SAP cluster active/active Windows and cluster active/pasive Database

Dear Experts,
I need to know if SAP is restricted to work in an active / active cluster Windows R2 and database cluster with passive / active. Maybe Oracle database.
Maybe they can give me some information on how to do it or tell me if this combination is NOT possible. Maybe Oracle as database.
Please any information you can give me I thank.

Please gothru the Installation guides under http://service.sap/com/instguides for required SAP DVD's and PAM for compatible DB's.
In Node A --> You start with ASCS + SCS installation as below
1.) Central Services Instance for ABAP (ASCS) -- Consists of Msg. service & Enqueue Service (Shared Disk)
2.) Central Services Instance (SCS) -- Consists of Msg. service & Enqueue Service (Should be installed after installation of 1.) (Same Shared Disk)
3.) First Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS) -- This step creates the SAP cluster group on the first MSCS node and adds the ASCS and SCS instance(s) to the SAP cluster group
4.) Database Instance
Node B
5.) Additional Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)
6.) Enqueue Replication Server BOTH NODES, First in NODE A followed by NODE B
7.) Central Instance NODE A-- If you install the central instance on one of the NODE A, make sure that you use a local drive, not a shared drive.
8.) Dialog Instance NODE B-- Same procedure as in NODE A.
When NODE A fails, the ASCS and SCS failsover to NODE B and Dialog instance on NODE B act as CI.

Grant activity 10 (post) and block activity 32 (save) in FBCJ

Hi,
Control access to the transaction FBCJ through the object F_FBCJ. This object has the following activities:
33 = read
02 = change
32 = save
10 = post
06 = delete
36 = extended maintenance
I created a profile "Test" with permission only on activities 33(read), 02(change) and 10(post). I included a user test this profile using the authorization group according SAP note 502096.
When the test did notice that the user cannot perform the activity 10 (post). As I was informed above the activity 10(post) was granted.
I discovered after tests that the user can use the activity 10(post) only when the activity 32(save) is also provided in his profile. It does not meet my needs, because as rule of the company users should only use the activity 10(post). The activity 32(save) not be granted.
In short, I must grant the activity 10(post) to users without granting the activity 32(save).
Note:
What is most strange is that I can do the opposite, that is, give the activity 32(save) and block the activity 10(post). In this case the restriction works correctly.

The cash journal authorization object F_FBCJ allows the administrator to grant detailed authorizations to users. The following activities can be differentiated:
Activity 32: Read and Save cash journal entries
Activity 10: Post cash journal entries
Activity 36: Customizing
Activity 06: Delete cash journal entries
To activate the authorization concept, the administrator has at least to fill the field "Authorization group" in the cash journal customizing transaction FBCJC0. The other steps are the normal ones (regarding profiles).
Did you enter at transaction FBCJC0 the authoristion group for the company code and the cash journal you would like to check authorisations?
I assume authorization group setting is missing. Authorization object "F_FBCJ" must be combined with authorization group for Cash Journal and permitted activity. Please read note 502096 and 546365 (Q & A for [7]) for more details. In addition, please make sure that you generate the authorization profile/the role before testing. Also read notes 304685 and 304984.

In cost centre planning, how an activity independent cost is different from a fixed activity dependent cost? Are not the treatment of the two is same. B/c both ara fixed in nature and do not vary with activity output?

Activity Dependant cost is treated as Variable cost.... When you calculate act price, such costs are only divided by this act type
Activity Independant cost are only for Fixed Costs... These costs are split between all act types of a cost center during Actual Activity Price calculation

Windows 8 Pro (re)Activation Error: 0xC004F074 and 5 things that do not fix it

OK, I bought a used laptop with dual boot Win7x64 / Win8Prox64 in Feb. 2013. Windows 8 booted up and ran just fine for the first six months. I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but I installed Office 2013 in the Windows 8 partition not long ago,
and it seems that after that Windows 8 kept issuing pleas to "activate windows" (but no complaints from Office 2013, which is a HUP installation from my work). On the bottom right side of the screen it now says Windows Pro 8 Build 9200, and on top
of that is the light gray plea to (re) activate Windows. There have been no hardware changes to the laptop.
I finally got annoyed enough this weekend to try to resolve it, without success. Here are the five methods I tried, and the results:
Attempt 1:
go to Control Panel > search Windows Activation > choose Windows Activation
Response:
Windows isn’t activated
Windows can’t be activated right now. Try activating Windows later. If this issue persists, contact your system administrator or technical support department for assistance.
[Activate button]
Activation details
Error Code:
0xC004F074
The Software Licensing Service reported that the product could not be activated. No Key Management Service (KMS) could be contacted. Please see the Application Event Log for additional information.
Pressing the [Activate] button gets you the same response over and over.

