SAP BW AS porting

Dear Experts,
We have an Application Server (SAP BW 3.1c) on AIX (p570) 5.2 and the DB Server DB2 on z/os (z990). We have created a new partition on p570 and in it we have installed AIX 5.3. Now we want to transfer in it the SAP BW 3.1C Application Server which is on previous partition with AIX 5.2. How can we proceed? Is it possible to proceed with the copy of all filesystems of AIX 5.2 partition?
Best regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,
As its only the application server that your are trying to move, I believe copying the application server (kernel) files (/usr/sap/<SID>, /sapmnt/<SID> and mount /usr/sap/trans) across to the new partition and changing the hostname of the new partition to the old one should be sufficient.
Also, database connectivity has to be taken care of, I am not familier with DB2 setup.
Do you have a test partition to do test this activity?
You can also upgrade the 1st partition from AIX 5.2 to 5.3, if the goal to run SAP application server on AIX 5.3.
Cheers,
Nisch

  • How to copy/send text file from FTPS to SAP ECC File Port

    Hi Frdns,
I am working on one design, actually my requirement as follows
I am receiving financial information document from Banks, which is in the form of BIA2 message format, it looks like text file. This information needs to be sending to SAP ECC system.
I identified some approaches to full fill the requirement
1)Using Conversion agent/or third party tools to convert BIA2 message in to XML, then using PI I will pick up the XML message, convert it in to IDoc.
2)Without any conversion I will copy the same file (original BIA2 message) in to SAP ECC file port, in this case no conversion required, calling some program I will schedule it.
I am looking forward t implement the second approach because it saves lot of money to my client.
Now I am wondering using File adapter can i copy to SAP ECC File Port or I required ABAP proxy?
What is the best approach to copy the BIA message text file from FTPS to SAP ECC File Port.??
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Raja,
    >>Now I am wondering using File adapter can i copy to SAP ECC File Port or I required ABAP proxy?
Yes you can do this copy, the only restriction that can happen is the file size.. If you are sure that the fiel will be of few MB at the max then you can use the Configuration part alone and copy it to ECC folder. For doing this you need the following:
    1. Sender agreement (mention the sender interface as anything XYZ)
    2. Sender communication channel. Pick the file in binary mode
    3. Receiver determination (keep both the sender and receiver service as same)
    4. Interface Detemiantion (dont specify any mapping and keep the receiver interface name as XYZ)
    5. Create receiver agreement (with same service and interface)
    6. Use file adapter here

  • SAP sys id port definitions

    Hi all,
In the receiving and sending port for an IDoc we have the concatenation of SAP with system id.
This is supposeldy a port hence I was wondering why we cannot see its definition in WE21 ?
And how does a system decide whether the destination/receiving port exist or not if not defined in WE21 ...
Please guide .. looked in ?BD64 also but no help
    Regards,
    Sugopa

    Hello,
I don't know IDOC, but that I know, SAP listen the port of : 30 + ID number. For exemple if you are the ID 01, your SAP will listen 3001.
    Try  telnet sap_host 30xx

  • SAP J2EE Admin Port 50011, 99% it stops

    Hi,
We have installed EP6 SP2, we tried to apply the patch for that we tried to connect to SAP J2EE Admin through port 50011, it goes till 99% and stays there. We are not able to apply the patch because of this.
Any thoughts on this or suggestions will help us.
    Thanks
    Senthil

    Login is : "Administrator"
    Password :
Hostname : Specify the proper host name out here
    Port number :50004
Refer Victor's note on how the port is calculated.  This assumes that your portal is installed on 50000, http://hostname:50000/irj should give you the portal home page. Are you able to login here?  On what basis did you choose 50011?
Again there is no need for a password.  If you are still not able to login, check your installation.

  • Sendmail & SAP SMTP have port conflict !

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I am in process of configuring inbound & outbound Email in my ERP system. Now the problem is we have sendmail running on Port 25 on the host where SAP installed.
Because of this i can not start my SAP SMTP service on port 25. If i start on 25000 outgoing working fine but incoming not working at all.
Can we configure sendmail to listen on port 25 and forward all those mails to SAP's port 25000 ?
I dont have much knowledge of sendmail so very confused.
Any idea !!! How to resolve this ?
    Thnx

    Folks,
I had the same problem, and the issue was that the following file in the kernel was not having the proper permissions, so you need to update permissions of icmbnd file in kernel to 4750 and owner as root.
Then you need to disable sendmail on the server on which port 25 needs to be used by SAP.
Use the command "./sendmail stop" to disable sendmail (cd /etc/rc.d)
Finally try to activate SMTP through smicm tcode.
    It worked for me.
    thanks!

