We have some existing processes that use the SAP Business Connector
Is it possible to continue to use the SAP BC after an upgrade to MySAP ERP?

yes, it is possible, below you can find the official SAP statement regarding BC support:
"SAP note 571530:
SAP BC version 4.7 has been unrestrictedly available since June 2, 2003.
SAP makes SAP BC in versions 4.6 and 4.7 available to existing and new
customers according to the license agreement for the SAP BC. For details
of the agreement, see: http://service.sap.com/connectors.
Because the functionalities offered by SAP BC are or will in the short
term be provided by SAP NetWeaver components (for example, web service
functionality by SAP Web AS, IDoc conversion to an XML message by SAP
XI), no new version will be developed beyond version 4.7.
SAP will continue to provide new service releases (SR), bugfixes etc.
via http://service.sap.com/sbc-download for both versions, 4.6 and 4.7
of SAP BC.
SAP BC runs only on specific operating systems and JDK versions, see SAP
note 309834 about SAP BC implementation for more details. Note that it
is the responsibility of the customer to meet these requirements.

Source system icons changes when connecting SAP BW to mySAP ERP 2004

Hi,
Just an Interesting observation in relation to the creation of source systems in SAP BW to SAP Web AS 6.40 based systems (mySAP ERP 2004, mySAP SRM, etc).
I thought it would be interesting to share!
The behavior is logical but can be a surprise for a BW administrator who is not aware of the new internal SAP BW systems within mySAP ERP 2004.
Scenario:
The customer was connecting a stand-alone BW system to two new systems with latest and greatest mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.00) and mySAP SRM.
Observation:
In the past the SAP R/3 source system would be created with a "SAP R/3 icon" indicating a SAP Source system.
As of mySAP ERP 2004, the source systems will be created in the SAP BW standalone system with the "SAP BW System icon".
Note: This is also the same behavior for new releases of mySAP SRM, and other SAP applications that are based on SAP Web AS 6.40 or greater
Why?:
The standalone SAP BW system is connecting to a system that contains an internal SAP BW system. The standalone SAP BW system determines that it is possible to extract both from the internal BW System and from the Plug-in extractors. It simply denotes that this source system is a SAP BW system and uses the BW Source system icon. (Remember SAP BW is client independent*!).
Note: This behavior will still occur even if you do not use the internal SAP BW system within mySAP ERP! It is there whether you use it or not.
Second Note: You can still use the ERP Content extractors from the mySAP ERP Source System as you did in prior releases.
Another related observation:
I would expect that this case will probably be true even if you only use the internal SAP BW.
Scenario: You use the internal SAP BW in another client in the mySAP ERP system than your ERP processing.
Result: The connection between the BW client and the ERP client source system(s) (i.e. client 001 for ERP, client 100 for BW), both the 'myself' and ERP client source systems, will show up as BW source systems!
Source system 001 and source system 100 will be displayed as SAP BW icons because SAP BW is client independent*
user master and authorizations are client dependent

Anothre window pops up : "Check RFC connection" and it asks
'RFC connection already exists in source system . Do you want to check, use or cancel source system connection'
Here I select Use - but i get an error : Error in source system'.
how can i track down this error.

For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....
Click on Search
Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

Is there any documentation which gives a step by step configuration for the SAP E-commerce for mySAP ERP. I am looking for some thing similar to the C14 Best practices document which give the detailed configurations (including XCM ) for CRM E - Commerce.

Upgrading ISA 4.0 to "SAP E-Commerce for mySAP ERP"

We currently have a Internet Sales (R/3 edition) environment connected to a R/3 4.6C backend. We are upgrading the backend to mySAP ERP 2005. This has necessitated an upgrade of the Internet Sales environmet, too.
Has anyone does this or had any experience with the ISA side of this upgrade?
Currently the ISA 4.0 environment is running on a NW2004 SR1 framework with a SAP Web AS JAVA 6.40 (J2EE 6.40, too).
I know after this upgrade is completed, my environment will change to the following...(I think)
Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) will become "SAP E-Commerce for mySAP ERP"
NW2004 will become NW2004s SR1
J2EE 6.40 will become J2EE 7.00
I guess I'm looking for anyone who has been through this type of upgrade and how best to tackle it (aside from looking at the upgrade guides).
What to watch for? What to double-check? Anything noteworthy would be of value to me.
Should I even bother running through the upgrade process or should I just flatten the environment and start over with installation media?? Is that path easier and less of a pain?
I'm open for any feedback or thoughts.....

Error in Accessign mySAP ERP from SAP WAS J2ee Engine

Hi all,
I have installed some applications on SAP WAS Java System SP17. When i am trying to access the mySAP ERP system from that Application, it is giving the following error
>(103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: System received an expired SSO ticket
My ERP and WAS are on different Windows Domains. I have SSO and done the trust configurations and imported the Certificate on to mySAP ERP. I also increased the Lifetime of the SAP Logon ticket, but that also didnt work. In one of the documents i found that both the systems need to be in the same OS time.
1. How can i bring my ERP server and WAS on to same OS time?
(net time/set does not work since these machines are in different domains)
Or is there some other solution to this problem,Please help me

as long as the timezones are maintained correctly, the time DISPLAYED may be different, again it is GMT, which is required to be in sync. Looking at IST, do you mean Indian, Israelien or Irelend stadnard time ? (see <a href="http://www.timegenie.com/timezones.php">a list of timezones</a> for details). In any case, 4 hours seams odd to me, should be either
India: 4:30 hour
Ireland: 1 hour
Israel: 1 hour
can you please make sure, your systems are synced to GMT somehow, for instance using timeservices ?
From your name, I would guess you might sit in India, in which case at least one of your system is misconfigured (timewise) if they are 4 hours away.
Countries today 4 hours away from CET would either be

mySAP ERP includes function available in SAP R/3 Enterprise and additional functionalities and entire functional areas: Analytics, Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM), Financial Supply Chain Management, etc.
mySAP ERP also contains the complete SAP NetWeaver platform; SAP R/3 Enterprise includes a subset of SAP NetWeaver, the SAP Web Application Server

SAP R/3 is package which is available in different versions 3.1i,4.6c,4.7. mySAP ERP 2004 i.e. ECC 5.0 and mySAP ERP 2005 i.e. ECC 6.0 are advanced versions of SAP R/3.

Need some clarity on e-Commerce 5.0 for mySAP ERP

Digging through the documentation I can find, I still can't make sufficient sense as to what, exactly, is required to get e-Commerce 5.0 for mySAP ERP up and running. If we have an ECC 6.0 backend (ABAP stack only), what needs to be put into place? From what I've heard it's supposed to be a pretty quick and simple thing to get up and running, but the documentation I've found so far just muddies the water quite a bit!

Installation mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux SuSe 10

Hello,
I tried to install mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux Suse 10 with 8 GB RAM and enough harddisk space (6 x 250 GB) as a central system. But the Installations stops always in the "Import Abap" step with jobs:
running 3 , wating 22 , completed 13, failed 0 , total 38
No errors are written to the logfiles and there is no progress in the installation, so I have to stop it manually.
Can anyone help me?

Hello Kaan,
the SEM 3.5 exam is simply based on an older version. You should take the mySAP ERP 2004 exam (or 2005 once this comes out). The BPS functionality has changed only marginally so it's not really a different, but it's nicer to have a recent certification of course
