Same script against two applications, two diff results

Hi All,
One calculation script against XXX application it is not giving expected, not giving any result, but I created another application “Testapp” and run the same calc script against “Testapp” application it is giving the expected result. Both applications are same members, properties everything. I didn’t understand the issue. Any ideas please.
Regards,
Sravan Kumar.

Hi Sandeep,
1. Are the setting in cfg files same for both the applications.
Both applications are in same server and using the smae cfg file.
2. When you had run the calc script, was system consuming same amount of resources i.e processor , RAM ..etc. for both application at two different times. Check ,any parallel execution happening with 1st application's calc script.
System OS is Linux, I dont have much idea of linux like how to see the RAM ,processing etc. Is there any way to find.
3. Finally, you can check for server end, anything happened when you ran 1st application's calc script, by referring to OS logs.
No idea of Linux server log files.
If you provide the detailed information is appriciated.
Hi Glenn,
I'll ask the silly question. Do you have sut updatecalc off on in both scripts? If not, it's possible intelligent calculationis turned oon. In the first cube, the values would be calculated and would not be affected by your calc. In the second new db, they would not have been
I have used the updatecalc off option also. But no result for first application and result for second application.

Sravan Kumar.

    Hi Dave,
There's some very good learning resources here:

Also, there's a script repository full of examples you can learn from and tweak to meet your needs here:

As an additional suggestion, I'd highly recommend upgrading PowerShell on Win7 and WS2008R2 to v4. v2 was okay, but v4 makes life much easier (make sure you read the system requirements first though, there's still a few incompatibilities):

  • Why does viewing the same file in two diff. versions of Photoshop give diff. results?

    Hey,
Our designers use CS2 for their work. All of the designs that they work on are in black and white. When the same file is opened at a given zoom %, the files seem to have a different view for CS2 and CC. The print size ofcourse is the same, but our work involves viewing designs of 700 dpi at 3-5% and the difference in viewing the same files matters.
We want to upgrade our software, because CC is way better in so many other functions but this is the only thing that is stopping us from doing so. Please let me know if there's a way to fix this or is it just something we have to accept with the upgrade.
I will share screenshots of both the version with the same file soon.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Chris.
Same issue, new question - don't ask me why I did this, but while both Photoshop and the now corrupted file were open, I changed the name of the folder containing the file, then continued to save the open version of the file without first closing it and reopening it from the newly renamed folder. Could this have caused both files in that folder to become corrupted in different ways? The other file that gives me the "file is empty" error was not open at the time, but it was in that folder. I'm thinking maybe by changing the path to the files while Photoshop was running, that could have triggered this. ?? I have 3 1TB internal drives raided to read as 1 drive, so I'm really hoping that one of these disks is not dying on me as you suggested. I was also backing up an external drive using BackBlaze when this all occurred - any possible connection? How can I find out if one of my three raided drives (and which one) might be going bad?
    Thanks!!

  • I am trying to store music for two different iPods on the same computer, against two different Apple IDs. When I try and download content from the Cloud I get an error message?

I am trying to store music for two different iPods on the same Windows 8 computer, and when I try and download content from the Cloud I get an error message. Is it possible to have two different Apple IDs on the same computer?

Unfortunately you've discovered too late how important it is to maintain an up-to-date backup of your iTunes library (and all other data of value).  You could, before wiping the drive, have considered making use of a commercial data recovery service that could (albeit at considerable cost) have extracted your library from the hard disk, even if virus infected.
In the absence of that option, you will need to restore the content of your library from its original sources:
Depending on your location, you may be able to re-download any iTunes Store purchases that are still available on the Store
Likewise, most digital purchases from Amazon (including auto-rip copies of purchased CDs) should be available from the Amazon Cloud and via the Amazon Music application - the same may be true of other commercial sources for digital downloads
Content imported from your CDs will have to imported again
The specific situation that you describe regarding the music imported from your friend's external HDD suggests that either the source is badly organized and/or originates from a source other than iTunes (other media players may use alternative tags for information like artist, title, album, etc. that are not wholly consistent with how iTunes handle these).  Without details of the issues you're seeing it is difficult to suggest a remedy other than going through the media album-by-album, track-by-track, and correcting the inconsistencies.
In the absence of a backup or access to the original library data there is no option other than painstakingly recreating your library as described above.  As you do so, you'll now realize how important creating and maintaining backups are - in my case I have at all times three separate duplicates of my library, in two different locations, where none is ever more than a week old compared to the content of my master library.

  • Difference in LOCL print preview for same script in two different systems

    Hi All,
When I am testing a dunning letter ( Custom sapscript) in my testing system the LOCL print preview is correct...When I am testing  it in my development system by taking print preview from LOCL it is not printing a uline and some line item headers...
There is one text element for printing line item header.
    U1....ULINE(73)
    T0    &vline& ....&T_MATNR&..
    T3    &vline&
    UL   &ULINE(73)
IN Development sytame in print preview every thing is perfect except the above portion the first uline and vline are not getting printed and as a result next vline and uline are dispalyed a bit above .. I am unable to understand why one uline is not printed but the othe one is printed as we are using HELVE12 in both cases and above all  why in test system this problem is not occuring..
I checked and am 100% sure there is no difference between the layout versions in the two sapscripts...Also checked most of the SPAD configs in two systems and found them same..
Can you give me any idead about the reason for the diffrence in print preview as in both cases it will consider the printer installed on the local desktop....
Just we use citrix metaframe to log in SAP but that should not be the reason as thne problem would be in both system..
    Please help me out...
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi ,
I already mentioned that I am selcting LOCL ( Device type Sapwin)  in both cases so in both cases it is considering the printer installed on the local system...

  • Same calculation producing two differing results

    Hi All
I have some code in a user exit on save of a delivery (VL02N) that calculates the number of bags/pallets required to furnish that delivery.
I am now adding the same code to a user exit on save a sales order (VA02) to calculate the number of bags/pallets again but when run it is producing differing results.
    the code is as follows:
    DATA: bag_weight(12) TYPE p DECIMALS 4.
    DATA: pallet_weight TYPE marm-umrez.
    DATA: bag_denominator TYPE i.
    bag_weight = pallet_weight / bag_denominator.
    Assuming pallet_weight = 1000 and bag_denominator = 40.
On save of a delivery it is calculating bag_weight as 25.0000 (correct):
On save of a sales order it is calculating bag_weight as 0.0025 (incoorect).
All data declaration, code etc is the same. Does anybody have any clue as to why it would give two differing answers, I would not like to have to add a additional multiplication step to correct the result otherwise.
    Thanks in advance
    David

    Hi,
Whenever you are using the Packed numbers, you need to check or set the program attribute fixed point arithmetic only as only this ensure that the decimal point is calculated correctly.
Have a look at the help.sap.com documentation link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/eb2fd9358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

We want to transfer 10 MT of Material 62 to Material 61 equivalent no of Bagged 10*20= 200 bags with in the same plant.
We are trying to do the same using 309 movement, but system is throwing error
"" Stockkeeping units MT and BAG differ

    Procedure

    Please advise,
    Regards,
    Alok

I am afraid I must confirm that your system is working as designed.
Transfer posting "material to material" is only possible if both
materials are managed in the same stock keeping unit (the term "stock
keeping unit" is a synonym for the term "base unit of measure").
For more information, please refer to the on-line documentation under
    Transfer Posting and Stock Transfers:
"In order to carry out a transfer posting from material to material,
both materials must be managed in the same stock keeping unit."
Even though you have defined in MM01 an alternative unit of measure and
a conversion factor, the system will not consider this conversion
    factor.
I am afraid that the only solution available for you to be able to
transfer from one matrial to another material, is to make the units
of measure the same, this is, both for either GR or CX.
But, please, take into account that changing the base unit of measure
is possible only under certain circumstances:
o  if no stocks of the material exist in the system.
o  if no purchase requisitions, purchase orders, or scheduling agreement
       exist for the material.
The error message M7 105 cannot be converted to "warning" through
customizing, because it is hardcoded in the program and the customizing
    settings have no effect.