  • Change SAP MC default port

Can anyone tell me how to change the default port (5xx13) for SAP MC?    That port is already in use on our system and so the SAP MC java applet cannot connect.
    Thanks!
    Kirsten

    Hi Kirsten,
As far as I know, the SAP MC uses the same port as the sapstartsrv service port.
By default the service uses ports:
          5$(SAPSYSTEM)13 for http
5$(SAPSYSTEM)14 for https (if SSL is configured for the instance),
And this might be overwriten in etc/service file by specifying:
          sapctrl$(SAPSYSTEM)
          sapctrls$(SAPSYSTEM)
    Check SAP note 936273.

  • OIM SAP UM Connector gateway port configuration

    Hi All,
On SAP Target System, port for gateway communication is not the default 3300, but 3301. How do I go about configuring OIM to establish connection on 3301 instead of 3300?
    Thanks in advance
    Edited by: user13015045 on Aug 31, 2011 3:24 PM

    Hello 790345,
    You said:
There is a variable on SAP called "SYSTEM NUMBER". it takes two digit value .eg : 01.
port number is derived for that system number. so from above example gateway port will be (33<system number>) i.e., 3301
If I understand correctly, this variable SYSTEM_NUMBER is on SAP system side (target).
How about on OIM SAP connector side (source)? have you managed to make it connect to 3301 instead of 3000?
If yes, how did you do it?
    Thanks,
    Adr.

  • How to change Port for SAP Client on SAP R/3 Server?

The defualt port for SAP GUI Client is 3200.
How could I change the SAP GUI Client port to say 5222 instead of 3200?
How can I view the full list of all ports required by SAP R/3?

    Freddy,
I don't have the document handy but there was a document on service.sap.com/security which would give you a list of all the ports. SAP's wording is some thing like "specific ports are fixed and SAP does not support changing that port number".
In case of GUI client and your example of 3200, as you know 00 is based on the fact that that is your instance number. You could change last two numbers by assigning a different instance number (and not 00).
    Thanks

  • How to fetch data from a SAP BW Cube via Perl/PHP on a Linux machine?

    Hi all,
    here's the scenario:
I need to fetch data from a cube of a remote SAP NetWeaver 7.  The data will later be used in a web application based on  Linux and  Perl/PHP. (I'd prefer using perl for the backend and doing the business logic of the web application.)
    I have:
A Linux system with all its on-board tools and scripting languages.
A user for the SAP BW which allows me to logon (very, very limited user rights, no se37,no se80,no rsaX and so on)
Access to http://<SAP BW Server>:<Port>/sap/bw/xml/soap/xmla with the above mentioned user.
    My questions:
    - Could you please push me into the right direction how I can realize this? E.g. by pointing to tutorials / HowTos / sample code / CPAN modules etc..  (Most information I found so far referred to software based on a different operating system and on remote function calls using custom functions.)
    - I'm aware of the  SAPNW::RFC CPAN module, but do I necessarily have to perform a remote function call? ( If so, is there a "standard" function I could call for accessing a cube?)
    Thanks a lot in advance!

You can take through the RFCS .check for some system function modules...but why do you need to route it through XI?How huge z the files?

  • Upgrade project : from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 by using SAP Data Services

    Hi All,
My client is upgrading from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0
We are planning to use SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in the upgrade plan from SAP R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 for Data Migration.
we have no idea whether we can use this SAP Data Services(Data Integrator) in SAP upgrade data migration.
The bottom line is we have to make use this Data Services (Data Integrator) product in our upgrade plan for Data Migration.
Please tell us if anybody already used it such kind of scenario in a data migration project with Data Services(Data Integrator).
If we can use Data Service(Data Integrator) what are the pros and cons in using this Data Services(Data Integrator).
    Thank You,
    Ashok

My opinion is you would want to utilize SAP tools to port the data - our SAP BASIS administrator is out this week but we can provide exact tool names when he returns.  ELM (External List Management), IDOC are some of the tools.
You could use DS/DI to export, cleanse, deduplicate the records prior to importing with SAP tools if that is your end goal.
We also offer a data quality tool that extends DS/DI to cleanse/deduplicate name/address records as they are entered into the system.  It also comes with batch tools to cleanse/dedup the entire systems name/address information.  See Data Quality Management for SAP for further details.

