Safari wont show pictures on certain sites. What to do?

on some web pages, i can't see the pictures (eg finn.no, a real estate service). Im new to mac and know nothing. Any suggestions?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

I have a PC win XP sp2 if it helps..
I hope some Apple-Pro knows the issue and closes this bloody case >.<

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall for the network problem.
Also for the original problem try the following if Ana's suggestions does not work
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Safari quits when I visit certain sites...

    Hi there,
I've just migrated over from to a new MacBook Pro from an iMac and i'm having problems with Safari. Everytime I visit a site that has a video embedded inside it Safari quits. For example when I visit www.apple.com/quicktime it will quit before it loads the video.
I thought this was a problem with Safari, but then I tried Internet Explorer and Firefox and the same happened. I've had a look on the support forums but it's all a bit too technical for me. Could anyone point me in the direction of a solution please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello abbas:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
I am not sure, but I suspect some incompatibility in programs that run the Power PC chip as opposed to the Intel chip.
You could check the add ons/plug ins. One thing that occurred to me is that the Flip4mac module may be a problem (you need version 2.1 for Intel-based Macs).

  • Safari wont load pictures

on a lot of websites (mainly myspace) pictures wont load, and the image of a little blue box with a question mark will appear, i cant figure out how to solve this problem

Most of the images of specific web sites will not load in my Safari browser- nor will they load in my Firefox browser. I am running Leopard, and before that Tiger- same problem with both browsers in both OSs. For example, the www.anntaylor.com web site, when I click on any of the items in the menu bar and the following page loads, none of the pictures appear- just the small question mark in the blue square. I've emptied the cache and cleared the cookies and the problem persists. Any ideas?
Another problem with both Firefox and Safari is that several web sites simply do not load on my Mac. (I know they work because I can access them from my work on a PC.) Some web sites that do not load: www.macys.com, and www.bloomingdales.com. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Safari wont open hotmail or microsoft sites

Ive only got my internet working today. When i first connected i was able to go on hotmail and managed to download microsoft messenger. However it now wont let me go on, it seems, any microsoft site (still connects to msn messenger fine though). I really dont know why this has happened, the only changes that have been made since i first managed to get on and now are software updates - one may have been a safari update. If any anybody might think this is the problem, do they know how i can go back to the way it was before (the version that came with the ibook)? Ive tried empyting the cache and deleting cookies (although there were no msn one to delete) as suggested in other posts to get hotmail to work. Does anyone have any ideas? this is driving me crazy!! Please please help!

No, it wont open hotmail at all whether messenger is running or not. I actually just read on another website that it was a java update that caused the same problem for someone else. I remember a java update was on of the ones i installed so this could be the problem. The other guy said he fixed the problem by getting rid of the update - can this be done without resetting the entire computer to the way it came?

  • Safari sporadically won't load certain sites.

So I have been sorting through the frustrations dealing with what I think is a pretty widespread issue. I chose to make a new post as all my searches found the issue tacked on to other questions, and I think this is pertinent to it's own post.
Since Leopard, Safari will at random not load one site. It will say it cannot connect to the server, and that it is either down or I am not connected to the internet. No everyone says "Thats a network issue", but it isn't. It's a Safari issue. Currently the website not working is www.apple.com, pure fun there, and as we can see, I found a way around it into the discussions. Dropping www. has no affect and both versions of the url work fine in Camino/Firefox. It simply isn't a network issue.
It's getting a bit frustrating to have no way to resolve this. Quitting Safari doesn't help, renewing the DHCP lease doesn't help. I am left at a loss. Anyone find any resolution to this?

An explanation of why that is both safe and a good idea to use those DNS settings can be read here:
    http://www.labnol.org/internet/tools/opendsn-what-is-opendns-why-required-2/2587 /
Whilst in System Preferences/Network you should also turn off 'IPv6' in your preference pane, as otherwise you may not get the full speed benefit (the DNS resolver will default to making SRV queries). If you want to know what IPv6 is:
This is Apple's guidance on iPv6:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8708.html
Click on Apply Now and close the window.
    Restart Safari, and repair permissions.

  • Safari and Firefox stalling on certain sites

Certain internet sites like the New York Times and ESPN seem to make Safari and Firefox stall completely. Anyone have a solution for this?

Try using the Activity Window when visiting one or two of the problem sites. I found that one site was loading two flash files, each over 1 megabyte. Instead of loading the rest of the site, these files stalled the entire site, or Safari, until they were loaded. In the Error Console I'm seeing lots, more than two dozen on one site, of Javascript errors. Again, I think it's a combination of bad/outdated programming on some sites and something broken in Safari.
I think the issue boils down to sloppy programming on some sites and changes to the recent build of Safari. I don't know if the recent OS upgrade broke Javascript and I wish there were a way to reinstall it alone to see if that fixes part of the problem.
I also notice that with OS 10.5.6 and Firefox that same problem sites are also slower to load, but not nearly as slow as when using Safari. Logging in with Tiger and its version of Safari is definitely a better experience.

  • No pictures on published site, what's happening?

After a few months of no activity, I wanted to add some pictures from an iPhototo album to my website. To my surprise, the pictures were not published to the website. First I thought it was a problem with the ftp upload. I have published the site locally and the same problem arose. Is there anyone who faced the same problem and found a solution? Something went wrong, but I don't know where to look. I have moved the original domain and started from scratch. Same problem arises, no pictures after publishing the site.

Here are some fixes you can try:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
    launch iWeb and try again.

  • My Iphone 4 wont show pictures or video using composite original cable

Im using the latest software and it still wont work! I have a LG 2011 model TV and I have tried diffrent other TV`s. But it wont work! And yes,  the colours match and I am using the right connections. The sound is workin though. The setting are set to PAL and widesreeen (I live in Norway) on the Iphone settings. Can sombody help me?

Not sure if you ever got an answer, but was having the same problem until I found that it will only show some types of things on the TV. So do a short video with your camera, connect everything up, then play the video and you should see something on the iphone that says playing to the TV.
At least that way you're confirmed that you have a good connection. So basically, keep in mind that not all applications support it. Another good one to test with is Youtube.

  • Safari wont display pictures

Have seen quite a few topics on this already but the advice seems to be to post a new question ...
Safari recently stopped showing images on web pages or google image searches. Upgraded to OSX 10.4.7 and Safari 2.0.4 but problem still persists.
Display images button is checked, have reset, moved all plug-ins, deleted safari.plist file but to no avail ... I have seen some advice on a libJPEG.dylib file but that was for 10.4.6 & 2.0.3 and it all looked a bit scary for a novice like me.
Can anyone offer some advice/help? Thanks

    Eme,
I tried checking the Flashpix & Photoshop image boxes in Quicktime preferences but no change so I set them back to unchecked.
All system and quicktime preferences seem to be the same between the main account and the test one I set up.
I had not repaired permissions and so I ran it, but without any effect ... still no images in safari. I have pasted the log file below. There were some repairs but whatever it was, it didn't fix the problem.
Do I have any other options beyond a complete re-install ? That would be a bit of a nightmare !!
