Safari - Search field has disappeared

Trying to put a website in "Top Sites" but instead I heard the whoosh! sound and the search field disappeared.
How do I get the search field back?  I already reset Safari, checked the menu, I can't figure it out.
Thanks for your help

Thanks Niel. Customize Toolbar did it. What threw me off what that I did not hace a "show toolbar" instead I had "hide toolbar"
Thanks so much.

  • SharePoint Server 2013 Search Box has disappeared

    Hi guys,
SharePoint Server 2013 Search Box has disappeared and not showing on any sites. Even when I try to go to Search centre site I get an error "sorry something went wrong...
Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator. "
My search SA is working fine and crawl running with no error. It seems like there was same issue on SP foundation 2013 where there is fixed released for that:
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2760625?wa=wsignin1.0
But I have SP Server and i can confirm that I have installed SP1 (KB288055) in my farm.
I wonder if I need to install any CU to fix this.... I haven't installed any CUs in my farm yet.
Shall I go for Feb 2015 CU update or Sept 2014 CU? or is there any fixes for that with no CU or I need to install my farm from the scratch....
    Please help.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

You have deactivated SharePoint Search from center Admin.
    Please activate it

    Please do the following.<br><br>

#In the dropdown menu at the top, change it to "'''Use custom settings for history'''"<br><br>

How to restore Safari search field in upper right corner of Safari home page ? Thanks.

    Safari 6
In Safari 6 URL address bar and Google search bar are unified together.
Apple calls it " Smart search field".
    Best.

  • Address field has disappeared on Safari

The address field on Safari 4.1.3 on a Mac running 10.4.11 has disappeared. Worse, there is no function for open location and the keyboard command will not work either. I can only go to websites that are bookmarked.

    Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click View / Customize Toolbar.
Drag the default toolbar or individual items straight up to the toolbar area in your Safari window.

  • Safari search field autofill kicking me out

I am sure this has be discussd but I can't seem to find the treads. Perhaps I am not searching for the correct terms. Regardless, when I try and type something in the search field Safari will autofill the word and then kick me out of the address and search bar. For example, I am trying to type pinturest help but safari autofills pinturest (before I am done typing) to pinturest.com and then kicks me out of the field so I can't even finish typing.
    Anyone have a solution?

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

  • The Safari address bar has disappeared how do I get it back?

The Safari web address bar has disappeared, how do I get it back?

Thanks Roger I can now see the name of the website and if I right click on the name it shows me the web address. I used to be able to see the web address e.g. "https//google.co.uk" in this bar without having to right click on the name, is there a way of bringing this back?

  • ITunes 11.01.1.2 - Search Bar has disappeared.

I'm running the latest version of ITunes on a Windows machine.  As far as I know, we haven't updated it recently - think it has been updated for a while.
I opened ITunes this morning after using it successfully in the last couple of days and the Search Bar in the top right has disappeared, so I can't search my music collection.
I've looked under the Edit and View menus, checked Help, looked at preferences and I can't work out where it's gone or how to get it back.
    Please help!
    Cheers.
Don't worry - I've worked it out!  Thanks all!

    Hey there Man-of-Mystery,
It sounds like you are looking to use the local network sharing feature of iTunes, which can be found here:
iTunes: How to share music and video
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688
For the sharing feature mentioned above, you do not have to be signed in to Home Sharing and it does not require the other computers utilizing the shared library to be signed in to your Apple ID. Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • My Safari history tab has disappeared from my bookmarks.  How Can I retrieve it?

My History tab in Safari has disappeared from my bookmarks on my iPad 2.  Hw Can I retrieve it

There used to be a setting where you could set limits on the Safari history but those settings are gone now. IIRC, the settings were for 100 items, 150, 200 or something like that. It was a number of items in the history list and not a number of days. Since iOS a devices can sync bookmarks with Safari on your computer now, perhaps, that is where the history limit can be adjusted.
I am not a good judge of how long the history is retained because I erase my history and website data on a fairly regular basis. With the reading list feature and the ability to create a shortcut on the home screen for websites, I don't often find the need to go back to my history for weeks in the past.

  • Version 30: I hit the bookmarks star & the search function has disappeared. Plus, the b/marks list covers part of the tab... can i get the search back?

FFox updated itself to version 30 -- most unfortunately as it happens. Until now, hitting the bookmarks star opened a window on the left with a search window on top & the list of bmarks following. The search window now has disappeared, and the bmarks list covers the actual page I am browsing...
Can I get the search function back? Maybe even put a stop to bmarks list maskign whatever I am browsing?
Alternatively, what other reputable browser can you recommend thereby ridding myself of this and any future destructive "improvements"?
    Thank you

The sidebar icon is the icon between the history (clock) icon and the downloads (Down) arrow icon in this screenshot.

  • IPhone 4S v7.1.2,safari search result- page disappears!

Can anyone tell me why, when reading a page - the result of safari internet search, the page drops and is replaced by lists of "for sale" apps? I find this most annoying. I've had this phone for a while and used it mostly as a phone. I took advantage of a Siri search and found something of interest but before I could finish reading the multiple pages it just all disappeared. Ask Siri the same question to try and find it again was a joke. Same question, different results. I did finally locate page again, but before I could write down the web address, the page vanished again!  (I now know about bookmarks feature...)   Is this normal functioning for this phone?

Same here. Also can't stand not being able to view attached picts the same way as before either.

It sounds like the address bar itself is there, but maybe the buttons and/or the address and search windows are gone. (I've had my back/next buttons disappear for no apparent reason.)
If that's the case, it's easily fixed: Under the "View" menu, select "Customize Address Bar." This will display all the options for the bar, so you can drag whatever you want to the bar. (Note that there's a "default set" that you can drag all in one move if you want.)
Let us know if this works.

The only thing that appears at the top is...

    No menu above it.

You can drag '''Search Bar''' from '''Customize Toolbars''' window which is accessible either from
