Sapcript to Smartform Migration

It is possible to migrate SAPSCRIPTS to SMARTFORMS n vice-versa in ECC 6.0.
My question is to what extent is the migration helpful, steps for migration and precautions, if any I need to take after migration?

Hello,
I'm trying to migrate sapscript form to smartform. I used standard way in smartform transaction. After migration I found out that not all of sapscript windows waren't migrated. What's wrong? Does anybody deal with this problem? What's possibly cause?

Step 1. Access the initial screen. Choose Tools>Forms printout>Smart Forms (transaction SMARTFORMS) from the SAP Easy Access Menu. The dialog window SAP Smart Forms: Initial Screen appears.
Step 2. Name the form. In the Form Field, enter field name you want to give, for example ZTF_GR_## (based on your company standard starting with Z to identify this as a customized form, where ## is the group number).
Step 3. Access the migrate function. Go to Utilities>Migrate SAPscript Form. In the dialogue window enter the SAPscript form name, for example Y_SAPSCRIPT_STD. Choose the Check button.
Step 4. View the migrated layout. On the screen that appears, the SAPscript form is migrated into a rough Smart Form . Click on Form Painter to see an overview of the form layout.
Use the following steps for mass migration or simultaneous migration of multiple SAPscript forms: Step 1. Run the mass migration program. In Reporting (transaction SE38), select the program SF_MIGRATE and execute it (Figure 3). Select the names and the language of the SAPscript forms and click the execute icon. The system creates the Smart Forms named for the SAPscript forms plus the extension SF. It displays a list of the migrated forms.
Step 2. Make changes (if necessary). To change and adapt a form, go to transaction SMARTFORMS. Then activate the changed Smart Form.
Once the SAPscripts are converted, whether in Smart Forms or Smart Styles, you should clean up any errors made during the conversion process, in terms of attributes, window alignment, or syntax errors. Cleaning up errors during conversion is often standard procedure, as SAPscript might have used local logic. Errors may occur when a field displayed is extracted or manipulated to display and doesnt exist, or fields exist but appear with no values. Errors may also arise in ABAP syntax.
Step 1. Define the Import Parameter. Double-click on the Global Settings> Form Interface from the navigation menu
Step 2. On the Import Tab, enter the import structure information. For example, enter Parameter Name (table name, such as LIKP), Type Assignment: Type, Reference Type (table name), Optional (or Mandatory); Pass Val: (Passing value indicator). This must be done for all the data retrieved from the SAP tables.
Step 3. Remove irrelevant or unnecessary windows. To delete a navigational menu node, right-click on the node, and select Delete. Since you start with windows in SAPscript, there might be redundant windows created for text.
Step 4. Set the first page. Delete the NEXT page node on the menu tree. Double-click on the first page node. In the General Attributes tab, change the Next Page value to FIRST.
Step 5. Delete the DETAIL frame window. Expand the MAIN window and delete all its text nodes.
Step 6. Adjust the text nodes. Click on the text nodes and let the system fit the text.
Step 7. Save and check the syntax.

Interactive form is the next version of the smartform with more functionality and flexibility.In migration menu it displays as convert the smartform into adobe form(interactive form).
Generally adobe forms are classified as 2 types.
1. adobe print form. : it looks just like smartform ,but only additional function is o/p will display in PDF format and we can save that pdf file.
2.adobe interactive format: here textboxes are editable,buttons have events. Here we have to handle the events for making the form interactive. This form o/p also display in pdf along with user can enter some values and make some actions.
When smartform migrate to interactive form means,generally it creates interface and form. Interface has the parameters for impoting,exporting,table.Form has just layout. when ever we want data parameters just bind the form context with interface parameters.

