SAP Conversion Agent

Hi,
I have browsed the net for quite some time to get some idea about EDI message handling in XI using the SAP Conversion Agent (CA). I have understood what is CA all about. but i still have few questions unanswered.
1. How flexible or complex it is to use the the CA as compared to SEEBURGER ?
2. It is a must to use the EDI message parsing templates provided in the CA library ?
3. the cost factor. I have read that it is free for development and test landscapes. but for production landscape, we need to pay some license fee. Will this deprive us of any key functionality in the Dev and QUA landscape ?
I have gone throught the help document. Please help me find answers for the above questions.

have some1 used SAP conversion agent on attchment from XI Sender Mail adapter?
it seems to ignore the attchment of the e-mail
the sender configuration module tab is as follows :

Urgent: IDOC to EDI with SAP Conversion Agent

Hi,
I have a requiremetn like IDOC to EDI ( Gentran ) scenario.
We have decided to use SAP Conversion Agent to deal the same.
Can anybody share their experiences on this kind of scenario.

SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version

Hi,
Does anyone have knowledge about SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
I've downloaded it from SDN and it says it comes with an Eclipse version, but i doesnt.
When i try to point it to my existing Eclipse it says it needs version 2.1.2 oe 2.1.3. of Eclipse, but these are quite old. They can be downloaded from a 2004 archive site. (?)
Are there newer version of the SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
Any suggestions are welcome.

SAP Conversion Agent: HL7 library project could not be executed

I'm using SAP Conversion Agent version 4.3.0 on a PI 7.0. I'm trying to use a HL7 library project. On the Conversion Agent Studio side everythings works fine: the library project is created and a test of the service with a local HL7 file was successful. After that I make the project on the Conversion Agent Studio available and copy the project from the local \SAP\ConversionAgent\ServiceDB directory to the PI Conversion Agent ServiceDB directory.
So far so good... but when I try to execute the CA project via File Sender Adapter the following error is thrown:
"Invalid service 'TEST'. Check service name and service database"

XI supports EDIFACT without SAP Conversion Agent and others.

Somebody knows the best way to convert EDIFACT message using XI?
What I can do this without using softwares of conversion like:
- SAP Conversion Agent;
- Seeburger;
- BIC Mapper and others.

See for converting the EDI XML to EDI you need to have a mapping program at the adapter module which does the conversion. For this module you need a BIC tool of seeburger which provides the different module program for EDI to XML and XML-EDI. This program needs to be deployed on XI and through adapter it has to be called for conversion.

SAP Conversion Agent for PI 7.1 EHP 1 and Windows 2008 Support

Hello
I have read that some people were able to run SAP Conversion Agent on a PI 7.1 EHP1 Installation on Windows 2008 Sever. But in the Product Availability Matrix there is no support for 2008 yet.
In the SAP Library (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/fc39c16bfb025ee10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm) under the release notes for SAP Conversion Agent there is still version 8.5, but when I install the actual Support Package I have Conversion Agent 8.6 running and according to information on the informatica.com site this version is running under 2008!
Has anybody clear and actual information about which OS the newest SAP Conversion Agent for PI 7.1 EHP1 supports? Or has anyone experiance on Conversion Agent and Windows 2008 Server?

Thanks for your reply! Fact is that in the actual Package (SP06) the version of Conversion Agent Engine supplied is not 8.5.5 as in the SAP Note mentioned, it is version 8.6.0:
C:\Documents and Settings\pi1adm>CM_console -v
Engine-Version: 8.6.0(Build:30)
Engine-Syntaxversion:4.00.10
I will oben a ticket for that ...

I tried to download SAP Conversion Agent 7.1 by Informatica from following location
Sap Software Download Center---->Browse Our Download Catalog----->Installations and Upgrades----->Adapters----->Informatica----->SAP CA For SAP Netweaver 7.1
but its showing No data available. Can anybody help me how to get this conversion agent.

I Had created my project with PARSER in Conversion Agent, source file will be Pipeline separated Text File , which has multile rows...And I had created XSD for my Message Interface in XI..
When i'm defining my ANCHORS/MARKERS/CONTENT/ .
getting error in DATA Holder, I'm not able see my Schema / XPATH in the respective namespace...

Help required regarding Integrating Conversion Agent with SAP-XI

I want to run a simple File to File scenario which involves integrating conversion
agent. I gone through a webblog:Integrate SAP Conversion Agent by Itemfield with SAP XI
I deployed the module and I configured the channel in the same way what was specified in the webblog.
But when I run my scenario I found CM_TRANSFORMATION_ERROR as the error in communication channel monitoring.
Can u please provide me the solution for correcting the above error, this would be a great help for me..

Conversion agent mapping

Does conversion agent or XI provide any out of the box mapping content to map conversion agent's EDI XML schema and IDOC XML? For example is there a mapping content (in CA or XI) between EDI_MSG_850_Purchase_Order and Orders.Orders05? If so where can I get it?
But I know it provides conversion of native edi to xml format via adapter modules.
I read lot of blogs and forums, but couldn't find this information.

Why dont u got for seeburger for the EDI mapping into XML,seeburger have the standasrd mappings which are predefined and u have to define them in ur module tab in adapter.
Coverstion agant is a tool which will convert any type data that u imazine into XML but it done have the standard mappings predifined.

Help for Using Itemfeild Conversion Agent

Hi all,
i have read several blogs and formus on the use of Conversion Agent software for performing EDIXML To EDI format conversion. Here is the problem i have.
we are doing an IDOC to File scenario and in the Filesender adpater we need to configure and module which does the necessary conversions(EDIXML to EDI-834). I created an Serializer using Content Master Studio and deployed the project to the Content master Engine on the XI server. When i give the transformation paramters which are mentioned in the blogs below

There are no erros shown in the SXMB_MONI or either in the Adpater Framework, but the target file is not being created. can anyone please advice me about how the module name should be set in the File Adpater(SP 17) and how can i check the erros in the conversion module in XI.
