SAP BI - Information Broadcast through E-mail.

Hello,
I am facing issue with information broadcasting.
I set up a Broadcast setting,
1) Distribution type: Broadcast Email
2) Output format: MHTML as Zip file
3) Variable assignment: determine here
4) Filter navigation: No filter
5) scheduled monthly
When i broadcast the report, the user receives the e-mail with the Zip file.
But when he open the file he is not able to see the data (though there is data in the system)

> user (user receives the email but cannot see data)
This occurs for different users. But the user in the past has received e-mail with data.
Please help me in understanding this.

Have you checked the SAP Notes mentioned below:
Note 958314 Broadcasting: Limitations for the MHT format
772246 Display of MHTML mail incorrect
Also, it would be advisable to run the support desktool from Note 937697. If you find any RED errors, try to correct them using the suggestions given (see right-hand side). This checks the communication configuration between systems and platforms and may highlight errors which would affect the broadcasting of emails.

Hello Experts.
This time we have a project to distribute customer data using the Information Broadcast by E-Mail (Bursting).
So far it works with Queries and Web Templates, but the functions to create the text for the mail body are not enough.
The "Text Variables" do not contain information about the content of the Query, for example:
"Dear Ladies and Gentlemen" is not enough for us to post the E-Mail to the customers we have to do it dynamically like "Dear Mr. ".
Furthermore we have to send the E-Mail as a copy to the corresponding account manager and there is no "CC" field while bursting.
Is it possible to "extend" the functionality with u201Cself madeu201D Text Variables or customer exits or anything else?

Facing problem in Information broadcasting through BI 7.0

Hi,
I am facing problem in Information broadcasting through BI 7.0
In Web Bex Anyalzer, i selected the information bradcasting via Email.
I did all setting for Information bradcasting, in the output Format, when I select the output format as HTML or MHTML the system gives is error when i click the excute button after scheduling .
It gives an Shot DUMP on "MESSAGE_TYPE_X"
And in WEB BEX Analyzer follwing are error messages

Dear SAP Gurus,
I'm new to SAP-BI, I came across the following situation:
I've a query based on which the reports are being generated.
My client wants to broadcast it every month, as they don't have any portal, so it has to be done through e-mail.
the query has 3 system variable which are FISCALYEAR and CALDAY, i dont remember 3rd.
So, I've to create DYNAMIC VARIANT, I tried the following procedure but its not working.

1. What you need is dynamic filling the variant value.
2. In transaction SE38 enter the variant name
3.choose the attributes button.
4. Here you can set the field to u201Cselection variable.u201D
5.Then you can define something like SY-DATUM(4) for fiscal year and in the same way for calday SY-DATUM+6(2) .

Including the Trigger Event Data Change (for Broadcaster) process type in process chains that load data allows you to process broadcast settings when data is changed. The Trigger Event Data Change (for Broadcaster) process type is added to the data load processes. In this process type, you can choose the changed InfoProvider for which information broadcasting can be triggered.
The end users that have created settings for precalculation and distribution in the BEx Broadcaster can specify when scheduling their broadcast settings that the precalculation and distribution be executed whenever there is a data change in the InfoProvider on which the scheduled BI object (query, query view, Web template, report, or workbook) is based.

BEx Broadcasting through e-mail

Dear Gurus,
I have a situation where, we are supposed to broadcast reports every month to the users e-mail.
Report has to be broadcasted to different users with different Cost Centers .
I have 3 selections for the report of which 2 selections are populated through CMOD and one is user i/p.
We dnt have EP so this has to be done through BEX .

I also face same situation in my past project, We can broadcast BEx Report to user.
1. Inform Basis team to includ yours and User's Mail ID in their there BW ID using SU01
2. Then tell Basis to do necessory configuration to Broadcast report using SICF and SCOT transaction.

Information Broadcast - how to get options for process chains?

Hi,
I try to find out why I do not get the options to trigger the information broadcast through the process chain.
Every time I try to schedule an information broadcast, I only see the option to schedule the broadcast by time only.
I tried by creating/activating a process chain and many more ways - with no success in seeing the desired options.
Who could help and tell how I get the option "Scheduling Set" / "Execution with Data Change in the InfoProvider"? Do I need some add. piece of software?

