Safari version for OS 10.3.9

What is the latest Safari version I can use with 10.3.9 and where can I get it?
Thanks.

You've got the latest version.
Safari 2 requires Tiger. Safari Beta 3 requires 10.4.9 and Safari 2.

The best version for Mavericks, in fact the only version, is an integral part of OS X. In other words you already have it.
    Its version number is 7.1.5.

  • Best Safari version for 10.6.6

I'm running Safari 5.0.2 on a 15" Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.6.
I'm having issues with some sites so wish to try another version of Safari to see if that will help.
I downloaded versions 5.0.2 (just for safety if I had to return to it), 5.0.3 and 5.1.1, all of which said they were compatible with Snow Leopard.
When I attempt to install 5.0.3 it says it cannot install as it needs OS version 10.6.5
When I attempt to install 5.1.1 it says it cannot install as it needs OS version 10.6.7
Even when I attempt to install 5.0.2 it says it cannot install as it needs OS version 10.6.4
What Gives?  Is there a version of Safari out there that will install onto OS 10.6.6?
Please don't recommend me changing my operating system, I am staying with this version for other compatibility reasons.  The question is:
Is there a version of Safari out there that will install onto OS 10.6.6?  And if so can you recommend the site in which to find it?  Thank you.

    Hi..

Never install anywhere but from the Apple support page.
Not running the latest Mac OS X puts your Mac at risk for malware. For whatever reason you are not running v10.6.8, consider updating to v10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.5.

  • Need to Download Safari version for OS X 10.3.9

Anyone know where I can find a version of Safari to download for my Mac?
I've looked throughout the website and can't seem to locate it.

    Hi WLE,
Does this mean that there is no newer version of Safari for this OS?
Correct. Version 1.3.2 was the last Safari release for OS X 10.3.
There are lots of other browsers you should be able to use on Google Docs though:
    Camino
    Firefox
    Opera
    OmniWeb

  • Highest Safari version for Mac OX 10.5.8 ?

My current Safari version on this MAC is 4.0.2 - this Power Mac is at its highest possible OS, but am I able to update my Safari higher than 4.0.2? If so, to what?
    Thanks.

Hmmm - Niel responded that I could upgrade to 5.0.6, which I went ahead and did before I saw your post, and it downloaded and seems be be working OK.  I realize I need a whole new upgrade of hardware to keep up with today's browser demands, but while I DO have a Macbook Pro running on Mavericks, this ol' PowerMac is my main workhorse and the best I can do for a desktop right now. Hopefully this 5.0.6 upgrade will help get me through sme sluggish browsing.
    Thanks for all your inputs.

  • Correct Safari Version For OS 10.3.9

I am running Safari 1.3.1 using OS 10.3.9 and have experienced several problems, such as the the inability to copy and paste images into other apps from Safari, invisibility of the find command, frequent crashes and increasing incompatibility with secure websites.
Am I using the correct and latest version of Safari for this version of my OS, and, if not, how can I download it?
    Thanks!

Hi MiKe, Welcome to Apple Discussions
That is the latest version of Safari 1.3.1 (v312.3.3) for our build.

  • Best safari version for OS 10.2.8 ?

    Hi,
I have an old pismo powerbook running OS 10.2.8 (jaguar) and I want to upgrade my version of Safari. Right now I am using Safari 1.0.3, but I can't find any way to download a newer version.
Ideally I want a latest version of Safari, but I'm starting to think that it's not possible with my OSX version. When I run "Software Update" it tells me there is nothing more to download and install (as if I were all up to date) ...
Can someone help me confirm that safari 3 (or any safari > 1.0.3) and OS 10.2.8 are impossible?
    thanks for any help,
    CC

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of, but I couldn't find it explicitly stated anywhere.
I already have the latest Firefox, but unfortunately the reason I wanted the newer Safari was so that I could do some cross-browser testing... oh well.
    Appreciate your insight,
    CC

  • Safari version for iBook g4

I need to download safari to my iBook g4 but I don't know which version it will support so which should I download?

