Satellite C660 - need help with fresh Win7 installation

After a problem with my SatC 660 i decided to Nuke the hard drive and do a fresh install using a W7 32 Bit disk created from the web ( there is a free library of Windows 7 iso images (Sorry forgot name).
So i had the disk in and the disk drive which has the disk in, W7 is now saying it cant find the device driver for the DVD Drive which it has just used for it to show the W7 first screen.
Looked everywhere for the drivers for the DVD Drive but no joy on the web.
Can anybody help me out please?

Maybe stupid question on the beginning but why you don't install original Win7 64 bit? I presume you got your machine with preinstalled operating system.
> So i had the disk in and the disk drive which has the disk in, W7 is now saying it cant find the device driver for the DVD Drive which it has just used for it to show the W7 first screen.
Sorry but after reading this sentence Im completely confused and don't know how to understand this. If you have created bootable installation disc I hope you were able to install Win7 correctly. After first start you must continue to install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Optical disc drive uses Microsoft driver and there is no some special driver for this device. It must be recognized automatically by preinstalled operating system.
If my posting was not helpful for you please be more precise with your problem description.

  • Need help with flash player installation please !!!!

    Hello,
I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content)  and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

    Thank you for the replies.
Jeff, I will check that link and try what is suggests.
    Bill, to answer your questions...
    1. This is a CC installation.
    2. Yes, I am logged in as the admin and I have no anti-virus other than Microsoft Essentials enabled.
    3. This is a download installation.
To give even more info that might help, I am using a Windows 7 machine with more than enough capability to run CC.  I had installed Photoshop, Illustrator, among other apps successfully.  I then tried the Acrobat XI installation.  Acrobat XI downloaded and extracted, but when it started installing it froze around 50% and then I received the installation failed error from Windows.  Once that was confirmed the CC install progress finishes but shows failure.  The More Info reveals the error I pasted in above.  Afterward, none of the CC apps worked properly and had to be uninstalled.  So, next I installed the CC downloader and tried to start installing Acrobat XI first but the same error occurred.  That's when I got frustrated and posted my original message.  My limited knowledge leads me to think the error issue lies in the AcroPro.msi file but I have no idea what that is or how to find, correct, or install it.
Thanks again for any help you can provide.  I'm really frustrated that I'm paying for something that I can't use.

  • I need help with my CS5 installation

My CS5 installed normally as usual, but once it was done it was telling me that there was an error in installing, told me to restart and proceed with the installation again.
I did it twice, and now it seems to work but it gave me the same error.
I opened the program and it's telling me that,"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled the GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software."
I did an update search on my computer for that specific driver and apparently it's up to date. I also read on a forum that I needed to download Adobe Driver. But, unfortunately it's saying the same thing that CS5 said after the installation, to restart and continue with the installation.
    Help?

if you're encountering multiple different error messages,
    1. uninstall cs5,
    2. run the cleaner,
    3. update your video driver (go to your video card's manufacturer website),
    4. restart your computer (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and then
    5. reinstall cs5.

  • Need help with Java programming installation question

Sorry for my lack of knowledge about Java programming, but:....
A while back I thought I had updated my Java Runtime Environment programming. But I now apparently have two programs installed, perhaps through my not handling the installation properly. Those are:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 5.0 (a 118MB file)
    and:
    Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v 1.4.2_05 (a 108MB file)
Do I need both of these installed? If not, which should I uninstall?
Or, should I just leave it alone, and not worry about it?
Yeah, I don't have much in the way of technical knowledge...
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
    Bob VanHorst

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll do just that. Once in a while I have a problem with Java not bringing up a webcam shot, but when that happens, it seems to be more website based than a general condition.

  • Need help with a Silent Installer for Photoshop Elements 10

I can't seem to get the silent installer working. I've used the Elements 9 instructions for 10 but I still get pop-ups requesting info:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-volume-license-photoshop.html
I cannot find any info at all relating specifically to Elements 10. Before I go digging into the msi with ORCA (preferable to have something I can deploy in Active Directory through GPO) I tought I'd ask here

    @mtarggart
Delete the blank between /UL and 1033, and it will work. :-)
@Davide M, thanks a lot for your helpful article!
    mtarggart wrote:
I've tried the above command and I keep getting prompted to select an Install Language. I'm trying to install this on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise. From an elevated command prompt pointed to the directory of the Elements install files (C:\PSE 10), this is what I am typing: start /wait setup.exe /UL 1033 /V"SERIALNUMBER=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx".
For the ones who want to use installation from a server share,
    change "Setup.exe" by using \\Servername\Share\Setup.exe
and set \\Servername\Share to your Servershare.
The last thing I've been searching for was setting the right country
and stopping PSE from asking me which country I am living in.
Seems as if there was an additional switch e.g. "Country=244" for US.

