Save Column widths, column titles in Matrix

Just wondering if there is a quick way to access data on column settings on a system matrix (width, header caption). I can see where the bold, and alt names are stored for the main header areas, but can't see where the line settings are stored.
We have a customer that wants to transfer those settings from one user to another in current and different companies.

Have you looked at the Copy Express add-on? This is capable of transferring user settings between companies.

Column widths/column headings

I have just started using Mail and I am liking much about it but there crops up a thing or two that I am finding bothersome:
--is there anyway to keep column widths where I place them? I set widths one minute, close the mailbox and when I go back to it it's all expanded in undesirable ways. I don't want to devote so much window space to the attachment column, for example.
--I have archived sent and received mail in new folders/mailboxes. What I'd like to do is only have a "From" column in the incoming boxes and a "To" column in the outgoing boxes. Otherwise I have columns taking up space with just my name or email address; and who needs that? Is this doable? It dos not appear to be.

Mail has some glitches when it comes to preserve these settings, and I still don't know of a sure fix. Note also that Mail stores these settings globally for all mailboxes, so you can't customize them differently for each one, except for small variations such as the sort order or whether messages should be organized by threads.
If Mail refuses to preserve your changes when a particular mailbox is selected, try doing it with a different mailbox. In particular, if you have more than one account, try with the Inbox aggregate and also with any of the individual account mailboxes in that group.
At any rate, forget about having different mailboxes display different columns. There is simply no way to tell Mail to do this.

Changing Sql Report Column width

I am using Apex 4.1
Can anyone tell me how we can change the width of Sql report. For IR report we can do it using the following code,

Open / save dialog boxes - customizing column widths

When i open or save a doc in any of the CS5 apps, for mac, in column view, the left hand column where my projects are listed is too narrow. i see 9-10 characters. can the default width be changed so that this column will always be wider when i open those dialog boxes?

What version of Mac OS X are you running? I just did a test in InDesign CS 5.5 running on Lion (Mac OS X 10.7.3). In Lion, the open dialog window is "sticky". When you drag the column widths in column view, they continue to open that way when you open them again.

After launching the editor, I locate a reference to the front panel control named "Tag List".
This is type cast as a multicolumn list box which then allows me to increment through all of the cells and set the widths as i go.

Automatic decrease column width of the matrix

Hi my gurus,
Pls help me, I made a form with a matrix. After each times I open that form, each column in matrix automatic to decrease it's width, what happen ? And how to correct it, to column is fixed width ? thanks for every helping. I'm using SBO 2005A, to develop by VB.NET, screen painter.

Hi Andy,
What you can try is to set the column widths manually after loading your screen painter form. If you look at any SBO window it is an internal thing where the columns are resized on load or form resize.

Save file: column width

I generally find that when I'm saving a file (I use column view) the columns are too narrow to view the entire filename of my existing files. Almost every time I have to drag the columns wider.
Is there a way of permanently making it wider? I've tried enlarging the window but that doesn't usually help (I'm using the 20" cinema display).
Is this a feature of OS X that is accessed by applications, or is it something that would need to be made customisable in each individual application?

1. Finder does not appear to preserve the size you've set for columns in the Open/Save dialogs in Column View. This also appears to be the case when simply viewing folders in Column view within Finder windows. List View is much better in this regard.
Instead of resizing the column, you can simply hover the mouse pointer over a file name for a moment and a small box should appear showing you the full name of the file over which the mouse pointer is hovering.
For example, if you hold the mouse pointer over a file name that looks like;
this-is-a...ng-name.jpg
after a moment a box will appear next to the mouse pointer showing the full file name:
this-is-a-very-very-very-very-very-long-name.jpg
2. Generally, applications call upon the standard Open/Save dialogs, so these are system features.
I suggest you submit a Mac OS X Feedback.

How to fix BW Query column width globally before query execution?

Dear Experts,
Regarding the BW Query run in Business Explorer, the width of the first column A of the result displayed in Excel is usually based on the width of the query title.
I know that we can adjust the column width in Excel: right click on the column and change the properties as "Do not adjust column width" on refresh. But how can I change and fix this width globally (regardless of the actual length of the cells) inside the analyzer during query design, and before the result coming out in Excel? I want the change is on the "Change query (global definition)", and not inside the Excel.

Hi,
The column width is determined by the Analyser at the runtime and is taken by the settings done at Infoobject level in "Business Explorer tab". Like short text will have X width column.
If you need to have fixed column with different from what is proposed by the system u need to save ur query as Woorkbook.
or if u are displaying them in WEB ANALYSER then u can have report designer to control the formatting.

Hi,
The column width of the Document will be defaulted to the same size at which the user has saved the last document.
So, if a user has saved the Sales Order with a big column width for the 'Item Description' then after saving and re-entering into the Sales Order, the user can see the same column width for all the Sales Order's.

Is it possible to have a fixed column width and a URL link?

I am trying to achieve having a popup link on a column within a SQL report but also have the report column a certain width. I can have either or however not at the same time.
What I did was created a SQL report, edited a column and gave it a URL redirect (page in application) as normal.
For the fixed column width, I used:

And for the popup URL, I used:

Change the column width on the fly

Dear all,
I have a problem, i have a matrix report, the row is "the project name" and the column is "the items" using within each project, and the problem is the items are variable from time to time the report run for each project, so its exceeds the paper width.
And the question is, is there any way to change the width of the column on the fly, i mean dynamiclly change the column width each time the report is called to make all items fit the paper width.

i don't think that we can change the layout of the column in reports
The simple solution for that problem is that u have to
fix the horizontal and vertical layout of the text item

Hello All:
I use SAP R/3 Release 4.6C. I am learning how to use the F-03 Clear G/L Account function. On the front page of F-03 you enter the account number and then click process open items.
The output comes on the screen in the "standard" tab. In this tab you may start to clear your items.
My question: How do you change the width of these columns? I know you can change the column width by moving the column margin with the mouse. I want to know how to change the column width permanently - make the column a "fixed" width that will not change unless I change it.

First adjust all the columns as you prefer, then click on the table settings,configuration icon on the right top. Give a name in the variant and click save. Tick the check-box Use as standard setting.

How to import many large graphic images to fit into column width?

I have a 2-column layout and about 150 large graphic images which must be imported so that they fit exactly into the column width. These are bitmaps which have all the same dimensions. All of them will need a border (stroke). And they should be inline graphics because they belong to exact positions in the text flow.
What would be the sensible approach to that (apart from scripting which I have not done yet)? I tried to define an object style which has the attribute "Fit content to frame", but this does not scale the image to the column size. How can I avoid to format 150 those images manually?

It may be easier to change the ppi in photoshop so the image can be placed at the exact size.
so if the image is 10 inches and the file is 300 ppi
with resample image unchecked change the width to whatever you want it say 2 inches no the ppi will automatically change to 1500 ppi. Save. If you are creating a PDF make sure these images are not downsampled if you need the resolution.
another way if all images are the same size would be to size one and place it where all the images go and relink to the other pics, when you relink it should retain the properties of the previous pic.
