Safari not working on ipad mini
Hello, I can"t seem to get Safari working on my ipad mini. The screen is unresponsive and the text input boxes cannot have any text inputted. I have gone thru the various remedys I have found in this and other forums and nothing has worked. I brought it into an Apple store for a Genius to try and remedy and the inital troubleshooting didn't work. They tried a reboot, reset, and finally a new restore and the results were all the same.....nothing. They then took a brand new iPad mini out of a sealed box and setup that one. Believe it or not, after setting it up the same problem occured on this new iPad mini! So I asked to have my original iPad back as it had a personalization etched on the back but was told it was already swapped out and they couldn't return it to me. So now I have a brand new iPad mini that exhibits the same problem of Safari not working and also the advice from the Genius that in a couple of days Apple will have an update. I haven't seen any updates as yet so I am asking anyone on this forum if they have a solution to get Safari working. By the way everything else on the unit functions, I can surf using Chrome, read emails, etc.
Thank you
grandpalav

Did Safari stop working after you set up your iCloud account? Did Safari work before that?
Have you tried turning off syncing in Settings > iCloud > Safari > OFF?
This solved my question

Safari not work for iPad mini after updated to ios 6.1.3
After updated to ios 6.1.3, Safari just not response. I cannot input any web address. Do anyone has this problem? Do anyone know how to solve it?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
Safari not working on ipad issue
Safari is not working on ipad but is on my other mobile devices, what could be the problem?
Do this first, and then read Diavonex's post above - and perform those steps as well.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
After you perform all three steps, try Safari again. -

IPhone 5 Handoff not work with iPad Mini w/ Retina
Hello,
I am having some troubles with the new Handoff feature between my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini 2. So far I am not able to get anything over to my iPad Mini 2 from my iPhone example composing an email in the phone won't pick it up on the iPad, viewing a website in Safari won't go over the Ipad. However, everything so far I do on my IPad I can pick up on my phone. I have tried some of suggestions others have made with no luck. Not sure if anyone has had any problems with their iPad mini?
ThanksHad the same issue with my iPhone 6 and iPad Mini. In another forum I read the tip to turn off cloud drive and that solved the problem. Handoff now works. Hope it works for you.

FaceTime not working on Ipad Mini
Hi. Hoping someone cn help. Currently travelling in Asia. My Ipad Mini has stopped working with FaceTime. Have been in communication with home for months with no issue and suddenly it will not answer or dial out. Simply gives a busy signal!!!. Will ring on inbound or outbound but soon as answer it changes to busy tone...
Have tried to download and upgrade the IOS update but this also fails........my partner also has one with separate ID and hers also has stopped working although only a few months old...so the certificate issue I heard about expiring is a load of twaddle....
Was always a Samsung freak until I got this piece of kit, loved the the way the ipad works until now... Now very frustrated as lost communication with family..
Anywone can help would much appreciate it.........Hello Sstrangways,
It sounds like FaceTime is not functioning correctly all of a sudden and you cannot talk to your family anymore. I get how frustrating that can be, so lets try a few things. These steps to start with from the following article:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3367
Update both devices (your device and your friend's device) to the latest version of iOS.
If you started to have issues making or receiving FaceTime calls after April 16, 2014, you or your friend may have an expired device certificate. Updating both devices will resolve this issue.
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in Settings > FaceTime.
If the issue persists or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation," turn FaceTime off and then on again. Learn what to do if you can't activate FaceTime.
If you don't see the FaceTime setting, make sure that Camera and FaceTime aren't disabled in Settings > General > Restrictions.
Verify that the date and time are set correctly: Tap Settings > General > Date & Time and turn on Set Automatically.
Verify that both parties have an active Internet connection and are connected to a Wi-Fi network or a cellular data connection.
Restart your device.
If using FaceTime over a Wi-Fi network, go to the steps to resolve Wi-Fi network issues.
If issues persist, try quitting all the running apps on the device:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
When you have done that and restart the phone and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,

Safari not working on iPad 2 with latest updates
The safari is not working on my ipad 2. It has all the latest updates. When I try to go to an internet site it gives me an error message, "Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server." My other mobile devices are working. I have closed all of the inactive apps, reset the wifi and all of the other things that have been previously suggested, but still not working.
If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Do not reset your router. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured. -
What if you have a situation where Restore did not work. I do. The ipad mini says it is disabled, connect to itunes. When connected, it says that it is locked! I have tried using Recovery/Restore but after it completed, the ipad mini still malfunctions. It does not allow you to start the device. The slide image keeps dancing around the screen. The opening page keeps changing in size and the keyboard types on its own! What can be done to fix this????????
Maybe a reset would help, to be followed by trying the recovery again.
To reset, hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Then do the recovery.
If this doesn't solve it, I recommend visiting an Authorized Apple Service Center. -

The option of send in iMessage in iPad mini appears grey in color. Even though I have written a message. Sending the message is not possible. What can be done?
Good morning
1. Do you have internet access, does Safari bring up a web page?
If you have internet access try this:
A good old fashioned “restart” might do the trick.
Settings -> Messages -> iMessage (OFF)
Turn iMessages on
Reboot your iOS device
A reboot tends to free up memory, help with leaks, etc.
Hold the power key and slide to power off and simultaneously
Hold the power button to power on until the Apple icon appears -
Hi all,
i hope this is the right group to ask this question.
I let my friend have a go on my ipad, when returned safari is not working. the app loads fine. but the screen is grey. I can load websites but cannot do anything except that. the tolbar is fine. the issue is with interacting with websites, the screen is not responsive to any touch.
hope someone can help.
thanks,
tomTry clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (Clear Cache on iOS 4) and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