  • Satellite A200 - need help with USB boot

    Hi to all,
I have a startup problem with my Satellite A200.
I am booting from my USB key. It is bootable Linux to install the tutorial is this:
Insert the USB key or drive you want to boot from.
    Restart the computer.
During startup, when prompted, press the appropriate button to display the "Boot Options". Usually it is F2, F8 or F12 (be displayed on the splash screen).
In the boot menu, select the drive to boot from.
The computer will now boot from the USB key or the first disc to change the boot priority back to boot from the hard drive. Perform the procedure again, but to choose the hard drive in step 4 the computer will now boot from the first hard disk.
My problem just part shift to the right that when it restarts with the USB key plugged remain frozen and Toshiba screen is displayed but it does not load anything.
F2 I want to access the BIOS it makes me please wait but nothing happen. I'm nothing like 1hr wait for F12 boot selections except that all boot are marked exceptions to the FDD one on which I want to boot.
So I find myself facing an impasse because for Toshiba loads must be connected to nothing which is silly because I want to boot on my key.
    If someone has a solution...

  • Need help with 2nd computer installation

Previously, I downloaded the trial version of Creative Cloud on my laptop.  It has expired.  I then went to work where I actually use Creative Cloud on a daily basis.  So... I know I can have my membership on two systems, so I attempted to logon to my account on my laptop hoping to be able to download my second access so I could work from home occasionally.  When the applicaton manager finally installed - it is showing my aps as already downloaded and only updates available.  Of course there are no apps on my computer anymore and I don't have any downloads anywhere else.  I checked with support and did a complete cleaning of all Adobe products and did a system clean as well.
I havn't tried yet....but has anyone else had issues like this?

Yes there have been other people that found themselves in the same situation as you.  While it is always possible, you are not likely to find them answering your posting though - they generally only come heree to get help, not offer it.  Try it and if you have a problem post back indicating the details.
You might try searching the forum to see if other posting like yours ended up doing what you are about to do.

  • Need help with HP printer installation.

Trying to install drivers for an HP OfficeJet 6500 e710n on two machines, an iMac and a MacBook Air, both running OS X 10.7.  The printer is a networked printer that I have tried adding to both machines as an IP printer and as a USB printer. With either method the printer is automatically discovered and the drivers are downloaded.  After the drivers are installed the process stalls at "Configuring the device..."  I have waited at this point for over half an hour with no progress before choosing cancel.  I have also downloaded and run the installer from HP with the same results.  The only way that I have been able to connect with this printer is by manually configuring an IP printer with the generic PCL drivers.  This allows me to print but only in low-res black and white.  Any suggestions?

If you force restart the computer on the freeze up, or force quit the printer adding window, does the printer appear in the print and scan system preference?   In other words, did the printer successfully install?  (is it possible that the setup part of the install failed, but the actual install worked?)
If so, you might be able to set the configurations yourself.
Open up the print and scan system preference.  Double click on the printer.
When the printer queue window opens up, you should be able to click on the printer setup button.
Go through all the tabs and set things up the way you like.

  • Need help with process for installation of DNS when establishing a child domain in AD forest using Windows Server 2012

Additional guidance is needed regarding process for configuring DNS and for configuring the server Network settings (IPv4 properties) for installing a child domain. For example, when installing the Root domain, it is recommended to install DNS when installing

  • Need help with installation

I recently received a laptop from school to access my online classes.  When I tried to use Adobe Reader I received the following message:  Adobe Reader 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I tried tech support at school and was told to uninstall and reinstall the program.  During the installation process I received the following error:  Error 1321 The installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:/Program Files/Adobe/Reader 9.0/Reader/Onix32dll. I need this program for school.  Can some one please help me.

    Hello again, Michael,
Was unable to do the UAC changes.  Buttons where not highlighted.  I just went ahead and uninstalled Adobe and downloaded Foxitsoftware and it works.   Thanks for all your help Michael you have made my online school experience better.
    Sincerely,

    Hello again, Sherri:
It's my pleasure to provide assistance when I can :•) Having just recently graduated after 7 years of effort just to get a 2-year degree, I can relate to needing software to get class work accomplished. I will do everything I can to make it happen for you today.
Since you didn't mention, the UAC setting, I'd like you to disable it for me if it isn't already:
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Under User Account and Family settings, click on the "Add or remove user account"
    3. Click on any user account
    4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.
    5. Under "Make changes to your user account", click on the "Change security settings" link
    6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.
    7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer - do so when ready
You may need to uninstall/reinstall Reader after the reboot in order for the problem to go away, but that part I am not certain of. Try to duplicate the issue prior to taking that step.
If you are unable to resolve issues with Adobe Reader, I recommend using a different reader that has much less bloat and is updated regularly:
    http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/
FoxIT is a FREE alternative to using Adobe's Reader. Support for free Adobe products is limited forums such as this. The same holds true for open source alternatives except the manufacturer usually helps support their forums while Adobe doesn't monitor this forum or any like it. I know how important it is for you to focus on your classes so don't beat your head against a wall just because Reader won't work when a viable solution exists.
Best of success in your pursuit of knowledge!

Look at all the apdiv's you have.  Those are absolutely positioned layers.  I'm assuming by your post that you are very new to Dreamweaver and HTML and CSS.  I would highly recommend not using absolutely positioned layers until you have a better grasp on HTML and CSS.
Looking at your code I would suggest that you consider using one of Dreamweaver's built in, or downloadable templates as a starting point and work from there.