Hi Change the Script in the sense I am undertanding that You need to modify some of the existing things in the script... IF yes, then you can COPY the script into a Z-Script and Print program into Z-program and carry out your chnages. Just changing the NACE settings with the new names is enough.
Many clients will do that.....
Instead while upgrades and some specific requirements where it is not possible to do the things in Scripts, we can go for Script to Smartform Migration. For that in the SE71 menubar one option will be there.. Migrate to smartform. we can use that and other changes we can do in Smartforms... Instead we can directly CREATE a new smartform instead of MIGRATION....
That depends on the amount of changes need to be done after MIGRATION...

Relation PWB   Sapscript or smartforms

1) im trying to use pwb and my questionis , are there sapscript or smartfprms   already assigned to each PWB CLASS
     or shold we assign one by ourselves ?
2) if they do exists (sapcript ot smartforms) How can we find each corresponding one easily ?
3) if we modify the sapscript should we do it thru application form only ?

Hi ,
     Form class are defined by sap applications and contain access instruction for all data belonging to a particular application (invoices, dunning notices etc).
you can define your own application forms based on form class delivered by sap ,you can use forms delivered by sap as reference for your own application form according to your /company needs .
During the creation of application form you can decide the application form category ( sap script ,smart forms or PDF based forms) .
The (sap script , smart forms , pdf based forms) provide you with layout and design options and can be modified/created according to company needs .
You can go to (Tcode EFCM ) select an form class and execute ,in the next screen click on the form class and in the top bar use where used list ,it will give you the sample application forms that sap has delivered for the form class , you can click on the application form and in the top bar find a (sap script , smart form or pdf based form ) you can click on this to see the layout and design of the form.

About Print Workbench

I am implementing SAP LSO recently. I want to use the Print Workbench(Collections) to create an email with a Attachment(NOT PDF Format). How can I do that?
for example:
When learner book a course, system will send a email(with attachment in outlook appointment format) to him/her.
I add two smartforms in the Collections, one is email content, the other is outlook appointment file content, I set the Attachment indicator in the outlook appointment file content smartform in the Collections, but when I received the email, the attachment is PDF format. How can I change the format of the attachment or is there any way to do so?(BADI?)

1.efrm t code
type the application form name u wish 2 activate
click enter
in the next screen click activate button
2.for creating a new form
gv ur form name ex ZIS_U_WA_ORDER_DOWNLOAD
and click in menu bar copy from client
copy from 000 to ur client id
and u can see in the next screen all forms and application forms created in new name starting with z...
and save in english
thats it in the ecc6 version
differnece between sapcripts and smartforms are based on client depenedecies
smartforms areclient dependent and sap scriots are clienct independent
coloured logos can be made in smart forms not in sap scripts
smart forms is always easier since it s the advanced of sapscript concept..

Hi All,
Will anyone explain in points clearly the necessity of sap scripts (or smartforms). I mean, I like to know the
difference between them and the list output. What can be achieved in latter and not in former, advantages and
disadvantages etc etc. Consider also ALV mode of output.

The Following are the differences between Sapcript and Smartforms:-
a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3. You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format. In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform. From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk. When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.

Need to increase the font size of SAP printer

Hi all,
We had some new HP printers HP4015 which needs to print from SAP . we created the new device type ZHPLJCM1 after checking correct device type for it from HP printer site. For some users printouts are coming in small fonts ,they wanted it to print in big fonts .
These are some of the t codes that they use KAH3 , FB03 , Y_DEV_39000067.
we tried to change the printer fonts in SE73 of that particular device type and increased the font size , but that also ended in vain.
Kindly suggest possible ways by which we can solve this issue.
Please let me know if more information are needed.

Is this ABAP lists, sapcript or smartforms? For sapscript or smartforms, you need to specify the font size in the paragraph/character formats for sapscript and in the smartstyle for smartforms.
For ABAP lists, the font size is selected based on the format used. e.g. If you create a list with format X_65_255, it should print in landscape and the font size is calculated based on the size needed to fit 255 characters into a page. If the format is X_65_132, then the font size is calculated based on the size needed to fit 132 characters into a page so it is a bit larger.

Migration of Smartforms / SAPScript forms from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0

Dear Members,
We are in process of re-implementing SAP with SAP ECC 6.0 from SAP R/3 version 4.7
We have created many layouts using SAPScripts & SAP Smartforms in SAP R/3.
My question is, are there any migration tools available in SAP ECC 6.0 in the form of function modules, BAPI etc to convert existing forms of Smartforms / SAPScripts created in SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC 6.0 ?
Or do we have to design all existing forms created in R/3 once agin in SAP ECC 6.0 ?
We request our dear members to share their views on the above mentioned problems faced by us in the re-implementation project

Dear Friend,
As per our consultant's view, we are not upgrading from SAP R/3 4.7 to SAP ECC. We are re-implementing; that is, we are going to implement SAP ECC as if we are doing it for the first time ever in our company. This is due to drastic organizational changes happend in our company. So, upgrading from R/3 is not feasible solution, according to our consultants.
So, we have to re-configure all settings in SPRO manually in ECC based on our new business scenario. There will be new company codes, plants, business area etc., which will be totally different from existing R/3 system.
But the template definitions of the existing forms maintained in SAPScript / Smartforms will remain same.
There are 50+ forms (boith SAPScript / Smartforms put together) and manual re-designing of all those forms will be tedious within the scheduled date of GO Live.
In that case, to avoid re-designing, what is the best method that can prevent manual re-design of Smartforms?

Migrate script to Smartforms

Hello ,
Background :
1) After I migrate Script to smartforms . I get around 200 windows .
As 200 windows have been defined in a script .( 1 window per box).
2) The layouts are pretty complex and it would take around 2-3 days to create a new smartform .
3) I cannot use the existing scripts for a few modifications have to be made to header and footer and it's easier to make them in smartforms
4)The output after migration is good . A few Modifications But it's fine.
Problem :
i)Would it lead to a performance problem due to presence of 200 windows if I migrate .
ii)Would it lead to maintainance problem if I migrate as I cannot see all the 200 windows at once in the form painter . I can see only the window on which I have placed the cursor .
Kindly Help me find a solution.

Actually there are around 12 scripts .
So Total Development time will be around 30 days if I create a new smartform. since the layout is very complex .
And 9 days if I migrate scripts to smartforms with changes ..
So the Conflict in my my mind is whether to go for less Development Time now and maintainance problem later
Would a good TS / FS documented as follows suffice :
1) By taking a printout of the layout .
2)Writing the variable name in each window .
3)Scanning it and using it as FS.
I feel FS/TS is usually not read afterwards .
So even after documentation , Maintainace problem will not be solved .
I do not have that much time . So I would have to put extra efforts at night for creation of new smartforms.
i have to deliver them in 15/20 days .
So Do you suggest putting extra efforts now to make a new smartforms to avoid maintainence problem later .
Kindly give your valuable suggestion.

Migration of smartforms into adobe forms

hi,
After migration of smart form into adobe form, while checking( syntax ) the error message will be displayed like the Sender Country is not filled. if i fill the sender country then only the adobe form activate but no sender country is provided in smart form. how can we rectify this problem in migration of smart form into adobe forms ( Address node ).
sender country is not mandatory in smart form but comes into adobe form it is mandatory. How can we handle this type of issues.

then i have to migrating the same smartform to Adobe form.
While migrating from smartform to Adobe i am getting dump like..
There is already a type called TY_TEXT ..
Can any one have any idea abt the same, please share with me..
And also i wanted to know that is there any other way to do the same?

Migrating SAPscript print program to Smartform

hello everyone,
Requirement is to print transfer orders. Current functionality supports SAPscripts and its print program. Since we are going to be using Smartforms, I need to change the print program so that it calls the custom smartform created by me.
Can anybody help me out by telling me a step-by-step process as to WHERE and WHAT changes I can do in the SAPscript print program so that I can use it for my Smartform?
The SAPscript print program that needs to be changed is: RLVSDR40.

The system does not migrate the print program (data retrieval) or the form logic contained in the print program. You must make the required changes to the respective print program yourself. PL take a look at the following
