Samsung Fascinate Will Not Hold Charge

My Fascinate will not hold a charge longer than about 8 hours. I went to the Verizon store and they said I should get a new battery.  I did. It held better for a couple of weeks and now it is worse thatn before.  Any ideas?

Hello brookssanford,
Are you still experiencing opportunities with your device holding a charge?  If so, I would suggest a factory reset to the device. Since you received a different battery the common denominator would lead towards the device.  To do the reset you would navigate to Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase Everything.  The phone will reset and prompt you to re-activate the phone.  Please keep in mind this will erase everything from your device so please back up if desired.  Please let me know if this helps. Thank you.

  • Battery will not hold charge?

MY phone will not hold a charge for more than a couple of hours.

    Try using it less.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Very very short battery life - will not hold charge on new ipad mini retina, HELP

Otherwise if they don't help take it to an Apple store if possible, they should be able to confirm if the battery is worn oout or some other fault.

  • HTC rezound will not hold charge while cable is plugged in. (*new battery*)

I have had the rezound for over a year now and around christmas time I was having problems with my battery not charging properly. I recently bought a new battery thinking that the battery was bad. Well it still did the same thing. I would plug in the cable at night the orange light would come on and the lightning bolt would come on saying its charging. I would wake up the next morning and the battery would be in the yellow or even in the red. sometimes the phone would shut off completely. Then I found out that if I put my phone in "airplane mode" it would charge up or just stay at the percentage when i plugged in the cord. Ive tried multiple charging cords to see if that was the problem and its not. Now that i have been dealing with the situation for over half a month now putting it in "airplane mode" will not charge the phone anymore or hold the charge. Now I do not have insurance on the phone and the htc warranty is out of date as i said before that ive had the phone for only a year. The sales clerk at verizon said that if i can prove the phone is in working conditon (im able to send texts messages or call from the phone) that i am eligible for I believe what she said was a 2 week warranty to be able to get the phone fixed. Because she said what the problem sounds like is the charging port in the phone has gone bad. Now is this true? or is she just bullsh***ing me just to try to get more money out of me or is there something i can do to fix the port myself? please i really need help soon because i leave for basic training in the army Feb.4th. so i can get this phone fixed asap.

The pram battery is dead and causing you to lose the date when it powers down. Your main battery is likely toasted as well. Until you get a usable battery, you won't know the condition of the charger, but if you are able to boot with the charger I would assume that its okay.

  • My macbook pro battery will not hold charge

My macbook pro battery will not charge. The laptop will only turn on after it has been plugged in to charge, and when unplugged it automatically dies. When plugged in the battery indicator is green and the top right corner of the screen says "Not charging". I left town for a week with the laptop off and I came back in town and it won't charge. What can I do to fix this?

If you are under warranty call Apple and get a case number.

  • Computer does not recognize, will not hold charge - please HELP!

My 1.5 year old iPod mini no longer holds charge. I have restored it twice. Although it charges on my computer (it can take anywhere from 3 hours to 24 hours to do so) it constantly goes from half full to dead. I can restart it and use it, but it dies constantly and the battery jumps.
Is this a completely useless item? Any change of saving it?
    Tips?
    mini   Windows XP

Do you have an AC charger you can try? Computer ports
are not always reliable ways to charge iPods.
What do you mean by "the battery jumps?" Have you
recalibrated the meter? Reset your iPod in addition
    to the restore?
    See The
iPod Battery Unplugged for more things to try.

I do have an AC adaptor. I can try that.
The battery jumps from 3/4 full, to a message that there is not enough battery power, to dead, as soon as I turn it on. This continues after I turn it on again, several times during use. Eventually (after about an hour or two of constantly interrupted use) it dies randomly and won't turn on.
Any simple instructions on how to calibrate the battery? I'm not very saavy.
Not sure if I have been resotoring or reseting. Whatever I do empties the memory of the ipod entirely, wipes out my settings and it starts over again.
    Thanks so much for responding.
ANYTHING you can do to help me save my ipod would be amazing!

  • Battery will not hold charge but macbook turns on

    hello!
as of today, my macbook will not charge (it displays an (X) for the battery icon). However, when I removed the battery and placed it into another macbook, it worked just fine... even when I tried my other working macbook battery on the non-working macbook, it did not work. So we know for a fact the battery is not the issue, it has something to do with the macbook itself. it will work if you use the charger cable, but will turn off if you unplug it. any suggestions? its a late 2007 model. one idea I have is reinstalling the OS.
    thank you!

  • Ipod 5G will not hold charge after 1.3 update

using itunes to update my 5th Gen Ipod to v1.3 last week, I am now unable to get the ipod to hold a charge.
when connecting normally, displays the message "please wait - very low battery"
and every so often it will attempt to reboot showing the apple icon (no backlight) but then goes back to the message again.
using the other suggestions to get to disk mode, itunes and Windows will recognize it, allowing it to sync.
When connected to wall adapter, it shows the fully charged symbol in the center of the screen.
Able to play songs/video only when connected to wall charger or car charger.
as soon as I disconnect it from a power source/usb, the battery indicator will quickly go down.
    -Win XP platform
-tried 2 alternate computers with good USB ports
-directly connnectd to USB (no hubs)
-tried the select-menu / play-menu combination (discussed in other topics)
-able to get ipod to sync with itunes only by going into disk mode
Former discussions indicate possible battery problem.
My concern is that it conveniently happened immediately after an update.
Therefore, leading me to think it has to do more with the update confusing the ipod's battery memory.

