SAP IS-High Tech Activation

Hi,
We have recently implemented ECC 6.0 with EhP 5. While trying to get Is-High tech componenet activated we dont see any option coming up with the same name. Can someone help me to understand how to activate this componenet?

Hi,

  • Industry Solution for High Tech Manufacturing - how to activate?

    Hello,
I'm Basis consultant installing ECC 6.0 at a client site. The client company has purchased a package from SAP that includes the " SAP Industry Solution for High Tech Manufacturing ."
My question is: how is this installed? Is this part of ECC-DIMP, and thus can be activated after installation of ECC. If so, can this be activated and tested in a newly created client copy, or does the activation need to take place prior to a client copy?
If not part of ECC-DIMP, does this purchase refer to Best Practices for High Tech, which does require additional software. In this case I believe I will need to install the Baseline package for BP, then the specific BP for High Tech.
    Follow-up question:
    1. Could either of these be installed later, or would that break existing new configuration?
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Glen

Hi Glen, I just saw your posting from two months back and wondered if you had gotten your answer, and if by saying that the client had purchased a package from SAP that includes the " SAP Industry Solution for High Tech Manufacturing ", did they mean SAP Best Practices for High Tech?
Please let us know if you have any questions,

  • When should SAP Country Versions be activated ?

Should SAP Country Versions be activated within the Global SAP Template prior to the wave roll outs to avoid retrofitting during the waves?
    Situation:
We have completed the global SAP template and are ready to roll it out to 50 countries. Wave 1 (of 4) implementation project has just started but does not require any of the complex Country Versions. Those are only needed in waves 2 and 3.
    Decision point:
Should all Country Versions (that will eventually be needed) be activated prior to the 1st go-live or only once the specific country will go live?
    Concern:
It can be expected that some Country Versions, such as India, Brazil or Japan, that include highly complex functionality, may impact the existing Global Template. For example, certain transactions (e.g. Material Master, Vendor or Customer maintenance, Goods Movements) will require additional data elements once the Country Version has been activated. Retrofitting may therefore be necessary for entities that have gone live in previous waves. Global Template rework (e.g. BPP, training material) may be necessary.

    Hello,
first of all we have to clarify the meaning of "activating a country" within a global system.
In SAP ERP, there is no "switch", which can be activated and as a result the country is active and fully implemented.
In contrast, there is the so called country installation program (see SAP note 63805 point 3) to implement SOME template settings -
however these are proposals only and will not serve as a fully activated country version.
Therefore in order to implement a country, customers have to do much more than using the country installation program.
Hence the effort to do this in a proper way is rather high (especially for the complex countries).
In theory you are right - it would be the best for the template approach to have all the countries implemented and as a result to have a
rather stable global template. However this is usually NOT reality in customer projects. In most cases, it does not make sense to invest
into the country implementation several years in advance. As an example, testing of the implementation is an important aspect -
this would be needed twice - as there are legal changes and these have to be implemented in the countries.
Summing it up, it is rather best business practice to adapt the global template (and take the risk of changing functionality for countries
which are already live) while implementing additional countries rather than do everything in one shot.
There might be a few exceptions to this rule for very special requirements:
Example: India and Brazil have requirements which touch the logistics area (in Brazil: (electronic) Nota fiscal). Here it could make sense to consider these requirements in the initial phase of the template design.
    Best regards,

  • High SQL activity causing delays in jobs starting

    Experts,
We are having a problem nearly exactly the same time of day each day where jobs scheduled to execute during a roughly 10 minute interval are delayed in there start because of what we think is extra high SQL activity. Our conclusion is based on the observation that during this period the following SQLs are being executed 19400+ and 7100+ time respectively"
    SELECT J.STATUS , J.NEWSTATUS , S.LEVEL# , J.OUT$OSNAME , J.OBJ# , J.REMOTE_STATUS FROM RWS_JOB$ J , RWS_STA$ S WHERE J.JOB# = :1 AND S.STATUS = J.STATUS AND ( J.STATUS != :1 OR J.SCH$NAME IS NULL ) FOR UPDATE OF J.STATUS
    SELECT VALUE_VCH FROM JCS_JOB_PARAMETERS WHERE JOB_ID = :1 AND PARAMETER_NAME = 'PARENT_WAIT_FOR_CHILD'
We have traced this back to a package called RSISYS.
Can anyone shed some light as to what may be happening and what steps we need to perform to alleviate the situation.
    Thanks.
    Kind Regards,
    David Carr

    Hi,
The following applies to the standalone version only, which is the version you are using.
Since it always occurs at roughly the same time, it is probably something recurring.
It could be that you are starting a lot of jobs at the same time, either in CPS or in SAP (if CPS monitors SAP jobs as well).
But you would probably be aware of that.
It can also be the "DeleteCheck" of the RFC agent: please check in the registry the values for "History" and "DeleteCheckInterval" for your SAP system(s).
Finally there are a few system jobs that can have similar effects, such as RSI_SYNC_CCMS_JOBS if there are a lot of jobs to check.
    Regards,
    Anton.