All I want to do is (re)activate Windows 8, but it seems to be fighting me all the way. When you try to find the United States toll free number for Windows 8 activation (a la SLUI 4) on the Microsoft Customer Service site, it simply says the software
will provide the phone number.
So here are my questions for the Forum members:
1) Why did Windows 8 unactivate itself?
2) What the heck is Key Management Service as it relates to Windows 8 Pro? My limited interpretation is that like Office 2013, Windows is trying to go to a remote server to verify the license (?).
3) Is the version on this laptop not a standalone version? Is it a bogus or hacked installation, and how can you tell for sure? Could a virus have done this?
4) What is the path of least resistance to fix the activation issue? I don't mind calling MS customer service as a last resort, if needed, but wanted to see if there was anything else I could fix on my end before doing that.

Hi,
It sounds like your computer is trying to access a KMS server for some reason. Are you sure you installed a MAK-key on your computer?
For further troubleshooting regarding eventual KMS-issues, please give us (masked of course) the output from the command 'SLMGR.vbs /dlv'

As far as I know, Group Policy can’t help us activate software. To do this, we can resort to KMS or MAK for volume activation.

Lustre 2.0 and iSCSI - Active Active Cluster

I am sitting with a project that has me lookig at all kinds of solutions.
Here is the Project Scope:
2 to 4 servers running Linux ( Still to be decided what Version of Linux )
the above said servers must see the same iSCSI Target and space.
iSCSI Device is a Hard Device with 18TB of SAS2 Drvies and 4 1GB Ports Trunked
The reason for this is that we want to run a Linux based Email system, however our load on email is to huge for just one server
Thus we want to load balance the requests to the 2 or 4 Linux servers and they need to see the same Email on the iSCSI device as a user migth retrieve email from server1 yet email could come in to the users maildir on server2.

Can someone recommend a solution to me?.Enterprise solutions often include several email gateways to increase availability, security and workload by physically separating internal and external access and implementing different servers for sending and receiving smtp traffic. A Linux cluster for processing incoming and outgoing smtp email is not necessarily the best option to increase processing power and availability. For smtp servers with public or external access, spam and relay protection can be a challenging issue.

MS Active Directory (LDAP) and SAP Integration

don't know if I'm right here in this forum, but:
I'm using MS Windows Server 2003 and installed Active Directory as LDAP-System on the one hand side, on the other I'm using a 6.20 ABAP Web AS.
I'd like to synchronize the User Storage on these two systems.
Does anyone have experience in doing this? I'm facing a tricky exception in depth of my customizing too complex to explain right now. The problem concerns the mapping of LDAP-Fields and SAP-Fields.

How can I get Expose to show only and all active windows, regardless of app

Sometimes I have two applications running with several finder windows hidden on the dock. I'd like to know how I can (or if I can) get Expose to show only the Active windows - not the ones on the dock. With this new upgrade, it seems that all open windows that are on the dock appear in a row at the bottom of the screen, which takes up real estate - can I turn that function off so just the open, undocked windows of all apps show?

Sounds like you opened a message in a new window. Have you tried closing that window and see what happens?
If that is not it maybe you can post a screen shot of what you are seeing.

Not able to open active directory user and computer in windows server 2008r2

i would like to know one issue which i am facing mostly, i have created 5 virtual machine all with window server2008r2 and one windows 7 on vm-ware now when ever i start my virtual machines everything going rite but when i try to open active directory user/
computer or domain and trust i get a following error "data from active directory user and computers is not available from dc(null) bcoz unspecified error" even when i chk in events log its give me no help, and after 15-30 min everything works good
Please let me know the cause of it and really appreciate it .

You need to ensure that
1. group policy that says "wait for network before logon" is applied to all computers including servers and workstations is applied
2. DNS record exists for all DCs in DNS
3. If there are multiple Domain Controllers in Forests, then they point them as secondary DNS server. This way they will be able to resolve IPs if local DNS server service takes time to start.
As Chris mentioned, you need to start all DCs first, give a time of 5 minutes and then start member servers and workstations for successful logon.
