Safari will not clear my username and passwords it has saved

I am trying to get Safari to clear saved usernames and passwords from the saved list and it refuses to do so. I've done everything from go into settings and click edit on the usernames and passwords and click remove and even remove all and nothing happens. I've also clicked on file and reset safari and my usernames and passwords still aren't deleted. Whatever happens, I do not want to lose my bookmarks though; those are very important to me.

In Safari Preferences - Autofill
Make sure: user names and passwords is deselected.
Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.
Delete all the keychains for the sites you don't want user names and passwords saved for.
Relaunch Safari.

Perhaps the reason that your username and password are not recognised is because you have caps lock on.

When I want receive emails it will not accept my username or password yet when I go to google mail my passwords are accepted

how can i clear the usernames and passwords in the log in history of the websites? example when i want to login to my facebook i always type first letter of my e-mail and it comes with the passwords because before i put remember my password, and in other websites so, i just need to delete all this login history and it's not working from the clear everything !!! :S any idea please !! thanks in advance :)

JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection. It has those fields only for MSMQ. Our Production environment does not allow us to connect to JMS (we use Tibco EMS) anonymously, so it prevents us from use of Data Integrator. Is there any way to pass those params, or obtain the correct version of JMS Adapter, or obtain source codes of the JMS Adapter so we can correct them ourselves (we can send you the corrected sources back) ? Please enable guest logins and log in as Guest. Launch Safari and test. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and disable it if you wish.

All my websites will load my username and Passwords except for my website with Scottrade.com
I double checked to ensure that my username password is in profile and it certainly is.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab.
Select the box next to: *User names and passwords*
Your passwords are actually stored in Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities)
When you login to a site, after selecting that box, after you enter your user name and password, you should be prompted to save that information, click Yes. That will create a new keychain for you.
Keep in mind, some banking and investment sites do not allow the "autofill" feature to do security.

How do I clear stored usernames and passwords for my podcasts?

We currently operate a password-protected RSS feed for the subscription portion of our website. For the most part it works flawlessly; people can subscribe to the feed and receive daily updates to their iTunes. If their account is canceled or goes on hold for non-payment then our database deactivates their username, which halts access to the feed.
That all works well. The problem is that if they re-subscribe to the subscription portion of our website they receive a new username and password. Then, when they go to re-subscribe to our password-protected podcast they are not prompted in iTunes for their new username or password. iTunes simply uses the old username/password combo from their canceled account, which makes the podcast fail to update.
So essentially, I'm asking how we can manually clear iTunes' stored usernames and passwords for podcasts. Thanks!

Figured it out. Just gotta delete keychain.plist, which is found in one of the following two spots:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Preferences\keychain.plist
C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Apple Computer\Preferences\keychain.plist

Safari will not open home page and other glitches since upgrade

Strange stuff happening since I did the Combo Upgrade 10.4.11. Safari will not open to my home page. I have used preferences to set the home page but closing Safari and restarting still opens a blank page with no URL in the address box. I also noticed that several pages I have opened that have log in fields don't allow tabbing to the next field. I have checked all the preferences and every thing seems right. I have trashed Safari and its preference folder, downloaded the upgrade and used Pacifist to reinstall Safari. I used Disk Utility to repair permissions. Still I can't can't get a home page to load. Before the reinstall, I synched with .Mac to save my bookmarks and synched again afterwards to bring them into the fresh install of Safari. What should I do now?

Here is a culmination of my searching and efforts that fixed this issue for me. I find it necessary to run Disk Utility more frequently.
1) Trash Safari preferences in all user accounts:
Computer/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
User/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
2) Empty trash
3) Move files from Input manager to desktop
/Users/YourUsername/Library/InputManagers/
/Library/InputManagers/
4) Restart computer
5) Close Safari if automatically opens on restart
6) Open disk utility: Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
7) Verify permissions
8) Repair permissions
9) Reopen Safari
10) Return Input Manager files from Step 3, ONE FILE AT A TIME from Desktop to Input Manager Folder and Restart between moves.

Sharing via email says the server did not recognize the username and password combination

I am trying to share photos in iPhoto via email (gmail) and it says the server does not recognize the username password combination. I have deleted the email account rebooted iMac and re-entered the gmail account info and I get the same message. I have confirmed the username and password are correct.

LarryHN I guess I should have clarified that. I did try it that way and I am able to email pictures with mail set as the email client. When I change it to iPhoto as the email client is when I get this message. I have the same setup on my Macbook and it works great for emailing pictures from iPhoto. Although I can send them through email client, I prefer doing it through iPhoto.

OS X not remembering network username and password

I have had this problem since starting at my current office. (Over 16 months.) I inherited a computer from a previous staff person. Each of my computers have been Macs. (3 different computers in 16 months.) We are mostly a Mac computer office but our Active Directory and File Server are both Window PC's. BOOO!
Whenever I try to log in to the file server I get the request for the my network user name and password. The window already has a user name but it's not mine. It is the user name of a previous user of my original computer (From 16 months ago.). I say original computer because I now have my thrid computer which I migrated from the first and second one. I'm sure whatever the problem it is has come along with each migration.
I have looked in my Keychain Access and found the network password item for the file server. When I opened it my username and password are correct.
So... where do I go from here? Thanks for your help.

Try deleting it from KeyChain. Also look for any other passwords for other users in the past for this and delete them.
When you log back into the server, password fields should be blank. Put your's in and save it.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Dreamweaver CS5 (Windows) does not remember ftp username and password

I have seen this problem mentioned in other threads concerning Mac instalations of Dreamweaver, but this is a Windows installation. I recently installed DW CS5, and it refuses to remember the ftp username and password after I quit the program and restart it later. This was never a problem with CS3. It is extremely annoying. Any suggestions?

OK, got it fixed. Even though it said it was pointed to the correct directory in "local site folder" I picked it again and then it said something like "rebuilding cache". and it worked.