  • High Tech for CRM

    Hi All,
We have a scenario where the client has an already existing CRM 4.0 system up and running on which he now requires IS-High Tech.
    My query is:
    1. whether High Tech can be provided as an Add On on the  already existing CRM syetem or does this have to be a fresh installation.
    2. Also Client has an R/3 system with IS-High Tech on it. Is the High Tech for R/3 the same as Hight Tech for CRM and can the same Installables be used?
Please get back to me as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance
    Ipsita Guin

    Hi Sat,
the link in your reply suggests the way we can develop generic extractors based on function module. That approach works well with standard SAP (ie R/3) but IS High Tech being a CRM based system, the process of creating generic extrators is a bit different.
    Thanks for your reply.

My main Question is how we integrate this process with CRM to R3. Do we use CRM Middleware to do this? If so, what Replication Object we use for this in CRM. Currently I have found a Publication 'All CMS contracts (MESG)' with BDoc BUS_CMSCON_MSG will it support Channel Management High Tech scenario (Process which I mentioned above).
Kindly advise on this as I am new to High Tech Channel Management. It would be appreciated if you able to explain me the process of Resale & Claim Transmission and Price Bucket and its backend Integration Details.

after kernel loading (just before getty starts) i notice extremely high disk activity for ~20 seconds for no reason. I think that it is something related to systemd and mount services.
When i set rootfs to read-only in syslinux kernel parameters then the system starts normally without delay. So, i think that something is constantly writing to (or checking?) my hard disk right after boot sequence.

  • Seeburger High Tech Adapter Vs EDI INT AS2 adapter?

I have a couple of questions regarding Seeburger High Tech Adapters and EDI INT AS2 adapter.
    1. My client wants to use EDI INT AS2 adapter for transmitting their EDI documents to their trading partner. Can we just buy the EDI INT AS2 adapter? If yes, will this include the other Seeburger modules like
Classifier, BIC, Splitter, and Functional Ack solution, and BIC Mapping Designer?
    2. What is the difference in buying the Seeburger High Tech Adapters Vs EDI INT AS2 adapter?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

You could buy only the AS2 adapter. As per my knowledge, the license changes according to the adapters you buy. If you opt to buy only the AS2 adapter, then it will not include the BIC, Mapping designer etc.

    Hello Experts!
I've installed MDM 5.5 SP6 along with the portal content that came from the same download. The portal content files I installed are listed below.
    BPMDMAPPLI06_0.sca

When I try to get a new MDM system I get the exception below. I've looked and searched the portal content and this iView (com.sap.pct.mdm.tech.systems.MDMSystemWizard) does indeed appear to be missing. Is there something else I need to install? The SCA files all deployed without errors.
    Steps to recreate this error:

  • Photos and high CPU activity

Importing photos the CPU runs fast and my laptop runs hot. Checking Activity Monitor, Photos App pushes the CPU well beyond 100%.  com.apple.photos.videoconversionservice does the same. Apparently the 'video conversion' is a default setting for importing videos to enable storing videos in iCloud. However, I don't use iCloud for storing any photos or videos and I don't want to...so this conversion is completely unecessary as well as annoying and a waste of time. It can't be doing my laptop much good either running it at a very hot temperature. I've read others having a similar problem but have yet to see any concrete solutions to the problem. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for the advice- What do I look for in the console log?
    From Mac Help:
    *Viewing system messages*
While your system performs tasks, it sends messages between applications, processes, and the operating system. Some of these messages are displayed, but most are not displayed because they can be too detailed and technical. If you are a programmer debugging software, or are troubleshooting a problem with a service technician, messages related to the problem may be located system logs. To view these messages you can use the Console utility located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
For more information, Open Console, and then choose Help > Console Help.
Click on the all logs in the source pane on the left - most of the stuff is impossible to figure out but over temperature warnings are clear as is the sleep message that follows it
Also, I'm not sure if it is overheating- it shows high CPU activity even when I first start using my computer (after hours of non use), so it is not hot at all- can it still overheat?
It is possible - the way to find out is to read the log and see what it says
Have you inspected the air vents including the one on the back under the stand?

  • Difference between 8.1 Horizontal implementation and 8.1 High Tech Vertical

    Hi There,
We're trying to figure out the difference between the 8.1 Horizontal implementation of Siebel and 8.1 Vertical implementation of Siebel. We mostly use the Sales and Marketing apps, I know they've introduced MDF and some different Selling/Pricing models, but what we're wondering is if the Accounts/Contacts/Oppty structure, workflows fields are significantly different between the Horizontal and the Vertical implementations.
If anyone has the High Tech Vertical implementation please let me know. We need to make this decision asap.

    Yes, it can.
If so, are there filters that can be used to easily make the effect?
Oh please... Not everything comes as an instant effects. Most of that is just conventional layers animated with a bit of tracking and 3D-illusions. Simply learn AE and do so by starting with the basics:
