SAP Business One Development Environment Install

Hi there,
I'm new to SAP Business One and this forum. I'm trying to install the SAP Business One Development Environment on a Windows Server 2003 with VS 2008 and am receiving an error code of 2869. I've entered a 3 character namespace as suggested in another post, but this does not fix the problem. I have other versions (2003/2005) of Visual Studio installed on the same server. Would this cause a problem? Any other ideas?
My goal is to talk to an SAP Business One Server from an external .Net application. Am I using the right tool?

Hi,
I am having hard time installatin the SDK (B1DESetup_2.1)..
I always get the same error:
The installer has encountered an unexpected error... The error core id 2869.
I am running it on a Windows 7 laptop and I tried to run it as admin and also using the compatibility mode
I do not have SAP B1 installed locally (I do not have any copy of it)
IAt the end, what I want to achieve id to develop an interface module to exchange data between my application and SAP B1 using SAP DI APIs

The quick story is that we are developping an interface for a customer who have SAP B1 installed...
We do not have SAP B1 installed locally.
We need to develop using this DI API and we will test with the customer SAP B1server.
So at the end, the quiestion is is it possible for me to develop using the interop.SAPBobsCOM.dll API only... I will connect to my customer SAP B1 using VPN...?

Business one development environment bug

I am using business one development environment version 1.3 with visual studio 2005 and have also been using version 1.1 with visual studio 2003. After using the wizard to help you include the necessary files of your add on project and you have clicked finished it creates for you .ard and .exe files. The thing is when you try edit the project later and build it or run it the add on does not execute, i explored and found out that the .exe file is re-created but the .ard is not when you build therefore rendering both useless.
Anyone who has encountered this before? What help is there, since i cannot customize my add on installer forms?

Hi Duncan,
The B1DE does not recreate the ard file for you once the installer project has been created. However, it does create a batch file that you can use to easily recreate the ard file after each recompile of your installer project. You should find a subfolder called AddOnRegDataGenFile in the folder where you've created your installer project. Within this folder there is a batch file called AddOnRegDataGen.bat. All you have to do is double-click this file after you've recompiled your installer and it will recreate the ard file for you. This batch file and the accompanying xml file store the properties for your addon that are used in the ard file (eg installation time, version number etc) so you can edit these files if you want to change any properties prior to recreating your ard file.

Delete SAP Business One License to Install another kind of license

Hi everyone,
In our company we are making some test in the SAP Business One 8.81 version.
In our test server we use to have 8.8 with professional license but now we are trying to test 8.81 with Starter Package License.
I delete everything from SAP 8.8 including the previous license, then we install SAP 8.81 but when I try to install the Starter Package License the system show a warning which say Cannot mix B1STARTER with other SAP License.
Can anyone help me with this?
I need to test this new kind of license but I don't know what to do to install it correctly.

All B1 licenses are available here :
C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One ServerTools\License
you can delete all previous version licenses there. The file name is to delete is B1LicenseFile-00202xxxxx. After delete, you can import B1 starter license.
If not succeed, you must request new license of B1 8.81 to partner.

No SAP Business One Application was found

Hi,
I have created the add-on. When i try to start the add-on it is displaying following message.
"No SAP Business One Application was found". and i am not able to start the add-on.
I have used the connection as given below. I have also declared the connection in the command line.
In the development enveiroment it is working fine. So i have generated the ard file. When i try to start the ard file it is displaying the following message "No SAP Business One Application was found".
Please let me know how can solve this problem.

As regard to php sample, sorry we don't such sample so far.
Per php, I recommend you to B1WS, a web service wrapper of DI Server for only those 45 services objects. You can download B1WS here: SDK Tools Download:

From technical perspective, DI Server is based DCOM technology, I am not sure it is natively supported php. So you may think about wrapping DI server as web server with ASP.net, just like B1WS. php<=>web server<=>DI server

SAP Business One 8.8 Developer License

Hi,
I am relatively new to SAP but has years of experience has a developer. I would like to develop competencies on SAP Business One 8.8 (or the latest version) to enable me deploy, consult and develop add ons for the platform.
I would like to aquire a single developer's license that would enable me install the solution and the SDK on my laptop and also download the solutions.
I do not have a SAP business Partner account or access to the market place. I am also interested in books on the subject but I only got a book on SAP Business One 2005 edition.
I would appreciate any advise or assistance on this.

