SAP- Windows services.

I have a console application written in Dot Net which gets data from SAP and does some processing. It was felt we convert the console application to a service to reduce the complexity in procedure. Therefore i'd like to know how to specify the RFC destination parameters in the Service written in C#.Net. In which event of the service to i read the windows service. Good you give me an idea about the events in the Service such as onStart,onStop,onContinue.
Thank you.

Anything in the event log before the shutdown/restart of the machine?

  • Services in SAP management console and related window services and process

    hai
    can u please any one of you can send me the services in SAP management console and related window services(in adminstrator/services) and process in task manager.
    thanks in advance.
    Naga Laxmi

    Hi Naga,
    Please refer to this article for the processes relevant to the Java Instance:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/1bf03eae11e16be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    Except the processes of the Java instance you can find several processes of the IGS server and the ABAP disp+work processes.
    You can easily find the relevant services by their SAP prefix.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP Web Dispatcher does not start as windows service

    Hi,
    I have successfully installed and configured SAP Web Dispatcher. When I start the web dispatcher from command prompt, it works fine. I created a windows service for web dispatcher using the command
    ntscmgr install sapwebdisp -b "c:\program files\sap\sapwebdisp\sapwebdisp.exe"
    -p "service pf=sapwebdisp.pfl -cleanup -auto_restart"
    The command successfully created sapwebdisp service. The service also starts fine, but web dispatcher does not get started.
    Any ideas experts?

    Hi,
    Ok. Few suggestions.
    1. Can you review the SAP note:
    552286  Troubleshooting for the SAP Web Dispatcher
    2. When you said: "web dispatcher does not get started ", what error you got ? Can you be more details here ?
    3. Please check the trace file dev_webdisp" that generated in the work directory. If the log entries is not abvious, increase the trace level to 2 or 3, and reproduce and re-check the trace file.
    4. What is the output of the command "sapwebdisp -v"
    5. How about sapwebdisp.pfl ? Are those settings correct ?
    Hope this helps.

    Dear Dayal,
    Thank you for your trust on me. To be honest, I never use SAP Backup Service. This is because: SQL Server provides its own Backup Service. No other vendor can compete with its build in function.
    Thanks,

  • How to remove user authentication for SAP Web Service?

    Hi there,
    I am using SAP Web Services in my flex application. Every time wsdl url is called, the username\password window pops up. I want to remove this.
    I searched in the forum and based on the discussions, I tried giving the user name password under Web Service Administration using SOAMANAGER, by selecting No Authentication option. But this did not work. I still get that pop up.
    I also tried giving the credentials in SICF, under Logon Data tab of the service. This too failed. I kept getting the pop up.
    Can someone pls let me know how can I remove this? If username password in mandatory to be passed, I can create a temporary username which will be used to access all of my webservices and use it. But I want to remove this authentication part when I am using the flex application ang calling the web service url from within it.
    Appreciate your help.....
    -Deepak

    Hi,
    It is a little bit tricky, because the interface has changed several times in different releases. I know that it is possible without authentification.
    I remember that i defined somewhere the default client, the username and password in the ERP system to use by this web service.
    Maybe it helps if you try the old transactions WSADMIN, WSCONFIG or WSADMIN2 ?
    Sorry that I cannot help you more. I hope it helps.
    Best regards,
    Joern

  • SAP Cluster service issue

    Here is the description of the PRD cluster scenario. ( windows 2008 + oracle)
    We have 2 nodes .
    1. host-erpn01 ( Have ASCS , Database instance, Enqueue and Dialog
    Instance installed)
    2. host-erp02 ( Have Central Instance, Dialog Instance and Enqueue installed)
    When we move "SAP SID" service using "failover cluster management tool" from one node to another its fails and we have to manually select the  "SAP SID cluster service" and "SAP SID cluster instance" to online.
    These both service and instance were coming online after manual selection, however after some time in the mmc console of node 2 the sap instances hosted on node1 are in red cross and are giving " cannot connect to sap service dcom interface error 800706BA"
    We replaced the sapstartsrv.exe from working directory of ASCS instance to CI executable directory.
    Now the disp+work is stopped for CI instance. Also in the CI instance executable directory we can see five files with name of sapstartsrv i.e
    sapstartsrv.exe.new , sapstartsrv.exe.tmp, sapstartsrv.new, sapstartsrv.pdb and actual sapstartsrv.exe file.
    Here is the log of sapstartsrv.log  CI work directory from node2.

