Please guide regarding SAP HR testing process and procedure for functional consultant.
How the process go and what are the T codes applicable?

Depending which all sub-modules of SAP HR HCM you have implemented and how many types of users you are having.
Better thing will be to prepare a document to test all process with actual screenshots taken from system.
Heading for the document will be like 1.Business scenario name 2. Transacation Code 3. Input Data test description and 4.Expected Behaviour 5. Actual Behaviour
Lets take an generic scenario for OM,PA ,TM and PY .
Example:
1.For OM you need to test whether end user is able to create Positions or not and if he can pull out all the standard reports.
2. Test for PA40 all the actions configured and PA30 .
3. If Time Mgmt is there whether End user is able to maintain his 0007 ,leaves and absence.
4. Checking for payroll calculations like PF Deduction, ESI Deduction ,Third Party deductions ,payment made through 0014 and 0015 are reflecting correct in system and Payslip. Absences or LOP getting deducted and Leave encashmentis bein paid from system.
5. All standard reports pulled are giving desired results.
Everything needs to be tested from a end user perspective.
These all are generic things might help,better to post a specific question for issue are facing.

Be more specific on the problem you are facing so that the ppl here can help..
looks like your are trying to file to file scenario and the file is not generating at the target folder ...
then check the communication logs of the receiver adapter using RWB->CC logs..
post the error you have received there..

Scenario Testing vs. Integration Testing

Hi,
I am really confused with all the Testing lingo. There are so many different types of testing. They all sound like one another. Can somebody please clarify for me the difference btwn scenario testing and integration testing. A definition of each with a brief explanation would be nice.

Hi Ali,
Testing is actually the process of exercising or evaluating a system or a system component by manual or automated means to verify that it satisfies specified requirements. It is the process of executing a program with the intent of locating errors.
There are certain levels of testing as below:
1) Unit Testing or Component Testing or White Box Testing or Scenario Testing
2) Integration Testing or Interface Testing
3) System Testing
So, Scenario or Unit testing is taken care by the developer by executing the particular piece. Example is Developer wrote one program to display the list of vendors details. So, the developer tests whether the program is displaying the data correctly and in the correct format meeting the requirements.
Integration testing is a logical extension of unit testing. In its simplest form, two units that have already been tested are combined into a component and the interface between them is tested. A component, in this sense, refers to an integrated aggregate of more than one unit. In a realistic scenario, many units are combined into components, which are in turn aggregated into even larger parts of the program. The idea is to test combinations of pieces and eventually expand the process to test your modules with those of other groups. Eventually all the modules making up a process are tested together.
Integration testing (sometimes called Integration and Testing, abbreviated I&T) is the phase of software testing in which individual software modules are combined and tested together as a group.The purpose of integration testing is to verify functional, performance and reliability requirements placed on major design items.
Example: A third party system sends vendor data file into our unix box. Our application program read the file and uploads the data and posts to different tables there by creating some document numbers.

ASCP Scenario Testing Scripts

Hello! Group,
We are in the process of starting the implementation of the ASCP Module 11.5.8. I was wondering if any one in the forum would be willing to share or guide me in creating a scenario testing script for the ASCP module to validate the functionalities.
Any pointers regarding what to look for, what worked, what failed is also appreciated.

Hi,
There is no ready made solution to this. What you have to do is..
a)what is the Proposed Process for the customer.List all the elemental details and it is objectives..like Data input and its expected out put results. I give you one simple example.
Assume that customer is using Resource Availability with Efficiency and utilization consideration. You need to validate the data input and data calculation on this.
Like wise, you need to identify the each elemental activities that forms your proposed Process ; Based on that Propose the test scripts.How ever you can make to test all the functionality of the ASCP and infarct it may not work 100% as well.So go with Business Process and form the test scripts.

BI SAP Query Connector test fails!

BI SAP Query Connector test is failing in Portal 7.0 SP6
Scuccessfully tested BI SAP Query connector using the
URL : http://<myhost>:51200/TSapq/servlet/TestSapq
But when i try to test from the portal its failing
The Connection properties are defined both in Connection Connector in Visual admin as well as Portal as follows and user mapping is done as follows.
Application Server myhost.xxx.net
Client : 010
Message Server : myhost.xxx.net
Query Area : x
System Number : 12
System Name : BWT_SAPQ
Master Language : en
User Management
Logon Method : SAPLOGONTICKET
User Mapping : Admin, User
In User Administration i have maped the BWT_SAPQ system and provided user id and password.