Installing SAP Business One 8.8

Hello people,
I cant install SAP Business One Server in the Database UserID and Database Password i dont know what to put in I installed MYSQL Server 2005 .. I read in the internet that the default one is sa and the default password is B1Admin but everytime i type it in it says "The Connection to the specified server has failed..Check your password and that the server exist on the network".
I tried making another login in the SQL Server Management Studio Express.. But when i put it in the Database UserID and Password it says the error.I dont know what to do next i tried google but SAP B1 Opensource installation is no where to be found even in youtube.

Trying to install SAP Business One 8.8 on a clean Windows 7 professional pc

Hi, i am trying to install SAP Business One V 8.8 on a clean Windows 7 professional laptop. I need to install the server and client sides. I have already installed SQL server express 2005.
When i try to to install the server software I get the error message 1628 installation failed almost straight away. I ket the same message if I try and install the server tools, SBo server or outlook integration.
What am I doing wrong?

Solution to Problem ID :1618
Try the following Steps :
1. Clear the 'Temporary' Folder of Windows 7 : Start ->Run->%temp%->Press 'Enter'->Select All & Delete
2. Restart your machine. (This is Must)
Actually it keeps an image of the previous installations, so always for re-installation you need to perform this steps.
Same is with Win 2008 Server editions also.
Now proceed with the installation and remember always run SBO installations in Windows 7 and 2008 Server by clicking on 'Run as Administrator'
Hope your problem would be solved.

Can different cluster of SAP Business One installed on the same Server

Can anyone tell me if B1 different cluster version installed and run on the same server. Example B1 2005A AND B1 2005B. If it can, could you please include the procedure how can it be done.

No, A and B have different patch cycles - so there would be conflicts in SBO-Common. Therefore it will not work.
You could try to workaround that with named instances of MSSQL, but installation & update would need additional care + workarounds.
The best way to combine 2 SAP Business One cluster "servers" but still on one hardware would be to use a tool like VMWare... - but such a configuration has not been released by SAP - i.e. if there's an issue that could be traced back to the VMWare system, SAP might not be (li?)able to fix it

BTW: Please note that you need to think eventually about conflicts with MS licenses. SAP has an agreement with MS which ASFAIK covers the license for 1 VMWare Windows system on 1 Windows PC so that we can use WMWare for SAP Business One sandbox systems - after RAM upgrades () it works fine...

Re-installing SAP Business One

After removing and re-installing SQL Server 2005 and SAP Business One 2005 SP01 with no problems or error-messages I try to install SAP Business One 2005 SP01 again and get to the Installation screen with text:
"One of the following must be successfully installed prior to installation of Business One:
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP3
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.3 GA
IBM DB2 Universal Database 8.2.2 FP5 Express Edition
Server"
and cannot select Typical for installation on my notebook.
It seems that SAP assumes that the SAP Server software has been installed and the SQL Server has not been installed, while the Software list on the Configuration screen mentions the SQL Server, but does not mention the installation of the SAP Business One Server software.
How can I correct this situation? A remove and re-install does not change anything.

1) Do you still have the "SQL Server Agent (Agent XPs disabled)" error ?
2) Are you sure you installed SQL in the default instance and not a named instance ?
If SQL Server found another instance already on the computer it will not install with the default instance but with a named instance.
The named instance can be accessed by following "\name_of_the_instance" after the computer name, but not only the computer name.
To be sure, you can see the installed instances by reading the content of "InstalledInstances" in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\
(use regedit)
3) Have you ever used a firewall that you uninstalled ou kill not cleanly ?
For example, if you autorize sqlserver.exe in ZoneAlarm, then disabled the start of zonealarm, your sqlserver.exe can be accessed but if you reinstall it, the new sqlserver.exe will not. The only way is then to restart zonealarm and autorize the new sqlserver.exe
4) Have you tried to make an ODBC connection to your SQL Server ?
5) Have you tried to choose "sql server" instead of "sql server 2005" when installing Business One ?