  • Install of WAS 6.40 java on windows no windows services created

    We are trying to install a NW04 SR1 WAS on windows. The latest Install Master CD download now requires Oracle 10. The Oracle 10 install is the first part of the install process. The Note number 949116  says to use the procedure for the Oracle install in the NW 2004s SR1 install guide.
    We have followed these instructions and after running the Oracle installer via sapserver.cmd we get a successful completion with 0 byte error file.
    We are installing over Remote Desktop as a user who is a member of the local Admin group.
    But the only windows service created is iSQL.
    I tried using both mstsc & mstsc /console but the services are still not created.
    Has anyone had the same problem?
    Regards
    Chris

    Thanks for your help Gopal
    The documentation is very bad on this process so for anyone who is following the the upgrade of R/3 internet sales from J2EE Engine 6.20.
    Use the following;
    6.20/6.40 based products Installation Master (Edition Sept. 2006) Number 51032143
    Download IGS, SCS, Crypto Lib & SAP:J2EE-CD:640SR1:J2EE-CD::
    Download Oracle 10, 5 files rebuild cd by clicking on the.exe file
    Install Oracle 10 (Don't expect to see an operational RDBMS i.e no services)
    Install NW04s SR1 java via Install Master SAPInst
    Install CRM Component ISA R/3 via Install Master SAPInst
    Hope this helps
    Regards

  • Call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program

    Hi all,
    Are there any way to call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program?
    Best regards.
    Munur EBCIOGLU

    Hi again Bhagat,
    1. Yes, it's included on 7.4 ABAP Stack (SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP8 - Optimized for SAP HANA, Cloud and Mobile - Service Release 2 available now!). In a recent customer, SAP licences GW by user but there are other license model like session licensing: https://store.sap.com/sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000009470&catID=&pcntry=US&sap-language=EN&_cp_id=id-1385059687642-0
    2. You could install as an AddOn on your 7.3 system, there are many options depending on your desired infrastructure: SAP Gateway deployment options in a nutshell For example our customer have deployed Central Hub Gateway in a standalone stack ABAP to act as an standalone oData bridge between ABAP/nonAbap systems.
    3. You could deploy SAPUI5 apps in 7.x, Java Web Servers or HTTP Web Servers. You must consider your SSO scenario:
    - SSO Logon Tickets. You will need to configurate SSO Logon Tickets between SAP NW Portal & SAP NW Gateway & your backend (ECC, etc). In order to pass SAP session cookie you will need setup SAP Web Dispacther and access portal & gateway throught SAP WD with the same domain.
    - SAML2 Tickets. This scenario lets you provide portal & gateway on different domains enabling SSO. You could configure SAP NW Portal as an Identity Provider and other systems must trust SAP Portal as IdP.
    Cheers

  • Error while trying to load Crystal report via Windows service

    Hi,
    I am trying to generate PDF file using crystal reports. I have developed a console application which works absolutely fine, however when I converted the code to work as windows service (wcf hosted in Windows service), this below error I see from stack trace:
    Load report failed.
    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportClientDocumentWrapper.EnsureDocumentIsOpened()
    at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename, OpenReportMethod openMethod, Int16 parentJob)
    at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename)
    at AtDataWindowsService.GetData.generatePDF(DataTable dt)
    The code used is:
    CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType exportFormat;
    ReportDocument reportObj = new ReportDocument();
    exportFormat = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat;
    //Load the Crystal Report
    reportObj.Load("CrystalReport.rpt");
    reportObj.SetDataSource(dt);
    What might be going wrong here?

    Hello,
    Thank you for your post.
    Based on your description, I am afraid that the issue is out of support of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
    WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System
    and Visual Studio Editor.
    I suggest that you can consult your issue directly on SAP Crystal Reports:

      for better solution and support.

  • RFC call from a Windows Service

    Hi All,
    I have created a simple windows service which is making an RFC call to R/3 system. This is not working. Whereas the same piece of code written in a windows application projects(exe) works properly. Does anyone had similer issues working with Windows services ? Is it a known issue of RFC calls from windows service ???
    Thanks & Regards
    Ganesh Datta

    Hi Juergen,
    After I put the debug statements I figured out that connection to R/3 system is unsuccessful.
    I am using the SAP .Net Connector 2.0. I wrote a windows service which is manually started. Withing my service I am using Single sign on to connect .This is what was causing the problem. If I disable Single sign on and supply userID and password then connection is successful and also subsequent RFC calls.
    I guess within windows service Single sign on does not work.
    Thanks for your reply
    Best Regards
    Ganesh Datta
