports. Could this be stopping the ports from getting through?
I've checked with IT, and they've (supposedly) verified that there aren't any blocked ports on our switch. The old license server runs fine on port 1028, and it's on the same switch.
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

You are running a firewall on a non public server?
Usually source and destination are not the using the same port number.
Source is usually chosen from a range of high port numbers.
Nevertheless if the QLA server isn't running on the server you woun't get an indication when portscanning the server (try portscanning on the server and use either localhost/127.0.0.1 or the "real" bonded interface IP).
To my knowledge a switch can't block portnumbers but for a bonded interface the switch needs LACP capability for the trunk. There could also be different VLANs and routing.

  • Windows laptop not able to access internet thru apple express network

I run macs all day long but was given a windows machine. I am trying to hook up on the net via a dsl apple network my brother has. I connect to his network but cannot get on the net. I have tried other(motel) wireless networks and they all work. He has had only 4 windows machines say they cannot connect. I am one of them. Have tried numerous settings but still no go. help anyone?
(should have just bought a powerbook!)
G4 desktop   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   Windows laptop

I am able to connect to his network.
Do you get a valid IP address?
If it is 169.x.x.x or similar then you have failed to authenticate.
What is happening is your PC can see the network, but is in fact not connected.
    he is using a
    wep password.
One of the problems with WEP is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.
In order to make things easier for people, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling people to use simple memorable WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys.
The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a Netgear client and vice versa.
One thing is a 13 character 128 bit WEP password will be hashed by all vendors in the same way (if you use 40bit WEP then a 5 character password is required).
Though sometimes not even that works and the HEX key must be used regardless.

Did you look at the guides I linked to in my other post in this thread?
I just cannot go on to the net. no
    email or browser.
If you do have a valid IP address then in a browser try
    http://17.254.0.91
    and report back.