Information Broadcasting - Work book Variant selection

Hi Team,
We are working on implementing the Information broadcasting through Process chains. We have configured the Broadcaster setting through RSRT (using ABAP Web). We have sample workbook created in order to broadcast the same via., PC.
The challenge is we have Date field as Mandatory in Query (corresponding workbook) and during BEx Broadcaster setting we have set a default value to it. Whenever the PC runs it picks the default values from the setting. As per the required to has to pick the latest system date in this field before broadcasting to users.
Do we have any option to achieve it? To automate the report variable to pull the latest system date.

Information Broadcaster with variants

Hi All,
We have to send workbooks via Information Broadcaster to e-mail recipients. So, the recipients should receive the data for a special variant of an excel workbook. So, I have to create a variant in the information broadcaster to manage the distribution.
So, we have app. 200 recipients with 200 variants. Is there any possibility to create the variants automatically via BAPI or something else. Or has anyone an creative idea to fix the claim.

Dear Shanbagavalli,
As you are sending the file specific to a person and that too on his/her mail then what is the need of password protected file, could you please elobrate?
There is a work around, Zip files can be password protected so you can send these files to your mail Id first and from there put a password protection the zip file and send to the users.

Issue with Information broadcasting and pre-cal server in SAP BI

Hi Experts,
I have issue with information Broadcasting and Pre-cal server. I have a worrkbook whcih runs from information broadcasting in pre-cal server. Workbook is desinged on single query and workbook contains visual basic code. workbook has a variable which is controlled by Control query in information broadcasting.
I have 20 employees every month I need to send workbook via e-mail from information broadcasting. The problem is sometimes all 20 employees will recieve e-mails and sometimes not. I identified there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
because after workbook calculation in pre-cal server is not pushing to SOST so there is something wrong in workbook or in pre-cal server.
I closely observed pre-cal server front end log. There are few operations performing on workbook in pre-cal server
like Open workbook, Calculate workbook, Save woorkbook and close workbook. In success case pre-cal sever is performing all the operations but in failure case pre-cal server is missing Close workbook case.

Thank you very much for the reply
I went into RSPRECADMIN and clicked on 'Display Current Queue'. There we have 3 sections
1) Queue Overview of Open Precalculations
I can see this section is always blank after running IB also
2) Queue Overview of Current Precalculations
In this section I can see an entry after running IB and duration is changing. but some time workbook in this section will never processed but the duration column is changing may be something is happening at this stage.
If the entry is not proccessed in this section and IB SM37 job will never end. I manually cancelled the job from SM50.
Don't why the workbook is taking long time and will never end even though I cancelled the SM37 IB job.
3) Queue Overview of Proccessed Error-Free Precalculations
All the error free workbooks which means all pre-cal server completed workbook calculation and sent to SOST.
I manually ran the workbook for all the 20 employees I can't find any pop-up message (earlier we have pop-up windows appearing because of VB code and when report returns no data and we fixed the pop-up issues)
Can you please help me further to trace the error.

Information Broadcasting in SAP BI 7.3

We have a requirement to send a report to few recipients through Information Broadcasting in .CSV file. When I entered Info Broadcast setting through BEx analyzer, I am not able to find the option to send the file in .CSV format. I could only see MHTML, HTML and Links to current data. Could you please help me out in solving this?

Unfortunately it is only possible to broadcast with the output format CSV with a query or query view. That is by design.

I want to create a VARIANT in SAP BI 7.0 Which is to be used in information broadcasting. I found One Document Named as "Variant Creation In SAP BI to be used in Information Broadcasting.pdf",in SDN Forums. I Couldn't able to Understand the Given Steps in it.
Could any one of You Please send me the Procedure how to create a Variant.I should also see the "Determine from Variants" button in Work book precalculation Tab,which i am not able to see it currently under "Workbook Precalculation".

Even I have gone through the SDN document. It is clearly explained step by step. If you follow the same document thoroughly you will be able to see Determine From Variants radio button properly.

Mail not coming with information broadcasting scheduling

dear all,
when i execute directly the setting for information broadcasting a mail is being sent but when i schedule the same setting in transaction SOST it is showing warning 'waiting for communication service'.how to remove that.
