SAP connect fails

Hello,
I have difficulties connecting to SAP via RFC. I get Error Messages API4006 and API3011. Does anyone have any idea what this means? I did not find a list of error messages with description.
Florian Fuchs

The API3011 error indicates that the connection
to the sap system fails. The typical causes of
this error are:
1. librfc32.dll needs to be placed in the directory:
$OWB_HOME\owb\bin\admin
2. the librfc32.dll on your machine is not compatible
with owb client. Right click on the librfc32.dll,
check the property: version, build, date etc.
BTW, which version of OWB are you using?

  • HTTP/S connection to the SAP System failed

    Dear SDN,
I am trying to connect my EP System (Enterprise Portal 6.0 SP 15) to MMSCMDEV System(SCM 4.0 Development System).
Please note SCM 4.0 has external ITS on server MMLCADEV (both are in same network). EP is in different domain.
User Mapping has been done while making the system connection.
    1. Ttransaction service test is successful to MMSCMDEV from EP (System Administration->Support->Support Desk->SAP Application->Test and Configuration Tools->Transaction with parameters "service - transaction; tcode - /sapapo/ac04; SAP GUI Type - SAP GUI for Windows").
    2. While uploading transaction using Role Upload, I m not able to view any transaction and get the error as : System connection failed.
    3. System Connection Tests to ITS & WAS fails with error: HTTP/S connection test failed.
The SAPGUI HTML is available thru ITS.
    Please help me resolve issue.

Well I just tried to create the SAP Transaction Iview, putting the tcode I need.
I am able to see them properly , both in  Wingui as well as webgui.
I used a test role and attached it to my user Id and another test id (this exists in both systems and user mapping is done for it.)
I am able to see the iviews working from my Id , but in the test id : it gives an error as : Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
    iView : N/A
    Component Name : N/A
Unable to lookup System 'MMSCMTST'. Please check the system object and the alias..
See the details for the exception ID in the log file

Can somebody tell me why this should have happened ?

  • Connect to SAP gateway failed - internal error

Hi, I've developed a simple .NET application that connects to a SAP system and makes a function call using a SAP Connector Proxy object. Everything works fine in my workstation, but deployment doesn't. I'm also deploying the following libraries: SAP.Connector.dll, SAP.Connector.Rfc.dll and librfc32.dll.
The fact is that deployment works fine in some servers, but not in others. I've checked that .NET Framework is installed (both versions, 1.1 and 2.0). I've checked the "WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services" file. What else should I check? Any idea? Every suggestion would be appreciated.
The error message is the following:
Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM GWHOST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, GWSERV=sapgw00, ASHOST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, SYSNR=00 LOCATION CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host ERROR internal error TIME Mon Nov 13 16:23:08 2006 RELEASE 640 COMPONENT NI (network interface) VERSION 37 RC -1 COUNTER 1
    And the connection string:
    CLIENT=100 USER=****** PASSWD=****** LANG=EN ASHOST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx SYSNR=0
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Daniel,
Can you connect to the particular system by using SAPGUI ?
if yes, then your librfc32 file is working fine.
    NCo internally consumes it's functions.
    Other points to check are
1> service name as appears from within the r/3 system [transaction : smgw]
2> NCo 2.0 uses .net 1.1 & nCo 2.5 uses .net 2.0, do you have both versions running parallely ?
3> gateway errors are infrastructure issues, please verify your firewall settings for the relevant protocols : http / https & also sap ports 3300 onwards.
the services file you have checked will list the ports that need to be opened on the firewall [in the case of multi - domain applications]
4> check in your 'hosts' file [same directory as your 'services' file]
This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    space.
Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    For example:
         102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
          38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host
    with respect,
    amit

I have also checked both service files and they have the following for the ECC server im connecting to.

From the JCE destinations screen i cannot even ping the server. I can though when i log on to the server through remote desktop.

so i guess its not successful. when i look at rz70 of a server where this works correctly its not succsessful either
if it is success then technical system name will be in sld
to restart sld --> /sld --> administration --> stop server --> restart server
or check in VA --> SLD data supplier value --> Runtime
I checked this and i do not see aa problem. you have configuration status as valid and send reult as Success
Services file is locted on OS level of R3 system--> Goto --> Start --> Run -> (type)Drivers(enter) --> etc -> (here is services file)
check ur r/3 server entry is there or not,
I have the followng in the service file for the server
    sapmsDMI 3610/tcp
    if not add it

    Hi Experts,
when ilook at the remote gateway properties in SMGW this is what i see on the R/3 server. ive looked at my other system which i can connect to and there isnt much of a difference in the parameters. How can test this to see if it works?

I know it has something to do with the entries in the services and hosts files of the portal server. Please guide me on links from help.sap.com on this.

    HI Dagfinn,
    Very helpful answer. Thanks.
    When you say :
    4. Normally, the sap system should be registered in DNS, and you should need any. --- How do I check if my SAP system is registerd in the DNS? Is there some detail explaination on this.
    Also,
    I have these observations :
    1. I checked the services file on my portal server and the entry for "sapgw00 3300/tcp" is maintained there.
    2. There is no entry of my SAP ECC box in the  hosts file of my portal server.
    3. The group PUBLIC is not maintained in SMLG transaction.
    4. I am using R3ip only in my code, there is no other place that this "R3ip" is being used.

  • Rfc conn.: Connect to SAP gateway failed , edit: Group PUBLIC not found

    Hello!
I want to create a RFC connection.
In the "Connection and Transport"-Tab I fill out the fields: Target Host, System Number and System ID.
If I save the destination the fields Gateway-Host and Gateway-Service will be automatically filled out with the same input value of the Target Host field.
But there is no gateway for this system and if I ping the destination the following error message is shown:
Error during ping operation: Connect to SAP gateway

    How can I handle this?

    Hi,
I have attempted to configure the Destination with a co-worker who successfully configured a Destination to the same R/3-System but with SAP NetWeaver 2004s and not with SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 SR1.
He said that in his case he connects to the Message-Server so we activated “Load Balancing”.
The Message-Server will be found now but the Logon Group can’t be found:
Error during ping operation: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=xxx.xxx.xxx GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=TDE MSSERV=sapmsTDE PCS=1 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR       <b>Group PUBLIC not found</b> TIME        Tue Oct 02 12:28:09 2007 RELEASE     710 COMPONENT   LG VERSION     5 RC          -6 MODULE      lgxx.c LINE        4392 DETAIL      LgIGroupX COUNTER     15
But the Logon Group is PUBLIC! I checked it with SMLG.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Lakshmi ,
As rightly mentioned by Ganesh, this is supposed to be handlled by Basis+hardware support team.
What you can do as temporary solution, use RSRT for Query Monitor.
And use query display as BEx/HTML, this way you can atleast see the result of query.
    Hope it helps.