  • Query performance difference with same script in two servers

    Dear all,
I have problem with an INSERT Procedure. I have 2 servers, say Server A and Server B, In Server A the query execution will be finished in 4 minutes where in the Server B the same Query its taking more than 2 hours.
If I look into the execution plan in both servers, it looks different.
Both have the Default Parallelism settings.
Cost Threshold for Parallelism : 5
    Locks : 0
Max Degree of Parallelism : 0
    Query Wait : -1
What causing to slow down the process? Is the parallelism slowing down the process?
When I look into the SERVER A's active running processes in management studio, I found that there are 8 INSERT Queries running with only 2 RUNNABLE and 6 SUSPENDED. Anything is getting locked out or Waiting?
Please help and suggest my a solution for it. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    kranthi kumar G.

Thanks Tony for your reply. Here are my answers.
Are we talking a large amount of inserts?
    YES
What is the autogrowth settings for the database files on the two Servers?
    Autogrowth by 10%
The Server you are having an issue with, are the any triggers on the Tables?
    No.
Is there a background or other trace running on the slow Server that could be impacting performance?
Yes, we are running a monitoring tool to check the performance of the load.
Is there another database on the slow Server causing issues?
    No.
This could be a hardware issue; have you use perfmon to see if there are any disk queues?
We will check with our DBA on this.
What is the Raid Configuration?  Are the files on a single spindle?  If so what is the fragmentation state of any single spindle volume?
There is no Rain Configuration. Its a Windows Azure A7.
Are you automatically updating statistics on the slow Database?
    Yes.
Is the Anti Virus Software on the Slow server scanning the data files?
Yes, but not on the database level.
    Regards,
    kranthi.

  • How to use OEM to run a script against many targets and send result by emai

Is there a way to use OEM to query the RMAN backup against many targets (databases) and have all the results send to you by a single email?
    The script is :
    SELECT a.instance_name, b.session_key, b.session_recid, b.session_stamp, b.command_id,
    b.status, b.start_time, b.time_taken_display, b.input_type,
    b.output_device_type, b.input_bytes_display, b.output_bytes_display,
    b.output_bytes_per_sec_display
    FROM
    v$instance a, V$RMAN_BACKUP_JOB_DETAILS b WHERE ( b.start_time > (SYSDATE - 30) ) order
    by b.start_time
    Thanks.

Are you using a RMAN catalog? If not, you can used UDM's (this will be messy w/o a RMAN catalog) for what you want to do.
What I started out doing was....
You can create a UDM and push that UDM out to the targets you want. The problem with UDM's, is you can only pull 1 or 2values. I started down this same path and wrote a sql to concatenate the data into one value, such as
    SELECT '|'||input_type||'|'||status||'|'||start_time||'|'||end_time||'|'||ROUND(elapsed_seconds,2)||'|'||time_taken_display||'|'
    FROM v$rman_backup_job_details
    WHERE (INPUT_TYPE, START_TIME)
    IN
    ( SELECT input_type, MAX(START_TIME)
    FROM v$rman_backup_job_details
    GROUP BY INPUT_TYPE
    AND INPUT_TYPE = 'DB FULL';
Do not put any warning/critical thresholds in the UDM and just let OEM Agent gather the data and pull it back into the SYSMAN repository.
You can then look at this view, SYSMAN. MGMT$METRIC_DETAILS to find the correct SQL to pull out the data you need. This view is made up of a 4 way union between 4 sql's. Once you find the SQL you need, then you can pull this information out and into a custom table of your own.
Once you have data into another table, you will then have to extract the concatenated string out, parse it out and report on it. This is where I stopped and said there has to be a better way.
I then thought about it and the RMAN catalog has all this, assuming you are using a RMAN Catalog.
I wrote a piece of dynamic sql to loop through the rman catalog to pull this out into a historical table and store the data. Then I can report on it from there. If you have a RMAN catalog, this works much better.
I also use UDM's to use OEM as a data extract tool to pull the number of archivelogs and bytes my databases create on an hourly basis. I pull 2 values, bytes and # of logs. So this works well with UDM's, don't have to concatenate a bunch of values and then parse it back out again.
I push this UDM to all databases, and have it run hourly. Then daily, I extract this information into a custom table and then use analytic functions to determine how much space is needed on the db servers for archivelogs for a 24 hour time frame. This helps with sizing our log destinations and gives us legitimate reports for Storage teams.
I can also build reports on how many archive logs are generated on a daily, weekly, monthly basis per database. Good for analysis and charge back methods.