Test Connection with Connector
Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
Results
Retrieval of default alias successful
Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.

it seems like you already have your BI SAP Query system working properly, if you can use it in the BI Integration Wizard. what's the problem you're seeing in VC?
systems created with the BI SAP Query Connector are relational systems and therefore expose tables and fields in VC. via the BI Connector, these systems are 'lent' BI functionality and you can use these tables in the BI Integration Wizard, as you've seen. you might therefore call these "relational BI systems" (just like systems created with the BI JDBC Connector are).
if you have consulted the System Landscape documentation on configuring properties for a BI SAP Query System (<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4b/9afe3323d14005a283dee9101c66fc/frameset.htm">here</a>) and you're still having problems connecting with the BI SAP Query Connector, i'd suggest you write up a CSS message.

I would be glad to know if you can give me a step by step screenshot document for a Loadtest on SAP Application ( Any Module).
Y i am asking you all this,.. well, downloading and installing a loadrunner on a desktop/standallone machine is very simple,.. but when it comes to Network environment where you have Controller installed on one machine and Load Generators on Another machine.. and Diagnostics installed on ( i donno where it will be installed ) user/server machine.. it is really difficult to imagine/assume/picturize the whole scenerio by taking x as example..
I would be really glad and thankfull if someone can let us know, how to quick start a project..
I have gone thru the Documentation " How to Perform SAP EP Load Testing.." good enough to understand but it would be more good if someone have articulated with interactive screenshots..
Ok fine, now my next question is , how do we go with SAP GUI protocol..
can someone give me an example with some interactive screenshots..

SAP Scenario Testing

I understand that SAP scenario are tested in Mercury software, any possible link or a website where i can find info on how to use mercury testing software for SAP

Hello,
Mercury is a software which is only used to record and execute your test scenarios. Mercury will not interact with SAP and test it automatically. The test steps should be defined in Mercury manually and the test results should also be recorded then you may be able to execute.
The test results, time, process areas ...etc can be tracked by this.

SAP Receiver Connection Testing

Hi All,
We have an IDOC Receiver running as a service, and runs well. Occasionally we loose communication from the service to the SAP Production Server (AS/400). Is thier anyway I can test the connection, or watch for an event that would signify we need to restart the service. Right now when the communication halts, the SAP Server gets flooded with ARFC jobs. Then the operators stop and restart the Receiver service on the Windows 2003 Server.

Integration test - means to test integrity of all your business processes, whether or not it is working as specified
We usually create a roadmap of all business processes we have to check (several scenarios), step by step: for example:
1. Investment in Deposit (creation, settlement, etc).
2. Posting (tbb1, F110/F111)
3. Bank statement
4. Interest
5. Changing condtions, parameters, etc.
6. Defferal/accrual
7. FInal repayment
8. Reports
For this roadmap we create parameters: investment amount, terms, interest structure, etc.
And on the day of the integration test we execute the roadmap with all parameters and putting notes when somting wrong - so called Integration Protocol.
After the integration test we correct everything what was listed in the protocol.

SAP HR Interface Testing

Dear all -
I am a newbie to SAP HR module. I am going to work on a project where the areas concentrated in HR are - Organizational Management/Personnel Administration; ESS/MSS and Interface Testing.
Could anyone please advise me as to what would Interface Testing involve? What would be the third party tools used?
Also, please let me know what could be the scenarios that would be tested in Organization Management/Personnel Adm and ESS/MSS?

Hi Shilpa,
You have asked a question which is totally customer specific. Until unless some one knows the details of your customer it is very difficult to answer the question. Anyway here is the common guidelines.
For Interface...
1) First you have to identify the third party tolls which your customer will use.
2) If the third part tolls are identified, then you check the sap standard and custom interface which are using in your sysytem.
3) Check whether the interfaces are inbound or outbound and what type of data are send/received by the interfaces.
4) Execute the interface and check whether you are getting the correct data or not.
For org management..
1) Check the org structure are correct or not.
2) Test the scenarios related to org structure.
3) Check whether PA OM synchronization is on or not.
4) Test your customer specific scenarios.
For ESS/MSS..
1) Check the bank/address/own data change scenario from portal.
2) Check the portal Forms.
3) Check the ECM related thing to ESS/MSS.
I think you should have test scripts for that.

Error while using soap adapter in webservice to sap system scenario

i got the error while using saop adapter in scenario(sender webservice----->sap system)
error is

I also have a demo SAP ERP 6.0 EhP 3.0 BAIO system with several clients:
(100: demo client, 200: BW, 300: demo client (copy of 100)).
Questions:
what are the post installation steps to configure SAP PI?
Which scenarios can be used in such landscape?
(eg. exchange (IDOC, RFC, etc.) from client ERP:100 to ERP:200)

I recommend you to use proxys in your landscape as you want to interchange messages between
different clients in the same system.