I had my iPod on my alarm clock today playing music and decided to try something different to get it to work..
I put it on hold before taking it off the dock. When I took it off, it showed a full charge. Skeptical, I turned it off and back on multiple times and still it showed a full charge! However, when I reset it using the middle & menu buttons, I saw the same low battery image and now I'm back to square one.
I know I'm probably going to have to buy a new battery, but I really don't think any of us should because this was obviously an error on Apple's part and if anything THEY should be the ones compensating for a new battery. I'm going to avoid buying a new one until I hear word from them about this because it's not right at all. For now, I'm going to have to stick to listening to it on its dock or with my car charger.

  • 80GB iPod Battery Will Not Hold Charge

I have owned an 80GB iPod since September. I have had no previous problems except for it resetting on certain mono audio files while the EQ was on. Turning the EQ off fixed that.
But tonight I plugged the iPod into the power adapter to charge, came back 5 hours later and it said 'Charged', unplugged it, began using it, and within 2 min it reported a low battery and then died. I plugged it back into the power adapter and it began to charge. It charged for a few minutes then reported 'Charged', but again it died within two minutes of being unplugged and played. I can watch the battery meter drop. It works fine while plugged in though.
I restored the iPod twice, but it still does it.
Has anyone every heard of a new iPod's battery going dead?
What happened to it? Power surge? It was plugged into a surge protector.
Is there anything else I can try before I send it back to Apple?

I just spoke with them as well. They told me to try charging it from a different source for a good 4 hours then, if it holds the charge, to pick a song and play it on repeat and see if it will last around 20 hours. She said if it doesn't to visit: depot.info.apple.com/ipod and they would send me a box to send it back for a new one (mine has engraving too). She said the box would arrive in 1 business day, the test and replacement (if it's broken) would take 4 days with a few extra for personalization. So about a week. Still ***** though.

  • Battery will not hold charge (at all)

I've had my ipod Nano (2nd gen) for less than a year. After a week or two of not using it, I tried to turn it on, but the battery appeared to be completely dead. So, I charged it, and when the indicator showed that the ipod was fully charged, I disconnected it from my computer. Immediately, the screen turned off, and there was no way to turn it back on. It still operates fine if I keep it plugged into my computer. But, as soon as it loses the power source, it just dies. I've tried a full restore several times. I've tried resetting it several times. I've tried charging it on several different computers. Nothing helps.
The device is still under warranty until July, but I just found out it will cost me $50 to send it in! Or, I could go to an Apple Store, which is over an hour away.
So, let me get this straight. I buy a device with a year warranty (limited, which is painfully obvious now), which turns out to be a dud, and Apple wants more money to fix it?
After 3 ipods that all have died untimely deaths...I can honestly say I'll never buy another Apple product again.

I just had to post a followup. I decided to visit the apple store in Laval, to see if I could get the nano fixed. When I showed up at the store, I was told that I needed to make an appointment for support, and to come back the next day. I was welcomed to wait to see if there was a 'no show', in which case they would be able to help. An appointment for support? When I asked how long that might take, the response was "Well, it could be all night". Then I asked if it's normal that all 3 ipods I've purchased have died within a year. The response was "well, there is no way that we can account for how people use their ipods, and the resulting battery usage". Um, I listen to music on it...like everyone else?
The staff at that store had the opportunity to make a customer happy in that one moment, and perhaps change my opinion about Apple's product quality and support. Unfortunately, my negative opinion is now only amplified.

  • Ps4 Controller will not 'hold' charge

My Ps4 controller is only usable while plugged in using the usb... Now I've looked online a bit and found similar but non corrected issues. Even while plugged in it sometimes cuts out continuously, and obviously i have to keep turning it back on. Clearly thats a problem when in multiplayer. Did i forget to mention, i just got a brand new controller yesterday and that same annoying thing happens... Oh, and as soon as i remove the USB cable, it turns off as it doesn't 'hold' the power. I suspect its the cable? Any suggestions or ideas?

I tried a phone charger usb and it works? But thats not the ps4 thing soo is my old 1 broken or something

  • Zire 71 will not hold charge, resets every time taken off the cradle

I just got a Palm Zire 71 at a garage sale and when I got it home I tried to charge it and try it out. It seemed like it was going to work just fine until I took it off the cradle. When taken off the cradle it goes off and won't turn back on and when I put it back on the cradle it goes through its initial setup procedure. I even made sure that it had several hours on the cradle before trying anything with it. I am wondering if it is just a bad battery. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Certainly sounds like a dead battery to me!

  • IPod battery will not hold charge

I bought an iPod Classic last March and for some reason, even when I charge it for the full 4 hours +, it will show a full charge, but within an hour the battery has drained entirely and is dead. Can anyone help me?
I can't even take it back to the store... I bought it at Circuit City and their chain is obviously gone.

You can take your iPod and the receipt to an Apple store.