    Hi,
If the profile details you listed in your post are correct, Safari 1.3.2 is the most recent version of Safari that can be used on OS X 10.3.9.
Edit: If you also installed Safari 3.1.1 on 10.3.x by mistake, the easiest way to recover from that is to perform an [Archive & Install|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710] to restore your system. Due to the various system files that are updated, it's not as simple as just replacing the Safari application.

  • Why does the Safari version for OS X 10.2.8 crash immediately on start?

    Hello All,
I am writing about my friend's problem with Safari. He has an iMac G4 800 Mhz with OS X 10.2.8 on it.
Recently this problem started. Every time he tries to start Safari it instantly crashes. We have tried everything suggested and it still refuses to run. It just stops responding to the system instanly. He says that he doesn't understand computers as well as I do. That's why he asked me to post this question.
If you have any suggestions I'll pass them along to him. We removed the preferences file and Safari still crashes instantly. What should we check next?
    Please help if you can.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
The best thing to do is post a crash report.
Also, trying Safari from another User Account (create one if necessary in System Preferences>Accounts (I believe that's what Jaguar used)) tells you if the problem is system-wide (crashes) or specific to the regular User account. That would influence suggestions for resolving the crashes.
    Please post back.

  • Previous Snow Leopard Safari versions

Hi. I need to go back to older Safari versions for Snow Leopard. The reason is that I have an app that run only with older Safari. I had an update and the app doesn't work anymore. Is anyway to uninstall the new one and install the older? How, where ?

i had the same problem and it drove me nuts
in fact i reinstalled sl and then used time machine to load my data and applications
but the hot news headlines still took forever to load.
    then,
this article fixed things for me:

  • Safari preference for how long opening tried?

    Good morning.
Is there a preference to set how long Safari tries to contact a website?
It seems to be set at maybe 60 seconds now.
I would like to set it at 5+ minutes for a single website that down't seem to want to let me on, but on for which multiple other users have ready access (probably all windows users).
I use the most recent Safari version for 10.4.11.
    Thanks for your time.
PS: I have also tried with Firefox and IE, but both seem to have the same limitation.

What is it in the newer browser versions that would solve this problem?
Security for starters. And yes, it would solve the problems. Your PBookG4 is about 8 to 9 yrs old? You can't expect aging softwae and hardware to compete with today's technology on the web.
Tiger v10.4 / Leopard v10.5 / Snow Leopard v10.6 / Lion v10.7 and Mountain Lion is not far behind so you are about 4 Mac operating systems behind.
Apple - OS X Mountain Lion. Even more innovation comes to the Mac.

I have updated from Snow Leopard to Lion with Safari Version 5.0.5. Now I can not update to Safari 5.1. There is no update in the Software Updater, and on the apple-download page, I only found a Safari 5.1 for Snow Leopard. When executing it, there is an error message, that it is for 10.6 only.
It seems that I should have first updated Safari, and then only to Lion, which I didn't. Any idea how I can fix this now without having to rollback to Snow Leopard, update Safari and then go back to Lion?

Try this Safari5.1 from the installer package

The download worked better with Firefox not sure why. At the bottom of the page after the captcha>> slow down load is the Free link,  it took about 4 minutes to download on my test.

My Safari browser is not working well. Junk pages keep popping up and key pages, for me, appear intoxicated by alien pop ups preventing me navigate that page.
I updated to latest Safari version (7.0.4) but the problem persists.
I tried downloading a new version of Safari for Mac OS X Mavericks but couldn't find it available.
    Thanks for your help.

The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

I just downloaded the newest update for mountain lion. After downloading any restarting for installation, I got a message stating that the update cannot be installed due to an error. Yet when I check I have version 10..8.3 and safari version 6.0.3, which the update was for.  Does this mean that the update is iinstalled and the message was incorrect?

Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.
    Cheers and Happy Computing