  • Web Dispatcher Not forwading XML document to SAP XI

    Hi Everyone,
We have a web dispatcher that is accepting an HTTP Post over SSL and forwarding this connection to our SAP XI system. Our client post to the box and we see the ssl information in the log and then a string of information about connecting to our J2EE Engine where XI resides.

  • SAP ISU(EpH 4) integration with MDUS using SAP PI 7.0

    Hello Everyone,
As I am newbie to all this, I have been doing R&D to achieve the Integration between our SAP ISU and MDUS. Here is what I have already done.
Establish the link between SAP ECC and SAP PI Server (Ports, RFCs, etc.)URL: Connection Settings between ECC and PI system - Process Integration - SCN Wiki
SFW5: Switched the Utilities Component On
SPRO: Define Advance meter capabilities and Activation Groups
Imported the AMI related components IS-UT 604 to the IR
Defined Landscape, Technical and Business Systems
Here are the challenges I am facing and where I need your help.
How do I configure a scenario (e.g. Remote Disconnect) in PI, I will be very happy for step by step instructions
How do I configure that If I Disconnect the Device in ISU, a service call is generated in ISU which will flow from ECC -> PI Server -> MDUS and how do we test it?
How do I check if the call has reached PI Server? I mean there must be some logging like ABC Application requested for XYZ Service.
Your help is much appreciated. It is much like connecting the pieces yet unknown to me. Feel free to share if there is any guide or handbook available for a sample AMI Integration Scenario.
    Regards,
    Adil Khalil

    Hi Adil,
Firstly download the Enterprise Services for SAP PI  from the service market place, released for the Ehp eg Ehp6 of your back end  ISU system.
    go to the below link
    https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/swdc
Download all the (ES)content related to utilities  XI CONTENT-IS-UT  and load this in your PI system. Once you have these ESR in PI, you will be able to connect your SAP ISU system with the help of a proxy.
    Regards,
    Iqbal

press view log to get more information.
stop the task and continue with it later.

    Hi,
Try the installation after starting all the services of the DB. For example if you have used Oracle as the underlying DB, make sure that the important Oracle Services like OracleOraHome92Agent, OracleOraHome92TNSListener and OracleServiceJ2E are in Started status.
If some other DB, start its services. To start the services go to start - Settings - control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services.

  • SAP Web dispatcher and WebAS 6.20 ?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to configure a standalone SAP Web dispatcher (SWD) to access our WebAS (WAS), but I don't understand how to setup the configurations files.
Currently I can reach the SWD admin via: http://swdhost:81/sap/wdisp/admin/default.html
The WebAS (ABAP) service I want to access is at:
    http://washost/ris
The SWD pfl file looks like this:
    # Profile generated by sapwebdisp bootstrap
    # unique instance number
    SAPSYSTEM = 1
    # Accesssability of Message Servers
    rdisp/mshost = swdhost
    ms/http_port = 80
    # SAP Web Dispatcher Parameter
    wdisp/auto_refresh = 120
    wdisp/max_servers = 100
    wdisp/url_map_location = file://urlprefix.txt
    # SAP Web Dispatcher Ports
    icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=81
    # SAP Web Dispatcher Web Administration
    icm/HTTP/admin_0 = PREFIX=/sap/wdisp/admin,DOCROOT=./admin
    Urlprefix.txt looks like this:
    version 1.0
    PREFIX=%2fRIS%2f&CASE=&VHOST=%2a%3a%2a%3b
Now after reading most of the post in the forum and the docs, I still cant understand how I can "say" to SWD to map http://swdhost:81/ris to http://washost/ris .
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best Regards
    Erik

    Hi Alexander,
Thanks, the ms/http_port parameter was not set in my WAShost, now the SWD can see the WAS
now if I try to reach :
    http://WAShost:81/sap/public/ping , I get a reply from my WAShost.
    but I can't reach http://SWDhost:81/ris or http://SWDhost:81/sap/bc/was/sap/zris
http://WAShost/ris is an alias of http://WAShost/sap/bc/was/sap/zris.
    Anyway thanks already.
    Cheers
    Erik

  • Inbound DESADV IDoc Reciever port issue

    Hi,
We are receiving inbound idoc from gentran and the reciever port is empty when the idoc comes in. This is setting idoc to error status. We checked gentran and confirmed gentran is sending reciever port but on SAP side the port is missing. Is there any way we can verify on SAP side on why the port is missing?

I figured out where the problem is and I fixed it.