  • Execute the same query twice, get two different results

I have a query that returns two different results:
    Oracle Version : 10.2.0.1.0
I am running the following query on the Oracle server in SQL*Plus Worksheet.
    SELECT COUNT(*)
    FROM AEJOURNAL_S1
    WHERE CHAR_TIME BETWEEN TO_DATE('12-AUG-10 01:17:39 PM','DD-MON-YY HH:MI:SS AM') AND
    TO_DATE('13-AUG-10 14:17:34','DD-MON-YY HH24:MI:SS')
    AND DESC2 LIKE '%'
    AND DESC1 LIKE '%'
    AND DESC2 LIKE '%'
    AND ETYPE LIKE '%'
    AND MODULE LIKE '%'
    AND LEVELL = '11-WARNING'
    ORDER BY ORDD DESC;
The very first time the query is run, it will return a count of 259. The next time the query is run, lets say, 10 seconds later, it will return a count of 260. The above query is exemplary of the kind of thing I'm trying to do. It seems like the more fields filtered against '%', the more random the count return becomes. Sometime you have to execute the query three or four times before it levels out to a consistent number.
I'm using '%' as the default for various fields, because this was the easiest thing to do to support a data-driven Web interface. Maybe I have to 'dynamically' build the entire where clause, instead of just parameterizing the elements and having default '%'. Anyway, to eliminate the web interface for the purpose of troubleshooting the above query was run directly on the Oracle server.
This query runs against a view. The view does a transpose of data from a table.
    Below is the view AEJOURNAL_S1
    SELECT
    CHAR_TIME,
    CHAR_INST,
    BATCH_ID,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6543,CHAR_VALUE)) AS ORDD,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6528,CHAR_VALUE)) AS AREAA,
    MIN(DECODE(CHAR_ID,6529,CHAR_VALUE)) AS ATT,

    FROM CHAR_BATCH_DATA
    WHERE subbatch_id = 1774
    GROUP BY CHAR_TIME, CHAR_INST, BATCH_ID
So... why does the query omit rows on the first execution? Is this some sort of optimizer issue. Do I need to rebuild indexes? I looked at the indexes, they are all valid.
    Thanks for looking,
    Dan

DanIn fact you the first time you ran the query the data has been retrived from disk to memory , in the second time the data is already in memory so the respnse time should be faster ,but if you chagne any condition or column or letter case the optimizer will do the first step (data will be retrived from disk to memory )

  • Why do I get two different results from the same coefficients?

I am getting two different results from the Polynomial Evaluation function.
For the first one, I am getting the coefficients from a Polynomial Fit function.  I feed the coefficients from the Fit function into the Poly Eval function and get the correct result of 12.8582 when I evaluate 49940.
For the second one, I create constant array of the SAME values that were returned from the Polynomial Fit function (i typed them in).  However, I am getting an incorrect result of -120.7913 when I feed the constant array into the Poly Eval function when I evauate 49940.
How can this happen when I am using the same array values?

  • Is it possible to use two diff forms in same jsp/jsf page?

    Hi all,
My requirement is to submit the form based on selection of radio button.
since half part needs to be jsp based which is not using any tags etc.
But i am trying to use some jsf based component which requires to be inside <f:view><h:form> of
    <%@ taglib prefix="f" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="h" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" %>
    i.e. some <c:comboBox>
    </h:form> </f:view>
Now earlier i was submitting the form as
    <form action="/techstacks-v2_1/reportAction.do" method="post" name=doSearch id='doSearch'>
But now i found, in order to use combo box component which is entirely jsf based i need to use <f:view><h:form> which is kind of taking over the previous form submission mechiansm.
I am trying to keep them separate as two differnt forms.
one entirely jsp based and other as jsf based.
Now my question is can i use such way of doing so or is there any better way of implementing so.
My friend suggested that i can pass the value of jsf based form in hidden form to a input box of form to be submitted finally instead of submitteing two diff forms.
but in that case also i ahev to use two forms in a single jsp/jsf page.
suggest me something which can really work out.
    thanks
    vijendra

You can use as many forms as you want as long as you don't nest forms. The HTML spec probibits that.
